For this contest we will hang the OCG up to dry for a bit. Your challenge is to create a Normal Monster Card (It cannot be a tuner either). What I am looking for in this contest is creativity, which means an interesting description, an original name, oh and balance of course. There are no other limitations other than it must be a realistic type and attribute used by Konami You will be marked on the following: Name /5 Description /20 Image /10 Balance /10 Originality /5 Total of 50 Here is an example of what I mean. [spoiler='See what I'm looking for'][/spoiler] Deadline is 14th February Here is the reward system. I will start the Pot off with 30 Points 1st Place Gets 50% of the Pot. 2nd Place Gets 30% of the Pot. 3rd Place Gets 20% of the pot. The entry fee is based on your level; 2 Star members - 10 Points 3 Star members - 20 Points 4 Star members and Higher - 30 Points Current Pot: 120 Participants 1. Doctor Doom - Entry Paid - Hoshiyo Leviathan 2. Blue Amoonguss - Entry Paid - Jigglypuff, singing puffball 3. 4. plaba - Not yet Paid - (waiting for card) 5. I have made some alterations to the rules. Do you still want to be added and you can pay when/if you get an idea. Thanks to everyone who has so far entered but there has been a mistake that I take full blame for. All cards must have a proper type used by konami. I am very sorry for those who have misunderstood because of my instruction and if would please make alterations that would be brilliant. Once again I'm sorry for the confusion. Oriannis Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 14, 2014 Ok So here are the results! [spoiler='Results'] Doctor Doom Name - 4 - An Interesting name and fits with the card. Hoshiyo gives the monster a unique identity. Description - 16 This is obviously a monster of much power so the description is fitting and the bit about causing storms is good. What I like is how it should have died centuries ago but its clearly still alive. what a mystery. Image - 7.5 Good Image but seems a tad stretched and a bit underwhelming. Balance - 8 I can see a Blue-eyes mirror here which is not a problem. DEF is a tad high by about 200 Originality - 4 Your own creation and overall a nice Sea Serpent instead of dragon which I like Total - 39.5 Blue Amoonguss Name - 4 Accurate and Cute! works well with a level 3 Description - 13 Some spelling errors but again, accurate. You also lost marks for the serial and circulation. Image - 7 Not Bad, background is a bit bland. Balance - 8 Average stats for a level 3. Originality - 1 Considering its a well known Pokemon from the anime. This speaks for itself. Total - 32 Plaba - Disqualified - Sorry but you didn't pay the entry fee and failed to specify a particular card for me to judge. Char The Blade Master Name - 4 Another Blue-eyes but with a chilling undeadness (I made that word up) to it. I like the touch that a Blue-Eyes can be amungst the undead. Description - 17 At first I was thinking "yeah this seems right" but the final sentance sent shivers down my spine because of how sinister it was. Image 8 - Fitting and good quality. Balance 8 - A more powerful version of Blue-Eyes but with a big chunk out of the defense maybe too much of a chunk though. Originality 3 - A Interesting new spin on a pre-existing monster. Total - 40 Someone Name - 3 I like the unique name but the "legendary Dragon" is a bit old. Description - 16 "Who conquers the legendary ocean" sounds like a constant win streak for this monster which I think is a demonstration of it's power, not to mentioned fury rainstorms. "Nothing can withstand" Nothing at all? Impressive given the strength of it. Image - 9 A nice crisp image with a good background. very much like Konami Balance - 9 Can't really argue with the stats for its level. Originality - 4 overall an original monster with an interesting name but i think the name let it down slightly.
