No Instant Fusion BUT overally better build against removal heavy decks

This last effect is cause for concern regarding card interactions. As the equipped monster is currently being treated as an Equip Spell, it is not considered a monster and hence will not be a legal target for monster-targeting removal.

What if it says if this card is targeted by a card effect you can negate the card effect destroy the equipped monster

That would be preferred. Lore would now read:

 

"Once per turn: You can equip target 1 monster on the field; equip it to this card. This card's original ATK and DEF become the same as the equipped monster's original ATK and DEF. (Only 1 monster can be equipped at a time by this effect.) If this card would be destroyed by battle, destroy the equipped monster is destroyed instead. Whenever this card would be is targeted for an by a card effect: You can negate that effect, and if you do, destroy change the target to the equipped monster instead."

 

One-equip-only restriction added to prevent confusion if it has equipped multiple monsters.

How strong is it?

In terms of power, it's fine honestly. What makes Thousand Eyes Restrict banworthy is how easily you can bypass it's Fusion Summoning conditions via Instant Fusion/Metamorphosis, and how it prevents other monsters from attacking or changing positions at all.

 

On the plus side, this card can have many equips at a time and has a lot of protection against destruction, but since you only grab something once per turn, maybe your opponent can work around that before it builds up too much.

There's nothing except Polymerization that could Fusion Summon this card, so that's another balancing factor, even with Fusion substitutes. At least IMO.

I mean I could see this in like a Beast King Deck turning it into a serious beater with its only weakness being Dark Hole and T Tribute. summon Beast King equip it and it turns into a 3000K beater with Collesum it would be AWESOME I wish I had art for it though :(.

It's fine. To be fair, it's as much of an impact as Destiny HERO Plasma, without the need to tech much other stuff like Polymerization and rather than protection, it locks monster effects and has starting 1900 ATK.
