The world has begun to change, entering the dawn of the next century mankind faces the revelation of it's own power. Formerly the unanimous masters of your kind, guardians of nobility and tradition have served as vanguards of order and progress for a millennium. Now as industry has flourished, there are those who have deemed the world fit for those who made themselves worthy driven by machine and gold. History has yet to be written, as the final year of peace draws to a close as 1899 emerges. Dictated by fate, the power and responsibility of seizing time has been relinquished and it's heir will be decided.

The beginning of 20th century demands a higher form of humanity, it is this reason the Game has come to fruition. Hosted by Time himself, 12 individuals are chosen to wield the power of History and those who came before them. You who bears the clockwork on their person, you have one year. Harness the power of Heroes and Gods; sever the sky, churn the seas, and conquer the lands for your future is just and demands the sacrifice. Foster your allies, destroy your enemies, and take responsibility for your actions... for you are no longer human, you are something more. Prepare, focus, and ready yourself; for the war will begin in Paris...
King's Game is an occurrence that has appeared one year before the start of each century for as long as anyone could remember. The game has usually been dominated by noble families even if the selected are peasants; they are used by the bloodlines by proxy. Victory has long been sought after by those who know about it for one important reason, its ability to rewrite fate and time. Winners of the game have been known to become grand Kings that usher in Golden Ages, Conquerors of no rival, Wealthier than anyone before, change the course of the world, and rumored to even bring back the dead.

The time is December 1898, a few days before 1899 and the beginning of the game which lasts a full year. However each mark appears a full month before the game, so each Artificer has time to prepare one way or another.

Note: The full details of the game are not automatically gifted to the Artificer, they obtain rules either through their patron who has researched and prepared to take on a champion or if solo... hopefully you found out by coincidence or you're out of luck and at the disadvantage.

The purpose of the game has always been to find those who are most worthy of its awesome power for two reasons: to make purposeful use of the prize and ensure that its victor will one way or another change the world and guide it continuously forward.

The difference now is that the monopoly of traditional power is being challenged by the new powers brought about by industry and technology. Nobility fear that the new blood may find a champion and abuse the power not only severely weakening their long-standing influence but also cripple the world by irresponsible use. The businessmen and innovators who have recently discovered the game have prepared, making use of the game's prize could accelerate the world forward and believe the bloodlines use would prevent further progress and fear they'd attempt to use it to recapture the "good ol' days" in a retrograde of the world.

Now the two sides both seek a champion, an artificer they can support with artifacts and resources in return for a say in or influence in their victory's wish.
The duration of Eternity Game lasts from January 1[sup]st[/sup], 1899 to December 31[sup]st[/sup], 1899
12 Individuals are selected and gifted with the ability to mimic the abilities and characteristics of various legends and heroes via physical contact with an artifact of the original owner.
1) Those with the properties of a hero, has their actual abilities more accurately reflect their legacy and rumor than reality.
2) Following the conclusion of the game, the last surviving Artificer will receive the power of history and for one desire be able to rewrite the lines of fate and past to grant any wish and usher in the coming century how he/she sees fit.
3) An artificer can only be considered lost from the game by;
a. The death of the Artificer

b. Exemption is granted by the Archiver because of inability to compete or other reason

c. If an Artificer has gone 31 consecutive days without use of an Artifact, this rule is to prevent those who would attempt to escape their role. Warning: Loss in this manner is subject to direct judgment by the Archiver.

Those who bear the clock mark gained the ability to harness the power and abilities of Artifacts original owners. Artifacts are normally obtained through coincidence or patronage of those with political or monetary power. These Artifacts power range from E-class to A-class, E being those items of an average citizen, D being those of more recent or weak legends, C being those of relatively well known stories or legend, B are artifacts of heroes with supernatural properties or divine ability, A artifacts are those of polytheistic gods or grand legends, there are also rumored to exist S-rank artifacts of power unfathomable to mankind however one has never been found.

The power an artificer can derive from these items depends on the rank of the artifact and how well the owner can synchronize with the original owner. At high ranks of synchronization, an artificer can even surpass the original limits of the owner and it is rumored mentally communicate with the spirit of it's hero.

Example: A person with mastery of D-class artifact would stand a firm chance against a novice with a B-rank artifact.

Note: Creativity is nice, a strong artificer may be able to wield a B-rank artifact but may choose to dual-wield two separate D-rank artifacts.
Though the past 5 years, Adam’s demeanor has grown darker finding little solace in the peace and modesty of his home and family. A trait, he has deemed unfortunate but necessary to his goal.

Biography: Saying Adam was born into the world privileged would be over simplifying the circumstances. Born of his lower housed nobility in Westphalia, he was gifted to a title not so much worth. Childhood memories of his father were nearly non-existent, as he was raised as most with education and shelter his father was troubled by the emerging unification of Germany. As the finalization of the country came to close, the Voss’s ended up on the losing side of nobility to enter the new country as it lost most privilege and was unable to adapt to the new industry based economy. Offering refuge, Adam’s mother’s family still in her native country of England offered to bring them over. Adam was then forced into a private school to continue his education; his father both fortunate and persuasive enough to land a government job was able to support them in this alien country. Having overstated his previous standing in the Germanic nobility, Wilhelm was able to climb the social ladder securing his family’s place in their new home country.

After his graduation from schooling at 16, Adam left his father on poor terms. His father had been devoted to rebuilding some ideal past from the home country, a dream not shared by his son. Adam found work disguising his identity how keeping his noble demeanor to serve as a representative for a budding textile company. There Adam found his passion with working with people, his ability to charm and deceive for a net good. The textile company grew by more than 400% over the course of 2 years due primarily to its owner Jonathan Lyne who took interest in Adam’s excelling performance for him company. The next year was the most successful for Adam, who grew close to the old man and improved his overseas connections. His need to upkeep the growth pressured Adam to search for revenue from shadier sources, which proved reliable and created connections to the European underground that would serve him for years to come.

