The Astral World
"So when are we going to get rid of that pest?"
"It's so annoying to just wait!"
"There is no need a the moment if we wait then the humans will gather his fragments for us."
"Ha that's the kind of answer I expect from a coward like you!"
"How dare you, these are Mother's orders if you insult her like that again then I will not hesitate to put you in the same state as the Brian World!"
"I..I'm sorry I didn't know these were Mother's orders of course I'll follow them you don't need to do anything."
"Okay okay lets calm down we might not be allowed to act yet but we can watch over the humans right?"
"Yes, as long as we don't interfere Mother has permitted it."

The Terra World
Lucas had gotten up early 'Boke' had started complaining as soon as the sun had come up and so Lucas was at school an hour early.
"What is this place?"
"School."
"What's School?"
"It's a place people go to learn stuff."
"Really then can it teach me about myself?"
"Maybe but you should just watch and you should get it..."
With that Luas knew it would be a long day, at the same time many duelists in the city were preparing for the day ahead and those with Numbers were preparing for the battles to come, even if they didn't know it yet.

The morning sun; someone had to do something about that, or so Kris Rashira thought. As the light poured in through his bedroom window, the dark-haired lad begrudgingly opened his eyes, stirring to his senses. The only motivation he gave himself was that it was another day, and so it was another way to earn some money off some sucker who kept using those popular Xyz. It was always fun completely wrecking such monsters, then telling his opponent that using all his most powerful monsters would only cause him to lose, as it was both intimidating and true.

Slowly, Kris finally pulled the sheets from off of him and rolled to the edge of the bed, then swung his legs over to put his feet on the ground. Rubbing one eye with the side of one hand, he walked over to the bathroom in his green-plaid boxers and turned the sink on. He cupped his hands together, then splashed the water on his face and shook his head around, letting out a grunt and slapping his cheeks. Looking in the mirror, he saw that his hair was rather messy; all he did to remedy that was run his hand over some problem areas until it stayed down, and thought that was good enough.

Quickly getting breakfast and just wolfing it down, he then got dressed, just throwing on a white shirt and loosely putting on a tie that made him happy, and made sure to put on his pants and coat that held so many pockets of opportunity. Most of them were empty, except for a few that held a few choice cards, and then he grabbed his deck of the Unknown Army. Feeling secure with his deck in hand, he grabbed his back that held his dueling supplies, and headed out; to where, he didn't know. He just picked a direction and went with it. Where it took him was around his old high school, and he scoffed a bit; why would he ever want to be around this place? Not like anyone had money there. He just stood at the entrance, though, hands in his pockets as he stared at the doors; well, maybe some rich kid was going there now, and would cough up if he lost a duel, right?

While Lucas Kastle was headed off to school, a robotic drone was tailing him under sophisticated stealth camouflage. It was practically invisible, and no-one could hear it as it whirred into pursuit, but the camouflage was starting to run out of energy, just as the target had approached the school gate. Thankfully, scanning was 100% complete at that time, so to prevent itself from being seen once the camouflage wore off, the drone had scurried away into a nearby bush. It got what it needed from Lucas. Now it was just a matter of returning back to base where its owner would be waiting... before it got itself compromised by any onlookers.

...

Meanwhile, Lt. Holly Robinson had just entered a workshop to check on the state of her Duel Flyer. It had gotten itself pretty banged up since the last incident which... she didn't want to remember the details of. All she cared to remember was that it was reported to her supervisor, Cmnd. Cincinnatus Foster, who immediately gave Lt. Robinson a dishonourable discharge as a result of this... rather hairy situation.

Still, Lt. Robinson had to thank Cmnd. Foster. After all, if it wasn't for that discharge, she wouldn't have found out how to control her Number through that visit with Kaito Tenjo. Speaking of which, Lt. Robinson always had a place in her mind for the Numbers; accursed, malicious demons that would run amok amongst fools.

As she examined the Duel Flyer, Lt. Robinson noted how much better it had gotten. The mechanic that was working on it must've known what he was doing, which was always a plus. After all, if it was worth doing, it was worth doing well. That was a proverb that Lt. Robinson always took to heart.

The infamous Blaine Wutherfield groggily got off his bed to get ready for school. Looking at the time on his clock that just infront of him from his bed, he yawned. “I hate school days,” he moaned. “Such ridiculous times for me to get up and even worse, I am surrounded by amateurs for half the day,”
The alienating mark glowed green on the palm of Blaine’s right hand for a moment as the demonic voice communicated to him. “Yet in your family, you’re in the bottom of the food chain. The disappointment among prodigies,” it retorted, as Blaine only grunted to its annoyance. “You are only going to become stronger if you even bother to complete your goals,”
Blaine didn’t respond to the voice known to his as Number -23: Bio-Tech Dragon because that would only make things worse for himself. He got himself dressed in his Heartland High School uniform, which mainly was coloured blue in its attire. ‘I know I have graduated to high… But have I really gotten that far?’ he thought frowning as he scratched his red spiky hair.

