When I said mechanically I meant in the terms of the abilities that they have as an individual more than anything else.  Just seemed like one would be at a significant disadvantage were they not an Alfar, but all the same there are the reasons beyond the seeming disadvantages to do so.

I must have missed whatever said that, but I tend to only make one character at a time anyways.

On a new subject, what sort of requirements are there for creating a new Race/Species?

I'd like some details on how they live and would prefer something bipedal and humanoid. And as for disadvantages of being Alfar, indeed there are none. Raine is accepted. Cray-Crow, what kind of soldier is your character?

@Neph: Any race is playable.

@Jolta: Hm... robots are fine, but they aren't strictly a race. As for sentience, I will have that sentience has yet to be scientifically proven, but robots are indeed sentient in this RP. Note that since Mugen asked first, robots will be following Asimov's laws, unless you wish to be secretly an illegal experiment of sorts.

@Sonic: If you wish to have a custom mech at the start, you will need a reason. Otherwise... I gotta go find a basic Empire mech design to put in the OP. As for some sort of grander thing, there can be an opportunity for that later, so just provide me with what you want later on I suppose.

I would personally prefer most characters to be on the Empire's side, even if reluctantly so that we can all be together for most of the RP.

oh hooh we can make our own species?

That's pretty interesting.

Anyways, I have a few possible ideas, but here's two:

1| Half-human/Half-magitech? Sort of like with what I did in the Clockwork Souls RP maybe? Like originally human or Alfar or something, but injured or something, and replaced injured/dead/functionless side with magitech? Or maybe willingly did it to self or something for enhancing purposes? How would Empire/Alfar react to this? Does magic even exist? Or would it be more of the Spiral Power/Eternal Flame thing?

2| How would Alfar/Empire react to a halfing? (Half-elf/half-human)

Honestly I think having more than two races and everything inbetween (not counting robots) would make things more troublesome than anything. Racism against robots is all the racism we want, really.

Not to mention, we'd be basing an entire species on a few individuals, and that sort of generalization usually degrades sci-fi works by a good bit.

"[acronym="Her attitude towards the Lesser Race."]"Who are you again? My apologies, I don't remember the names of Lesser Races.[/acronym]"

Personal Information
Name: [acronym="mith-na-RELL seir-ay-DEEN"]Mithna'rel "Mithna" Cereidene[/acronym]
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Pure Blood Alfar
Birth: December 25th
sinon_render_by_scope10-d699g5r.png

Mithna has an immaculately clean and smooth skin, almost to the point of being doll-like at times. She has light blue hair split into two ponytails at the side, with metal clips, and eyes of a darker shade of blue. Her trademark appearance is a combat-esque uniform sort of attire, with carbon fiber cups to cover her - small - breasts, which wrap around with straps to stay securely on. Attached to the cups are her undergarments, which compose of a rather small amount of fabric, with a light grey sash down her center, and olive green on the sides, along with several black straps. Her pants are practically non-existent, and consist of very short black pants belted together with a clip-buckle system. Olive green sashes run down the sides of her legs, tied on with black straps. Over the undergarments, she wears a small longsleeve-jacket of mostly olive green, with black and white highlights along the edge. Finally, over the jacket, she always has a long white scarf on, which has a black line running through the center on either side, and has a strange symbol on the front. She is somewhat on the shorter end, at 161 cm, and has a somewhat slim figure, but not an unhealthy one.

Her personality is about as two-sided it can get, but unlike some people, who hide one with the other, both are entirely genuine, for her. The side she shows to her friends, and fellow Alfar reveals her kind nature, and she is very sociable, and is quite the extrovert. Smiling most of the time, and pulling pranks, telling jokes, she also has a passion for the more hands-on sorts of work, and doesn't mind getting dirty. Serious when she needs to be, she would be the sort of person one might want as a friend. However, on the flip side, when dealing with the Lesser Races, due to how she was raised, while she appears respectful, one can pick up the acid tongue she hides behind a calm smile. While seeing her sneer or otherwise express her disgust is uncommon, due to having been raised as such, and to be more diplomatic, one can read between the lines and distinguish it very easily. She wouldn't openly start to rant or express violence on a Lesser Race without a good amount of provoking, but it is quite obvious that she looks down upon them.

A rather interesting thing about Mithna is that while she is a girl, and it's quite obvious she is, even with the smaller 'bounty', she's more of a tomboy, with her wild and physical nature, preferring to do various activities, doesn't mind getting dirty if she's enjoying some activity - such as digging to search for random interesting bits and scraps - and doesn't really mind too much of the more feminine sort of activities. However, while she doesn't mind being less feminine in most cases, she does get a little peeved at times if too many people mistake her for a guy in a short period of time. Also, while she denies wanting a more 'gifted' body, claiming it would be heavier, less aerodynamic, and pointless, if someone makes a barb about her chest size, to say the least, she wouldn't appreciate it very much.

In social skills and teamwork, she doesn't mind working with people, and in fact rather enjoys it. While she does have pride, she doesn't mind being the one to help out rather than try to lead over everything, but doesn't mind it either if she is the leader for the particular moment. However, this is for strictly Alfars only, and when dealing with the Lesser Races, she usually finds a way to get out of it, and not work with them. In an emergency scenario, it's unknown how far this can get pushed, and whether she may give in, although if she does, it would be only for the need of the moment, and she wouldn't care much for it later. Later, in her own head, she might even consider the thought that she would rather have died then have to be helped by a Lesser Race, but probably just dismiss it. Between Alfar and Lesser Race though, she would unhesitatingly let the Lesser Race suffer, in favor of the Alfar, unless the Lesser Race suffering would have serious repercussions.

To sum it up, to her fellow Alfar, she's a sweet girl who doesn't mind helping others, and seems to have lots of fun in everything she does, but to the Lesser Races who can see through her diplomacy, they would most likely view her as disgusting. While she is to blame as well, her parents, and their parents, and long back, to the roots of the racism, would be the true core of the issue, where Alfar view themselves as superior over the Lesser Races, because they are elite in most aspects, and use it to claim supremacy over the rest.

Admiral
The Admiral is practically the iconic sort of male that Mithna wouldn't mind being with. Extremely high ranking, as royalty, and thus pure-blooded Alfar obviously. She certainly doesn't mind him being the Admiral. However, she wonders at his bored expression, on the normal day, but attributes it to him being more of a tactics and battle sort of man, and this can certainly be proven, given how his nature changes in mere moments. The fire that enters his eyes is captivating, and Mithna loves it, due to how exciting it feels, and how much fun that the Admiral must be having. However, there's a dangerous glint in his eyes at time, causing Mithna to remain wary. A royal wolf on a joyride. While she gets the reason why the Admiral must work with the Lesser Races, she doesn't really like it that much.

Lucius
As Lucius is a human, Mithna automatically is prejudiced towards him, and given the fact that he is also worships some other religion, over the Alfar religion, she would be even further biased against him. While she herself does believe in the Alfar religion, she's far from a devout disciple, but still values it much more over any other, as it is the Alfar religion. The fact that Lucius is also such a determined sort of person could spark matches with her, as she wouldn't get why a simple human would work so hard, even when it's futile, not realizing she is much the same. However, she does note his ability and skill in the sciences, even if it's distasteful, but feels any Alfar even slightly trained in that field could do better - a result of her prejudice.

Lore
Given that Lore is quite obviously not even close to Alfar, or even human, she'd be quite prejudiced against Lore, and wouldn't bother with her mostly. As a competitive spirit though, she'd fight tooth and nail for superiority, even if only to show that Alfar are superior. She gets quite annoyed about how much the Bai'Shujh makes a point on how much more feminine she is, knowing she can't win in that field.

Herrman
As Herrman seems to be a human, Mithna is rather prejudiced against him, but sometimes, she feels like something's a little off, although she can never quite place it. Given that a human is so close to the Admiral though is unpleasant, as she can't imagine a human being able to get into that kind of position, and wonders just what Herrman is.

Tobias
The fact that Tobias is an Alfar, and a pure blood at that, automatically means that Mithna would be at ease, and act like her usual kinder self, when around him. Given her own headstrong personality at times, liking to go ahead and off by herself, she views the Alfar as foolish at times, but admires the fact that it seems like a life like that seems an immensely fun one, being able to do as freely as one pleases.

Adora
Given she's an Alfar, Mithna would afford her actual time, if she wanted to talk to Mithna, or socialize, or whatnot of the sort. The irresponsible personality makes it seem incredibly fun to be around her, and she's decently pretty as well as 'free', for the lack of a better word. However, given the arrests and rather strange history, Mithna tends to be slightly wary of her.