At the age of 20, Jonathon Lyne passed away and through his will left 82% of the company’s shares to Adam. Adam took his shares in stride; his years of practice in the industry had made him well versed in the ways of the 1880’s economic model. Embracing the power of owning a majority of the company, Adam introduced controversial changes of cutting-edge machinery for unrivalled efficiency increasing profits. Seeing fit now to make public his last name, the Voss family, was now deemed as a powerful figure in English political and economic landscape with his aging father growing to high advisor. This fact however did not ease their relationship, as Adam’s father grew angry towards his son for his abandonment of what he deemed his family duty.

At the age of 23, Adam Voss was the owner of the biggest foreign export company in Brittany, France, a domestic distribution business based out of Birmingham, and his original textile company which he inherited now serving as the sole provider of military clothing to the colonies. Deciding to settle down, Adam sold a major portion of his stock in all of his companies for a large sum much to the dismay of his father. At this time, Adam met the daughter of an influential politicking family the Harpers whom he feel in love with. Her father who forbade their love at first, promised Adam if he quick his unstable past of fast wealth, low guarantee entrepreneurship he would allow for their marriage. Adam agreed and ran for representative in the House of Lords, which was not only successful but also eased his relationship with his father who approved of both his marriage and career in politics.

It’s at this point in his life, Adam developed, secure with both influence and the large wealth of he had accumulated. His wife, Emma, recounted countless nights of Adam leaving on unscheduled trips overseas for weeks on end, sleepless nights hovering over old tomes and passages in his study. Adam asked her to trust her. They had their first child not long after their marriage, and Adam entrusted most of the raising duties to his wife as he continued on his odd trips. It was 2 years ago Adam learned of Eternal Game, having learned about it after a long hunt for the scattered library of the House of Bourbon who’s possessions were either sold or destroyed by the French Revolution. Finally, his search was rewarded; Adam believing the stories began to gather artifacts from all over the world from his shadowy connections even through unsavory means and establishing an information network to ensure he would be able to serve one of the twelve.

Now that his services have found a host in November, Adam prepares himself for the road ahead along with his most trusted allies. With unknown purpose and a shadowy past years, to what end is the self-made man of London prepared to go to seek victory?

Personality: Bartholomew was born into a dark world, a world that has shaped him into his adulthood. His stances of seriousness on nearly every aspect of life are easily reflected to those he meets. It is rare he shows any compassion since he’s youth and what emotion he does show is usually ruthlessness and rage. He is completely intolerate of those who make light of death and life. His familiarity with old ways show as he is very reluctant of new machines and is a strong supporter of the limitations of humanity quoiting, they fly too close to the sun, however it should be noted his love for the piano and music.

Biography: There are those who are born in the light, given futures they can either see or forge, Moreau was not one of those. From his birth, his life was decided. The Paladins, a secret branch of the Catholic Church, those who from childhood are made into weapons with undying loyalty to the Vatican and the goal of reestablishing the ideal past of the church before science and industry. After the French Revolution, it became clear the Vatican that it could no long rely on its champion nations to impress its will on the colonies and European mainland. Finding refuge in the stories of Apostles, shadowy vanguards of the church from the days of old, masters of their physical bodies, the Pope secretly issued a command to reestablish the underground organization.

This was the society that raised Moreau, taught him the art of death and simplicity of the world. This was the world of darkness, but to Bartholomew, it was the only light. He grew attached to his teachers no matter how harsh their teaching methods, he was not taught what was right and wrong, rather who was wicked and who was just. As he aged, his body grew strong and his missions became assigned. At the age of 13, Moreau killed his first man, his knife piercing the space between the 3[sup]rd[/sup] and 4[sup]th[/sup] left ribs. The days were short then, he never knew why he was ordered to do what he did, just that what he did was right. In these years, Moreau was happy.

However like all good things, no matter how warped, they grow to otherwise. On a routine assassination, Moreau’s bullet tore through a rather aristocratic man as his daughter coincidently walked into the room. She was not supposed to be here, he thought. He watched as the young girl about his age mourned over her father’s quickly fading body. Moreau escaped, though the scene stuck with him. He had always been told his targets were wicked, why did she mourn him? When he confronted his superior about this, he was detained in solitary for a week. He managed to be released by lying that he had forgotten the incident. Why did he lie to his superiors, those closest to him?

Bartholomew was 19 at the time the seat of the Pope changed. The change of leader was dramatic about his changes, upon discovery of his assassination organization he ordered an immediate disband of the group stating that an order of God does not reside in the shadows. Moreau was there, as Vatican guards marched on the facility razing his home to the ground. Bartholomew managed to escape the persecution of the Church that captured a few of his kind and offered them to national justice and execution in return for favor. Moreau could not be angry about this, because he didn’t know how to feel, for the first time in his life he had no direction or someone to tell him what to do.
Homeless on the outskirts of Lyon, Bartholomew barely managed to survive by stealing food however the guards had caught him and were able to chase him out of town. Barely conscience and in deep hunger, a miraculous event took place as a horse and carriage stopped in front of him. He remembered an elegant pale hand extended out to him, he took it.

His next memory was of Moreau awaking in a large luxurious bed, the walls embellished with fortune he had only seen in his exploits with the most powerful men. Moving now, Bartholomew met raveled down the lavish home, hearing a majestically played piano. He followed the music to find a young women playing it, her familiarity sent chills down his spine. As she continued playing, she spoke; she told that she had been looking for him for over a year. She was the girl whom had witnessed Bartholomew murder her father. She admitted she later discovered her father was a rather cruel man involved with severely illegal relations. She never knew how to feel about him but decided to look for him anyways.

Bartholomew unaccustomed with social interaction merely apologized as he was unable to think what he should say. The girl offered him to play the piano with her, reluctant as Moreau was never taught such things was forced after she insisted. She laughed as his fingers inelegantly pressed the keys and his utter lack of musical ability. She told him, she would like him to stay until he learned to play with her. The days went on like that for a while, he discovered her name was Lily and Bartholomew continued living as a guest forcing her to accept that he help the maids and workman around the house to contribute. Lily learned of Bartholomew who told her of the past he enjoyed with names and situations that he made him feel at home. Lily enjoyed his stories and she responded with her own of her late Mother noting her absentee father every once and a while. Still, she taught him to play the piano.

