Ponyville had been mostly quiet recently. The normal happenings everyone was used to would go on, and everything was normal and peaceful, pretty much. But now, a call rang out through the town, calling everypony to town square, where something very important would be happening. At the town square, the Mayor stood at a podium, and infront of her, many ponies had already gathered, "Attention everyone" she began, "I have been informed that one of Shadow Wing's captains has been sent to give us some sort of message," she explained, there were some worried mutters within the crowd, "Now now, please do not worry" she said to the crowd, "I'm certain that whatever it is, it's nothing to worry about too much" she assured everyone.

Meanwhile, just on the outskirts of town, out of earshot of the call, a green unicorn stood, a piece of parchment and a brush dipped in ink hovering in front of his face, bathed in a violet glow. He muttered to himself as he looked around, and his brush squiggled around the parchment, "Fascinating" he muttered, looking at some buildings as he moved inwards into the town.

Morning Sun looked down at the town square from her perch atop a rather tall tree. Silently, she would observe Ponyville day after day, ever since the princesses had been overthrown. She went unnoticed by the townsfolk each day, though she would recieve a puzzled look from a young foal or a glance out of the corner of somepony's eye every now and then. But they never seemed to pay her any mind or attention.
Today, she listened on with intent and curiosity. She had heard only a few things about this "Shadow Wing" character who had overthrown the twin princesses, though most of it was nothing more than rumors. Today, she felt as though she might actually have a chance of learning something important.

Over by the park, the orange, red-haired pony known as Blazer was sitting on a park bench and whistling a tune. She was having an enjoyable day, when suddenly, she heard a loud call to all ponies coming from town square. "Now what's this all about?" she pondered. Blazer lept off the bench, and began to run as fast as she could to town square. She arrived at town square, and joined the crowd of onlooking ponies. She watched as the mayor began to speak of someone named "Shadow Wing".

Blazer overheard that one of Shadow Wing's captains would be arriving soon with a message. "Uh oh. This doesn't sound good.." she said quietly. "I wonder... what kind of message is this?"

A green-blue pony with a dark blue mane layed on her bed, gazing out at the sky through her window. The stone walls sorrounding her kept out all noise. As such, she could even hear her light breathing.
I don't have a good feeling...
She sighed, and turned over on her bed, facing the wall.

"Oh, how the starts in the skyyy, are beautifuuul, like yooou-" a green pony was singing, before being interrupted by the mayor's announcement that echoed throughout the city. He had blond hair that fell down over one of his eyes, and a cuite mark of a green tornado. He placed his piano down with a sigh.
"Such trouble..." he muttered, before heading to the main hall to hear what the mayor had to say.
One of Shadow Wing's captains are coming here...? THis can't be good... Tch....such trouble...I should have slept in today...

A gray pony with a black and white mane was traveling in a pegasus chariot. Her destination: Ponyville. She sighed with a smile.
"I hope this is easier than the last town...they didn't take it very kindly."
Suddenly, she sneezed. After sniffing a couple of times, she noticed they had begun to descend. She looked down, and saw the crowd of people gathered there.
"Oh...this is pleasant, they're all already gathered. Now...to get this over with quickly."
The pegasus chariot landed right on the platform in front of the town hall, and the gray pony descended. She looked on toward the crowd.
"Hello, citizens of Ponyville. I am Captain Sniffy. Under the command of your king, I have come to bring you a message. It's-" she said, before she sneezed again. "It's...um...about some new rules that will be implemented here in Ponyville."

Starlight was chit chating with Tinker in her workshop, like normal planning for the day.

"It has been very quiet recently, I don't like it." Starlight said, concerned.

"I got a messege from N earlier, she said that Sniffy would be coming to town, apparently she was in Filliedelphia earlier, and they had a massive uproar. The rebels didn't have time to prep the ponies to stay calm." Replied Tinker.

Starlight was just glad he could do something. He had been undercover for five months now. Nobody but Tinker knew him as Starlight. He had to stay in disquise around the guards that periodicly patroled the town. Today was no diffrent, as he looked over his shoulder at the doctors clothing hanging near the entrance. One of his many disquises. When he looked back he saw Tinker bending over her latest project, and he couldn't help but feel a bit awkward. His face became flush, just in time for her to stand back up and look at him.