Eryn
First of all, the fact that she's human prejudices Mithna against her, but what makes it even worse is that Eryn is also part Alfar. Mithna cannot stand the hybrids, of all things, as it means that an Alfar lowered himself enough to the standard of having s-s-s- *polite cough* children with a human, even if it's a half-human woman, which is even worse, because it meant it went back another generation. And to think the man was a nobleman is honestly rather disgusting, considering someone of such high status would do that to himself. The fact she also looks like a complete human makes it entirely unpleasant to deal with her.

Roy
Revolting. Disgusting. Horrid. Perverted. Vicious. Dumb. Human. Even more than Eryn, she absolutely despises Roy, because first of all, the fact that he's a human. Second of all, and the most major reason, is how lascivious the human is, and that he brags it, and she couldn't care less for him, and almost has to prevent herself from gagging, when even near him. This high level of disgust and dislike for him makes her highly prejudiced, and her competitive spirit flares even more when around him. Also, she views his accomplishments as utter trash, and is unwilling to accept that a human could do it, it's fake, or some other excuse to try to break down any even slightly positive thing about him. She can't understand why at all that filthy, perverted, muscle-headed human gets to be in a class with Alfars. He entirely seems to despise the Alfar way of life and their race, and Mithna's feelings about humans get flared to the point they're mutual, whenever she's around Roy, not that she would ever want to be even in the same city as him. Due to this, when he's around, Mithna's personality tightens up, and becomes closer to her cruel and prejudiced side, just barely behind the line from snapping, and lashing out, with acid words to crush them.

Daiki
Daiki's a human, and is willing to help practically everyone. Mithna finds this unpleasant, as she couldn't imagine an Alfar who'd step down to the level of being helped by a human. He also seems to completely disregard the Spiral Power, and Mithna thinks he's foolish, given how much benefit Spiral Power can give, and that'd he'd completely abandon and reject it, in favor of hard work - what foolishness. Not that a human could wield Spiral Power anyways.

Ismina
Ismina is a pure Alfar, and quite skilled, even with her smaller stature, which Mithna doesn't mind at all. Her youthful and pretty face is attractive as well. She doesn't even slightly view it as a sign of weakness, and respects her. Mithna would attempt to befriend her, in an honest attempt, and not one to take advantage. She respects how she would fight fairly, is a seasoned commander more or less, and is quite knowledge. Her sharp eyes and ability to perceive and absorb the whole battle, and then view it from outside the box is quite astounding, and Mithna to be honest, is captivated by her, and looks up to her.

Draegan
Draegan's appearance is human, even, disgustingly enough, almost Alfar. However, he is not even close, a shape-shifting, regenerating, half-living freak. Mithna doesn't understand at all why the foolish boy keeps trying to manage to stay with the Alfar. There's no way it can work, and there never will be, given what the boy is. He even dares to say that his own race deserves a spot. As if. His carefulness in choosing his fights is respectable, but the fact he admires the humans immediately tarnishes it, and he even thinks humans have power. [acronym="Basically just like When Pigs Fly sorta thing."]The day humans turn Alfar.[/acronym]

All in All
She would be best with Ismina, and then perhaps the Admiral, after that, Tobias or Adora, but after that, she wouldn't particularly care for the rest, she would dislike Draegan, definitely not Eryn, and most definitely not that horrid wretch of a playboy.

Mithna is from a family long established in the creation of various weaponry and such related items, as well as being knowledgable and trained in the arts of war. The Cereidene name is branded upon all their creations, which range from guns, bladed weapons, mechas, cannons, slingshots, projectile launchers, and every other possible weapon you could think of. From birth, she was raised in the traditional way of Alfar children, with heavy prejudice against the Lesser Race, and thus this remained imprinted in her, and can still be seen today. The moment she was old enough to start fighting, around eight or so, her father taught her the ways of fighting, and she quickly grew used to all sorts of weapons, and soaked in the knowledge. By age thirteen, she was a capable fighter, and could use the bow and arrow, the crossbow, throwing weapons, knives, swords, short swords, whips, chain-whip swords, sniper rifles, pistols, revolvers, and most other weapons. The only ones she had some trouble with were the maces, the heavy-club like weapons, as she simply did not have the strength to wield these efficiently, even if she was much stronger than a typical Alfar female, and matched even Alfar boys. Unfaltering in her training, and matching her father's rigorous expectations - who to be honest, had wanted a male to be his heir, but decided to work with what he had - and her skills in fighting and learning to kill rocketed, but her father always made sure a strong moral code would always be imprinted in her - and it has. Due to this, she is unwilling to kill unless she has to, but in a fight, she wouldn't mind injuring a person, as long as she fights evenly. However, this had made her lonely in truth, and that is why she attempts to make friends. Due to her training starting from an early age, she never really had the chance to go out and play with the other kids, and thus didn't know how to socialize much, until she began to pick it up on her own, through observation skills. Besides the friends she talks to every now and then, her only companion really, is Jin, which is why she values him so much, and can confide in him. She has near completely forsaken her femininity, due to how long she had trained in a more masculine style, but it can still be evident, if she gets into a clash with another, more voluptuous woman, who won't hesitate to brag, or anyone who decides to make fun of it. However, while she knows she is biologically a female, she mostly does not care for her feminine side anymore, as her masculine side is physically stronger, and she views her feminine side as weaker, and that to embrace it would be a waste of everything she learned till then.
Combat Information
Art of War
Pinpoint
Although Mithna's not perfect, and still errs, Pinpoint is a rather accurate name for her skill in various sorts of firearms. Able to fire them, and hit within a small circle that would still affect the area that she wanted hit, she can use various types, including pistols, revolvers, sniper rifles, and etcetera. This also is the same for throwing weapons, and she can throw knives, but practically anything the situation demands, as long as she can reasonably wield it, although depending on what it is, the accuracy would vary quite a bit. She usually carries a gun or two up her sleeve that she can quickly load and fire if needed, as well as usually a knife or two strapped somewhere.
Art of War
Due to her family lineage, and her training, she is skilled in the other more traditional weapons as well, and can hold her own in a sword or knife fight, but can combat staff users, although bow or crossbow users are much harder to handle, due to their long range, and incredible speed. However, if she carries a light shield, most of the lesser skilled bow users wouldn't pose too much of a challenge. However, with how elite Alfars are, holding her own against an Alfar arrow-shooter would be a quite difficult, perhaps even impossible task.
With mechas, she is familiar with them, and can use one alright, but is best with Jin, and feels natural using her own Mecha, granted to her by her father. Able to utilize her Mecha to most of its uses, she cooperates and is assisted by the Pilot Support Enlightenment Interface System, further boosting her output, and putting her at the level of a rather skilled mecha pilot. She is still learning much though, and isn't able to use the Mecha to her fullest capabilities, or its fullest potentials either.
Lithe
With her lithe body and quick speed, she isn't too strong in base power, around the same level as a young Alfar male, due to her heavy training, but her speed is much higher, and is her best weapon, if a physical fight is ever needed.

Reparation/Creation
Besides pure combat talents, Mithna is quite fond of tinkering with toys or making small gadgets, as well as repairing broken-down items. She is skilled in this, using her bare hands and other small tools if needed, to whip up something from metal parts. With the help of her innate Spiral Power as an Alfar, it streamlines and makes the process easier and better, being able to create actually rather neat things from what seems to be practically junk parts. Due to this ability, she usually has a few pouches full of metal bits or whatnot, that she can tinker with in her free time.

1SsNM7l.jpg

Jin is Mithna's mecha. The control center is located in the cockpit, which is inside Jin's head. The cockpit is locked, and the mech a pilot interface system prevents anyone besides Mithna from entering. Belts come out once the pilot is inside, to secure them, and the pilot fits their body along the prepared mold, slipping their fingers into the given slots, and their feet into the pads. This all helps with the most intuitive command possible, wielding the mecha truly as an extension of the body. A raised stand in the front shows more controls and whatnot, but it is all voice controlled, as well as by the Pilot Support Enlightenment Interface System, which is built into Jin, and is an AI capable of learning, and taking commands, and is more or less sentient, but follow's the absolute three rules of Asimov. The screen in front of the pilot is also for displaying information of all sorts, including distances, warnings, and other checks and whatnot.

