Because. Venoms. You know you want to. [6/??]

I really liked the Venoms when they came out. I wanted to play a deck for them, but when I tried them out in the games they were, disappointing. No where near as good as I thought they'd be. I think they have potential to be a real good deck with some good support.

Let me know what you think.

EDIT: Can anyone help with an added effect for Apophis?

Can be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 2 "Venom" monsters from your Graveyard. Once per turn: You can send 1 "Venom" monster from your Deck to your Graveyard; place 2 Venom Counters on 1 monster your opponent controls.

Monsters with a Venom Counter(s) on them have their effects negated. When your opponent enters their Battle Phase: You can send 1 "Venom" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; all "Venom" monsters cannot be destroyed by battle until the End Phase.

You can discard this card to add 1 "Venom Swamp" from your Deck to your hand. If there is no face-up "Venom Swamp" on the field, destroy this card.

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Once per turn, when a "Venom Swamp" is destroyed: You can banish 2 other "Venom" monsters from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. When this card attacks a monster: Inflict damage to your opponent for each Venom Counter on that monster (if any) x400.

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Can be Special Summoned from your hand or Graveyard by destroying a Field Spell Card on the field. During your opponent's Standby Phase, inflict damage to their Life Points equal to the number of Venom Counters on the field x300. You can only control 1 "Venom Drought Stinger".

Select 1 Reptile-Type monster you control. While it remains on the field, its ATK and DEF are doubled. Your opponent can choose to negate this effect. If they do, send 1 card they control to the Graveyard.

I feel that Quetz has too low ATK for its level, you should consider boosting it to at least 2400 or moving it down to level 5 or 6. Should also note you write ; and not : as sending a Venom monster to the Graveyard is a cost. Also, the Special Summon effect does not indicate from where you can Special Summon it.

As for Snake Hair: I feel she is too slow and Venom monsters are best off trying to generate Venom counters normally so Venom Swamps works its magic (Get it? Magic? as in...Spell are...oh whatever. My opinion: you should change her so she does something WITH the venom counters you already have on the field (as they have few uses aside from venom swamp.

hm. 2400 atk sounds good to me. and i hadn't noticed i'd forgotten the (from your hand) part of his special summoning effect. it is a : (colon), suggesting a cost instead of a ; (semicolon). so maybe you saw wrong or something.

Hmm. I don't think its that slow. The Venoms normal effects to produce counters is slower in my opinion. I did however think of making 1 (or all) monsters with Venom counters not being able to attack during the battle phase by revealing 1 venom monster in your hand. how's that seem?

: (Colon) is to indicate a card's condition [Like: Once per turn, if you destroy a monster by battle:...], ; (Semi-colon) indicates a cost [Like: ...Pay 1000 Life Points;...).

"Once per turn, if you destroy a monster by battle: Pay 1000 Life Points; draw 1 card" Like that.

Anyways, I think Snake Hair overall doesn't help Venom monsters enough. I mean, the attack negation requires you to hold back some monsters in your hand and it doesn't really assist her effect (as you negated the battle, the monster never battled). A better effect is to make all Venom monsters immune to battle destruction (Helps some other Venom monsters place their counters).

Make it discard a card to prevent the destruction. It means it isn't OP, but it does help keep them alive to generate more counters. I do think Snake hair is a bit slow, since, she lacks any other method of giving out Venom Counters. Which, as Venom either rush Vennomoaga, or Venom burn where i normally play, means the deck loses it a bit. The first doesn't need anything else on the field, and the send to the grave effect of the first card benifits an auwful lot. The second wants an awful lot of counters, very, very, quickly. And this is just slow... At least to me.

love the first card though. Exactly what Venom decks love. Filling the grave whilst poisoning.