"Don't tell me this is still knew to you. Yes I am a pretty girl, and you have to work with me."

"Don't judge me, I'm used to it... I have extensive training in cop.."

"You have tons of training, yet you can't hide your thoughts from me. While you were busy staring at my flank, I prepared for you the gadgets you will need."

Starlight didn't like the acusation, but he brushed the insult away, excited for some new toys.

"Here are some comunicators, the tracker you need to place on Sniffy... oh and a Hidden Hoof gun, just in case."

The comunicator fit snugly in his ear, invisable to the naked eye. He placed the tracker in his secret pocket, and put the Hoof Gun, disguised as a braclet securly around his left hoof.

"Now, I have no idea what you plan is, but please don't get caught."

"Oh comon Tinker, you should know me by now."

Starlight walked outside when suddenly his comunicator beeped loudly in his ear. After adjusting the volume, he heard N's voice.

"Starlight, I have sent you the assasins you requested."

"Assasins? I see no ass.."

Starlight was interuped by a hoof on his back, he turned to see Dimitry, a old friend and assasin.

"Thank you N, this should go off perfectly."

"Ciao, Hello there old friend."

Starlight look towards Dimirty, concerned.

"Have you heard the plan yet?"

"Un pò,Partialy." Dimitry said with a blank look on his face.

Starlight sighed, and said

"Your job is, after Sniffy is done with her speech, you will distract her and her guards. The goal here is to distract all the Guards in the town so I can collect my choosen ponies and discus our situation. You need to give us at least a hours opening, perferably three. You can kill the guards, but Sniffy needs to remain untouched."

"Are you kidding? We can send a huge messege to Shadow Wing by killing her off now!"

"I need her to get to Shadow Wing! You kill her not only will Ponyville will be destroyed without a chance, but we will never find Shadow Wing!"

"Fine, where do we meet?"

"I will be in the crowd of ponies, when the speech is over and she walks back to there carrage you and your colts will strike from the roof tops. There will be mass panic, and as Sniffy is escaping, Ill bump into her and place the tracker. It will be easyer for me to not be in disquise, and I also need to talk to her. You will aide in that too."

"Yet she can't know that you are..."

"Exactly."

"Fine... Te lo prometto. I promise not to touch her."

Starlight noded, and flew down to the collecting crowd, and frowned, seeing that Sniffy was already there. Out of the crowd Starlight picked the ponies he had choosen long ago, and nodded at the undercover rebels that would collect them in the madness.

"Questo sta per essere divertente." Whispered Dimitry, waiting with the assasins gathered around the city.

"I hope he dosent get killed." She continued working on her secret project. It was a gift, and when the madness was over she would share it with everypony. She smiled and whispered.

"Let it begin."

Morning's ears perked up at the sound of the word "rule". "So that sickly pony is part of this dark plot? I almost feel sorry for her... I wonder what words or actions could've caused her to get involved with such a terrible group." she said to herself, sighing. The grey-furred pony reflected in her pitch-black eyes. "I wonder how things could've been different for her, if things could've been changed." Morning thought quietly, now scanning the crowd carefully. "...Perhaps it's best not to think about it right now..." she glanced behind her for a moment, before her gaze fell back to the crowd. "No... I should focus more on this foreboding feeling of mine."

Wulf had woken up early this morning due to some screaming and panicking nurses. It had been a little over a month since he had been discovered on the outskirts of ponyville with major wounds. The nurses suspected it would take a while for his wounds to heal, but not this long. He had his own room and was usually not bothered by the nurses...or by anypony for that matter. Slowly arising from his bed, he tried to listen to what the nurses were shouting.

"Did you hear? One of the generals is coming!"

"I heard he was already here!"

"Do you think we should tell Wulf?"

"No. You know how he hates to be disturbed."

"If your sure..."

Wulf thought about this for a minute, wondering why the nurses would not tell him and wondering who this General was. He decided although he hadn't fully recovered that he was gonna go to the town square to hear what was going on. He opened his door, and the nurses seemed quite confused as to why Wulf was leaving his room. Wulf bolted for it, and the nurses quickly snapped from their confusion to catch him. He shouldn't be leaving now! He narrowly escaped the hospital, and headed straight toward the town square. He was finally gonna find out what was going on.