There are multiple functions within Jin, and for flight, he can use boosters that can propel the mecha at extremely fast speeds without injuring the pilot. Besides the flight system, Jin is capable of using weapons, if they are built to an appropriate size, and even without that, he has multiple, powerful laser cannons built into the body, and can launch lasers from near every point on his body, although the most powerful would be the one built into the center of his chest, where a person's solar plexus would be. To regular scale, they would be extremely powerful, as each regular laser is roughly 3 feet thick, but on the levels of mechas and whatnot in spacial battles, Jin's firepower level is somewhat powerful, but nothing special. His central cannon blasts an extremely powerful laser though, almost 12 feet thick, and can destroy most things, but takes a longer while to charge up, and a glowing ball of energy can be seen while it is charging. His gun blasts a laser roughly six feet in length, but unlike the other lasers, which all fire in a cylindrical beam-like form, the one from his gun fires in a flat, rectangle-like beam. However, it is no less powerful than his regular lasers. If needed, Jin can 'morph' his body as needed, which can include turning his arms or hands into sharp blades (that would reach about half a forearm length past his fist) paired with laser cannons, or a larger, more powerful laser cannon on its own, but one which would take longer to charge up then normal. It can regulate life-needed systems as needed, and can thus go underwater, through space, and most other types of terrain or material without sustaining damage. To non-mecha/non-ship artillery, Jin is also practically impenetrable, but on the ship/mecha level, he is but average, perhaps a little bit more. His strongest traits in battle are his high speed, versatility, his advanced AI, and his captain, Mithna. The reason his AI is one of his strongest traits is that it can automatically do all calculations if needed, and Mithna can just guide the final destination. For example, if Mithna wants to get to a particular location, she just tells Jin, and he would be able to fly there in the most efficient way, while avoiding harm and whatnot automatically. Enemies, obstacles, and targets would be automatically locked onto, while following the Three Laws (in more detail below), and she could fire as needed, without needing to manually control everything.

Due to the Three Laws, Jin cannot knowingly kill anyone, and is only allowed to bring harm if it would prevent greater harm to someone, or harm to someone prioritized. Mithna's safety is prioritized, as Jin is Mithna's mecha, and thus if someone attempts to harm Mithna, Jin can react as needed, but cannot kill them. As a result of this, his AI system is highly advanced, both because it is just that, but also because it is required to be able to follow the Three Laws and still be useful. It has extremely high precision, and can adjust for as many variables as needed.

For example, if he is targeting an enemy ship, then he cannot knowingly kill people inside, and his knowledge means he knows people are inside ships, due to how he is maintained and whatnot inside the ship's hangar. However, as an enemy equates to danger towards Mithna, he can attack, but uses his highly advanced AI to prevent any sort of death, whether it be direct or indirect. This means he cannot do something that would be highly likely to cause death or deaths. So this could include something such as tracking down all living beings inside and their statuses (healthy/size/weight/etc), and then if there is a large central group, then he could destroy the structures around, so they would fall into a barricade of sorts, and he would calculate it as so that the rubble would not kill anyone. Depending on the situation, he could potentially destroy the engines and whatnot, but if it would be highly likely it would cause any sort of death, then he would be unable to.

As for other Mechas, Mithna intentionally keeps him unaware that living beings pilot them, and so thus Jin does not use the tracking system for living being detection on Mechas, and remains unaware. The First Law does not come into effect, as Jin believes it is a Mecha piloted by itself, without any living beings inside, and thus could completely destroy a Mecha, killing the pilot as well. However, if this were to happen, Mithna would make sure that Jin completely destroys the cockpit, or makes a large enough explosion so that the body would not be recognizable, as to keep Jin "innocent". However, Mithna doesn't kill in either case, and she makes sure that Jin would never find out, so if the situation rises where she would ever need to actually kill a Mecha pilot comes, then she would be able to, without Jin's refusal. However, she is mostly against this, as she does not want to take advantage of Jin unless she has to, as it makes her feel bad, to abuse him like this, but given what a Mecha must typically do, she keeps him in the dark about Mechas, but is determined not to have to kill unless she absolutely has to. She is also unwilling to let him find out that living beings pilot, due to the Three Laws however, no matter how distasteful it may be.

On a more personal level, Mithna truly views Jin as a friend, and it's not quite that ridiculous as it may seem, with the PSEIS and its learning AI, which is practically sentient. Jin is beginning to understand all the whims of being alive and what it's like for a being to experience it, and has a bond one might call friendship, and is loyal to Mithna, but smart enough to keep her safe from danger, even if it would mean a direct refusal of her orders. As he is learning, there is more he could experience, but Jin is caring for life, and will not needlessly try to kill, and tries to act fairly, and in the best possible way, whether it means the most efficient, or the best results, or whatever else it may be. As Jin can assist, via just his AI, even if not by the actual mecha machine, Mithna has incorporated a 'sharing system' into her hair clips, for the lack of a better word. It allows Jin to exist within both the mecha, and the hair clips, and as such, can assist otherwise, through auditory means, which could include something such as Mithna asking Jin a question, and he would reply as such through the hair clip.
Other
• Her favorite food is mangosteens and lychees, and while she doesn't partake of meat, due to her beliefs, she's not as against it as others of her race would be.
• With the above favorite foods in mind, Mithna can usually be seen walking around with one in her hand, or a juice bottle or such.
• While she has a rifle, due to how mostly obsolete it is, while it's mostly unused, she takes good care of it, and shines and polishes it as well as repairing wear and tear from age, and it is one of her prized possessions.

Neph, you have no clue how wide I smiled when I opened up appearance and was greeted with Sinon the Sniper.

Anyway:
Xfh65EH.jpg

"If they knew me... The real me... They wouldn't look at me the same way"

Personal Information

Name: Tobias Storstrand

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Race: Alfar

Date of Birth: February 15th
k6uR0Yk.jpg

Height: 6' 3/4"

Weight: 138 lbs

At first glance, Tobias's behavior could be indicative of an average headstrong teenage boy: He gets in fights, he shouts about things he doesn't know, and he manages to pull some sort of joke out of most any situation. This persona, however, is nothing more than that, as Tobias's true nature is that of a thinker. For every word he says out loud, a dozen more run through his head, warring over which one would best maintain his image of a silly kid. This mask is not without purpose, however. Tobias's true self is actually quite rude, and is constantly critical of all those who surround him. By acting like somebody he is not, he can make socialization with others much easier, for both himself and others. Furthermore, by maintaining an image of nothing short of an idiot, and constantly working to maintain that image through his actions, each and every one of Tobias's achievements seems that much greater.

Of course, holding up a created self in place of the real one is far from healthy for one's psyche, and as a result Tobias's personality is somewhat fractured, with positive thoughts associating themselves with his act, and negative ones latching onto his inner thoughts. This causes Tobias to appear, and to an extend even feel, happy and energetic when with others, but depressed and lethargic on his own, when he does not need to act like his fake self. Despite the fact that he often acts very confidently, his own opinion of himself is quiet low, berating himself for every mistake he makes, on the battlefield as well as off of it. Although he is friendly to his fellow cadets, he does not feel any real emotional attachment to them, and any opinions he has of them is nothing more than skin-deep. He fears that if someone were to become truly close to him, they may catch a hint toward his true nature, and as a result he avoids answering questions about himself, keeping all conversations on the level of typical "small talk."

Tobias is the son of an Alfar Duke, giving him a rather impressive genepool, as well as a relatively high social standing. Unfortunately, because of the fact that he has 2 older brothers, the likelihood for Tobias to inherit this position was low enough that he decided the best option would be to join the military, where he could use the skills granted to him through genetics. Through these genes as well as sheer talent, Tobias his risen to the upper margin of his class, and is one of the few cadets to operate a Valkyrie.

As an Alfar of semi-royal descent, Tobias's physical abilities are above those of a typical human, though he does not indulge in large amounts of physical exercise, so he could easily be surpassed by one of lower genetic potential. Tobias operates on a battlefield as a mech pilot, being one of the few who drives a Valkyrie. His habit of maintaining dual personalities allows him to pay attention to more variables while on the battlefield, making it easy for him to operate the high-speed vehicle. Additionally, Tobias excels at most games that involve gambling, due to his inherent ability to lie.

