It is said that an entirely new region has been discovered, or rather, created. How, you may ask? The rapid advancement in technology has led to the creation of completely artificial grassland. In turn, a new island has been created. Pokemon from every region have been placed on the island, and it has also been made sure of that their habitats are suitable. As of late, this region has become quite popular, and in turn created a tournament. This tournament is much like the Elite Four, but different in the sense that, one, there are many trainers to face and, two, there are no specific rules as to how the transitions from battle to battle go. The opponent selection is at random, meaning you could face any opponent at any time. Veterans of the tournament have been selected to face the finalists. There are two veterans, meaning that the last remaining two shall battle. If the semifinals end with both veterans victorious, the tournament will restart in one month. If the finals end with a veteran victorious, the same thing shall occur. Trainers from all regions are coming to this tournament, whether its by boat, plane, car, or even Pokemon. All trainers must register by a certain time; approximately twelve hours before the tournament starts. He is a little heavy set, has brown hair and brown eyes. He wears a red, black, and white, checkered flannel with jeans and skate shoes. He also wears a black hoodie, although it looks a little bit torn up. Under his sleeves, he has cuts on his arms. Personality: Rex is actually a very social person, and loves to joke around with people. He is a bit sarcastic at times, but never judges weak people or Pokemon in a negative way. Due to the hardships of his original family, he respects hard working people. He is also very protective of his Pokemon. When angered, he rarely speaks. He had a hard time growing up, and once he reached the age of ten, he had to start working for the city so that his family could survive. His parents were miners and were often covered in coal. This, unbeknownst to them, was a strong health hazard. Due to the advances in technology, officials were dispatched to look around the city, in case the technology was needed. The officials saw that the living conditions there were not suitable for a child, so they took Rex away from his parents and put him in foster care. He was[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif] moved[/font] to Ecruteak[color=#000000][font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif][size=2] City. [font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif][size=4]Since then, Rex had a strong belief that through hard work, a weak individual could become strong, unlike his parents who, in his mind, let him go. When he turned eleven, he found a pokeball in the grass. He, of course, didn't know what it was. So, he took it to his foster parents, and they explained the entire concept of capturing Pokemon. Rex was anxious to get started. He wandered out, and was gone for some time. On his walk, he came across a cave. At the very entrance of the cave was a Larvitar. He had never seen a Pokemon quite like it. He wandered over and noticed that the Pokemon was hurt. Remembering the words of his foster parents, he grabbed the Pokemon and ran to the nearest Pokemon center. Once the Larvitar was healed, it grew attached to Rex. Not only that, but it bumped Rex's pokeball, and let itself be captured. Rex didn't even have to catch it himself! As time went on, Rex decided to only build his team with the strongest Pokemon he could find. He wanted to crush his opponents with skill and brute strength. He wanted to smash them until nothing remained. Shortly after he turned fourteen, Rex heard of a tournament that was going to begin. He packed his things and left for the island. Through countless battles, Rex and another trainer were named Veterans. It has been a year since then, and Rex is ready to face the semifinalist. She would even care for evil Pokemon, such as the ones owned by Team Rocket. [spoiler=Pokemon Team] Please note that all of Kotomi's Pokemon were evolved from Baby Pokemon. Throughout Kotomi's adventures, Pichu evolved into Pikachu from being with Kotomi for so long. When Kotomi visted her grandparents on the Orange Islands, Pikachu stumbled upon a Thunderstone, making him evolve into Raichu. Pokemon #2: Clefable [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/d4/Spr_5b_036.png[/img] Clefable was Kotomi's second Pokemon. Kotomi found her as a Cleffa, who was lost in Kotomi's hometown of Cerulean City. Kotomi galdly took in the Cleffa as her own Pokemon. Cleffa evolved into Clefairy when Kotomi was traveling Johto with her cousin. After Kotomi had obtained most of her Pokemon, including a Jigglypuff, Kotomi got a Moon Stone from a random shop in Kanto. Jigglypuff and Clefairy both