Volt hovered around the skies of Ponyville. A thunderstorm was scheduled for later today, and he took the task to do himself. He took his time gathering thunderclouds and moving them in. He started at the shore, and gradually moved in towards Ponyville. He noticed a commotion beginning in the town square, but he didn't pay it any mind and continued with his task. He hated being around people. He didn't have many friends for that matter, but he was perfectly capable of keeping sane in solitude. He finished gathering the clouds and was about to set off the rain, when he noticed a black and white mare at the center of the commotion. She seemed familiar... Then he realized: It was the captain that he had heard about this morning in Cloudsdale. Making a mental note to return and set off the clouds, he flew down to hear whatever it was the mare had to say.

A brown pegasus with a blonde mane sat lounging around on a cloud above Ponyville when she heard a loud call to gather in the town square. She flew down to see what was going on, where a crowd of ponies were already gathered. Apparently Shadow Wing had sent one of his captains to dictate new laws to be passed. She frowned a bit when she saw said captain, "She doesn't look in very good sorts. Should someone who's sick really be coming all this way?" she wondered quietly.

The green pony who was on the outskirts of town had now made his way quite a ways in. He kept looking around, painting down everything that he saw, and while he was drawing down some odd flora he had never seen before, he ran smack dab into the side of a building, and fell onto his flank, "Pegasus feathers!" he exclaimed angrily, as several other pieces of parchment fell from a bag at his side, as well as several more brushed, and the parchment and brush he had levitating in front of him fell to the ground as well, leaving an unsightly mark across the, up to this point, perfect painting, "Fiddle sticks!" he exclaimed when he saw this. As he sorted through his fallen materials, he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A large group of ponies gathered at the base of a stand, where a Pony with a Black and White mane seemed to be doing... something or other. He quickly put the rest of his stuff away, and ran up to the crowd, "What could this be?" he asked himself aloud.

A pegasus with a rather odd, very spiky, Red and Light Blue mane lounged around on a black cloud, above a palace. He looked out to the sea, "I wonder how Sniffy is doing right now. Hope the towns don't get mad at her because of all the new laws..." he said to himself, "Come to think of it, I wonder how Dawn's doing" he added, then paused, "Snowfire... when did you start to care so much about others?" he asked himself, calling himself by name. He sighed, "Maybe I've been spending too much time with these guys" he decided.

A purple Unicorn with a flat, minty green mane lied in a bed, looking at the ceiling. She gave a hefty sigh, "Why is life here always so BORING? I wish something interesting would happen, ANYTHING!" she said to herself, then rolled over onto her side, "Maybe I should just sleep... In the middle of the day... Oh well, at least I don't have to go to some hick town to read off some new laws" she decided, but ended up sighing again anyway, disappointed with even her own answer.

Sniffy cleared her throat. "Alright, I shall begin reading the new rules. First off, nopony is allowed outside after 9:30 PM... secondly, there will be no large gatherings of ponies without the permission of Lord Shadow Wing...and um...the final thing is that...starting two months from now, Shadow Wing and us, his servants, will be scouring all of Equestria each year, looking for newborn fillies that show potential, to raise them from a young age, and add them to our ranks. The parents of the child...will not be able to see him or her until they come of age, and become official soldiers of Shadow Wing....but please understand, that it is...because we want to ensure the safety of all residents of Equestria..."

She gulped, hoping the outrage would be less severe than the other towns. She was wrong every other town before this one, but...she could hope, after all.

Storm blinked. Oh man...somethin tells me everypony's gonna yell their heads off because of this...such trouble...
He put his headphones on, and began jamming to some music, off in his own little world.
Then again...these rules are also troublesome...jeez...

Winter Snow had, unbeknownst to Sniffy, been somewhat of a personal escort on her journey from Shadow Wing's island. Winter Snow had managed her way into Shadow Wing's right-hand side, and so she felt that she was virtually exempt from his law, so she pretty much did whatever she pleased. Not having been in Ponyville since she was a baby, she decided to wander around and sight-see. She didn't want to interact with anypony right now, so she darted quickly from building to building. After getting far enough away from the amassed crowd in the town center, she walked openly. She was amazed by what had changed and what hadn't in the 20 or so years she was gone. Sugar Cube Corner was still there. It was old and run-down, and it seemed to be abandoned, but it was still there. She entered the old building, and her light blue magic aura lit up the darkened rooms. In a far corner, she saw something of intrigue, but it was unrecognizable at her angle and distance. Believing that the building should have been empty, she cautiously made her way closer to examine what (or who) it was.