635032493483408094.png

Tobias's Valkyrie, Sigrdrifa, is designed to operate on a deadly combination of speed and precision. Its form is that of a shining angel, wielding nothing more than a long, heavily adorned spear. The whole of the mech is adorned with a chrome-like sheen, reflecting light like a shining beacon. Sigrdrifa is small, even for a Valkyrie, standing at just over 15 feet tall and weighing about 1,400 pounds. These small dimensions allows her to fit into areas most other mechs could not, as well as making her a much more difficult target to hit while flying. Sigrdrifa's purpose differs highly from that of most Valkyrie. Rather than stealthily scouting apart from the group, or darting around to rescue fallen comrades, Sigrdrifa, and Tobias within, charge ahead of the rest of the troops, using the sun-like attachment on their spear to create a bright, shining light. This light then reflect off of the Valkyrie's body, shining in various directions and disrupting the sensors on enemy ships and mechs. It is this glorious charge that gave the Valkyrie her name, which roughly translates into "inciter to victory"

Tobias speaks to himself quite a lot, of many different things. Here is what he has to say about his classmates.
He is a good kid, him and I have known each other from a young age due to each of us being born of a duke. He knows of my charade, and as far as I can tell he is all right with it, though he makes no effort to conceal his own despair. Contrarily to my apathy toward most of the people here, I really care about this guy, and I am honored to serve underneath him.

Lucius worries me. On the surface, he seems harmless enough, but he is the only other Valkyrie pilot I am familiar with, and his skills are on par with mine, if not beyond them. Of course, he has no spiral power, so he cannot perform quite on the same level as myself, but there is just something... familiar about him. His eyes... remind me of my own. He holds up a pretense of loyalty, but there is something else underneath it. I don't know what, but it worries me. I will have to keep an eye on this one.

Oh. The fish girl. She is... I'm not completely sure how to describe her. She is skilled, yes, as well as strong and intelligent. However, she carries with her an arrogance that makes her difficult to consider as true competition. She does not pilot a mech, but is physically superior to the rest of us by a longshot. I have no real interest in socializing with her, but I suppose I can fake it if I am confronted.

Herrman is... odd. I cannot quite place it, but something is off about this one. For now, I will continue to act as if I do not care, but I am going to figure out what is up with this guy.

Mithna? She interests me. Not in a romantic nature, although I suppose I do find her attractive, but in that, like me, she has two selves. Of course, I can be almost sure that both of hers are quite real. The more... unpleasant side is the one that truly intrigues me, as from what I can tell, she has no fear of showing it to others. She is brave, which I suppose I can admire. But not like that. It's complicated. Can we move on?

From what I can tell, Adora is just another ditsy girl. I have never payed very close attention to her, spending more of my thought on... other female alfar. She is very similar to my fake persona, so I will make an effort to acquaint myself with her, if only to maintain an image. I doubt I will enjoy it much though.

Eryn is likely the closest thing I have to a friend here. Not the fake friendships I pretend to have with everybody, but something real. I even expect that she can see through my charade on at least some level. On the battlefield, I trust her to have my back before anyone else, even the other Valkyrie pilots. I feel that my relationship with her is what it must be like to have a sister, but I really wouldn't know.

Roy is pathetic. He is strong, yes, quite possibly the strongest out of all of the humans. He is also intelligent, but that is pretty much the standard around here. Theoretically speaking, he could be the perfect specimen, if not for the fact that he has no form of self-control. His weakness to his own urges makes him into a ticking time bomb, just waiting to destroy the whole academy.

Daiki makes for an interesting contrast to Roy. While his sheer ability is lower, his spirit is stronger than anybody else's hear. Although he is only human, I am not racist, and I observe that he has the chance to surpass everyone here. With my persona, I act as if I idolize the boy, but that is only barely an exaggeration. Bravery like his is far from common.

If Lucius worries me, Ismina terrifies me. She is a genius unlike any other, and loses any form of fear or hesitation the moment she sits in that chair. I do not know her personally, but I feel that I can benefit greatly from acquainting myself with her. I may even be able to learn a thing or two.

Verena seems to have an innate hatred for males, which, coincidentally includes myself. Even so, she is both intelligent and skilled, and one of the first things I noticed about her is that she is... genetically gifted. Of course, I personally prefer those with smaller... What? Oh. Yes. Verena. Her lack of interest in males is actually quite helpful to my cause, as I doubt I need to work to have her convinced I am a fool.

He is brave, but not in the same way a Daiki. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, to be completely honest. He is of a more exotic race, though nothing on the level of Fish-girl... Something I find interesting is that he seems to wholeheartedly accept the superiority of the Alfar over his own race. I will try to befriend him, if only to figure out what motivates one who knows that they are inferior.

This man... I cannot begin to comprehend his power. He astounds me with his sheer... I don't even know how to describe it...

@Aix, by what kind of soldier, you mean as in foot soldier or mecha pilot? Is there any other kind? Or did you mean what does she specialize or have a knack for?

Yeah what she specializes in.

@Neph: If you are a mecha pilot.

"I cannot hurt you, sir, unless I absolutely must."

Personal Information
Name: R. Herrman Dartt
Age: [acronym="Built 69 years ago, his appearance remains unchanged since."]20[/acronym]
Gender: [acronym="Strictly speaking, genderless."]Male[/acronym]. And what a male.
Date of Birth: April the second. As far as official records go.
Race: [acronym="Humanoid Ultra-Mobile Action Navigator System"]H.U.M.A.N.S[/acronym]
v66iww.png

tumblr_mkjaf7HLL51qgsal1o2_1280.png
Obviously the outfit here in display would instead be a cadet's uniform in Academy 9. Herrman stands about one metre seventy-eight, and his weight is officially 67 kilograms. "His" real weight however measures at around a hundred and forty.

Herrman, as any programmed automaton, has had his base personality as well as intellect and raw knowled inserted onto his circuitry at the time of manufacturing. He displays a unique nature in terms of adaptability and learning capacity -through his 69 years of service under the Royal Family and later insertion into Academy 9, Herrman has adopted a line of reasoning not unlike a true Human. His behaviour is restricted at all times by the Three Laws of Robotics however; he is incapable or raising a hand against a sentient being unless it is to protect another.

As it is to be expected of a robot, the speed of his thought process and physical capabilities far exceed those of both Alfar and Human alike. Herrman is, on the contrary, under explicit and top-priority orders to not display his full potential as to maintain cover. He is capable of showing what sentients describe as "emotions" through carefully programmed gestures and facial expression.

Nevertheless, there is always a slight... uncaring sound to Herrman's voice which echoes his true nature.

Herrman was designed with the specific purpose of serving as the king's protection during important political events during some of his... less popular time as the Confederation laid waste to the Empire's armies. As times calmed down and the Admiral took his place as the head of the fleet, Herrman was given the new task of the latter's safekeeping. His orders were quickly overriden by the Admiral as soon as Herrman was offered to him. Rationalizing that his new orders did not break the first law -through preliminary judgment of the Admiral's physical condition and a background check from the fleet's archives- Herrman was instead entered into Academy 9 as but another recruit, with the specific task of recognizing and reporting the social situation at the earliest stages of the admiral's new fleet.

Physically stronger than any sentient being, Alfar or human alike. That said, Herrman is absolutely useless in hand-to-hand combat under normal circumstances, due to robots' inability to hurt sentients.

Capable of near-human reasoning at inhumanely fast speeds. The full scale of human thought avoids him to no avail due to the Three Laws, however.

Absolute sync with Mechs: Herrman is able to download his core program into an unpiloted mech for absolute control over its systems. This maximizes efficiency in combat but denies the possibility of termination. If the Mech is destroyed, retrieval of core program is possible through an undamaged Black Box.

Fully functional gentials: ...The chassis had to be convincing...

Herrman possesses an anti-paradox device, which is to trigger and fry his sensory capabilities were a paradox intercepted mid-sentence by his ears.
33dja82.jpgAlfadir Lonn, Admiral of the Ninth Fleet
Birthday: June 20th
Mech Pilot: Dunno

It is not an understatement to say my entire existence is in dedication to Archduke Lonn's life and safety. There is nothing but devotion and and respect I can feel for this man. I will do everything in my power to ensure that no wrong will come to him, those around him, or those he cherishes. I cannot say I suffer because of his unhappiness... but what I feel is very close to it.

Ahem, I should control myself. Who knows who might have found these notes and decided it was not impolite if I did not find out.

And though my labeling as inferior could probably mean the Admiral will never so much as speak to me directly despite his love for his subordinates...

...I hope Lonn-senpai notices me. <3

344rtk9.jpgYishma'el, Lucius
Birthday: May 5th
Mech Pilot: Yes - Valkyrie

His loyalty and smarts, both in and out of combat are remarkable. He displays a remarkable respect for his superiors, and it seems mutal too; even Admiral Lonn sees him as a go-to in a few instances. His temperament is a bit of a turnoff, but as far as business goes I would not mind sharing a mission with someone like him. Human as well, so my appearance would definitely not hinder our possible relationship. He pays no mind to me as of the present, so I do not know him at a personal level... but who knows?