Nearly a year passed like this in Lily’s home, Bartholomew grew to be rather good on the piano but more importantly, he was developing feelings for his host. These were days of peace, as the two grew close. Bartholomew even went with Lily to her social events to maintain her family name; also she admitted to him she hated the crowd. On one occasion, she was asked her relation to Bartholomew and she responded as her fiancée. Bartholomew met with Lily in the courtyard that night, and confessed his feelings his face practically red. She confessed she felt the same, that since they met even under such unusual circumstances she grew to understand him and eventually even she fell in love. That night they arranged to have the lie of their betrothal, be truth.

It wasn’t 2 weeks after they’re confession; Bartholomew was out in town grocery shopping to aid in preparation of dinner for Lily. He ran across a man in black, an emblem on his jacket stunned him where he stood. It was an emblem of the Paladins, a survivor of the order. His recognition of Bartholomew was immediate as he enthusiastically approached him, questioning him about how he escaped and what he had been doing to get by. Bartholomew kindly asked him to leave as he ran off in the other direction. That night as he was in the manor, the thought of Bartholomew finding another one of his own kind echoed in his mind. As he and the chief fostered dishes over fire and pans, an ominous sound rang throughout the house.

Bartholomew was quick to investigate, although it felt like he was slowing to a crawl. His arm reached to open to the dining hall, the man in black stood there, gun in hand. He looked at Bartholomew delusional, shouting how she was mocking him by telling him how Bartholomew was a kind honest person now not the honed killer from before. Moreau gazed down to see Lily her clothes stained red. Something broken inside Bartholomew as he rushed the man in black like a demon from hell his hand crushing against his opposite’s rib cage causing the man in black to flee as he struggled to recover from losing his balance.

Now in devastated, Bartholomew kneeled beside Lily’s lifeless body, her eyes vacant a single tear litter her cheek. Bartholomew knew all good things end; he didn’t let himself see it. He was man born into the shadows, he was not allowed to have a future… to be happy… to love. The last of Bartholomew was killed too that day, never having his own family name he took on is love’s, Moreau. He left that night. After 2 days, the man in black was found. His body crucified against an alleyway wall, he had been beaten and tortured with no other purpose than to cause pain. Bartholomew was left alone again, only he did have a goal. He wanted to destroy the world he was born into, rid this place of that dark world.

Leon has always been the oddball out of his family and friends. He always had his sights set on his future instead of it being set on the present. Some just called him a 'Dreamer' while others just called him 'Crazy'...but either way, the remarks were ignored. But this is all now, a short trip to the past might help out with Leon's story.

Young Leon Boyle was born and raised in Arizona, U.S.A. His parents loved him dearly, but it was only short lived...as tragedy struck the Boyle family hard. A week after he was born, someone had murdered his parents in the middle of the night. He survived, as he was being babysat by his aunt and uncle. When news reached them, they took it upon themselves to raise young Leon. And they did a pretty good job of doing it too.

As the years passed, Leon grew up with his aunt and uncle, understanding what happened. Though strangely enough, unlike others who would be told about their parents death, Leon just continued to live with that fact. It was almost as if he decided that it really didn't matter who raised him. In all honesty, Leon was hurt on what happened to his parents...but he thought of his aunt and uncle being his mom and dad now. He continued to live his life, excelling in his work, having time for his normal parkour events which happened to be his favorite hobby.

Years later, about the year he turned eighteen, he found a specific artifact that would change his life forever. And with finding this gem, he was selected to join 'Eternity's Game' when the Clock symbol appeared on the back of his left hand. Once done, the user rushes forward as he puts his hands together in a triangle position. As the user uses the "Light Speed" technique, electricity envelops the user, making an electric dragon. This technique is a last resort, as it uses up quite enough of the gem's electric energy.[/background]

Leon discovered the gem by mistake when he found it in a nearby river. When he showed his friends and family, they were all unsure what it was, even the history books never mentioned anything about it. After a week, the Clock symbol appeared on the back of his left hand, choosing him to partake in 'Eternity's Game'. Then he met someone who gave him insight on what this gem was.[/background] "Date Masamune No Hōseki", its what is was called when Leon came face to face with Evan Toshiki, an American/Japanese born citizen who majored in Japanese history and mythology. After this fated meeting, Leon was asked by Evan to partake in 'Eternity's Game' as his representative, with him being Leon's Patron.

~Leon's last name is a Royal surname given to the British "Earl of Cork". However, he is in no way actually related to the "Earl of Cork" Boyle family.

[spoiler: Personality:] Batel suffers from what some would cal detachment disorder. He does not see the value in things that do not necessarily pertain to him. Others would call this being a brat though he isn't malicious with it he just can't recognize anything that doesn't directly belong to him as something important. His behavior tends to be distant to anything that is down right amusing or his parents have not expressly told him to be attentive of. He does not exude arrogance as one might think in fact he is very humble which tends to lead people to a lot of confusing places with his mannerisms. Being an aristocrat he of course knows how to socialize and brown nose those who require such things thus are the teachings of the Le'Pendu clan. Also with his aristocratic nature and proper family upbringing he is well versed in the pomp and circumstance that comes with nobility. On the lighter side of things Batel has a love for the spring and is always yearning for beautiful landscape scenery and will always attempt to be secluded with such scenery. This leads to long walks on the beach or the typical single hill in the tree side etc.

[spoiler: Biography:] The Le'Pendu family have seem to be a family of nobles since the beginning of time. The founder of the family or Batel's Great[sup]9[/sup] grandfather who started the family was a grain merchant in the olden days. It was he that started what we would now refer to as "unionized" the merchants in his small town. It was this ability to rally the people that got him notice and not killed. In those times the king of France was having his sporadic bouts with the Tudors so it was good to have a man who could help run the land while the king was away signing treaties with the Spanish. It was then that Hiero Le'Pendu started his family and they have been respected and held close to the court ever since.