After half an hour, Blaine departed from his mansion to head for school fairly early, because he didn’t want to get too late. Otherwise, his parents would find out and it would be the last straw before things start to collapse for him.

Bakudan was making breakfast early in the morning. He had gotten up at 5:30 am and did a light workout to make sure his mechanical limbs were functioning properly and to keep fit before taking a shower and getting downstairs to prepare for the day ahead. Even with the din of the explosive stoves, his extra sensitive ears and psychic ability caught the soft, delicate, though unbalanced, footsteps of Hana, his little sister, walking towards the kitchen, and, without turning around or looking, he spoke, "Good morning, Hana." just as she appeared through the doorway.

"Hi...," she yawned. She sat down at her usual place at the table and patiently waited for her brother to finish cooking. Bakudan finished up and placed a tray before his little sister. "You're not eating?" asked Hana.

"Nah, I'm not really hungry yet," he said. "I'll eat later." He sat down across from his sister and leaned back in his chair. Their rabbit, Aiko, leaped into his lap and Bakudan, taking the cue, began softly stroking it. After a length of silence, Bakudan spoke up again. "How is school going?" Hana was silent and Bakudan creased his eyebrows. "Is everything okay at school?"

"I... I started getting bullied when I walk to school," Hana stuttered and at the word "bullied" Bakudan's eyes ignited with rage. "They say I walk funny and make fun of me because of my leg." Hana's leg was mechanical, a relic of the explosion that destroyed their family.

"What?!" he hissed. Bakudan was never the type to shout, but what he did conveyed his anger just as well, if not better, making him seem more sinister. "I will come with you to school today." Hana was about to protest, but she gave up immediately after she saw the fire in her brother's eyes. She quieted down and focused on finishing her breakfast.
-----------------------------------------------------------
All traces of Bakudan's rage had been hidden away. He looked positively cheerful as he walked alongside his sister to school, his trenchcoat billowing behind him. "It's a nice day, isn't it?" he said, looking up at the sky. Hana nodded and Bakudan smiled. They walked in peaceful silence. Bakudan happily glanced around at the scenery around them while Hana kept her eyes to the ground. As they approached the school, there was a group of three appearing to be waiting for them and Bakudan's eyes narrowed. "Is that... them?" he hissed. Hana nodded. As they approached, Bakudan saw that the group seemed less sure of themselves. This tall, slick and sinister-looking adult was not in their calculations, but Bakudan was not going to stop now. He needed to ensure his sister's safety and besides, these bastards need punishment.

"Hi... mister," they said nervously.

"Are you guys, the ones who've been... teasing Hana?" he asked glaring at them once each in turn. He crackled his human knuckle menacingly. The boys seemed scared now.

"Um... sorr--" the lead boy was cut of as Bakudan delivered a powerful right hook with his mechanical arm that sent the kid sprawling three meters back.

"What the heck? It didn't go off... it appears to be faulty," he said, looking at his mechanical knuckles. He extended the arm to the right and shook it. "It's not going--" Bakudan's eyes widened as he anticipated what was going to happen. The mechanical jknuckles exploded with a massive bang. "Ah... there we go..." he said with flourish. "Now which one of you bastards want more?" The kids stumbled backwards, before outright running away.

The explosion had drawn people from inside the school and he narrowed his eyes as he detected something. "Hey! Which one of you bastards here... is a Number Holder?" he shouted at the small crowd that had gathered. "Come on out, don't make me come find you!"

Yue enjoyed mornings, on a good day the morning air was a welcome smell to her and made her feel fresh and invigorated for the day to come, even more so considering her sense of smell was slightly better than the average persons which was partly why Yue never considered her blindness to be a disability, in fact she often considered it to be more of a blessing especially as she walked down the street listening to the shuffling of feet as people parted way for her, no doubt noticing the cane in her hands, the sound brought a slightly smug smirk to her lips.

She was engrossed in thought when she heard a loud bang from further down the street, somewhere near the school gates, and paused momentarily, hearing the tell-tale signs of a scuffle just ending and several people running off, Yue didn't blame them if someone had been overzelous enough to bring a bomb to a fist fight, she was surprised the person responsible wasn't being arrested on the spot. It was what came next that caught her attention though as she heard a male voice shout to the crowd, apparently looking for a 'Number holder', whatever that was. Yue paused a few feet away to listen, turning her head slightly so one of her ears was pointing in the direction of the scene.

Maybe he's from one of those street gangs and is after rival gang members? She considered Or maybe he's off his rocker, possibly both if he's carrying explosives in his pockets.

For a moment she heard a faint voice in the back of her head, almost like a hurried whisper, and she paused to listen, tuning out the noises around her for a moment.