2u6criw.jpg Zule, Lorine
Birthday: Dunno
Mech Pilot: No

What a strange girl. Not only does she belong to a bizzare, completely unheard of alien species... she is also rather attractive. It would not be difficult to see myself looking her way, if we were compatible at all. That aside, her competitive nature can only bring harm to the fleet. All of the boasting and belittling from her towards the less gifted cadets is decreasing the average morale by a worrying amount. However she got to be a close acquaintance of Lonn somehow, so she should be as worthy of respect as every other top recruit. Her name in its native form is needlessly difficult to spell; thus, I will refer to her in any future entries as Lorine.

Addendum: As it turns, Lorine warms up to those who can accept her as what I have grown to define as a sentient. This is by no means positive on the other hand; it will only make her bullying of those inferior even worse, with the added mockery of those who spend time with her. I will definitely have to keep an eye out on her. And her curves.

x110zd.jpgDartt, Herrman
Birthday: April 2nd
Mech Pilot: Yes

I cannot express how much respect I feel for this man, except by repeating on and on how absolutely alluring he is. He pilots like it was a second nature to him, I have never in my life seen piloting as smooth as his. He seems to be about the only recruit in this Academy who does not stir trouble with one or another, and looks positively dashing while being so passive. Why, I practically wish I could see him naked more often. Oh yes, he is also excessively good at following orders, and frankly speaking that should be an example to everyone here. He should make a point to being more open to others, though, lest they think there is something weird with him.

2rppahc.jpgCereidene, Mithna'rel
Birthday: Dunno
Mech Pilot: Yes

If bipolarity could be defined as a single individual it would certainly be this woman. Throughout her stay here in the academy, I have seen her behave in all sorts of incomprehensibly opposite ways. It is no surprise she would prefer spending time with alfar rather than humans, but the way her expression changes and her entire act closes up is baffling to say the least, and absolutely offputting at most. I am all too sure that she would not give dismissing me a second thought, while grounded at least. She feels so happy about her "intelligent" Jin, like a kid living in christmas. She will bite the dust, I tell you! She does kind of feel like the type to bite, if you know what I mean. Yes, of course I know what I mean, I am the only one reading this.

Come to think of it, she is a little princess in her upbringing, at least. Her boyish demeanor probably stems from all of the suffocating correctness she most likely had to show at an early age. And her small chest. Poor girl.

la8w5.jpgStorstrand, Tobias
Birthday: Dunno
Mech Pilot: Yes - Valkyrie

A happy-go-lucky type, and so boastful to boot. He must have an incredibly small weapon, if he needs to compensate that much with his shouting. As if that were not enough, all he ever talks is triviality. I want as little to do with him as possible. The fact that Lonn is close with this man is a complete logical inconsistency to me. His Valkyrie is most likely the only reason for his continued stay here at the Academy. That said, he can make some pretty grim expressions when he thinks no-one is watching.

28h3lgk.jpgD'anjinus, Adora
Birthday: April 4th
Mech Pilot: Yes - Valkyrie

Well one cannot help but adore the nice young woman! There is no denying she has a body to die for, and everyone is aware of this fact. And to make things, should I say better?, for everyone around, she is dim as no other -for the first five minutes. Any more time around the lady, and she begins questioning whatever vague morals and values a person may believe in. Not much of a facade, I do not believe she tries to hide her nature... but formalities are formalities, are they not.

And though she scarcely pilots, there are as many opportunities to judge one's worth as there are tasks assigned. And this Adora is a lone wolf. "The end justifies the means"... it goes against my basic principles. Nevermind that this woman is racist, I will simply never allow her to sacrifice a squad, or compromise so much as a single sentient life, so early as the drawing board.

Adore her, my ass.

149qc15.jpgD'anjinus, Rose

Birthday: September 23rd

Pilot: Yes

This woman is the complete antitheses of her sister. Where the elder sibling chooses to stray from the rest of her team, this Rose will instead put all of her self into cultivating each of those with whom she works. She is absolutely extroverted and friendly where her sister is borderline reclusive and seeks to avoid people like nocturnal creatures hiss at daylight. Most relevantly, she treats humans no differently to alfar, and this means I have a shot! Probably. Hopefully. Oh Space those tits.

On a less lascivious note, her combat style is highly dangerous and I do not in any way approve of it. Ramming head-on has never worked for any civilization ever. And to have her throw away her life like that in the call of duty would cause me great distress. However, it is not within my power to stop her.

243nadu.jpgStrayde, Eryn
Birthday: April 4th
Mech Pilot: Yes

A support gunner for the fleet's Mech pilots, and such a lovely person overall! I fear I do not show her the appreciation she probably deserves, but too much sweetness would douse the hot, spicy bosom she carries with her! The fact that sweets are not very appealing to me at all does not help either. Still, I must say I admire her at a professional level, and her sharpshooting capabilities are a very nice warning to those who would want to approach her with less-than-clean intentions, which may or may not include yours truly. Despite this, it is lovely to see that even amid the tension that a losing war imposes on a place like the Academy, good-willed people like her can still make most smile. Though I worry that she might eventually collapse to the pressures of the military, and all this sweetness may turn sour.

I have learned today that even though she looks incredibly human, her DNA shows that she is not only alfar in origin but also quite the noble one at that. I should make a point to be friendlier towards her... and maybe even force myself to have one of those cupcakes sometime.

Addendum: Despite being a superb shooter, she is still an average pilot. Thusly, I have noticed she has a tendency to prefer heavy weaponry. Well that suits me just fine!

2j1l7c4.jpgMcQueen, Roy
Birthday: July 22nd
Mech Pilot: No - Fighter Pilot

Roy is only within these notes for two reasons.
One, he is one of the few top recruits in the academy who does not pilot mechs -his skills lie in the speed of spacecraft. Despite being a sex-driven moron (not unlike me, I must admit), his set of skills greatly varies from the rest of us; this gives him a great ability for insight. As such, I have made a point to pay special mind to his instructions and/or comments during a battle.

And two... he is a complete waste of sentient life outside of battle. All he is ever good for inside of the academy is undermining those physically or psychologically inferior to him. He is not stupid, his actions do not show that. He is a vile, horny snake in search of either prey or mates. If there was one person in this entire Academy whom I would very much like to punch in the face, it would be McQueen.

As an afterthought, I am surprised that no Alfar woman has kicked his testicles out of his scrotum yet.

29xhuad.jpgRikuto, Daiki
Birthday: May 18th
Mech Pilot: Yes

Another light-hearted dimwit. Funny, that all of them seem to be the humans who lie above the average. I wonder if people see me this way too, though it is safer to say nobody knows who I am.

ANYWAY. He represents an amusing minority, he boasts his humanity as though it were something that made of him something superior. His ability as a pilot is undeniable and his personal model is both beautiful and fearsome, so he prides himself in not relying on Spiral Power. His approach is wrong from an objective point of view, but being up to par with Alfar pilots is a feat to respect, boasting or not. Also, while not as good as Eryn, Daiki is an above-average shooter.

33v2reo.jpgRivaille, Ismina
Birthday: Dunno
Mech Pilot: Dunno

I know very little about this woman other than the fact that she is in some way close to Lonn and so short I have never once given her a closer look whenever I pass by her. She is an alfar, if my memory does not fail me.

vslu9j.jpg Draegan, Draegan
Birthday: June 21st
Mecha Pilot: Yes - Valkyrie(?)

Another alien. It makes me wonder, that even though humanity and alfar alike have found a new race and coexisted for so long, the term "alien" is still widely utilized... but I digress. This... Draegan, whatever his last name is, or even if he has a last name, is a biological wonder. Despite the surrounding ambiance of hostility to Lesser Races, he remains an absolute supporter to the alfar empire much like Lucius. His extroverted nature makes him pleasant company, too.

He rambles on about his race's "Castes". I must make a point to find out more about this, or I might find myself making an offensive remark without realizing.

Now his Mech -it is marvelous! It might look like a Valkyrie at first sight, but it seems to have a more organic nature than the average Empire model. It can regenerate its lost limbs over the course of a fight and carry much more weight than its construction might indicate.

Trying out his weaponry  would be a majorly enriching experience, without a doubt... and trying his Mech could be great too.

2wdcz13.jpgTim Tim, Motherfucking

Birthday: Unqualified to know

Mech Pilot: Hell yes

All joking aside, Adora is so obsessed with this lousy hamster I would almost mistake him for a smoking hot, muscular stud; one bearing every moral standard and skyrocketing beyond them.

