I'm not sure if this thread has already been created, if so, I am sorry.

So recent news has been released that Sonic Adventure 2 will be comeing to Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network.

From what I hear it will be in the fall of 2012. There seems to be a date that everyone believes it will be released which is October 3rd.

The estimated price would seem to be 800 "points" for the game and 400 "points" for the "Battle" installation.

Sonic Adventure 2 was my favorite Sonic game of all time, and I'm extremely excited about it.

So, discuss?

This was my second GameCube game, only behind Melee.
I got it in 2nd Grade and didn't beat it 'til 7th. (#$%^&!@ Security Hall, &**!@~%# it!)
I got all the A Ranks with Sonic and Shadow 2 years after that, and realized it would be nearly impossible to get all the others.
I had a Chao with 99 in every stat, but I never made it Chaos level; I even transfered it over to Sonic Adventure DX to get those Emblems.

This is the best 3D Sonic game. The best one.
I still wonder what would have become of the series if Shadow had stayed dead...

If Shadow stayed dead... I actually never thought of that, its possible Dr.Eggman could have found him years later, and transformed his remains to "Metal/Mecha" Shadow. Resembleing alot like Metal Sonic?

Or it's possible the earth would have been destroyed by Blackdoom. I personally don't think sonic alone could have taken on Devil Doom by himself.

I hated the Tails/Eggman levels.
But Rouge and Knuckles added something different that I liked.

Sonic needs to follow a simple formula of "Use a lot of platforming that only allows you to go fast if you're good at it."

Really. Having just a rollercoaster ride has been an unfortunate end result of the 3D games. If they can get away from that and make it so that you can't just blast through and that you need to play well to move faster, they'll make the best 3D sonic game.

Colors actually did this really well, honestly, I think Colors might have been the best of the 3D games... except for the final boss fight.

If only they made it so that when you crash into a robot, you don't just fly through it. Maybe a comic *SMACK* to the face.

[/quote]Fast paced gameplay is really important, but by that same logic, every 3D Sonic game has it right. This is why I suggested that one should only be able to go fast if they're good at the platforming. What this will require is good base mechanics, something Sonic games have been lacking of recently. Good platforming design and such is also very important.

Chao Gardens are a good idea, but they should be designed to be accessed from the Main Menu, thereby not making it a challenge to get to them. Minigames will probably also be included in this. We don't want them scattered within any hubworlds, of course. F*CK HUBWORLDS.

Alternate directions is also important, but for once I'd like it if it felt like I was going in completely different directions than several pathways that go one way. It looks expansive, but it's really just restrictive.

Camera needs work as well.

Ah, Generations.

I beat it in about 4 hours. Was gonna return it the day I bought it too, if I hadn't mixed up what games were in what cases.

It was pretty good actually, but damn it, SEGA, put more into your game if you're gonna sell it for $60.
