and heres the story behind it.

I recently posted this in my status, and wouldn't normally post something about this. But the amount of profound lack of care is extremely disturbing. Awareness needs to be raised. This is not acceptable, in any form.

Rest in peace Vader.

It is the police officer's fault he got bitten. He cornered the animal and unprofessionally handled the animal in a manner that is threatening and potentially harmful to the animal. It merely acted in defence.

The authorities were used by some crazy person and are at fault for allowing something like this to happen. This only strengthens my belief that most of America is a straight out failure of a country. The people may not all be, but some people who happen to be part of the authorities have failed their jobs.

FUCK DA POLICE

That is all.

But that's still blind bigotry.  If this happened in any other country no one would mention where it happened.  But in America...

So cop without a warrant corners a fox, gets bitten because he doesn't know how to handle said fox, and in order to test if it had rabies they have to euthanize it? Completely disregarding the fact that if the moron who grabbed it got rabies, it would be a pretty good indication that it had rabies, no they have to kill it because tests. How exactly would they even go about explaining things if it was clean which it probably was anyway? "Oh, whoops." I thought stupidity had limits, but apparently not.

Legitimately couldn't read the entire thing.

I honestly could not imagine someone coming to my house and having the fucking audacity to tell me they're taking what is essentially a member of my family on accounts of an "anonymous tip".

I honestly could not imagine someone coming to my house and having the f***ing audacity to tell me they're taking what is essentially a member of my family on accounts of an "anonymous tip".

That's the reason this is fucked up the most.  Some don't understand that, when you treasure that pet so much.  When you love them the way you do, they are family.  As far as I'm concerned, technical terms aside, this is cold murder.  Take that bastard's job away and put him in a hole.

Okay....according to all this they did not have a permit for the fox.

Lesson learned, always get a permit.  *shot*

The cops are freaking idiots. Always have been always will be.

That's why I can't respect half of authority figures for half a crap.

Anonymous tips are freaking retarded. People get swatted, animals get killed, what next? I can't name a godang time this tip system has helped people. This is quickly making me irritated....such stupidity. YOU CAN'T EVEN HANDLE A FOX RIGHT....YOU DESERVE MUCH MORE THAN A BITE, IDIOOOOTTTSSSS

Oh wait. It all makes sense now.

I know it's not the answer and I would have gotten my ass shot or arrested, but I would have fought the cops.

Hell I live in Florida.  If they didn't have a warrant and just barged in I could probably outright shoot them.   BUT KILLING IS BAD DON'T DO IT.

Not really. I mean what would video games be like without death? Tetris Extreme? XD

Anyway I woulda fought the cops too. I would've had broke limbs but I would have fought them.

I was sitting right next to my dog when I read this and I'm still crying as I type this message. Not only does thinking of somebody doing this to my dog (and I don't know how your friend handled it, but I would've been cursing these cops out had they tried to do this to me), but just the fact of the capacity of human cruelty.

I don't know the laws in North Dakota, but my dad is a state cop were I live, and I know full well that you can't enter somebody's house without a warrant in any state. This cops idiocy made me literally feel the sudden need to be violent, because this entire situation is fucking sick (pardon my language, but I'm a big animal person). There was nothing humane about the fox's euthanization.

Sue the cop(s) for infingement of rights, sue the vet for unlawful treatment of animals, and sue the bastard who made the false report for producing false evidence!

I am so sorry about your friends loss, and that my feelings go out to her and her family, I can't imagine the pain she must be feeling. Like Chris when you get attached to animal it becomes a part of your family, I can't imagine life without my dog. As far as I'm concerned this is just as bad as killing a human.

I don't think Dyson or whoever knows this person, but dang that was nicely worded. Kudos.

And this is worse than killing a human. Human are nothing but scum. Oh hai there

If anything, the cop in this case disobeyed instructions on how to handle it. It's his own fault it bit him. In addition, how dare they kill that fox w/out proper evidence that it had rabies or not. And entering without a warrant? That breaks one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights (protection from unnecessary search and seizure)

That activist who reported Vader should get themselves killed for doing this. Then again, they should've done research to actually prove that Vader bit someone and was dangerous. Just because an animal is exotic, doesn't mean that they have rabies/are a danger to us. It has been said that humans are the dirtiest creatures on earth; this probably validates that statement.

I live in Hawaii (as far as I know, we've had none of this). If the cops in here did that, I sure as hell am going to stand up for it.

The people in this case disgust me even worse than companies that do unnecessary animal tests, and that says a lot.

I understand the topic and don't wanna be that guy, but thinking like this makes you no better than that activist.

Not really.  I mean yeah, the reporter shouldn't literately die, but being angry at someone in retaliation is not nearly as bad as sticking your nose into someone's business and doing awful things to them.

Surely they would have need to prove that Vader actually did bite said person, through the tooth marks. A picture cannot be adequate evidence if it is digitial unless someone can go into it's meta data to prove it was never tampered with.

Not correctly handling Vader to take him away, was just plain stupid. Any animal particularly one with alot of predatory blood in it will still attack, because it's fight instinct reveals itself.

Unfortunately, if it was proven he had drawn blood, I would have to side with the police, if they could do a live test with rabbies, but how many people own a Silver Fox. It's a prime example of why not to keep a wild animal. They still have that possibility to attack and hurt someone, and could. I know my small Yorkshire Terrier if mishandled will bite me and has gotten angry at atleast 2 dogs in the last 3 months (usually getting in his face), so you cannot deny the possibility that even a domestic animal will lash out, and a wild animal will be far more likely.

Also on the rarity of owning a Silver Fox, how would they know what Rabbies signs to look for?

Being angry? No, I don't think so. Being angry to the point where you verbally abuse them? Yes, I do think so.