"Not sure I understand, but okay," she said aloud, turning a few heads as she didn't appear to be talking to anyone "You wanna stick around, I wouldn't mind finding out what one of these 'Numbers' can do."

'Hmph, not bad,' Lt. Robinson mused to herself as she examined the mechanic's handiwork, before she got a few beeps from the drone's analysis module, 'Well that didn't take long. S'pose I better go find the thing now before anyone else tries to flog it.'

With that, she left the workshop and walked her way to the front gate of the school. Thankfully, the drone was still nearby, but before Lt. Robinson could extract any data from it, she heard an explosion nearby. However, she initially thought nothing of it.

'Probably some poofter failing miserably at a science experiment...' this thought was quickly proven wrong by the pulsating of -75, along with a rather large crowd having gathered around this so-called "poofter", that Lt. Robinson identified as the culprit, "Neighbourhood Watch, coming through!"

Most of the crowd was kind enough to get out of the Lieutenant's way, but with what having a stocky build and being 6' 4", she could quite easily push aside the few dumbasses that were more concerned asking amongst themselves what the Neighbourhood Watch was. Eventually, Lt. Robinson managed to get to the centre person, and immediately fired her Duel Anchor straight for the guy's Duel Disk. It latched on, and it wasn't gonna be disconnected any time soon.

"You're under arrest for harbouring and setting off an explosive device," stated Lt. Robinson, "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say may be used as evidence against you, yada yada yada, you should know all this stuff by now. Now what the hell do you have to say for yourself?"

From the sea's horizon, a small boat could be seen approaching the bay of Heartland City. It's coated on a red and black glossy paint and the words Red Mary can be seen imprinted on the left side. It has a single mast with a black sail around it, ever widely open thanks to the winds who are in a favorable direction. Inside it's small deck, Spencer Weiss, a rugged, blonde-haired, caucasian man around his early thirties, his body wrapped by a bright red trench coat and an eye covered by an eyepatch, sits with a guitar in hand looking at the sky. With his hands he plays a low, melancholic tone that matches the one currently playing on a nearby radio. He also quietly sings to himself the lyrics of the song as he goes.

"Heartaches by the number, troubles by the storm. Everyday you love me less, each day I love you more. Yes I got heartaches by the number, a love that I can't win. But the day that I stop counting, that's the day my world will end...."

As he sings this line, he remembers of a past love by the name of Hannah. A nice girl Hannah was, Spencer met Hannah at a small port in New Mexico little around 5 years ago. She was currently the last woman Spencer had ever been with since then. Hannah deeply loved Spencer, and for a moment, Spencer thought on giving up his sailor life to get married with her but as the next line on the song came, a deep old grief grows on the sailor's heart.

"Heartache number one was when you left me... I never knew I could earn this way. And Heartache number two was when you came back again. You came back but never meant to stay. Yes I've got heartaches by the number, troubles by the storm. Everyday you love me less, each day I love you more. Yes I got heartaches by the number, a love that I can't win. But the day that I stop counting that's the day my world will end."

Spencer remembers the day he and Hannah first broke up, it was painful and Spencer remembers spending countless hours at the bar, drinking his pains away. But he also remembers when she returned to him, for a moment his heart was filled with hope and joy that something might happen. But it was quite the opposite, she was simply lonely and wanted to use him. His heart had never been so shattered. As the next line comes around, Spencer grabs a beer nearby and sips from it. Vividly remembering the events from here as well.

"Heartache number three was when you called me. And said that you were coming back to stay, with hope for lord I waited for you right out the door. I waited but you must have lost your way."

Spencer remembers the second night that Hannah called him, he told him to meet her at the docks at midnight. Spencer waited till the sun came out, but there was no sign of the girl. Then when he looked at the horizon he saw a ship leave ashore and on it's deck, stood the one person he waited all this time. He could hear her scream his name as if she really wanted to come back, but Hannah also never found Spencer at the docks that midnight. And her plans to leave with him that night just like Spencer always wanted and get married were shattered. A tear comes out of his eye as he remembers this, and with great energy he sings the last line of the song.

"Yes I got Heartaches by the number, troubles by the storm. Everyday you love me less, each day I love you more. Yes I got heartaches by the number, a love that I can't win. But the day that I stop counting.... that's the day my world.... will.... end....."

As the song ends, he places his guitar on the deck's floor. A red parrot then comes to his side, it starts calling for a cracker, mentioning the word over and over in it's own parrot accent. Spencer wastes no time on picking a large white cracker from a bag nearby and places it on the parrot's mouth. As he looks for the cracker he notices his Duel Monsters Deck lying around somewhere it isn't supposed to be and picks it up. He decides to look through the cards after giving his parrot the treat. He lets out a depressing sigh as he passes his hands through what appeared to be a green skinned pirate captain with a coat similar to his. He caresses the card with his thumb.