evolve with a Moon Stone, but Kotomi only had one. She ended up giving it to Clefairy, making her evolve into Clefable. Pokemon #3: Jigglypuff [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/3/34/039.png[/img] Kotomi found Jigglypuff as an Igglybuff during her Johto adventure. Igglybuff was very stubbon and kept running away from Kotomi whenever she tried to catch her. Kotomi finally caught her with an Ultra Ball. Igglybuff almost evolved as soon as she was caught, since Kotomi kept trying to catch Igglybuff, it showed that she really cared for the Pokemon. Kotomi obtained a Moon Stone that she was going to give to Jigglypuff, but she ended up giving it to her Clefairy. Pokemon #4: Jynx [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a8/124.png[/img] Kotomi found Jynx as a Smoochum during her stay in the Orange Islands. Smoochum was very shy, but followed Kotomi around the islands. Kotomi realized that Smoochum wanted to be apart of Kotomi's Pokemon team. Kotomi agreed with Smoochum and caught it! Smoochum took awhile to evolve, though. Everytime Smoochum started to evolve, she stopped evolving. Kotomi found out that Smoochum was holding an Everstone, keeping her from evolving. Smoochum gave Kotomi the stone, letting herself evolve into Jynx. Pokemon #5: Blissey [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a0/242.png[/img] Kotomi visted Sinnoh to meet her other grandparents. Her grandmother gave Kotomi an egg. Soon after, her grandmother died. Kotomi held onto the egg as it was the only thing she had to remember her grandmother by. The egg hatched into Happiny. Kotomi raised Happiny into a Chansey. Chansey took awhile to evolve also. Kotomi trained hard with Chansey, who soon evolved into Blissey. Pokemon #6: Wobbufet [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/c0/202.png[/img] When a small Wynaut crossed Kotomi's path, she fell in love with the Pokemon. Kotomi caught the Wynaut with glee. Wynaut evolved in the middle of a battle between Kotomi and her father, who also had a Wobbufet. Kotomi beat her father's Wobbufet with her Wobbufet. Wobbufet got lost in the Orre Region once for two weeks, sending Kotomi into a deep depression. Wobbufet found his way back to Kotomi, who was filled with joy by the return of her Pokemon. [/spoiler] Bio: Kotomi Ichinose was born and raised in Cerulean City. Her parents raised her to a very smart child who loves Pokemon. When Kotomi turned 11, she left on her Pokemon journey around Kanto with her Pichu. After this, she traveled Johto with her cousin, Naota. She was 13 when she returned to Kanto and stayed there until she was 15. At the age of 15, she traveled to the Orange Islands to vist her mother's parents. She then visted Sinnoh to met her father's parents. Then she went to Orre, where she helped Professor Krane during one of the Cipher attacks on Orre. I also tend to have a little story for each Pokemon any of my OCs have. I also try to make my characters have Pokemon who are similar to each other in some way. Kotomi's Pokemon all started out as Baby Pokemon. In another one of my OCs, all the Pokemon have the same attack stats. It's the little things I pay attention to. Pokemon Team: Froslass, Sneasel (special color), Lairon, Politoed,Tropius, Ninetales. Bio: Mila was raised in the snowy peaks of Mahogany town. She is also the granddaughter of the Mahogany gym leader known as Pryce. Unlike her grandfather Mila wants to enjoy her youth and just have fun. Mila really loves pokemon but her real passion is music. She hopes to become a great DJ one day, however Pryce told Mila to abandon such silly dreams. Pryce told Mila that it was her destiny to take over the Mahogany city gym. Mila has now set off to the newly created region to try and escape her fate and make a name for herself. [/spoiler] Personality: Kazuya often keeps to himself prefferring to leave details about himself out of almost any conversation he has rather focusing the conversations of stuff about the other person often trying to find battle tactics before he has to face them. Kazuya often prefers dark places to light ones and such could at times be found in caves with very little light, such often ending up with him infuriating either a geodude or other rock-like pokemon in the dark by kicking them due to not being able to discern them from rocks and the poor light leading him to be unable to see them properly. When in a pokemon battle Kazuya often relies on the shadows and obstacles nearby to allow his pokemon to sneakily attack an opponent or avoid their attacks, as of such clear fields seem to be a weakpoint in this strategy where instead he changes to other more aggressive tactics. [img]http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae85/Orochi_01/623Golurk20.png?t=1331331486[/img]Gollurk [/spoiler] [spoiler=Bio:] Kazuya was born in