Volt could hardly pay attention to what it was the young mare had to say; he was distracted by the fact that she was showing symptoms of a familiar disease. It had taken the life of his father, and of some of his fellow council members. He was under the impression that the disease was mildly contagious, so he kept his distance. He pushed it out of his mind and returned back to his task of the weather. Kicking the first cloud, he set off a chain reaction of weather events. It started with a thunder clap, and it began to rain. The front gradually moved inward at a near-glacial pace towards the town center of Ponyville.

Morning focused her attention back to the sickly-looking pony. "Building an army?!" she thought, eyes widening. "Nothing like this has happened since..." Morning slumped back against the tree. "This is bad. If it really is a repeat of back then... I suppose I'll have to start looking for him again. And others... There has to be at least one other who can help me." Morning stood up again. She leaped down the tree, from one branch to the next. When she hit the ground, she began to wade through the crowd, getting closer to the stage. When she reached the edge of the stage, a headache struck her suddenly. "Urgh... that foreboding feeling again. But it's different... closer, imminent." She looked up at the mare on the stage. "...Something to do with her?"

Starlight awaited in the planned get away route of Sniffy. He had it all planned out and with N's mathematics, the plan shouldn't fail. So after a quick breath and a nod from the near by Dimitri, I whistled the start noise. Similar to the ancient tune of a bird directed by a famous musical Mare generations ago by the name of Fluttershy. That specific note came from the song 'Breaths of Freedom'. Hopefully they would get a breath of freedom.

Smoke bombs hurled through the air, stunning the crowd and allowing the assassins to advance on Sniffy, and gather some chosen ponies. Charges where set off to blow up empty building to block Sniffy's escape routes to just my street. A group of ten assassins surrounded Sniffy, but allowed a gap in my direction.

The citizens, while the guards are busy dieing and Sniffy is retreating will be evacuated. Even if we loose, Shadow Wing will want to punish Ponyville, so they need to be taken out of the town. The plan was working perfectly, as the plan fell together except for one part.

Some of the chosen ponies were mixed up with the crowd. It wasn't unusual to confuse some ponies in Ponyville. Sometimes they would all look the same, yet for some reason the messenger used the word 'Missing'. As if they were taken behind our backs, and where not at the gathering. This is concerning for they are the strongest and smartest ponies in Ponyville, and are the only ones qualified for the planned mission.

This is bad, yet right now all I need to worry about is how i am going to introduce myself to my old friend Sniffy. It is funny, he can plan such a elaborate plan, yet he can't figure out how to say "Hi!" to a girl. The white stallion chuckled at this, then prepared for the catch. He hid in a building and waited to grab her from the street.

Storm was too busy with his eyes closed, and bobbing his head to unecessarily loud music to notice the commotion around him, so he simply stayed on the ground where he was. It's not like he had other plans. Speeches were such trouble. Especially when they came from the higher ups.

Sniffy blinked. She couldn't believe what was happening. So much happened in such a short time. She looked to her left, to her dead guards, and to her right, a gap in the circle of assassins. ...are they really so stupid? Well...since they took the time to coax me into going there...might as well, seeing as I don't have much of a choice!

She sped out of the circle before any of the assassins could react, and headed down a clear path through an alley. Once she got to the end, however, she had to slow down, for another pony was standing in her way.

"...who are you?" Sniffy asked, taking a step back.

For some reason the white pony in front of her seemed familiar...

"Quick Sniffy! Don't slow down! Follow me!"

Starlight led her into the building he was hiding in, while pulling her inside, he tried placing the tracker, yet the adhesive wasn't working, so he gave up before raising too much attention to it.

"Its been quite some time Sniffy, yet you don't recognize me?"

