Warfare - Darkness from the Trenches [PG-16][OOC] [Not Started|Accepting]

Recommended Posts

December 1st, 1918
It has been three weeks since the Germans surrendered. We thought the war was over. We went back to our families and saw our children for the first time in four years. But we were wrong...this war will never end. The Germans produced soldiers that even the Empire cannot kill with several bullets. These soldiers...they aren’t living. The faces tell stories...agony, pain and bloodlust. Some say they made a deal with the Devil...but I don’t believe that. The sun never sets on Britannia, even on the horizon of these half-breeds. These demons...I saw them rip apart a friends’ body like paper and scissors. I don’t know what those Jerries were thinking when they created these abominations of the earth.

Almighty God, save us from this hell! The demons have risen from the trenches and are moving towards Britannia! We must protect our king and country. The French have fallen and the remnants are taking refuge here. There is some good news, however. A mere shot to the head will put them back into the ground, as a major found out yesterday afternoon. There is hope for the Empire after all – these ‘undead’, as the soldiers here have begun to call them, can at last be shot and they will stay on the ground instead of getting up again.
You (the participants), will each play a soldier of any European origin, or you could play a basic survivor with at least some skill (cooking, manufacturing [factories], etc.) You will fight to save Europe as a combined unit of ex-military and civilian survivors, as when the governments of the world found out about the undead situation, they immediately shut themselves in old bunkers and blitz shelters deep underground. You will be alone until you find the main group (or if you find a small group of survivors in a factory or something, PM me about this when you want to post something of the sort). Until then, you must survive in undead-occupied France alone, gathering supplies and ammunition (give or take, ammo and supplies won’t be very regular sights in a country that has been overrun for just over a month). If you choose to join up with the main group, you will be kitted with appropriate items, such as clothes, food and a gun.
Be warned...if you die...you stay dead.
1- All relevant YCM rules apply here.
2- No Godmodding, Metagaming or Powerplaying.
3- PvP must be arranged. I will not have people just posting about killing another player or fighting with them without their permission and subsequent planning of it.
4- This rp is set in the UK at the time of the First World War. Please try to be sensible about what you post.
5- Try to post about 5-6 lines at least in this rp to create some form of story for the next poster to build upon.
6- No posting in script format.

7- Copy-pasting or “expying” characters without tailoring them to the new RP is forbidden.

Other Information: [Things that don’t look like they go anywhere else.]

Name: Major Charles Watson
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Appearance: Charles is roughly 6"5, and is rather skinny, usually standing straight. He is a fairly pale man with brown, short hair and a small mustache. His eyes are a blueish colour and his eyebrows are fairly thick. He is always seen with a straight face, never changing. He wears a standard military officer uniform, only with a few changes: the colour is black to stand out in a charge, the buttons are a lot more detailed and ornate, and there are several secret pockets situated around his coat. Furthermore, he wears his sheath along his right waist, also having a holder for his rifle and several packs of ammunition on his back. He wears an expensive ring on the index finger of his right hand which bears the insignia of his family and the date of his birth.
Personality: Charles comes from an extremely wealthy family that is a main benefactor in the Royal Navy, creating designs for newer military-class vessels that advance the intentions of the Empire and all its counterparts. Therefore, he is extremely patriotic, loyal to the British Empire, and somewhat elitist, sometimes slightly arrogant. He speaks with a full, educated British accent and sometimes sounds hateful of people around him, however he is good at thinking and leading, making him a very useful person to have in a team. He does not enjoy making anything suffer, much preferring to just end their misery by execution with his sabre. Thus, he does not allow the suffering of any man, alive or undead, in this case. He does not normally let his weapons do the talking, however - he has been known to have spoken his way out of trouble in the past.
Bio: Born to a wealthy family on September 26th, 1883 in Oxford, Charles was an arrogant child, instilled with the traditions of the Empire and beliefs of the family. He was never one to play games with the other children of his age, always preferring to stay at home and read books, rather than 'mingle with the unintelligent masses'. Once he was 18 years of age, he volunteered to help create the designs that his family had become famous for, eventually making key amendments to his father's designs, including near-fatal design flaws, that, although small, could have proved deadly if found by the wrong people. he continued this until 1904, after which he enlisted into the military force, sensing massive tensions between powers in Europe. He took part in the expedition to Tibet on March 31st, where he proved his versatility in combat and asserted his natural leadership skills. He stayed in Tibet until the end of the conflict in September. The year after, he had returned home, a hero by his family's standards, and was welcomed by many old friends who he had left behind. He was joined by these friends and his family in the waiting of the First Moroccan Crisis. In 1906, he had returned to his books in the study of his family's manor, increasing his own intelligence and furthering his interests as a leader of men. In the years leading up to WWI, Charles waited with bated breath for the Germans to attack Belgium, as he knew that the Belgians would put up one hell of a fight until the British could get there. In the years of WWI, he immediately enlisted because of conscription and was promoted to his current rank for his service in Tibet. He spent most of the war in the trenches with the soldiers he was tasked with, increasing general morale overall.

Traits: He is blessed with the gifts of Leadership, Accuracy, and Intelligence, however he is hindered by his elitist, noble attitudes towards other people which, more often than not, causes him to turn his nose up at many people he deems unworthy of his presence.
Weapon Proficiencies: Rifles, Sharp Weapons (Starting with: Short Magazine Lee-Enfield Mk II, Ornate Cavalry Sabre)
Other Information: N/A

technically it comes under throwing weapons - This was a weapon from ancient times, which allows the user to throw the dart out at a long range target and use the rope to pull it back, as Wikipedia pulls up.

EDIT: Reserve accepted.

I know what it is, otherwise I wouldn't have asked to use it.

Of well, I guess it doesn't really matter what category it's in, as long as I can use it.

Name: Arashi
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: Arashi is about 6' tall, somewhat athletic looking, with dark brown hair; cut short to about two-three inches. His typical clothing is made of a T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans and black boots. He is usually wearing a Black leather jacket over his shirt. When he takes off his shirt a single tattoo can be seen on his chest, with the words "Timor Omnis Abesto" a phrase which means "let fear be far from all". Most of the time he has a clean shave, rarely letting his facial hair grow for more than a week.
Personality: Arashi has conflicting personalities; a love for fighting, but also a strong hate for seeing others in pain. He is normally a king a gentle person which causes him to, weather he wants to or not, hold back in combat, rarely attacking anybody with his full strength. Above all, Arashi cares about those around him, especially his friends, this has proven both good and bad: The advantage is that his gentle nature disappears when protecting others; The down fall is that he will, without hesitation, do whatever it takes to save his friends, despite what is best in the long run.