Eterna City, living there with his parents until the age of 7 at which he had run off while playing and gotten himself lost inside the eterna forest. wandering around the forest he had found a mansion, an aipom had jumped out of a nearby tree scaring him and causing him to move back before he noticed an unusual colored deerling nearby, it's coat black and white instead of the normal colors deerling would take in summer to disguise it's presence in grass if it sensed hostility. The Aipom began to move towards him but the deerlig shot a seed from it's head the seed hitting the aipom in the middle of the forehead before vines grew trapping it as they turned red and drained it's energy the deerling push against Kazuya lightly as if to tell him to go. Kazuya had then ran towards the mansion opening the door and closing it after running inside scared, Seeing a man who looked like a butler as he entered a room that looked to be a dining room, as he began to ask where he was the butler faded away as if a ghost, causing kazuya to again run in fear, hiding in a bedroom sitting against the door. Kazuya spent the next day hiding before his hunger got the better of him and he went to look for food, finding the deerling that had protected him outside the front door, coming outside slowly he followed it as it began to walk off, leading him to the tree with it had been eating fruit from. He carefully picked up one of the fruits and took a bite. He had later that day returned to the mansion the deerling having led him back as he had went back to the bedroom he had hidden with and slept, this process repeated for a few years until he was the age of 10 without any change much. On the day that would've been Kazuya's 10th birthday, A gengar had hidden in his shadow as he went outside waiting for him to be near the fruits before coming out and scaring him, having already chilled Kazuya from being near gengar's sudden appearance scared him, this gengar like the deerling being different from usual coloring being black with pure red eyes. Kazuya had then run until he felt the chill gengar had caused leave his body and he hid in a shadow caused by the mansion, The deerling having ran to one side of gengar before disappearing and appearing on the other hitting it with it's head having attacked with faint attack, the Gnegar took back at suddnly being hit became cautious of the deerling which had stood watching it after hitting before running off to find Kazuya, the gengar following silently curious why the deerling had attacked him for scaring a human. Over the next few days gengar followed them unseen observing how Kazuya had played with the deerling, they both got fruit from the same area and had later returned to the mansion escorted by deerling, beginning to see that the deerling was friends with the human. After a few months the gengar revealed itself again however rather than scaring Kazuya as it had before it instead tried to be friendly rather than its normal mischievous and somewhat malicious attitude. The next year one of the traveling pokemon trainers that was going through eterna forest had found Kazuya playing with deerling and gengar, kazuya seeming dirty, and as if he hadn't been around humans for a while hiding behind deerling when the trainer called out to him and unable to speak, the trainer managing to coax him to follow him into town not noticing the gengar which had pretended to be his shadow making amusing shapes for kazuya or the deerling which had stood beside him as they entered the town, the man going around town yet not finding Kazuya's parents who had moved away in the year after they lost him having believed theyd never find him. The trainer took him in as his own, owning a house in Eterna city and getting Kazuya cleaned up and finding him clothes that though loose had fit. The gengar which had followed Kazuya often tried to trick people nearby except Kazuya often doing it to try to entertain him, Kazuya often keeping in the shadows where gengar and deerling would keep him company gengar not liking sunlight and the deerling going out there with him but often returning.As Kazuya grew older under the man's care he began to venture off with deerling having one day at the age of 16 returned with a pichu thats coloring was similar to the deerling's. Kazuya had that day decided to go travelling getting some pokeballs before leaving his 3 pokemon allowing themselves to be caught inside them though he afterwards let deerling come out of it's pokeball to walk with him. While on his own traveling through the land he found a lake that had a black substance similar to oil over the top with a hurt gyarados covered in oil on the side of it catching it in the pokeball before rushing to a nearby river letting it out and clearing the oil from it though it remained a black-like color. He slowly