"Rose... one day right? One day we will be pirates just like Bloodbeard here." He said in a sad tone.

"Caww... Bloodbeard... Caww... Bloodbeard...." The parrot responded.

"Yes Rose... Bloodbeard. That reminds me... let's see how close we are to shore."

As Spencer stands up, he places the duel monsters deck inside a nearby treasure chest like case and places the case on his coat's pocket. His eyes quickly meet with the great landscape of Heartland City, a massive dome like structure he had never seen before quickly catching his eye. He wondered if that was where the official duel monster tournaments were held. It would be his first time to Heartland delivering goods all the way from America. But Spencer knew the stories of Heartland City and from what he heard, it was all about duel monsters. His thoughts were interrupted by a PA message from the Dock authorities requesting identification.

"This is Captain Spencer Weiss of the Red Mary. I request docking in your ports, my business is the delivery of various goods of the food kind."

The dock quickly grants passage after he indentifies himself, and the sailor proceeds to dock his ship in the nearest port. Heartland City's port was huge! He had not visited such a huge port in years and he was rather excited to stay a while to explore the city and see what it was all about. As he gets off the ship, several attendants help him with the cargo he brought, he then gives them the address where it should be delivered and asks for permission to stay a bit longer to explore the city. The attendants have no problem with it and Spencer grabs his belongings, heading to the city shortly after.

With a slight smirk, he detached his hand. "My hand!" he cried dramatically. Smiling, he pulled out a replacement hand and fitted it on. "Who the hell are you?" he demanded. This musclehead caught him by surprise, but it wouldn't happen again. He was ready to dodge this guy's strikes and he put his clairvoyance on maximum alertness to predict when something was going to happen. "For your information, I am merely a street magician, using my illusions to entertain." He brought Aiko out of his bag. "See! I even have a rabbit." He did not actually care for talking things through with these people, but, god it was funny "explaining" things and seeing how the people reacted and tried getting around it. "Simple magic tricks, that's all, mere illusions," he said. With that said, he sent a signal to all his devices on hand to safely incinerate all traces of explosive devices, though leaving himself with some low profile weaponry, and began projecting holograms of explosions and fireworks while playing heavy metal music with his internal MP3 system.

It was safe to say that Lt. Robinson hadn't expected the guy to detach his entire hand, but apart from that, she wasn't deterred. She simply withdrew the Duel Anchor that was attached to the wrist of the now dead hand, and gave a cold, blank stare. She never said anything or relinquished that dark gaze in her eyes, not even when the guy asked who she was, which... to be frank was moronic of him. Even if he didn't hear that she was from the Neighbourhood Watch, the guy should've at least judge from the uniform that Lt. Robinson was a military officer of some kind. He probably didn't even know that Lt. Robinson was a woman for all she knew. But she digressed in her thoughts. It wasn't until the guy finished his half-assed façade of an illusionist that Lt. Robinson spoke again.

"Bullshit, I know an explosive device when I hear one go off," Lt. Robinson spat, before moving on to negotiate with the guy, "Now... since you have something that doesn't belong, I'm willing to make a deal. You win in a duel against me, I'll drop all charges, including resisting arrest. You lose, and you're in for a one-way trip to jail, and I'll be confiscating everything you have on your person... and I mean everything..."

When she said "something that doesn't belong", Lt. Robinson of course meant the guy's Number. The guy himself may have evaded her grasp, but as long as she could draw a single breath, that Number would always be within reach, as with all the Numbers across Heartland. She just had to find them, and pry them from some cold, dead hands.

Kris had watched as the brash and irrational kid had walked up to the three, and had smirked as he tried to act tough in front of the girl, undoubtedly his sister, and laughed as he just punched the first lad in the face. He then jumped and hid in a bush after the explosion went off, which wasn't supposed to even happen to a fist. Obviously, that kid had problems, or was some kind of damn robot; either way was totally ridiculous and baffling. No way was he going to be messing with that! Even if that...thing had money, it'd likely just kill him instead of paying up after he lost!

From his vantage point, though, he managed to see that someone else was feeling suicidal, and attempted to arrest the thing or something, though he certainly didn't buy into the whole "Neighborhood Watch" bit; no random citizen would be that brash as to attempt to arrest a thing that explodes without a second thought; besides, that uniform was military, without a doubt. Then the thing attempted to say that it was a magician or something, and even Kris called bull to that; no damn illusion was that great to produce that wicked an explosion. And to top it off, the thing pulled out a rabbit, then started to produce some actually kick-ass heavy metal from somewhere and produced fake explosions, which were nowhere near the same quality as the first, real explosion.

