New archetype - the Retribution.
An archetype of EARTH Beast-Warrior-Type monsters who cannot attack by themselves, but instead force the opponent to attack them and then counterattack. All of the monsters have the following common effect:

"Cannot attack monsters. Once per turn, cannot be destroyed by battle. All monsters your opponent controls must attack "Retribution" monsters if able. If this card battles by a card effect, it gains 500 ATK during the Damage Step only. If this card is attacked, after damage calculation: Have it battle 1 monster your opponent controls."

So please comment! All constructive feedback is greatly accepted, help refine the archetype and tell me what you think about it.

I really like your "Retribution"-idea, but some of the effect-textes could be improved ;3

like: "All monsters your opponent controls must attack "Retribution" monsters if able" -> which monster has to be targeted? What if he has some himself?
i would like: "As long as a Retribution monster is in a Face-up position on the field, every monster has to attack during its owner turn if possible.

Another problem, how the hell are you going to attack your opponent directly?^^ You could a a phrase like: "If your opponent has no monsters on his side of the field, you may attack him directly with halfed ATK.", or something like this^^

But than again, i really like your counterattackidea ;-)

For the first mentioned text, it doesn't say which monster has to be targeted, it just says your opponent must attack "Retribution" monsters, no matter which one. So if you have 2 Retribution monsters and 1 random monster on the field, your opponent cannot attack the random monster, but can choose which Retribution monsters to attack. And you mean what happens if the opponent himself has a "Retribution" monster? Nothing different from having any other monster, since your opponent is unable to attack their own cards.

And yeah, I've already thought of direct attacking and I have some solutions in mind. Cards will come to solve that, or if I think that's not enough, I'll just modify their text to "Cannot attack monsters". This way nothing changes besides they gaining the ability to attack directly.

And thanks! I appreciate it that you like the idea, it took a lot of thinking to take form.

I like the concept! I would just change the first part of each monster to read: "This card cannot attack, except by a card effect." That way, the following effects don't contradict the first part. Also, I'm curious as to how a battle would occur outside of the Battle Phase. If that wouldn't work, maybe, for example, the effect of Hornbash could read: " ... target that monster; it becomes the Battle Phase. Change that monster to Attack Position. Your opponent must attack with that monster. ... " Or just some clarification on how battles occur outside of the Battle Phase! ^^ Also, I especially like the Spell Card support! I thought that Sudden Outbreak was very creative.

The part about the "cannot attack" wording is kinda strange since based on the official wording for cards like "Gravity Axe - Grarl", these actions inherent to a monster (attacking, changing battle position) are the only ones counted in the wording unless noted. Grarl says "Monsters your opponent controls cannot change their battle positions", yet their battle positions can still be changed by a card effect like Stumbling. So I think it's the same case here, that's why I didn't include a card effect clause. Also, they can attack directly (otherwise you could just not summon and they'd be unable to do a thing).

And even though battles outside the battle phase are not currently an effect that any existing card provides, I suppose it'd happen just the same way as a battle in the Battle Phase. However, battles created by card effects ("Equip Shot" and "Confusion Chaff") ignore many steps of battle and go straight to damage calculation (this means no "attack declaration" or "before damage calculation" effects apply, like Mirror Force or Ehren, Lightsworn Monk). That's about it, other than that it's a normal battle.

Also thanks for the comment and glad you like the archetype!