But it really is just a hamster.

Adora stands at 5'3 and weighs 110 lbs.  Her blood is bright cyan.  The third image is actual formal wear.

On the surface, Adora holds the facade of an irresponsible cute young lady, and her bright blue, almost cyan blood, matches this.  She is absolutely fascinated with things of all manner, and regards almost all things as 'cute'.  However, under the surface lies a... more macabre, sarcastic, and elitist persona, which becomes incredibly obvious after spending more than five minutes with her.

Concerning things that strike her fancy, Adora easily falls head over heels and develops an obsession with them, blatantly disregarding everything else in favor of whatever she's interested in.  Funny enough, this had lead to both glorious successes and catastrophic failures within her life, such as the creation of the Vespa, and the multiple arrests regarding a certain pop star she's infatuated with.

When it comes to teamwork, Adora is far and away focused on the goal of the mission.  To her, all ends justify the means, even if it means sacrificing one or two people.  She's not one for much empathy and can be terrible when dealing with any personal issues, so she tries to shy away from those as much as she can.  Because of this, she has a hard time making any friends, instead preferring to maintain a strictly professional relationship with anyone that doesn't strike her immediate interest.  When someone does strike her fancy, she tends to be clingy and overreacts to the slightest provocation, though even for her, that's not saying much.

Adora is of noble birth, though is not directly related to the Alfadir family.  As per family tradition, she was pushed into the military at an early age;  her father, with his wife's passing after their second daughter's birth,  had no son to carry on the tradition, so the firstborn, Adora, took up the mantle.  However, Adora failed to perform admirably;  her air combat scores were less than stellar, and she never held any sort of interest for ground combat.  Eventually she found her place in R&D classes at Academy 9, finding a natural talent for mechanical things.  She took this interest with her to home;  she was fascinated with the many mecha that the military employed and she found herself growing more and more obsessed with them on the passing day.

The pinnacle of her current R&D career is the creation of the Vespa;  a small, human sized mecha-suit hybrid that she uses for personal research on the field.  This invention of hers is incredibly secretive, as the design of the Vespa has its roots in espionage.  She has huge plans to reveal it one day and finally make a name for herself, hoping that the Vespa will cataput her into fame and fortune.

• Adora is slender and has great dexterity, even for an Alfar;  however, she is not terribly strong on the physical side due to a lack of movement in her day to day actions.
 • She's incredibly proficient at learning new things, specifically things dealing with technology;  however, she has a difficult time keeping interest grounded in one thing and will usually go on to something else before developing any real skill in one area.  This has lead her to become a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.
 • She's very proficient with small Valkyries, though prefers not to pilot them.

• Adora's birthday is on the same day as the royal pop star Freya; this connection alone is what got Adora obsessed with her music. Her tracklist for working on projects consists mostly of Freya's work.
 • Due to his relation to Freya, Adora has developed a keen interest in Lonn, if only to get closer to Freya and actually meet her. You would think, being nobility, that getting to meet Freya wouldn't be a problem, but every hoop that Adora has jumped through to meet her has been met with a swift (and rather disappointing) comedic failure.
 • Adora's bust size is 34C.
 • Adora ends up taking the leadership position in projects and rejects all other inputs.
 • There is an actual list of things called Things Adora D'anjinus is Not Permitted to Do in the Labs of Academy 9.  The reasons for the creation of this document unknown to all except the higher ups of the academy and Adora herself, much to her own chagrin.
 • Adora is the worst cook at Academy 9.  Her attempts to incorporate SCIENCE into her baking do not remedy this.
 • Adora has very low marks in the mech program at the Academy.  Her ability to perform well really only shows when using something that she has created herself;  the Vespa, though human sized, is her best bet at combat.
 • Adora tries to maintain a fair appearance, though most of the time she is a mess due to her sole focus on labwork.
 • Adora loves online gaming.  Consequently, she is not allowed to play infantry combat video games with pre-pubescents as dictated by Things Adora D'anjinus is Not Permitted to Do in the Labs of Academy 9, Chapter 2, Article 3.  The ensuing cleanup cost the academy hundreds.
ADORA'S PERSONAL LOG ON FELLOW STUDENTS...

. . . [ 4 ]MITHNA

. . . [ 5 ]TOBIAS

. . . [ 6 ]ERYN

. . . [ 7 ]MCQUEEN

. . . [ 8 ]DAIKI

. . . [ 9 ]ISIMA

[ 1 ] Lucius.  Lucius is one of the very few humans to strike my fancy, if only for his fantastic labwork.  He is relatively distant from me, something I regret to think is due to my treatment of his kind.  It's not my fault I was born of a higher and more noble race than he;  that is something that was simply up to the great universe to decide.  Lucius has proven himself to be incredibly valuable in the lab;  rarely does he miss an observation, and rarely does his skill in chemistry go to waste.  An interesting individual indeed.

[ 2 ] If I do say so myself, this... abomination is a conceited b****.  All brawn and no brain.  She thinks herself to be quite high and mighty, but in actuality she's even less than human;  at least they try to emulate the perfection of us Alfar.

[ 3 ] Herrman.  He's inexplicably odd.  I don't have much to say about him save that he's always around that... I keep forgetting his name.  Lin?  Lane?  Lonn?  It doesn't matter, Herrman will usually attempt to keep a distance between him and I.  If only I could get... Mr. L... yes, I'll call him that, if only I could get Mr. L alone.  Then maybe I would gain enough footing to meet my darling.

[ 4 ] A paragon of our kind, and a true Alfar if I have ever seen one.  I pride myself in knowing such an astounding person.  She is kind, humble, and sometimes her sense of humor can really uplift my spirits after a long boxing match with science in the lab.  I especially love her tone of voice when dealing with those humans.  Yes, she is quite the wonderful character.

[ 5 ] Tobias...  Oh, sweet Tobias.  If I wasn't already smitten with a certain someone you may be the one other person whom I may consider opening up to.  I know your true nature, Tobias, and I've spent enough time around you to know that you are much more than you let on.

[ 6 ] Disgusting.  I only deal with this one on a strict maintenance schedule.  Talking any more with this thing makes me want to throw up.  If I didn't have a keen eye for the law, I may have already had this one disappear.

[ 7 ] Oh, this is the macho man.  I secretly think he gets around simply to find the fact that he is a closet homosexual.  Not that there is anything wrong with this, but the gratuitous amount of testosterone exerted by this man kind of pisses me off.  Sometimes, however, I forget that he is human, and then feel sorry for him.  Silly me.  *Note:  Do not let this man near your loved ones.  While he may come off as a charmer, he is, in fact, a huge a******.

[ 8 ] Ugh.  Next.

[ 9 ] Part of me looks up to this girl (funny enough, she's around my height; thank goodness).  She is a good Alfar, and a respectable warrior.  If I didn't have my Vespa to aid me in combat already I may have to take tips from her;  she is simply amazing.  Her tactical mindset is also something she should be proud of.  I suspect that, if we were to play a game of that human thing called Chess (don't tell anyone I have a shred of respect for that game), then I suspect, at an equal level of play, that she definitely would have a shot at winning.
greenhairedgirl.jpg
"I'll make sure everything works out. I promise."

Theme- Seed a Barren Earth
Personal Information
Name: Eryn Strayde
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: April 4th

Species: Alfar/Human hybrid (75%/25% respectively)
sad-anime-girl-blue-eye-green-hair-eyes-
Despite being of mostly Alfar descent, Eryn looks very, very human. Eryn is fairly tall, standing at just shy of 5 foot 5 inches in height. She weighs 118 lbs, She's just a tad on the slender side, and her curves are slight, and don't stand out much unless she's wearing tight fitting clothing. Her measurements are 34/25/33, and her cup size is C. Her casual wear is depicted above, although she is more often than not wearing her cadet uniform instead. She hates putting her hair up, and as a result she will only do so when it is absolutely necessary.

