On top of that, I don't really like zombies as a fantasy creature in general, has never really interested me, I would watch it more for the humour and frankly Walking Dead has none.

It may be a show that featured Zombie but it's not about the Zombies, it's about a group of desperate people living there lives, one day at a time, at the end of the world. In a show where no one is safe and anybody could die, it pains you to get attached to the characters but there so engaging you cant help but get engrossed in there struggle, so it's a real gut punch when some one bites the dust. That's what so interesting about the show.
