Yet most trainers stand to the side and watch as their pet turtle gets blasted by a fireball.
at least we take care of them, giving them medicin and taking them to the hospital, where IRL they would just die or something.

Okay, so she thinks the games are bad, but at least the kid wasn't reading the manga. I mean, Red's Charmeleon cuts Koga's Arbok in half

It's so metal.

Doesn't the Arbok regenerate too?

Anyways, I never understood why people put so much blame on the media for feelings/acts of violence in society.
Because the media is an extremely influential force upon this planet's sentient inhabitants, maybe? The very concept of media - that you can pick and choose what you want to watch/play, develops a unique character within each and all of us, exclusions being embryos at the earliest of stages. And when you have uniqueness, you have different, and sometimes unpleasant reactions and connections.

Old troll comment is old... and no less meaningless and false.

And when I saw this topic, I thought you were referring to Black & Blue, to which I would respond SLOWPOKE.JPG

Regardless, they're both meaningless. People can get as realistic as they want with Pokemon. It's just a game.

Of course it is, but the very vast majority does not react negatively towards negative media.
The number of those who are fine and those who aren't does not convince me that violence in media or whatnot is to blame for these individuals going out and doing crazy things.
Could it be a factor? Yes. Is it the factor? No, it's one of many factors responsible. Which is why I don't feel placing blame solely on the media is particularly responsible.

In any case, I find it impossible for Pokemon to cast any significant negative influence unless it's presented in such a manner through PETA or angry moms and then those forces are the ones responsible, not Pokemon itself.

I had thought you were saying media was of no influence. Sorry for my misinterpretation. To respond to your second comment, Pokémon was not intended to be a negative influence (or at least I hope it was not) so I totally agree - it will not cast any negative influence strong enough to cause reactions. Though I had thought this ordeal was already solved a loooong time ago?

In order to become a professional trainer – professional as in master of EVs and IVs and that sort of s*** - you need to force your Dittos to be raped by various animals without ceasing. You make them lay hundreds, if you’re going for Hidden Power perhaps even thousands of eggs to get to just one single Pokemon with the right IVs. And once you get that one right guy and it hatches out its egg, the next thing it knows it’s forced to shove down loads of vitamin supplements down its weak throat. Then it’s given an Exp. Share, and it watches from its Pokeball a Level 100 random something self-destructing itself into damnation, at the same time ripping an Audino into shreds. When he realizes, his level’s already thirty-something, and the Level 100 whatever is somehow back to life. Before he can understand what’s happening, the same thing is repeated over and over again Higurashi-esque. Finally, he’s forced to eat several Pomeg berries, and then he’s given an extremely heavy weird machine-thing that gives him ultimate power. After killing several dozens of the wild Pokemon that appear before him, he’s suddenly sent off to battle with the other elite dudes. His countless brothers are left in the wild to die off miserably.

Yeah, Pokemon IS evil.

This reminds me of the infallible Poe's Law. This is one of the most immutable laws of the universe, and it states that all parody is indistinguishable from the object of parody. Or, in other words, any possible belief or position you can imagine is held by at least one person.

Anyway the Pope is infallible so what he says must be right, therefore Pokemon is good.

Clearly you know nothing about Christianity. The Pope is an agent of Satan who deceives people into becoming polytheistic devil-worshipers.

Sincerely,
The American Right

This isn't that surprising at all. Christianity has always been making its own belief system and its other followers retarded by tackling things like Pokemon. I could do a critical analysis of how BS this troll of a "mother" can be, but really, I'm just going to say that people like her can just be so naive and manipulated that their sense of perception is distorted by "god". In other words, how da f**k can you not appreciate even the cutest fantasized animals from an innocuous kids show from Japan?
