Ride the Vanguard! Dragonic Overlo*shot*

All silliness aside, I'm submitting my finished app now. If there's anything I need to change, add, or remove, or anything else you'd like to address, Kyng, please inform me via PM.

Personal Information

Character Name: Silvan Beaseley
Sex: Male
Age: 19
Silvan is the epitome of a “nature lover”; indeed, his passion for nature is uncomfortably close to the borderline of being an obsession. Practically everything of the natural world pleases him in some way, shape, or form. Majesty, peace, a sense of freedom; he can find something attractive without a blink should someone ask him what exactly it is he sees in nature. Unlike most nature enthusiasts however, Silvan also thinks of the creations of modern society (cities and the like) as nature as well; just reshaped for humanity’s convenience. Silvan’s ardor is not restricted to mere admiration of nature, however. He can be found on occasion to literally be conversing with the wind, plants or animals. And despite the fact that such beings are unable to respond vocally, Silvan takes certain things to be responses (shifts in the wind’s movement, for example.)  Perhaps because of his particular love for the “unbridled” aspect of nature, Silvan is very much a creature of whim, which can be seen in his flip-flopping of attitudes and unorthodox style of combat. Aside from his passionate love for nature that dominates a good portion of who he is, one other factor also shines through at nearly all times: a playful immaturity that lends the impression of his being no older than a child. This stems from his philosophy of wanting to enjoy life as much as possible, and thus a belief that being like a child (free of worry and such) is the best way to do so. That’s not to say that Silvan is naïve and resentful of being burdened with responsibility, although he certainly can give an impression of being like such.
Silvan chose a “wilderness dweller” sort of look for his casual attire because it appealed to him and, so he says, it allows him to become better attuned to the “voices” of nature.

Combat Information

God: Cernunnos
Glorious Earthsplitter: A halberd with a golden blade. Silvan chose this weapon due to its versatility and effectiveness. Cernunnos has enchanted it so that it is much stronger and resilient compared to most weapons. Pretty much Silvan’s primary weapon. Given his whimsicalness however, Silvan takes to using it in a number of irregular ways, the most common of which being when he wields it with only one hand and in a manner similar to how one might swing a scythe.

Steely Wrath: An ordinary gauntlet of steel that Silvan wears on his left hand as an extra precaution. It is mainly used to block oncoming attacks, but is sometimes utilized to deliver a hard blow if he happens to be wielding his halberd in one of his unorthodox methods.

Land’s Caress: A medallion given to Silvan as a form of farewell gift after learning under his tutelage. It gives off an enhancing effect in increasing Silvan’s stamina, endurance, and agility, but not by any absurdly high margin; just enough for there to be a noticeable difference. This boost cannot be activated without a short incantation, and Silvan must both touch the center of the medallion and speak the incantation in full before it takes effect.

Seeds and Seedlings: Silvan carries two bags of these in a satchel he keeps with him at all times. If near empty, Silvan will head off on his own to replenish the supply.

Bramble Barricade: Silvan throws forth a number of seeds (or uses any that have already been sown) before invoking Cernunnos’ powers and imbuing them with life and accelerated growth. Said seeds then burst forth into bloom, creating a thicket of thorny vines to stop foes in their tracks. The thorns are almost always poisonous, and thus will leave an opponent woozy with the effects of the venom should they attempt to tear their way through. The seeds Silvan chooses must be of a plant that produces shrubbery and is venomous in nature for this to work.

Constricting Foliage: A variant of Bramble Barricade, where Silvan launches a number of seeds directly onto his target(s) instead. The accelerated growth of the seeds leaves the unfortunate victim ensnared in a web of vines that last for forty-five seconds before they wither from the forced growth.

Call of the Savage Hunt: Letting loose a feral howl, Silvan opens forth a gateway into Cernunnos’ realm; more specifically, into the area where the god keeps his hounds. The wolves and dogs belonging the god spring forth, allowing him their service for the maximum length of eight minutes. They understand human speech, which makes giving orders easier.  Being among the chosen companions of a nature god, they are also stronger than ordinary animals of their same breed would be.

Calvary of the Horned God: In a similar manner to Call of the Savage Hunt, Silvan opens a portal to the barracks of the horned beasts (stags, elk, moose, etc.) that serve under Cernunnos, this time by giving a loud whistle. The time limit for these beasts is also eight minutes at most, and they share a similar intelligence and supernatural strength.

Recognition: More of a passive ability than anything, Silvan can recognize the identity of a plant just from initiating physical contact with it, even if it’s still a seed.
Other Information

-Silvan means “of the forest “ in Latin, while Beaseley is partially derived from an Old English word meaning “woodland clearing”.

-Due in part to his playful nature, Silvan enjoys teasing people he finds as the “serious” type. Part of the fun, he says, is in their reactions, so getting angry at him for this will not deter him in the slightest.

-Silvan can be found wearing a serene-seeming smile on his face at all times, save the few occasions where appearing happy would not be appropriate (like a funeral). Whether he does so to psyche others out or not is unclear, although some people have certainly found it unnerving.