Fast forward to today the family has taken quite an ignoble turn. It still retains the pomp and circumstance of nobility but no more are they the confident leaders as before. Those kind of people are not needed, for they may usurp, now the family act as more as the secret executioners and doer of bad deeds for the royal family. This is the will of Hermite Batel's grandfather and current head of the family. Hermit is one of those classic any means necessary types and the ends will always justify the means. Unfortunately for the rest of society he is not alone in that aspect. Whether it have been something in the water or just the powers of change the entire family has become rather villainous and sneaky. No one knows of their evil ways but a lot of the murders in France could be contributed to the Le'Pendu's after all the name does me the Hanged Man. Nevertheless when Batel was young toddler he was treated like all other toddlers of royalty, spoiled rotten. Everything was given to him just so he wouldn't cry. Discipline would come much later and much harder in the form of rigorous etiquette lessons, dance lessons, and fencing lessons. So its natural that Batel turned out the way he did. Conflicted.

Fun fact about the Le'Pendu's is that they are sore losers and they have perpetually lost at "Games" and this is before the advent of industry and steel. The Le'Pendu usually pools their resources with other noble families and try to support a candidate to rewrite history. Hermite came up with a fantastic theory, which would later be repeated by other European countries and ripple throughout history. Instead of supporting your person damage the competitors. Thus led to the advent of opium. When Batel was only a toddler he, his mother (direct descendant of Heiro) and father (married into the family) took a trip to Japan. While his parents talked about the distribution of drugs with crime lords and filthy men. He was blissfully enjoying the scenery and the landscape. It was on this trip that he watched the simple joys of paper folding. From then on he was hooked on the simple beauty of life.

Eventually time passes to present day and while the success of the opium plan has yet to be determined the family continues to make investments in this new steel industry. Better to be ahead of the curve than behind it. On the fateful night the clock insignia had appeared on Batel his grandfather, who clearly looks like a vampire at this point, saw it as a sign of providence.
List of Abilities Associated with Artifact: The book itself allows the owner to treat all inorganic matter like paper and can then fold such inorganic matter into any form of weapon that the user may see fit. This is not limited to swords, daggers, shields etc. This would appear to outsiders as alchemy being performed with one hand. Bladed weapons formed like oragami can cut anything that is made of a material less dense than themselves. without any resistance like butter. From then whatever has been cut can now be deconstructed and flattened till it is a foldable square these squares can be folded to retain any shape that one could fold into. For example. If the sword is made of a very thick and dense steel it can cut lamp post with no difficulty. This lamp post once cut in half is now in the control of the artificer. It can be broken down and flattened into squares and then said squares can be folded into paper cranes. Said paper cranes can be mentally controlled to attack the enemy. They still retain their metal structure as they are still made from a lamp post. If the sword were to cut a wall it would only be able to effect the a 5x5 area around the slash and only as deep as the slash went. Finally the sword has no effects when it comes to flesh it is a regular sword when it comes to flesh.

When Batel's clock symbol first revealed itself his grandfather was stopped everything and the family had to go to the treasure and grab everything they believed to be an artifact. There were treasures from ancient Greece, the Mayans, the Incans, some uncharted new worlds, but it was this sword that Batel's parents picked from their trip to Okinawa so long ago that resonated with him. Place of Birth: Hong Kong Island, Imperial Great Britain, West Colonial District (primarily Chinese side)
He is similar in build to Elfman of Fairy Tail, as far as musculature and skin tone goes. As a matter of fact, his preferred clothes are similar as well, except they are a very dark gray, almost black, in color. He wears these becaus(as his bio mentions) he is originally from china and these were the clothes given to him when he first arrived here. To elaborate, they are a button up robe/overcoat, long pants and combat boots. They are what he feels the most comfortable wearing. His hair is short, but quasi-spiked-up. It is dirty blonde, which contrasts with his mildly dark-olive skin tone. He has deep brown eyes with highlights of hazel in them. His facial expression is most commonly one of indifference, though this does not reflect his inner feelings. His body, except for the majority of his head and neck, is covered in scars from past battle experiences. If he removes his shirt, most people around are often shocked at the number of them on his torso, which is somewhere around 50 noticeably-sized scars (including front and back of torso).

He is socially maladjusted, meaning that his perceptions of normality, abnormality, emotions, appropriateness, etiquette and the like are far removed from ours (due to his upbringing). In conversation he will often get caught staring off into the distance instead of paying attention. He still hears what the person he is conversing with is saying and is actually listening quite intensely, most of the time. However, he is still unaccustomed to proper social behavior. Despite the constant look of indifference on his face, he is quite congenial and prefers the company of others over solitude. Even just being around people is enough to satisfy him; no conversation has to ever actually occur at all. His sense of humor is...poorly timed and executed, for the most part. This can result in the offense of others around him without him even understanding what is going on in the minds of others because his just simply does not work in the same way. He is the opposite of short-tempered but very serious when the situation calls for it in the slightest. He is very adept at sensing another person's intentions and/or hostility, despite whatever facade they might be attempting to wear. He has no trust issues because he is desensitized to the humanity of most people. If he suspects betrayal, he will not hesitate to take care of the potential threat (again, due to the childhood in the bio). He is very likely to follow the advice of anyone he perceives as wise, as such individuals mesmerize him.