Then the military woman wanted to duel the damn thing, and that was the last straw for Kris. "I was not expecting such bullshit when I got up this morning," he said to himself as he attempted to quietly get out of the bush and slowly walk away, trying not to be noticed. "I should've just stayed in bed." Slowly, he walked away, though he made sure to keep his eyes on the military lady and the...thing. Maybe he was still dreaming, and he was really still in bed; it seemed more logical than what he had just witnessed.

"I'm going to the dome instead," he said under his breath, after he felt he was a safe distance away. "School sucks, anyway." Not that he was supposed to be attending school, anyway; he had already graduated. Barely, but he did well enough. Briskly walking, he did just as he said, and made his way to the dome; there always seemed to be some big duelist-types around, anyway, and certainly there'd be some rich ones. It would be easy to make a bet there, or so he thought; made enough sense.

There was a military grade helicopter flying to Heartland City briskly cutting across the sky like it was flying there with extreme purpose. Fortunately it was. This was the Helicopter of Mr. Suess who was frantically panicking in the passenger side like a child that wasn't going to go to the toy store.

OH MY GOD I'M LATE!!! I'M LATE! I must be running late I can't believe that this is happening and you all let me be late. Suess was [s]yelling[/s] talking to his team of agents. Not agents as in military personel but people who just represent him in all important matters. More like a team of secretaries. This is all your fault! I told you all to wake me up at 6 a.m. so we can get to Heartland city and help beat the bad guys! We tried to wake you up sir but you insisted on staying up till 2 a.m. posting on some forum. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY RP'S I'M IN? I have to make sure I'm active. Its a matter of principle. Yeah then we did try to wake you up you threatened to fire us...again. I'm starting to see some validity in your arguement. But what if we missed everything? Suess said with a horrifying yet cartoonish facial expression. I don't think the battle for the world would have began and ended in...what 3 hrs. All will be fine. Oh Marty, Jeannie, Doug, Clyde what would I do without you. I would have a lot more money sure but who knows what I would do with it. Suess drifted his head out the window to see the city in the distance.

The team Suess was dealing with are a group of "consultants" they help manage issues and finances alike. Normally they help business streamline effiecent business practices and the like. Suess on the other hand in one of his random bouts of adulthood decided to acquire the company that acquired the management firm his team currently works for. So now he has attendants. Luckily for them he doesn't they only come help him with things in the morning to the night. They are free from the abuse he gives his butlers. While everyone was flying over head Suess started shimmering at the side of the window for he saw a boat. Like a child who found a new toy he instantly wanted to go down and take a look at it. And like a spoiled child who doesn't get what they want he immediately started crying when the pilot said they weren't going to land a military grade helicopter on a moving boat. But I wanna play with it!!! We'll find the owner when we land Marty said. Yeah that works, that works good. Off to the dome to slay villainy everywhere!

As the crowd began to steadily increase in response to the man's cry and the previous explosion Yue heard a cry come from somewhere behind her followed by the sounds of people quickly moving out of the way. Yue side-stepped just as she heard a person stride past her, saying something about neighbourhood watch and arresting people with a high and mighty attitude.

So much for sticking around to find out what this Number thing is, she thought, leaning slightly on her cane as she heard the exchange between the pair, giving a slight smirk as she heard the man give some story about being an illusionist, at least he had good taste in music. Things were getting interesting so Yue decided to stick around, she wasn't sure why but this person had piqued her interest and she had little else to do today anyway.

She thought she heard the sounds of a bush rustling a short distance away followed by several footsteps leading away, though with the sizeable crowd it was hard to tell exactly, though Yue did wonder what a person would be doing in a bush, spying perhaps?

This day's getting weirder and weirder, she thought to herself.

Blaine grumbled fairly stubbornly as he was progressing through the pavements, fairly late to school. ‘They have to penalize us prodigies for living further away than the… What in the world!’ his face froze as he saw what was happening, some woman he could easily identify from the military was confronting some robotic man... In school of all places. “Heartland City sure is declining worse than Heartland High School,” he muttered completely annoyed at what was happening. But by judging the fear factor among the crowd, he could see the incident to be more than just a joke. His curiosity got the better of him as he casually walked in through the gate.

Nevertheless, Blaine had to merge himself within the crowd to make sure the teachers wouldn't notice that he was late for school. Not that they would notice, considering they haven’t noticed what was happening in plain sight. ‘I might as well watch. I can’t miss out on witnessing what will be the gossip of the day…No, the gossip of the week,’

Bakudan raised an eyebrow, weren't these police types to be all about specifics, law and evidence? As the Lieutenant challenged him to a Duel, he realized something. She is a Number Holder... Bakudan smiled. "A Duel... huh?" he asked. "I will accept your challenge." He brandished his mechanical arm and a brass and gold Duel Disk unfolded from his wrist. His mechanical eyepiece extended a transparent band to cover his left eye as well for the full Duel Gazing experience. He took his Deck from his bag and inserted it into his Duel Disk before drawing five cards. "Now, since you were the one to challenge me, I suppose I get the privilege of going first," he said, drawing another card. "I Set 1 monster in face-down Defense Position. Then, I activate the Continuous Spell Card 'Explosia - Infernal Calling'... I will end my turn here." He glared into the eyes of his opponent. "Go."

