Loyalist Posted March 22, 2013 Report Share Posted March 22, 2013 How it works: It's very simple (At least in my opinion it is), first all contestants choose to either create a 'good guy' deck or a 'bad guy' deck and enter their chosen one here. Using those decks everyone will compete in a 'winner takes all' tournament on the Duel Portal (Will post link soon) if the crashes get fixed (otherwise I will have to distribute the prizes as appropriate). NOTE: By 'hero' I am not limiting you to super heroes and villains so long as it follows the theme of good vs evil ;) Everyone can watch - It will be a single duel and the winner will receive 100% of the pot ^^ Rules and guidelines: 1. I reserve the right to kick you out of the contest. 2. Your deck must be appropriate and suit it's theme. 3. All regular rules for this forum apply. 4. You must submit before the deadline. 5. Your deck MUST follow the deck guidelines (stated below) 6. I reserve the right to randomly change these rules at anytime. How to enter: 1. Donate a minimum of 20 points to the pot. 2. Announce which deck you want to make - Hero or villain. 3. Make and enter the decklist following the deck guidelines. The deck guidelines - IMPORTANT 1. Your MAIN deck must contain exactly 40 cards. 2. You will post a decklist with the name of every card in it and the amount of each card. 3. You can use any cards in yugioh (not just custom ones) using the March advanced 2013 format as a guide. 4. Your allowed a MAX of 10 custom cards (any quantity of each) in your MAIN deck. 5. You are allowed a 15 card extra deck with a MAX of 3 custom cards (not counting towards the ones in the main deck). 6. You can have up to 3 copies of a custom card in your main/extra deck unless I think the card is overpowered. ... 6. You will be deducted points if I think your deck is overpowered (Because I know you will try to make an OP deck to win the prize :P) [spoiler='Judging guide'] Every set of custom cards will be assessed using the guidelines - Role (how well it suites the theme of being a hero/villain) n/20 Balance (Because people who want win the contest may try to use Op cards) n/10 Aesthetics (How cool the art is and how good the concept is) n/10 NOTE: If I think a specific card is OP I may put "ILLEGAL" next to it which means if you wish to use it in the contest it will be limited or you may have to edit it. By hero/villains I ment all the cards have to have an evil/good theme not actually super heroes and villains (e.g. you can use demons as the villains and paladins as the heroes - sill good guys vs bad guys right?) so make whatever you want, you have the freedom ^^ Post both the custom cards AND the decklist - both will be checked for balance. The idea is to create a deck using your custom cards as the main structure but with real life cards as support. But on that note I will add a new rule - You are allowed to create up to 3 extra deck cards (max 3 of each copy). The reason I have not set that is because it may be difficult to organise with different timezones but don't worry because if this becomes large enough I will make rounds have time limits of 2-3 days where the winner submits their results and the loser confirms (like YCM legends almost) I think I will have maybe teams (all good decks vs all evil decks) and have a point system - Sounds like the most likely set-up if nobody has any better suggestions. The main problem is that as we are in different timezones if I gave everyone a single date some people could miss that date. It's just not possible to have 1 set date unless everyone can agree on a single time. As watching duels seems to cause it to crash I cannot watch. It is up to you guys to find a suitable time (unless you REALLY want me to do it..) !Post your cards here first before the duel so that I can mod them!