helped the gyarados recover along with help from deerling, gengar and pichu before putting it back into the pokeball he caught it with before it wanting to travel with him. At the age of 18 he found 2 more dark specially colored pokemon a bouffalant and a Gollurk, fighting eachother over what seemed like a despute over territory, sending out gengar and pichu he managed to break up the fight deerling helping him to reason with the pokemon Along with himself speaking having from his time around the deerling adopted it as a more natural language than that of english he was taught by the trainer being able to come to an agreement between the two helping them sort out who would take what supplies back to their 'family' of pokemon the two following him after that as he left allowing themsevles to be caught. Kazuya has since travelled in the shadows bpreffered by his pokemon and himself speaking either english when talking to humans or in a pokemon language similar to deerling's the deerling having evolved shortly after that when it had fought with a wild beedrill defeating it after evolving to sawsbuck. Personality: Naota is the tough guy. Naota is a slacker that is often seen failing school, skipping school, and looking for wild Pokemon. Naota seems to catch every Pokemon he finds, if he can. Naota also is very mysterious. He would walk around with his head down and hands in his pockets, not talking to anyone. [spoiler=Pokemon Team] Pokemon #1: Poliwrath [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/5/57/Spr_5b_062.png[/img] Poliwrath is the strongest Pokemon in Naota's roster. When Naota was on his way to his first day of Trainer School, he walked by the fountain in Phence City. Sitting in the fountain was a little, female Poliwag. Naota was seven at the time, and he was fascinated with Pokemon. He took the Poliwag to school and they've been partners ever since. When Naota was traveling Orre, Poliwag found herself evolving into Poliwhirl. Naota was pleased with Poliwhirl and they continued their journey. And while swimming in the ocean in Orre, Poliwhirl came across many Water Stones at the ocean floor. She wanted to show Naota the shiny stones, so she grabbed one to bring back. When she touched the stone, she started evolving into Poliwrath. Naota saw the water light up and dove in right away to see if Poliwhirl was ok. Instead of seeing a Poliwhirl, he saw a fully evolved Poliwrath. Naota realized the Water Stones underwater and was happy that his little girl was now a Poliwrath. Pokemon #2: Smeargle [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/4/4a/Spr_5b_235.png[/img] Smeargle was found in the Orre Region as one of the imfamous Shadow Pokemon. Naota's father found it causing trouble around Phence City. He caught it and it soon became a normal Pokemon. Naota's father gave Naota the Smeargle soon after. Pokemon #3: Venusaur [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/6/68/Spr_5b_003_m.png[/img] When Naota was in the Kanto Region, he met Professor Oak, who gave him a Bulbasaur. Naota was pleased with his new Pokemon and started training him right away. Bulbasaur didn't evolve til the end of Naota's adventure in Kanto. When Naota went to Johto, Bulbasaur was an Ivysaur. Ivysaur was sent back to Naota's home, where Naota keeps his excess Pokemon that he catches. But towards the middle of his Johto journey, he got Ivysaur back in his roster. He soon evolved into Venusaur. Pokemon #4: Gothitelle [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/e/e6/Spr_5b_576.png[/img] When Naota was in Unova, a wild Gothorita attacked him thinking he was trying to harm her little sister, Gothita. Naota didn't touch the Gothita and left. He met the two Pokemon again soon after the first time. This time, he caught both of them. He sent Gothita back home, but kept Gothorita with him. She soon evolved. Pokemon #5: Hydreigon [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/6/62/Spr_5b_635.png[/img] Deino caused tons of trouble for Naota once he caught him. Deino would get lost almost everytime it was released from it's Pokeball and fail to return most of the time. When Deino evolved into Zweilous, he started to mature. Then Zweilous evolved into Hydreigon. Hydreigon is pretty strong and even KO'd two of the Unova champion's Pokemon! Pokemon #5: Hippowdon [img]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a5/Spr_5b_450_m.png[/img] Naota found Hippowdon the region he came from, Orre, as a man was collecting many Pokemon to share with others. Hippowdon was very stubbon. Soon after the "Pokemon Zoo" opened, Hippowdon escaped and ran away into Orre. Naota went straight to the desert and founf Hippowdon there with a female Hippowdon. The female Hippowdon's owner appeared taking back her Pokemon. Naota continued to catch the Hippowdon, who stuck to Naota as a friend.