Lt. Robinson was determined to get that enemy Number and destroy it. "Not attacking? Scared?" Bakudan asked, sneering. "Ah... whatever." He drew a card, declaring the start of his turn. "I flip my face-down monster face-up and activate the Quick-Play Spell, 'Explosia - Mega Flare Cannon'. By banishing my face-up monster, 'Explosia Gear Golem', and 1 'Explosia' monster from my Deck, 'Explosia Gear Fighter', I get to destroy 1 card you control and inflict 1000 damage to your Life Points while inflicting 500 damage to mine!" The bulky-looking Golem was loaded up into a Cannon and fired, destroying one of the Lieutenant's face-down Spell/Traps while inflicting direct damage to the Lieutenant herself, though the back lash of the Cannon smashed into its user. "Because of the damage inflicted to myself, I place 1 'Explosia' counter on 'Explosia - Infernal Calling', I also use 'Infernal Calling to regain that 500 Life Points... Now, I hope you haven't forgotten about the two monsters, I've just banished. 'Explosia Gear Fighter's effect activates and destroys one of your cards." Another one of the Lieutenant's face-downs exploded. "While dealing 500 damage to myself, which then, I will place another counter on 'Explosia - Infernal Calling'. Now, Golem's effect also activates and Special Summons 1 of my banished 'Explosia' monsters at the cost of making me take another 500 damage, which I use to place a counter on 'Explosia - Infernal Calling'. Come, 'Explosia Gear Fighter'." A muscular, badass-looking man appeared on the field. "I use his effect, by banishing 1 'Explosia' card in my hand, 'Explosia Gear Soldier', I get to destroy 1 of your cards!" The last of the face-down Spell/Trap cards went up in flame. "Explosia Gear Soldier's effect activates and inflicts 500 damage to your Life Points! Now, I use 'Explosia - Infernal Calling' to banish 1 'Explosia' card from my Deck. I banish 'Explosia Gear Cowboy' which Special Summons itself at the cost of dealing 500 damage to me, which places another Counter on 'Explosia - Infernal Calling'." A mechanical person holding a gun appeared. "Using these two monsters I have on the field, I construct the overlay network and Xyz Summon 'Explosia Gear Express'." A diabolic-looking bronze train comes zooming out of the overlay network. "I use 'Explosia Gear Express's effect, by banishing 2 Xyz Material from it, I get to banish 1 card from my Deck. I banish 'Explosia Dragon Scout' which adds 'Explosia Dragon Brawler' from my Deck to my hand and inflicts 500 damage to me. I now Normal Summon 'Explosia Dragon Brawler'." An agile looking dragon appeared beside the train. "Battle Phase! I attack with Brawler, then I attack with Express!"

Lt. Robinson met the sneer with a look of pure venom. This guy had no idea what she was capable, and as soon as he played the first card, she pounced.

"I negate your first card's effect with Malefic Veil Dragon, allowing me to Special Summon it," Lt. Robinson informed, "Unfortunately, it's destroyed soon after,"

She couldn't do anything to save her face-down Malefic Harbinger, but she wasn't too concerned about that... she'd only get it back at the end of her next turn. Three Magical Hats appears, shuffling themselves around the Lieutenants field for a few moments, before finally finding some ideal resting places. It obviously didn't stop the attacks, but neither of the enemy monsters managed to get the Magical Hat that housed Lt. Robinson's original monster. The first card that was destroyed was a Dragon's Rage, which could've been handy later on. The other card...

"And with the destruction of Geartown, I can Summon an Ancient Gear monster from my Deck. So come forth, Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon!" upon Lt. Suess and the team were now flying over the stadium that he mistaking thought was a dome. This didn't matter though what a better to place to make his grand good guy entrance. PLAY MY THEME MUSIC! He shouted out loud to the helicopter pilot as it was landing in the center of the stadium. Suddenly like a beacon to all of those who weren't bus elsewhere music filled the air. Money, money, money!! Suess shouted out loud as he and his team slow walked out of the helicopter.

Does he know that this song is about the evils of money and not the promotion of it. Jeannie whispered to the rest of her team.
No, I don't think that would even matter to a person like him. Let's just sweep up this after work and watch some people play some card games. This is going to be the easiest couple million we ever made. Marty replied.

In the mean time Suess was busy grooving to his super loud theme song that was blast in the middle of the stadium.