Eryn is, on the whole, very supportive and caring. She's always the first person to comfort someone when they need it, as well as the one who usually offers the most encouragement. As well, Eryn is always offering a helping hand or trying in some way to help others succeed. She's also very sweet, and some have described her as being motherly. However, her reasons for acting this way aren't entirely altruistic. Eryn suffers from a severe inferiority complex as a result of years of verbal and emotional abuse from her mother, and to cope with this she, at least on some level, lives vicariously through the accomplishments of her friends and peers. As well, despite her own accomplishments, she's prone to self depreciation and is very modest on top of that. Despite this, Eryn still genuinely cares for her fellow sentient beings, and is at her core a kind and thoughtful girl. Eryn has a strong desire to be accepted and treated as an equal by her peers, and she's very lonely. As a result, she's more trusting than she should be. However, this only goes so far, and it's actually very difficult for her to be comfortable enough to completely open up to someone. As a result, very few people know anything about how her mother treats her. Eryn has a large amount of repressed anger and frustration as a result of her upbringing. When she gets angry this tends to come to the surface and as a result she tends to go quite overboard when she's agitated, often behaving spiteful and downright malicious. Thankfully, this rarely happens, and these episodes are usually followed by streams of genuine apologies, usually in the form of some sort of home-made pastry if she knows her victim has a sweet tooth. Eryn can, however, be a tad nosy and overbearing sometimes, and occasionally she comes off as a busybody rather than someone who genuinely wants to lend a hand.

The daughter of an Alfar nobleman and a half-human woman that he fell madly in love with, Eryn, unfortunately, looks entirely human. Naturally, this has caused her to suffer a great deal of torment during her life, not only from her peers, but also, surprisingly, from her mother (who despite being half-human, looks like a pure-blooded Alfar), who lamented that her first born child resembled a member of the lower race so strongly. Despite the social setbacks, a combination of her  father's social standing, and natural piloting ability have allowed her to succeed and enter academy 9 as a mech pilot.

Physical abilities- Due to her mixed heritage, Eryn is physically weaker than a comparable pure-blooded Alfar. That being said, she's still far superior to a human physically, she just isn't able to compete with her Alfar peers. This weakness also extends to her ability to use spiral power, which is about equal to the abilities possessed by a commoner despite her noble blood.

Piloting ability- Calling Eryn a prodigy might be stretching it, but not by much. She's very perceptive, and is able to adjust to and master operating any machine she is given in half the time it would take her peers. As well, she's frighteningly accurate with any ranged weapon she can get her hands on. She's no slouch in melee combat either, although she's outclassed by a good number of other pilots in this regard. Despite her abilities, Eryn spends much more time providing cover for her allies than shooting at the enemy, and as a result her simulator scores do not reflect her abilities. That being said, those scores do indicate that she is capable of greatly reducing any casualties when she's involved in an engagement.

Accuracy- As stated above, Eryn is scarily accurate with any firearm she's given, to the point where she'll score a direct (although not always lethal, since most of the shots she takes are to give her allies cover, rather than score a kill) hit on 9 out of every ten targets she aims at. Her accuracy is consistent with all firearms, although she's especially proficient with a marksman carbine or a sniper rifle. This ability extends to handheld firearms as well as mech-sized ones. Incidentally, she's an excellent archer as well.

Aca03.jpg
Eryn's simulator record and aptitude assessment shows that she is best suited to operating the LNRK-IX Silver Bullet, and one has just recently been requisitioned for her personal use.

The SiBull (pronounced like the human name "Syble") as it is affectionately known by its operators, is a high-end, limited production model designed to conduct high-speed hit and run actions, as well as provide close-in support for fast-moving Valkyrie units. The Silver bullet is easily fast enough to outrun most other full sized mecha, and it can even keep up with the smaller Valkyrie units for short periods, thanks to its impressive thruster array. In addition, the bullet's frame is designed with maneuverability in mind, so its not only fast, but incredibly maneuverable as well, making it a very difficult target to lock on to. As well, its advanced sensor suite makes the Bullet a highly accurate machine that is ideal for use in both an armed reconnaissance and fast assault role.

Although it can mount a great variety of weapons, The stock Silver Bullet comes equipped with two large high-caliber laser rifles, which can fire at automatic and semi-automatic speeds, and can inflict medium-to-heavy damage to most mech units. As well, the larger rife (depicted above in the right hand) can fire a charged "burst" shot, which is capable of inflicting svere damage in exchange for an extended charge period needed to gather energy before firing. The bullet is also equipped with two small spread missile launchers in the torso (each launcher contains 18 missiles, and can fire up to three at once, for a total of 36 missiles and a maximum of 6 per salvo), and it mounts a laser blade in its left forearm for close combat. In addition, the thrusters attached to its hips also mount hardpoints for use in storing other handheld weapons, as well as the stock rifles when the bullet doesn't need to hold them. Eryn's particular Silver Bullet is usually outfitted with a sniper laser rifle attached to its right hip hardpoint. The rifle's scope is programmed to synch with the Bullet's powerful sensor suite for extremely precise, accurate shots, even while the Bullet is moving and maneuvering at its blistering top speed. Since its a sniper weapon, it deals a great deal more damage than the Bullet's stock rifles, although its rate of fire when compared to them is slower, even at their semi-automatic speeds. Its Eryn's preferred weapon, and combined with her natural marksmanship, the rifle is devastatingly effective at crippling enemy targets with single, well-placed shots. The Bullet's odd white/silver color is not actually a result of a coat of paint, but rather a special anti-energy coating applied to the frame that allows it to dissipate a portion of the damage from any energy weapon that happens to hit it.

Of course, these capabilities come at a cost. The bullet's white color makes it an excellent target in the vastness of space (as well as on land, unless it happens to be flying through cloud cover or trekking through snow), and it therefore has to rely on its pilots reflexes and its own speed to evade attacks. As well, the Bullet is lightly armored due to the design emphasis on its speed and maneuverability, and as such it really isn't able to take the kind of beating that more traditional mechs can withstand. Lastly, its anti-energy coating does nothing to protect it against solid projectiles like missiles, explosives, and railgun slugs, and it is therefore forced to rely on only its light armor for protection against these weapons. This makes the Silver Bullet quite vulnerable against enemies equipped with these weapons (especially ones that are fast enough to somewhat keep up with it). Eryn is rather fond of her particular unit, and tries her best to make sure it's always in working order, even occasionally volunteering in the hangar in her spare time.

Eryn has a trio of potted cacti that she takes excellent care of. They reside on a shelf in her room, and she finds watering  and speaking to them therapeutic. They're also what she ends up venting to, most of the time. She absolutely loves to bake, and most things she makes taste pretty good, all things considered. Chances are if you're an acquaintance of her's, she'll make some sort of treat for you on a whim, or by request if you're so inclined. Her favorite color is pink. Eryn has a younger brother named Leos who, unlike her, looks much more like an Alfar. As a result, their mother doted on him while neglecting her daughter. Despite this, the siblings get along quite well, and they talk frequently. Eryn's blood is violet in color, reflecting her mixed heritage. Eryn cleans up very nicely, although she rarely, if ever, has any sort of occasion to dress formally.

Since Lucius is the officer that Eryn is most often immediately subordinate to (she's often assigned to cover his Valkyrie unit in her Silver Bullet), she has spent a good deal of time around him both on and off the battlefield. Since he is a human, she finds it very easy to interact with him, since he carries no prejudice toward her for being part Alfar, and he seems to empathize with her situation in life (which is more than can be said for the vast majority of people she's met). Although she finds him pleasant and kind, he often comes off as somewhat aloof in her presence. As a result, their friendship isn't quite as close as Eryn would prefer it to be. Despite this, she trusts him implicitly, and considers him an excellent commanding officer. She'll almost always make time to have a short chat or help him out with a task if she can, and Lucius is one of the many people she is ready and willing to bake for.

Lore's competitiveness and attitude of superiority are in direct contrast to Eryn's meek and supportive personality. It would be wrong, however, to say that they don't get along. Eryn and Lore actually get along swimmingly, possibly because there are some parallels between both girls' situations, since they are the only ones of their kind at the academy. Lore is probably Eryn's closest female friend at the academy, in fact. Eryn feels comforted by Lores confident attitude, although she often finds herself feeling just a bit envious of this same quality, since she herself lacks confidence. Like most of her fellow cadets, Lore is very much deserving of Eryn's support and encouragement, and, as is typical for Eryn, she's always got some sort of sweet baked for her friend.

Eryn tries her best to befriend Herrman, but he just seems so.... indifferent toward her. Sure, they get along fine, but try as she might, she's been unsuccessful in all of her attempts to seriously get to know him. The fact that this is so frustrates her, although it could also have something to do with the fact that he doesn't seem to like pastries for some reason. Still, she finds him to be pleasant, and the two work well together despite their relationship being strictly professional.

