@Mako: Backdoors FTW! It was sorta sad that DIG couldn't win a game besides what ended up basically being a Nasus cheese strat. That's not to say they didn't play that game well, it's just...Nasus living at 100 hp to kill a nexus while being chased around by Lee Sin isn't exactly a deeply planned game-winnging strategy.

 

@Tenta: Nope. ETA for the update is Soon(tm). I've heard it's not in update 4.15, at least.

Anyway, I assume most/all of you saw the rather...surprising announcement yesterday. If you haven't:

Yes, there's a new champion, like, 2 weeks after Gnar came out. He looks really cool, IMO. I like the idea of his playstyle being "I'm the friggin' emperor. I don't autoattack, that's what servants are for!". Plus his passive is interesting to say the least, and Emperor's Divide is like the coolest name for a thing ever.

Ok, Azir seems like such a FUN champion.

 

I mean, before that, he seems like a such a difficult champion to use. Managing your Sand-soldiers seems kinda tricky, abilities that take skill to use, and having to freakin' AUTO ATTACK KITE as an AP MID?

 

Sounds amazing! I love the turret passive, which is an idea I've been dabbling around with. Q seems useful, E is useful, R is AMAZING to zoning Baron/Dragon pit fighting.

 

I am so excited. Nevermind that Gnar garbage, Azir is where it's at.

No mentions on Azir Being the Lol Equivalent of Mega Ultra Chicken in a Yugioh based site? really?


Apart from the face the resemblance is minor IMO.

Anyway about Azir, he seems fun. I hope Riot continue to release new champions and rework old ones as hastily as this.

I misjudged my time, and came in after LMQ won round 1. But holy geez that was an AMAZING bunch of games! I was bouncing up and down and all around the whole time. Super stoked that my favorite team is going to worlds!

 

One disturbing trend I've noticed, though. I know this has been obvious for a while now, but it seems like almost every single one of these games revolve around Tristana. Like, match 5, I was biting my nails since TSM didn't ban Trist, leaving it open. Then I cheered with exhilaration when Ryze was the first pick, with TSM picking up Trist and Nami. I just knew that, with those picks, victory would be secured.

 

So, we all happen to know that recent changes to both Trist and Marksman items caused her to become the way she is now, but the question is how do we deal with it? Is she just OP, and in need of some major nerfs/reworks? Do Marksman items need to be adjusted again? Or do players just not know how to deal with her?

TSM ruined my perfect playoff predictions :C. I mean, C9 did too but.

Yeah, Trist was crazy in all the TSM LMQ games. I used to think all the people calling her OP were overreacting, but now I'm not so sure. Still great games though.

Of course, C9 vs Curse was disappointing, but at least it means that the kings on NA just in time for worlds. Gotta have C9 on point to rek the Korean nubs.

...Using Xerath is super fun and enjoyable. I love hitting max-range Q's.

 

...However, I rarely ever WIN games with Xerath.

 

Example: Game I just played. Xerath vs Yasuo. Early trading proceeds as usual, we both chunk each other to about the same. But once Lee starting ganking, I won lane handily. Getting kills, roaming when needed, shoving. Ended 13/7/13.

 

However, it was clear something was amiss early one, when our Lucian/Leona lane began losing to Tristana/Blitz. Sure, we were still winning the match pretty well, and Trist couldn't make too many plays. But then it all just sorta fizzled out. Chasing too hard, getting caught out... our team did all the wrong things. Pretty soon, Trist was fed, the enemy Yasuo was coming back, the enemy Kha'Zix was a playmaker. I did my best, but it was too much.

 

Now, don't get me wrong. I made some dumb decisions. I had some bad mechanics. For example, do you know how easy it is to whiff a Xerath combo? Especially against something like a Yasuo, I found myself using my E, missing, then using my W and Q right after... and missing them both. I feel bronze every time I do it. But sometimes it just FEELS like there's nothing I can do, no matter how well I play. I try to roam, I warning ping, I call dragons, but it all goes up in flames.

 

Remember, I'm not trying to blame my team for losing games. At all. I'm at fault a LOT. Like that one time I went 1/8 as Xerath. Boy, that game sucked. But anyway, is there ANYTHING I can do to stop this solo que stuff?

 

Another thing that super bugged me. Our Lee Sin was building damage when we need another tank, and I asked him about it. Like so:

 

"Wait

Lee

Why are you building damage?

x_x"

 

And then he decided to call me out for being passive-aggressive, and Lucian agreed. Come on, guys. That ain't cool.

Watching the games with TSM fans is so much more fun than watching it alone.

 

Especially when one guy keeps getting angry with Turtle.

 

Also, since I'm just learning this game, will any folks mind playing with me against bots? :<