Kris was just trying to forget about the events that happened--and probably were still happening--in front of that damn school as he idly walked his way over to the stadium. However, he was suddenly taken aback as there was a...helicopter blasting "For the Love of Money" and was landing in the stadium? Okay, he had to still be dreaming; maybe even comatose. It was the only explanation on how two very random occurrences were able to happen that close to each other.

Still, perhaps there was some opportunity there; even if the song was to spread a message about how money is evil, there was no way a guy with his own helicopter was poor; besides, if he thought money was evil, he wouldn't really want it, now would he? Of course there was something better he could do with it; perhaps give it to someone in need? In need of greed. Dealing with someone that owned a helicopter seemed like such a better decision than dealing with someone who could explode, anyway.

With such thoughts roaming around his head, Kris quickened his pace to the stadium, rubbing his hands together at the thought of earning who knows how much cash in one duel. Well, that would be if the rich guy would even accept the bet, but it couldn't hurt to try; not like making a bet for money was illegal in the city. As he got near, though, he saw a few other bystanders gawking at what just happened, so obviously, this wasn't some celebrity who was scheduled to be showing up. All the better; probably meant he was free game from the start. Unlike the other people around, Kris entered the building, and headed straight for the arena, then looked towards the stage. There was that helicopter, after all, and some man dancing like a child to the music still blaring through the entire area. There also seemed to be a couple of other people with him, but they didn't seem to matter much; it had to be the dancing guy who had the dough.

Kris walked down the stairs to the stadium, keeping an eye out for any others who might think he was a threat; rich guys always had crazy people who thought everyone else was trying to harm their employer. Seeing no one but the three on the stage, he then tried to yell out a challenge, but the loud music drowned him out, so anything he said, if it could even be heard, would be incoherent. He kept walking closer, yelling a couple of more times, "Hey! You think you want to have an interesting duel with high stakes?!" though only parts of it would be clear, if any of it at all.

Hikari had woken up later then normal and she was rushing, for some reason Lucas had left without her so she waited for him for nothing. Once she reached the school Hikari noticed that Cobra her cousin was there and so she tried to sneak past her but after an explosion at the stadium Hikari jumped up and gave a little yelp she knew that if Cobra heard her she'd challenge Hikari to a duel and unlike most people dueling Cobra wasn't fun i just made you feel bad.

Lucas noticed a duel at the stadium but didn't care much for it, Boke on the other hand was very interested in it and forced Lucas to head over there so he got out of his seat and began heading over there.

As Spencer exits the docks of Heartland Port, he gazes into the streets and meets his eyes with the huge and lively city that was Heartland. Citizens everywhere walk around him, both on foot and cars, and some even in street bikes and skateboards. It seems to Spencer that he is in the middle of a busy hour in the city. He can't keep his thoughts away from the stadium structure he saw earlier and thinks that would be a great start to his tour of the city. He stops a nearby bystander and asks for directions:

"Excuse me. Sorry to interrupt you, im trying to look for a Stadium like building near this area? Do you know of any?"

The bystander confirmed the presence of a stadium nearby and quickly pointed towards the right direction. Another pointer however also gave him a good idea of where to go. Right as he saw the direction where the bystander's finger pointed towards, a helicopter with some strange music was flying in the same direction. Thinking the helicopter would be heading towards the stadium he decides to follow it as much as possible, trying to not lose track of Rose in the process.

Through the streets towards the Stadium, Spencer could appreciate more details of the city. He took notice of a couple shops, some of them duel monster stores around the area he would later need to go back to see where he could play on a tournament. Even with his busy schedule, Spencer Weiss loved competitive play and till this day has never backed down a challenge. He plays in various tournaments around the world but his dream is to one day win the world championship with his favorite deck, the Bloodwater Pirates. The world championships, otherwise known as the World Duel Carnival took place in Heartland many years ago when Spencer was a little kid. In his first visit to Heartland, he hopes that this Carnival is still being held to earn a chance at the title of world champion.

Turning a corner he finally sees the stadium and the helicopter from before flying on top of it. A faint smile builds on his face as he's eager to explore a bit. He grabs Rose from his shoulder and places her on his arm. Then with a steady step makes his way to the stadium.

"Alright Rose this is it, our first stop in Heartland. I wonder what's going on inside that the helicopter is hovering on top of it, maybe they have a show or something."

"Cawww stadium Cawwww helicopter Cawwww." Rose replies.