Johnathan's father was a member of the traveling party for the English Ambassador to China in the late 1870s. During his time there, he met a Chinese woman who he courted and she eventually had his child. As it turns out, Johnathan's father (who was also named Johnathan, the child's namesake) had a wife and two daughters back in Britain. Since this child was illegitimate and out of wedlock, the father decided to just slip out into the night, unnoticed. He did leave the mother of his son a letter telling her that he would leave and gave her a sum of money to help her raise the child. After her son's birth, she named him after his father, Johnathan Carmichael, but she inputted a name of Chinese origin as his "middle name" in order that he might remember to appreciate all parts of his heritage.
His mother raised Johnathan until he was 6 years old by herself. However, she had no more money to her name and had been gradually forced to stop eating in order that she might be able to fulfill the needs of her growing son. Eventually, she passed away due to malnutrition and the young Johnathan was on the streets, forced to pickpocket to survive. One day, he heard talk of a new land of promise and opportunity, America. The young boy decided at age 7 to travel to this place and earn himself a better life than what lay for him here. He accepted the only offer he could to gain transport to the new land and was on the ship for days, weeks, perhaps longer.
When the young Johnathan arrived in America, it was nothing at all like he had dreamed. Most of his fellow passengers of the ship were forced into hard manual labor building railroads and other structures in order to pay for their passage. All these passengers were lined up in a queue, and the white men at the front would pick people out and send them to different places for assignment. Occasionally a child near the age of Johnathan would get selected and shoved into the back of a nearby horse-drawn carriage. When it was finally his turn at the front, he, too, was placed in the crowded carriage and hauled off to some nearby city. He had no idea what was in store for him here.
As it turns out, the children were considered too weak to be worth their while mining or building. So the passage-men were forced to figure out a different manner of profit from them. There were two options, both of which involved human trafficking. The first was sex slavery, which was the option most young girls had chosen for them. The second was underground cock-fighting-style gladiator competitions among the younglings. This second option is what was chosen for young Johnathan who, at the time, had no idea how it would shape his life from there-on-out. The child-gladiators were told that if they went twenty-five fights without losing, they would be set free. This did not seem like such an unreasonable achievement to the minds of young children but rest assured: it most certainly was. Many competitors, more like slaves or dogs, fell in that cursed pit of a fighting ring. Child after child was slain in brutal combat, all for the profit of cruel, crooked strangers. One young boy, it seemed, could not lose, however the odds were stacked against him. He was by no means the oldest or largest of the children, but he always managed to win, even when the fights were supposedly rigged against him. As a matter of fact, Johnathan was this boy, the juggernaut of this sunken, decrepit coliseum. He fought again and again. He won again and again. He kept count but when he reached the mark of 25 set by the passage-men, they would not let him go. He did not understand, but he was forced to continue fighting for them. He participated in many bouts. He passed 50 wins. The next milestone that came was 100. Sometime after this last milestone he lost count, however. He had become desensitized to the whole process, to killing, to fairness and unfairness, pain and guilt. These greedy men had robbed him of his humanity. Ownership of Johnathan passed from gambler to gambler as they managed to gamble away their funds and have to sell him or otherwise. This gruesome process continued on, unchanged, until a fateful day when Johnathan was at the newly ripe age of 12. After one of his fights, one of the audience members wanted to speak with the infamous "Juggernaut John". The boy assented, having experienced many of these encounters and knowing how to speak the language and handle himself well enough. The man's name was Aaron Economos, and he, like many before him, had wanted to buy Johnathan. After a brief conversation, the deed was done. However, what this man did was far unlike what any of the other owners had ever conceived. Mr. Economos took the boy out of the filth and squalor of that pit and into his home. It was then that Mr. Economos looked Johnathan straight in the eyes, ripped up his documentation of ownership and told the young man that he would be raised properly and given an education in this man's house; treated like his very own son. The truth was that Aaron did not have a son, only a daughter named Helen. Shocked, Johnathan had no idea how to respond and just stood there in awe.
For years after that, Johnathan's educators attempted to teach him a variety of subjects: arithmetic, etiquette, the natural sciences, economics and history. Unfortunately, he showed a distaste for most of these, save economics and history. When Helen, who he had started developing feelings for had asked him why, he told her he had a passion for those two subjects due to the fact that they are why every war has been started and what happened during said war, respectively. His obsession with all things martial in nature resulted in the hatching of a plot in the mind of Aaron Economos. Aaron, having in the last few decades or so heard of the competition referred to as the King's Game, became very interested in the potential of a prize of the Games' supposed magnitude. Such dividends were too promising to pass up. Following suit, Aaron had Johnathan trained in a variety of martial arts, as well as swordsmanship, archery and other various styles of weaponry-wielding. Leading up to the supposed date of the games, Aaron utilized his connections to find out that in order to be qualified for the King's Game, a participant would need to have possession of an artifact. Economos scoured his possessions, heirlooms, vaults and catacombs. He eventually uncovered what he was trying to find in the first place: the artifact. You see, Economos is of Greek origin and can actually trace his family back to that of Cadmus, the founder of Thebes. His particular line had passed down a prized piece of Cadmus collection and something he had always kept on or near his person. The artifact had no name in Greek, as its existence had been kept a secret by the line of Cadmus. This artifact, in layman's terms, was the Seedhorn of Cadmus, supposedly the horn of the dragon slain by the man which housed the teeth used to plant the seeds that would become the Spartoi. Aaron gave the artifact to John (his chosen name) and told him to keep it in his possession at all times. Taking the words of this seemingly wise man to heart, John did. One day, it so happened that the mark of a clock appeared on the right portion of his upper torso. Immediately after, he felt a mystical power from the artifact at his hip...
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Sexuality: Bisexual
Date of Birth: January 11th, 1880
Augustus has no great, stunning physical features to draw a lot attention to him. He is just slightly taller than what we would know as exactly average height. He is thin, but not overly thin. Compared to most Englishmen, the Rosengold family has slightly darker skin due to their Mediterranean origins, but their Greek blood has been diluted with many generations in England.
Augustus's has wavy, even a bit curly, light brown hair with long bangs combed and gelled/oiled to the side to avoid getting into or covering his sparkly light blue eyes. He has a straight and triangular nose signature to Greeks and a slightly angular chin. Augustus is regarded as rather comely and though most of his value as a potential husband to woman is his inheritance, fame and musical talent.
Augustus wears a typical dark brown Victorian tail coat, usually unbuttoned, over a black waistcoat. Underneath is a tight white wing-collared dress shirt and he has a red bow tie. His tight pants are just slightly darker than his tail coat. Outdoors, on his head usually rests a black top hat.

Augustus's clock mark has shown itself on his tongue, it is silver and flashes in the light. Fortunately Augustus was able to calm people down through his music and avoid great commotion. It was the inspiration for his moniker of Silvertongue.