It was awhile ago, yet Starlight remembered clearly. She was stranded, alone in a cave. At the time he was scouting out the woods after first arriving to Ponyville. She was about his age, they were both young and confused. Yet Starlight was less confused and he couldn't leave Sniffy alone. He wasn't aloud to do much to make his true identity known. So each day Starlight would stop by the cave and give Sniffy some food and warmth. Most importantly though, he gave her someone to talk to. One day though N forced him to stop going to the cave, because Shadow Wing had posted guards there to spy on her. Yet he could not stop going as the young Starlight had a weird feeling about Sniffy, and to Starlights nature, he couldn't leave a pony helpless. Especially if she was about to be taken by Shadow Wing. Yet by the time he got there, she had been taken away.

His only regret was not taking her out of that cave himself, yet she was trained to love Shadow Wing like a second dad, and he didn't have the time to convince her now. He just had to get some trust built again, and a warning across.

"Sniffy, those assassins will find you if you don't stay low, there is a room in the back where we can talk in private. I would understand if you don't trust me, yet it is me or to die by their blades. I wouldn't want the later to happen to you."

"I...I don't remember you. I..." Sniffy said, suddenly gripping her head, wincing.

W-why do I feel as if I know this person? I...can't possibly have...I was born in Lord Shadow Wing's castle, wasn't I...?

"Don't be silly, I-" Sniffy began to say, before sneezing.

She sniffed, before continuing. "I can take care of myself...but...I am a servant of Lord Shadow Wing's, so I must listen to what people have to say. What is that you...want to tell me?"

A crimson-colored pony with a black jumpsuit and spiky red and black hair was roaming the skies. He flew around aimlessly, performing twirls and loops, without much of a care. During the middle of his latest loop, he yawned.

"Damn...this is so boring, I can just drop dead right here. Then again, Sniffs is out there having to talk to the commoners...so I guess I should count myself lucky I don't have to do something so humiliating."

He began whistling a tune, doing more loops around the air.

Smoke rolled over Morning's eyes and down her face, making her cough. She spun around, looking for some form of clear air. "Was this that foreboding feeling I had earlier? Certainly... It'd make sense." Morning thought. She jumped up, out of the smoke cloud, looking for some sort of foothold above. She noticed an awning on a building just a short ways away before landing back down. Again, she leapt into the air, this time landing on the awning. She scanned the surroundings once more, her eyes now clear, this time for the sickly pony from before. "I can't see her on the platform, nor closeby... is someone after her, or is it something else? After a speech like that, I'd be surprised if no one here felt some sort of contempt. But if someone is indeed gunning for her, then I'll have to find her first... I can't lose this chance." she thought, taking off in search.

'So she doesn't remember me... the brainwashing rumors were true.' Starlight thought.

"Well you can just say I am a old friend." Starlight said holding out a tissue he had.
"You are severely sick Sniffy, I had hoped I would meet you here on better terms, well for now the new goal is to get you out of here safe and sound."

Starlight dug through a pouch he had on him for a bottle of medicine. Shadow Wing had banned these from production. They were a once a week pills that helped slow the symptoms of her genetic disease. He had these banned, and the cure research destroyed most likely to keep her thinking he was the only cure. Starlights hatred of him grew even more, yet he couldn't let this distract him.

"Now, here is a gift that should help you out, I have the best intentions for you..."
Starlight had a planned interruption by a assassin that crashed through the front window. As rehearsed Starlight promptly bucked him out of the window.
"We don't have much time."
Starlight rested a hoof on her back, yet the adhesive of the tracker still wasn't working, this wasn't good. Also Starlight began getting awkwardly closer to her.

"Listen, everyone is focused on getting out through the street where the charges failed, if you go through the back door, there is a abandoned street you can run right through. Ill be following, and protecting your flank."

More assassins ran into the room, these guys weren't planed.

"QUICKLY!"

Wulf had noticed when the commotion started that two ponies had run off...and the mysterious pony who had come to town was one of them. He secretly followed them, staying hidden, but just within earshot. Listening to their conversation, he grew even more curious...and worried that they were gonna move soon. He might not be able to keep up with them due to his injured legs. He would fly, but both of his wings were broken. He couldn't help but wonder why someone would try and assassinate the mysterious pony, and he was determined to find out. He had to decide; expose himself now, or follow her advance and risk losing her.

"I'm not THAT si-" Sniffy said, before she almost sneezed again. She managed to put her hoof over her mouth before the occurance. THen she let it drop to the ground again with a sigh. "I don't know why you'd be helping me...I thought Lord Shadow Wing's order wasn't really that pleasing to people...but thank you."

