For a Monster that got so much face-time in the anime, Witty Phantom isn't all that great of a card, is it? Let's fix that.

This archetype is centered around these three Monsters:

Not that great, right? Well, let's try giving them some support:

WDup506.jpg

If you have "Witty Phantom" on your side of the field, banish from your hand, field, or graveyard the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card that has "Witty Phantom" as a Fusion Material, then Special Summon that monster from your Extra Deck. If all of the banished Monsters were on your field, set this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

If you have "Elegant Phantom" on your side of the field, you may Synchro Summon a Monster that specifically requires "Elegant Phantom" as a Synchro Material by banishing the Tuner and Synchro Materials from your hand, field or Graveyard. If all of the banished Monsters were on your field, set this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

If you have "Vicious Phantom" on your side of the field, you may use this card to ritual summon any Monster that requires this card. You must also banish monsters from your field, hand or grave whose total Levels equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. "Vicious Phantom" must be one of the Monsters banished. If all of the banished Monsters were on your field, set this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

But with the above, it's still not great. Decent, but not great. Let's try one more addition:

iAqxcWE.jpg

Once per turn, when "Witty Phantom," "Elegant Phantom," or "Vicious Phantom" is banished by one of your card effects, you may special summon it to your side of the field.

...And now the beginnings of a picture begin to form. With one of those cards plus "The Darkness," having one of the three phantoms lets you use that phantom as Ritual, Fusion, or Synchro fodder without it leaving your side of the field, and you can take materials from your graveyard as well as your field or hand (The latter being something you can't normally do for Synchro-summoning either). SO what are the Monsters summonable through these cards? Well, let's start with the Ritual Monsters.

ExzaOFm.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When this card is ritual summoned, special summon one "Skandal Token" (Fiend-type/Tuner/DARK/Level 2/ATK 1600/DEF 1600). So long as there is a "Skandal Token" on the field, this Monster may only be removed from the field by your own card effects.

This is the Ritual Monster that the other Ritual Monsters were based off of. Nearly all of the Ritual Monsters in this Archetype have a beneficial effect that also brings out a Tuner for Elegant Phantom's Synchro Summons. Now let's look at the rest:

nU7OhXA.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When you Ritual Summon this Monster, summon 1 "Thinker Token" (Fiend-type/Tuner/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1900/DEF 400) on your side of the field. Every time you successfully ritual summon a Monster, increase "Thinker Token"s attack by 400. If this card is removed from the field, destroy "Thinker Token."

2FgwNSM.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When you successfully Ritual Summon this Monster, take control of 1 level 6 or lower Monster on your opponent's side of the field. That Monster becomes a level 2 Fiend-Type Tuner Monster with 0 attack and defense. If this Monster is destroyed, the Monster controlled by its effect is returned to your opponent's side of the field and gains 2000 attack.

tIT9p8I.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When you Ritual Summon this Monster, summon 1 "Solitude Token" (Fiend-type/Tuner/DARK/Level 2/ATK 400/DEF 400) on your opponent's side of the field in attack position. This Token may not be used as a tribute for anything other than a Synchro Summon. So long as there is a "Solitude Token" on your opponent's side of the field, this Monster gains 700 attack and defense.

The exceptions to that generalization are these:

GfeleTn.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." Tribute 1 Tuner Token: Add "Cruel Calling," "Calculated Composition," or "Clever Creation" from your graveyard to your hand.

wmsL0CD.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When this Monster is banished: select 1 Banished Fiend-Type Monster other than "Charnel Charoness" and add it to your hand.

XGmjzmm.jpg

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Ritual Summoned by "Cruel Calling." When you Ritual Summon this Monster, equip 1 Token on either side of the field to this card. During your Battle Phase, you may tribute the token equipped to this Monster to increase its attack by 1000 until your End Phase. This Monster then loses 500 attack and 1000 defense.

...Though the second one can itself be used as a Tuner, so it's not a complete exception. On to the Synchros!

The Synchros have something of a theme themselves: They indiscriminately boost stats, albeit for monsters that your opponent is unlikely to be using. Like so:

1 Fiend-Type Tuner + "Elegant Phantom"

While this Monster is face-up on the field, increase the attack and defense of Fusion Monsters by 400.

I mean, when was the last time someone used a Fusion Monster against you?

During your End Phase, return all banished monsters to their respective graveyards.

ExsCdg3.jpg
1 Tuner + "Elegant Phantom"+any number of Monsters
When you activate the effects of "Cruel Calling" or "Clever Creation," you may banish Monsters from your deck for their effect.

...Though these last two are a bit different, as they instead expedite the use of this archetype. "Everdeep Marrow" essentially lets you reuse Monster that you used as fodder for ritual and fusion summons, while "Flickermind Marrow" lets you extend the effects to your deck as well as your grave hand and field.

Lastly, the Fusions. These also developed a theme as I was working on them, namely boosting the combat ability of your fiends without actually changing their attack and defense, as best exemplified by this one:

FPa88BQ.jpg
"Witty Phantom"+1 Fiend-Type Monster
Switch this Monster's position: Fiend-type Monsters deal Piercing Damage until your end phase.

It is, again, rather indiscriminate, and his time more dangerously so; your opponent's more likely to be using fiend Monsters than they are to be using Fusions.

"Witty Phantom"+1 Fiend-Type Monster

While this Monster and "The Darkness" are on the field: When a Fiend-type Monster that you control does battle with your opponent's Monster, destroy that Monster with this card's effect after damage calculation.

While this Monster and "The Darkness" are on the field: The effects of Monsters destroyed by Fiend-Type Monsters that you control are negated.

Though there are also fusion Monsters that require something more specific than "Any Fiend." And its these ones that generally ignore the theme of the Dark Assembly Fusions:

"Witty Phantom"+"Vicious Phantom"
When you successfully Ritual Summon a Monster: place a "Darkness Token" on this card. Remove 1 Darkness Token from this Card: Destroy 1 non-Fiend-Type Level 6 or Lower Monster, or banish 1 Monster from either player's grave.

When you successfully Fusion-Summon this card, summon two "Dark Servitor" Tokens (Fiend-type/Tuner/DARK/Level 2/ATK 1900/DEF 400) on your side of the field in attack position.

So there you have it. It's a work in progress, admittedly (The Synchro Monsters in particular need work, I think), but I'm far enough along that I think I'm ready to show it and ask for advice, so fire away!