Hikari walked in to find that Cobra was kicking someone else's butt with her trademark "psychic powers". By blindfolding herself, she could not only see the monsters on the field, but she could even look at her opponent's hand and figure out their next move. Apparently, it made her rather popular, and the poor dweeb who she was beating, some kid named Chonsey who didn't give her his math homework, was in deep trouble. His field was open, save for a lone face-down, while Cobra had a full hand and a nasty-looking snake with a white skull and crossbones pattern repeating down its back, in contrast to the greenish-brown scales the snake normally possessed, as well as a huge rattlesnake rattle with spikes covering it. (1200 ATK|LV4) "Since my Rattler Snake looks rather lonely, I will Normal Summon Drill Snake in Attack Mode!" Even with her handicap of being blind, she expertly placed the card from her hand onto the field. Out popped out a larger brown serpent with large spiky scale armor around its back and a drill-like point at the end of its tail. (1700 ATK|LV4) "And now, I will create an Overlay Network with these two monsters!" Both snakes jumped into the air and transformed into two orange beams of light while a red portal forms in front of Cobra. "Xyz Summon! Queen of Snakes, Eglė!" From the portal emerged a strange woman with green scales on parts of her body. She wore a large snake skull helmet decorated with jewels on top of her fiery-red hair, and possessed armor made from large red scale plates. Her hair was braided into a long tail, and she moved with an inhuman elegance. Two fiery red Xyz Materials encircled her as she readied herself to attack. (2000 ATK|RNK 4|2 XM) "But before I attack, I shall first activate Snake Rain!" She placed a Spell Card on the field, and serpents started to descend onto the field, then slither away. "By discarding Titanic Snake Jörmungandr, I can send 4 Reptile-Type monsters from my Deck to the Graveyard, and I choose Many-Tailed Snake, Acid Snake, Lightning Snake, and Wraparound Snake!" She looked through her Deck, still blindfolded, picked out the four cards, and placed them in her Graveyard. Immediately, the spectral images of a translucent toxic-green snake made of some sort of fluid, a serpent whose body was a long, curving lightning bolt, and a cute little grey snake with jewels embedded into its body. "Now, my monsters activate when they are sent to the Graveyard! Acid Snake inflicts 1000 points of damage, Wraparound Snake increases my Eglė's ATK by 500, and Lightning Snake destroys your face-down Mirror Force!" The trio of serpents did as their mistress commanded, Wraparound Snake forming a sort of snake-themed gauntlet around one of Eglė's arms, Acid Snake turning into a splash of acid, and Lightning Snake zapping the Trap, revealing it was Mirror Force, as she predicted (Chonsey: 6000 LP -> 5000 LP). "And now, my Eglė's effect! She deals damage to your Life Points equal to the number of Reptile-Type monsters I have in my Graveyard times 400, and since I have 7 Reptiles, you lose 2800 Life Points! Venom Wave!" The Snake Queen raised her hand and made a sweeping motion, absorbing one of her orbiting Xyz Materials through the hand in the process, and a wave of purple liquid with snakes writhing within swept across the field and hit Chonsey for more than half of his total Life Points. (Chonsey: 5000 LP -> 2200 LP) And with nothing to stop her, Cobra took off her blindfold and stared at her prey with her icy aquamarine eyes. A monstrous grin was upon her face as she pointed at her foe. "Eglė! Finish this! Fanged Fist Strike!" The snake woman quickly stepped forward, her hand with the gauntlet pressing her pinky and ring fingers together while her middle and pointer fingers came together, and her thumb curved up from below. Altogether, the motion resembled a snake's fangs. The "fanged fist" quickly hit Chonsey dead in his portly stomach, sending him flying and the last of his Life Points down the drain. (Chonsey: 2200 LP -> 0 LP) Some of her fellow Goths clapped at the display of aggression, and Cobra calmly walked over to her victim, picking up a few papers from his scattered backpack. "Well, Chonsey, I hope you learned your lesson about delivering me my math homework on time. If it weren't for that commotion at the stadium, I might not have time to copy this down." She turned to leave before spotting Hikari out of the corner of her eye, briefly wondering what her cousin planned to do about what she just saw.

Nearby stood a girl, who had watched Cobra's duel from beginning to end. Her name was Vivianna Arclight, and there she stood, unnoticed, all the while watching the duel. Among all her classmates, there was only one person who never seemed to fear her even the slightest bit. Of course, why would she? Being the daughter of two famous champion duelists, she had been raised for the thrill of Duel Monsters. Vi didn't care about her psychic powers nor her game-hacking ability to see other peoples' hands. The only important thing was the duel itself, the cards that were played on the field and made the difference.

"It's sad when people are so bad at math that they have to take homework from someone else." Vi remarked clearly as Cobra walked by, mocking her. "I wonder what sort of sad life you must've led to make yourself try and show off to everyone? Hah."

Standing apart from everyone else, Vi wore a navy-blue gauntlet around her right hand that also doubled as her D-Pad.

----

A mysterious, strange being wandered around the stadium, cluelessly, with no apparent sense of direction. From the outside, he appeared to have long black hair and wore an odd scarf as well as suit, looking around. He wasn't quite sure how he ended up in this dome building, but he had a feeling that there should be a Negative Number of some sort. His sensors were indicating that they were nearby, somewhere.

Dakubey continued to look around, ignoring all the helicopters in the air.