Viscount Augustus Rosengold was once a quiet reflective child who simply loved music both instrumental and vocal and spent hours to himself indulging in the beauty of sound. He was the type, even when quite young, to spend most of his free time alone composing and playing music. Augustus was undeniably talented and inevitably became very famous. But this got to his head. He liked fame. He like people swarming around him, praising him. He got bolder, he learned to flirt, though he carefully avoided flirting with men in public, and he began to drink a lot due to the vast amount of parties he was invited to. Because of this, his music got drastically worst, he was rude, boastful and was getting on people's nerves.
Fortunately his drinking and distraction from music did not progress any further as the Orphic Cult found him, and he was taught to be confident and braver through their training and trials of initiation. He was once more put onto the path of joy and music, though he is more confident, even boastful sometimes, louder and somewhat more talkative than before.

Viscount Augustus Rosengold was born in his family estate in eastern England. He grew up happy, doted on by his mother, who loved music despite not having the skill to create it herself. She was overjoyed to discover Augustus's prodigious musical talent and hired tutors from all over to teach Augustus from a very young age in music. Augustus did his very best to please his mother and play beautiful music for her. Augustus's little brother, Johann, four years younger than him, was very jealous of Augustus getting most of their mother's attention and thus began a great sibling rivalry.

When Augustus was fourteen, his mother died of a fever of some sort, despite the great efforts of the doctors and both siblings went into a depression. It took a year to overcome and at the end of the year, Johann resolved to become the greatest doctor in the world while Augustus withdrew and became a very private person, composing many songs in his mother's memory.
Part of what brought him out of his depression was the arrival of an orphan in the family. It was the orphaned child of a very distant relative of the royal family who did not get along with the other members. They became good friends and more than just friends.

Alexandria is a general believer in keeping the old ways, and is very old fashioned, but does believe that society must advance technology wise. She is a very unconfrontational person and prefers to stay with people who share her beliefs. In general though she is quite cynical of people, and in an introverted person. Alexandria is very judgmental towards people even if she does not know them, and has a very dark attitude towards life. She is very sarcastic, but at times can be formal and polite if it suits her interests. She has a morbid sense of humor, and will tell jokes most would find extremely disturbing. Alexandria looks at the glass half full and her idea of the world is that if one always thinks the worst will happen, then you will either never be disappointed at worst, and at best pleasantly surprised.

She also regards all people as evil, and gives people very little opening to prove otherwise. She always wishes to point out the bad in things, seeing through the "disguise" of people's selfish ways. She also does not like people who are to proud of their achievements, and she constantly is trying to find ways to put them down. If their is one thing that she dispisses most it is people who are arrogant, and to full of themselves, she tends to avoid these people. She also has a large understanding of philosophy, which often surprises people that she can use this higher form of thinking.

Alexandria is also quite advertent to loud noises or parties, as she is very unfond of crowds as it gives her anxiety. Before attending large gatherings, she must take a pill or she risks fainting. This is ironic as she lives in a very crowded and populous city, though she generally elects to stay indoors anyway. Alexandria pefers if she must attend some form of gathering to stay on the edges of the main crowd, and mainly stays out of social interaction, and unless someone is to talk to her.

Alexandria was born to aristocratic British family, and since she was born has been trained to act like a mature cultured young woman. Even before he became a politician he was a very influential man in British politics, being wealthy he sponsored many politicians who supported his values. Some might see this as corrupt, but he only saw as protecting his interests. As a young girl Alexandria met many of the children of politicians and aristocrats alike, which later in life would help her. At a young age Alexandria was in love with the myths of heroes her father told her, little did she know she was being trained to eventually take her place in her family's long line of participating in the games. When Alexandria was 9 her father became Ambassador of England to the country of Turkey.

When her father became Ambassador, the St. Claire family moved to the city of Istanbul. Here the purchased a large building that could only be compared to a palace. Alexandria became fascinated with all of the beauty that surrounded the new city she called home. Alexandria was a proficient student learning the languages spoken in Istanbul, no cent was spared when it came to Alexandria being an only child she was her parents only heir to place in the games. Although she still didn't know of there existence she began to develop a sense that her parents weren't all they seemed. The fact that she was receiving combat training as a 16 year old was enough to convince there was more to her family's history that what she had been told. She confronted her parents asking what was going, and pointed out many things in her life that hadn't been normal. Her parents simply said its time.

Her father toke her out of the house, and began leading her through back alleys and weaving through the streets of Istabul as he seemed intent on reaching a single point, even to the point when Alexandria asked him were they were going he didn't respond. He seemed to not even hear her, had he payed more attention he may have still been alive. Her normally perceptive father didn't notice the two people on the roof, and he barely looked up to see the bullet pass through his skull. Alexandria's father collapsed in front of her, and she had seen his last moments. It would be then that Alexandria would develop her disturbing sense of humor, as a coping device to keep down the depression set on by her father's death. It was then her mother would take over the helm of teaching Alexandria about the games. Later that while still in shock Alexandria's mother lead her to the small library in their palace.

Alexandria's mother revealed a small metal object, which Alexandria would eventually remember to be their family crest. Her mother inserted the small object into a indent in the wall, and turned. The wall moved away, and a secret doorway revealed. Alexandria's mother revealed that she was the heir to a long line of treasure hunters, and this was their vault. At the head of the room lay a long golden thread, displayed on a dais That her mother explained would be her artifact the legendary Gleipnir. She explained to Alexandria her family's long history of competing in the games, and that she was the next heir to compete. Her mother said the choice was hers whether to compete or not, and Alexandria chose yes. Though she seems as though she wants to win the games, she also seems to have a dark secret, another reason for choosing to participate.
Gender: M
Sexuality: Bi-curious, mostly Hetero. Very Active XD
Date of Birth: 22nd of September, 1872
Place of Birth: Bradford, Yorkshire, England - Great British Empire.
Phillip stands at a reasonably average 5’10, with thin shoulders and a rather thin but sturdy appearance. His body appears to be rather average, slightly thin in fact, at first glance, giving an initial impression of weakness and making many under-estimate him. However, underneath his clothes muscles are shown, and while he may not be ‘ripped’, or any other term you’d like to use, it is obvious that he has strength that did not fit his initial appearance.