Sniffy smiled a bit, before she took the medicine bottle, and began heading for the back door. All of a sudden, assassins burst into the room.

"Oh no..." she muttered, and ran toward the door. Before she ran out however, she turned towards Starlight "By the way...nice attempt to place a tracker on me, Star boy..."

She smiled a bit, before running out the door.

well that was odd...I wonder why I called him that...maybe because of that star-shaped cutie mark...? huh...either way, I better get back to Lord Shadow Wing...

Sonic Burst sighed again, getting bored of loops in the sky. "Screw it...I'm gonna go spy on Sniffs...at least it'll be more fun than hanging around here..."

With a quick turn, he sped towards Ponyville

'She is still as clever as ever' Thought Starlight. Somehow he knew this wasn't going to work.

"Did you place it?" The assassins said angrily. They didn't give him the chance to ponder any of her words.

"No I didn't" said Starlight.

Dimitri didn't need Starlight to tell him the news, he SAW it.

"Dannazione Starlight!" Dimitri yelled angrily.
Dimitri made his advance to kill Sniffy, he wasn't going to let her get away alive. He jumped from roof-top to roof-top. Yet as promised Starlight ran to catch up with Sniffy to watch her back.

"DIMITRI DON'T DO THIS!" Starlight yelled trying to get some sense into him.

"You Idiot! Hai fallito!" Dimitri replied angrily.

Starlight wasn't fast enough, as he saw Dimitri pounce off the roof towards Sniffy.

Volt was acting as a bouncer of sorts for Ponyville. The storm front had completely covered the town, and now everypony who was outside was caught in the downpour. Volt would part the clouds for certain pegasi commuting from Cloudsdale to Ponyville, or from other places. He was aware that not everypony could safely fly through a storm like he could.
Nopony was actually scheduled to enter or exit Ponyville at the moment, save for the captain. Bored, he began practicing flight techniques. He flew about 80-100 meters out to sea, which allowed his fur to pick up his signature charge. He made 2 sudden right angle turns, which changed his direction back towards Ponyville, and picked up more speed. Reaching Ponyville, he dove into the cloud layer and began darting around through the dark clouds, creating thunder and lightning along the way. He made a sudden upward turn and blasted straight into the sky. He barely missed another pegasus who was flying towards Ponyville. Realizing that he may have disrupted the other pony's flight pattern, he made a sigh and turned back.

A flash of bright light snapped through the space between the sickly pony and her would-be assailant. A snowy-white mare with various red lines marking her face and body appeared from the flash, her pitch-black eyes dead-set on the attacker that was nearly a foot away from her. She braced herself, prepared to take a hit. "So this is what that foreboding feeling was trying to tell me... Thank god I'm not too late to step in!" she thought, throwing up her front legs defensively.

Sonic Burst almost crashed into another pegasus that came out of nowhere. He would normally have stopped to disrupt the gentlecolt's blood flow and rupture his jaw, but now was not the time. Why? It was simply because he looked downward, and saw a small commotion. He wouldn't have cared, but he saw a crazy pony leaping at a snow-white pony with red markings, with Sniffy right behind her. This guy was obviously going to wound both Sniffy AND the strange white mare, at that rate.

"...tch...the things I do for my 'companions' "

Sonic Burst poured all his speed into a dash, and tackled the assailant pony before he could reach the white pony. Sadly, at the speed he was going, he couldn't stop easily, and both he and the assailant crashed through a wall.

Sniffy gasped. "W-what? Sonic?! And who are you?" she asked, looking at the mare in front of her. "What is...I...I-" she attempted to finish her sentence, but ended up sneezing.

Morning turned around to the sickly pony, thankful for the convenient intervention that prevented her from being wounded, finally getting a good look at her face. "This girl is worth so much trouble to them" She sighed. "Nothing for it, then. I'll just have to protect her for now, until I can learn what I need to know..." she thought. Her dark eyes stared hard at the girl in front of her. "Young one, there isn't a lot of time. I'll keep you protected for right now. Just stay near me. I'll ensure that no harm comes to you, my friend, wether you believe me or not." Morning told her quickly.