He wields a sharp and attractive face, with smooth even skin and a thin nose. He is healthily pale, a common shade for a Yorkshire man of the times, and his hair is a simple dark brown; scruffy and unkempt, medium length and matte. Two simple bangs frame his face, blending into his sideburns and a thin layer of stubble, which encases his thin, cheerful mouth. He has surprisingly well kept teeth, with a pearl white and a glistening smile. His eyes are a dark, forest green, and contrast well with his pale skin to create an incredibly handsome effect.

Generally, he is seen in simple attire, consisting of a pair of loose but fitting jeans and a plain white shirt, covered by a thin leather jacket with many pockets. His feet will often be clad in tough leather running shoes. However, when at important events he is known to...’acquire’ a formal suit, in which he will often scrub up quite well.

As one of his profession, he is required to have a rather daring and excitable
life-threatening situations. And he fills that role perfectly. He is arrogant and self-conceited, being extremely confident in his abilities, and shows a lack of regard for safety; often taking extreme risks for big profit or in dire situations.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. His over confidence can also lead to a high charisma, and he has a certain charm about him that allows him to use said confidence to inspire or befriend others. An exceptional way with words means that he is often able to manipulate the less educated, and he is often very...influential with women. Despite his rather impoverished background, he is able to make himself appear to be of a much higher class merely by manipulating his voice in a certain way, and is capable of gaining eloquence and sophistication in his mannerisms, just as he is capable of acting thuggish and brutal if needs be.

He is rather cunning and deceptive, as one of such a career should be, and his intelligence is much more than it first appears. His manipulative skills are a bi-product of this, and a mix of intelligence, cunning and psychological knowledge allow him to control those that may not have the intellect of one such as him.
He does lack aggression and a violent nature, unusually, which means he often holds back in a fight or something of the like; but he makes up for such a lack of motivation with humour, and due to his carefree nature, he can often laugh away most situations or fights – with a witty pun if he can.

Phillip was born to a relatively poor family in the city of Bradford; child of a mill-worker and a housewife. Now, while the industrial revolution did lead to an increase in wages and pay, by no means did that make life any easier. Phillip struggled with early life, being taught only simple writing and mathematical skills by his parents – despite his apparent talents in such subjects - as they were unable to afford the prices of Education. Instead, he was employed into a simple servant boy job as soon as he turned 7, forcing him to work for a living, as a child.

As you would expect, this was not an ideal situation for a child, and he soon resolved to leave his family and life behind in search of a better life, away from the forced labour and the bad conditions of the Industrial lifestyle. Sadly, he didn’t exactly have the resources to escape the confines of Bradford, and was instead stuck with integrating himself with the gang-life of the city; though that was still a damn-sight better than working as a servant.

And so he found himself ‘adopted’ by a small, young gang of teens, becoming a simple pick-pocket for the group. This small group of children, none older than 17 at most, survived through a lot. And grew. A lot. Within 7 years, this group of Pick-pockets became the top thieves in Britain; the gang expanded exponentially over the years, becoming major thieves within the first 2 years and gaining many members within 5. They stole from anywhere they could: manors, museums, castles, factories; and as a ‘founding member’, Phillip gained a lot of the spoils, alongside becoming one of the best thieves of the group.

They eventually moved onto other places of business - assassination, scouting, etc – and were almost internationally famous by the time Phillip became 20; being hired by royalty or business executives to spy on or assassinate possible threats. And Phillip became one of the top ‘shadows’ in Europe, surpassing pretty much everyone in his gang.

There was one mission a few weeks ago that has particular relevance. The clock mark had appeared on his left shoulder only a day before, and they were committing theft from the British Museum. All was going smoothly, and Phillip got a little confident. As such, he decided to slip into other exhibits, particularly the weapons/armoury. While there, however, he managed to over hear a conversation between two of the Museums higher ups. A conversation about ‘the King’s Games’, and whether the Museum was planning on providing some Artefacts for the ‘Artificers’. Confused, he listened further to the conversation, hearing information about the artificers, and eventually realised he was one himself after hearing them talk about the Clock ‘tattoo’. Still confused about this, he hurried from the museum with a simple bracer and holster, too wrapped up in this Artificer business to realise that he hadn’t really stolen much.

When he returned, he talked with the Gang leader about the game, and while the leader has said he wont get involved, he does have their support if needed, and if they gain any historical artefacts, he can have them for the game.

Okay I'm in and I "reserve" I guess I'm a little confused if you have an artifact are you an artificer and if so what do you put in the Artificer section of the app?
In the game rules, I stated there are only 12 Artificers. Artificers require an artifact because it serves as your weapon allowing only those 12 artificers to mimic and amplify the abilities and characteristics of that artifact's hero or legend.

So only artificers can use artifacts. The first artifact segment of the app is essentially a power segment, choose an item of some historical figure, hero, or legend like I put in the demonstration model. An artifact is a weapon for the artificer.

This looks quite interesting and I would like to reserve a spot if I may. I just need sometime to re-read the first post so that I can understand what's going on. ^^
The gist is to just understand how the game is basically going to work, the setting is 1899 but the story won't start until the IC so just make your bio relevant to the era.

How Artifact is Obtained: Hiden Senbazuru Orikata is a book. The book is said to be the first ever manual on how the perform the art of origami that was invented by Ts'ai Lun a servant to the ancient Chinese emperor.

Derrick can be quite the confident fighter, even bordering on cocky, and is deceivingly strong, but he's yet to understand the limitations of his own physical strength, as well as those of The Rod of Origen. He's also unaware of the exact conditions that are required to be met before the Curse of Skeletal Weakness kicks in, and often throws one too many punches or kicks as a result.

Ever since he was 5 years old, Derrick had learned to survive in the streets on his very own. His mother died giving birth to him, and a couple of thugs had killed his father for being refused to hand him over. From that day forth, Derrick remained in hiding from... pretty much everyone. In the meantime, he'd be stealing what he needed from nearby stores when they were closed, doing this as silently as possible. He'd also be strength training when he grew a little older, and practising a variety of self-taught martial arts. It wasn't until he was 13 years old that Derrick showed his face to the public, but during this whole time, all that was on Derrick's mind was those two thugs that had killed his father; he was going to hunt them down to the ends of the earth if he had to, and once he found them, he was going to kill them. That was the only self-satisfactory way that Derrick could avenge his father's death... well, as far as he was concerned anyway.

Incidentally, Derrick managed to find one of the thugs trying to rape a young girl by the name of Elison Hikari and immediately acted on it, shoving the thug away. This in turn gave Elison the chance to get out of there while the thug turned on Derrick, only to get his ass handed to him in the resulting street fight, whilst Derrick made the killing blow. However, Derrick still had to find the other thug, and when Elison asked how she could repay him, he immediately told her about that particular thug and the one he was now after, and how he vowed to kill the two of them for murdering his father in cold blood. Surprisingly, Elison agreed to go along with Derrick's quest.

That's when the both of them found out about the Eternal Games, and, with Derrick suspecting the thug would be participating, split up momentarily. Elison remained behind to learn more about these Eternal Games from the officials and how they worked, while Derrick searched for an artefact that would allow him to enter. His search took him to an abandoned church in Louisiana, where reports of skeletal beings were rising from the nearby graveyard. Derrick had punched and kicked his way through the horde of beings, and immediately raced towards the altar, only to find the source of these reports; The Rod of Origen. Derrick quickly snatched it, and ventured back to find Elison, but not before deciding to give it a quick test run, to see how useful it would prove in case he had to resort to it. However, the time for Derrick's practice was over. Now, he had to get back into the Eternal Games, and find the thug that would no doubt be participating.
Bone Reconfiguration: With this ability, Derrick can distort the bones in one's skeleton to inflict excruciating pain, and torture the victim to death if he feels like it. He can also cast this ability on himself or his allies to grow wings, allowing engagement in aerial combat.
Curse of Skeletal Weakness: If Derrick fights for too long, the bones in his body start to deteriorate from the inside, to a point where any physical strike can break them. This lasts for about a minute or so, before his skeleton returns to human strength. Derrick can potentially transfer this curse to an enemy with a good hard whack of The Rod of Origen, giving him an advantage of sorts in physical strength. This ability is yet to be unlocked, however.
How Artefact is Obtained: The Rod of Origen was originally found on the altar of an abandoned church in the state of Louisiana, which was destroyed by a wild fire a couple of years ago. Reports were made of skeletal beings rising from the nearby graveyard, but they quickly disappeared the minute Derrick came to claim this artefact.

Name: Viscount Augustus Rosengold, the Silvertongue

His parents were Earl Hector and Countess Selena Rosengold.

One day, the Orphic Cult, a sector of the secretive Olympian Society, came to their manor. It had turned out that Hector had been expecting this. He knew of the King's Game and he had in fact invited the Olympain Society himself, the Rosengold Family have great connections. Augustus was taken away to be trained in the use of the Artifact, the Lyre of Orpheus. He was the perfect person for it, an extremely talented musician with Greek lineage.
OK so I may not be THAT goo with knowing everything on this RP to judge an app...but I've judged apps before and this is no exception.

@Beginning: I'm not sure about your Artifact as it is an ACTUAL weapon. If you notice, my item and Raine's item are just that, items. You may want to change it...again I'm not sure because I haven't been read into if the Artifacts are just items. And you have chosen May, good.

@Aix: Dude your Artifact is waaaaay too OP'd. That isn't good, so please try and fix that.

@Sun: Your appearance needs to be longer. Exactly 4 lines or just a picture. And August, good choice.

@Admiral: Seems good so far. And you seem to have November as your month, so good work.

Thanks, Chaos. Right now, I'm debating whether to upgrade my artefact to B or keep it at B-. It does have a curse that keeps it balanced to an extent, so theoretically I might be able to get away with that slight upgrade, but... I'd rather be safe =/

...

Anyway, I'll work on it tomorrow once I get some spare time.

Username: SunKistRebelution
Name: Johnathan Chang-Da Carmichael
Gender: M
Age: 19
Date of Birth: August 22, 1880

Class: [acronym='Once Derrick unlocks the ability to transfer the Curse of Skeletal Weakness, however, The Arm of King Leoric could VERY WELL be classified as an A class, or even an A+ class.']B-[/acronym]
List of Abilities Associated with Artefact:
Raise Skeleton: Exactly what it says on the tin :P
Bone Reconfiguration: With this ability, Derrick can distort the bones in one's skeleton to inflict excruciating pain, and torture the victim to death if he feels like it. He can also cast this ability on himself or his allies to grow wings, allowing engagement in aerial combat.
Curse of Skeletal Weakness: If Derrick fights for too long, the bones in his body start to deteriorate from the inside, to a point where any physical strike can break them. This lasts for about a minute or so, before his skeleton returns to human strength. Derrick can potentially transfer this curse to an enemy with a good hard whack with The Arm of King Leoric, giving him an advantage of sorts in physical strength. This ability is yet to be unlocked, however.

Finish up, but I'd like you to give me a real historical figure for the artifact. It's real 1899... I can only find that name for Diablo III

If possible, I'd like to reserve the mythological figure Orpheus.

I need to see more but the class of artifact should be about C, because an artifact is a weapon... you can get stronger weapons in the future so don't worry about scaling.

Needs a place of birth, I love that artifact though~
Will be edited to reflect this. For the sake of update convenience, his place of birth is Hong Kong Island, formerly of the Empire of Great Britain.

You could use the "Witch of Endor" from the book of I Samuel in the Bible. An additional option would be "Origen" from 3rd century Alexandria, the first historically reported "necromancer".

EDIT: Actual App now has a place of birth and a specific one at that.

Orpheus was supposed to be such a good singer that he could even charm stones so I'm saying he can make like trees and animals attack, make the wind blow you back. I'll remove the Mind stuff and only keep it to emotions manipulation, is that fine? Besides if you have good enough willpower or something to block your ears, you can resist it.

Also, he can cause headaches and whatnot with sheer dissonance.

Should the emotions control really even be part of it? That's still a sort of mind control with just trickier tactics. I should know; I kind of tried it in another RP....

EDIT: Perhaps you could ask Raine if you can reserve that artifact for later on? That way you wouldn't have to dilute its abilities quite so much. However, you would have to come up with and use a new/different artifact, so....