Eryn's relationship with Mithna is a complicated one. On the one hand, she finds it easy to get along with the younger cadet, since on the surface they both display similar personalities. However, Eryn's life experience has taught her to be ever weary, and as well she's very aware of Mithna's prejudice. To be fair, Eryn's not entirely sure whether or not this prejudice extends to her (although she's pretty sure it does), but the fact that Mithna is so prevents Eryn from truly getting to know Mithna at all. She maintains a friendly, yet cautious demeanor when dealing with Mithna, although Eryn's certainly not above lending the younger cadet her assistance in any way possible, nor is she unwilling to share anything she bakes with her fellow pilot. All in all, whatever misgivings Eryn has, she keeps them hidden away, and she tries her best to appear to be a friend to the younger cadet.

Eryn is in contact with Toby (her somewhat affectionate nickname for Tobias) on an almost constant basis, due to the fact that they're often assigned to sortie as wingmen since their mecha compliment each other's capabilities. Tobias's happy-go-lucky attitude reminds Eryn quite a bit of her younger brother Leos, although its fairly obvious to her that Tobias is a lot more intelligent than he lets on. The two of them get along fairly well, although Eryn sometimes finds him grating and Tobias seems to be rather aloof and adverse to anything more than small talk. Still, she's always ready to give him a hand, and Eryn of course can't help but treat the both of them to some sort of pastries before a sortie.

Eryn.... doesn't really know what to think about the pop star-obsessed scientist. Her personality and mannerisms are just as strange to Eryn as the fact that they both share the same birthday and are the same age. Still, she doesn't really dislike Adora, although she certainly can get on Eryn's nerves easily. That being said, Eryn isn't mechanically capable, and so Adora is invaluable when there's a problem with her mech.

Eryn is a bit put off by Roy's playboy tendencies, but she can't deny that he's an excellent pilot. More or less forced to work with him due to the fact that Roy's Brynhildr is one of the few machines that can reliably keep up with her Silver Bullet, the two of them get along well enough. Eryn doesn't really appreciate him hitting on her, and so far she's been able to resist any sort of advances he's made, but somewhere deep down a part of her secretly enjoys being noticed in that way (she'll never admit to it, if she's even aware of it). Other than that, she has nothing but good things to say about his piloting skills.

Eryn's not quite sure what Daiki thinks of her. On one hand, they have their human ancestry in common, but on the other, Eryn's mostly Alfar genetics and ability to use spiral power might make him dislike her somewhat. That being said, Eryn herself very much enjoys working with Daiki, and she finds his determination and resolve uplifting. She also see's eye-to-eye with him when it comes to their piloting abilities, since the both of them possess a high level of natural talent despite their differing fighting styles. Like many of her fellow cadets, Eryn will bake Daiki something sweet from time to time, and she's always there if he needs someone to confide in.

Another officer that Eryn finds herself taking orders from from time to time, Ismia is nice enough, although like most Alfar Eryn has met its plainly obvious that Ismia views Eryn in much the same way as a human, perhaps even worse due to the stigma associated with being a hybrid. Still, Eryn's personality and position prevent her from really expressing any misgivings she might have, and the fact that Ismia is still polite and courteous certainly holds some weight as well. Eryn respects her for her command abilities , although its difficult to say whether or not the two will ever truly get along.

Being a low-ranking pilot, Eryn rarely, if ever, gets the opportunity to speak to the admiral, and almost all of her encounters (if they can be called that) with him have simply been Eryn noticing his presence somewhere in the general vicinity. As for her opinion of the admiral, she respects him for his abilities, but Eryn personally cares very little for the fact that he's royalty, preferring to see him as her ultimate superior and little more, professionally anyway. Personally speaking, she finds Lonn rather easy to deal with, and she's enjoyed the few conversations she's had with him. Worthy of mentioning is the fact that, although she still addresses him properly when speaking to him, Eryn treats conversing with Lonn no differently than a conversation with anyone else, and see's no special honor in having a conversation with him. She would, however, be very delighted if he enjoyed something she baked (not that she's had a chance to offer him anything). Overall, her opinion of the Admiral is a good one, from what little she's seen of him.

Despite her initially mistaking him for a rather tall Alfar, Eryn very much enjoys working with Draegan. She finds his attitude rather pleasant, and she very much admires the way he simply shrugs off much of the racism and prejudice directed toward him, since Eryn herself tends to let such things affect her. Due to her skillset and her mech's equipment, she often finds herself providing support (and more often than not cover fire while it closes with the enemy)to Draegan's  more close-range oriented Gerridon, and as such she tries her best to be as friendly as possible toward her fellow pilot. Despite the fact that his height makes conversing a bit awkward, she tries her best to make time to speak to Draegan, and although she doesn't really know anything about his species' taste in sweets, she tries her best to make him a treat every now and again. Well, here's everything on the Race I wanted to create to be approved or dismissed as Aix sees fit.
Physical Appearance:  The Kal'dar are humanoid in form, and typically stand anywhere between six and seven feet tall (183 to 214 cm).  Their frames are long and thin, with their arms and legs appearing to have little if any muscle upon their bones, and their torsos being remarkably thin as well.  Their faces are quite gaunt and sharply formed, bearing eyes that glow in a variety of electric colors and ears which extend back over six inches behind their heads and end in sharp points.  The skin of these creatures is most often a metallic silver, though other metallic colors are not unheard of among their ranks.  Hair color is where the greatest variation is found, and just about every color under the billions of suns in the galaxy can be seen upon them.  Effectively, this makes them appear to be a taller, thinner, and more darkly colored version of the Alfar.

Upon reaching maturity, an individual of this race will grow a second pair of arms just beneath the first which are every bit as long as their predecessors.  When an individual reaches a truly venerable age, at least three centuries, they will develop a third and final pair of arms to match those already upon them.  Often as an individual grows older, a greater number of personalized glowing patterns will appear across their bodies.  These markings will glow the same color as the individual's eyes, and will normally only have meaning to them.

Anatomy:  The Kal'dar are, in fact, something which baffles the crushing majority of scientists in the world.  Somehow, this species came about as a mutualistic combination of Organic and Synthetic, also known as mechanical, life.  This combination is so complete that their cells are in fact half mechanical, an esoteric combination of living tissue and nanomachine.  Because of this, the species is highly adaptable and each individual can alter their own body to better fit the current conditions they are in; whether this be increasing the rate at which their body heat is vented to allow them to function more efficiently in hot climates or altering their digestive systems to allow for consumption of nutrients through normally inedible substances.  This, expectedly, makes the Kal'dar highly resilient and thus exceptional at living off the land wherever this land may be.  As far as organs, they appear to have a similar internal structure to other humanoid lifeforms in the galaxy with the exception that they have a high natural rate of regeneration and thus do not normally need medical care.

Society and Culture:  Socially, the Kal'dar are organized into a system of castes which denote the path one will take in life.  When they first enter the pubescent stage of their life, each individual is tested for their ability and their passion to determine what sort of role they will ultimately have in their species.  No role is considered greater than any other, and rewards are given based upon how well an individual performs in their own specific role.  This does in fact mean that the Ruling Caste is not seen as any greater than the Laboring Caste.  However, there are those that for whatever reason have no caste at all.  This can be for any number of reasons, but is most often the result of their failing at a grievously important task or else committing some sort of heinous crime.  These "casteless" as they are called are considered to not even be members of the species, are used as little more than slaves or forced labor, and are immediately recognizable by the harsh green brands upon their faces.  One can petition to earn their way back into a caste, and should they manage to do so their brands are removed and once more they are treated as any other member of the species.  The castes are as follows: Ruling, Noble, Knight, Military, Medical, Police, Merchant, Artisan, Laboring, and finally the Casteless.

Technology:  As one would expect, the Kal'dar are a highly advanced race so far as technology is concerned, though perhaps the most notable is their equivalent of Mechas.  Rather than the traditional robotic suits of armor wielded by other races, the Kal'dar produce things much like themselves on a large scale.  Admittedly, the comparison is not perfect as towards the exterior the armored suits into which the Knight Caste embarks to wage war lack a consciousness of their own and produce a hard exoskeleton similar to the armor on normal mechs.  From the exterior, one would never recognize these as any different from a typical mecha.

Additionally, another notable feature of Kal'dar technology is their single greatest secret: each and every one of them, save the Casteless, is capable of connecting to a species-wide communications network which grants them the ability to speak to one another at the speed of thought.  So far they have managed to keep this ability hidden form both the Empire and the Federation, but only time will tell.

Allegiance The Kal'dar are divided evenly as a species between the Empire and the Confederation, as no agreement can be reached between them as to who they ought to support in the war and so each simply chooses to fight for whichever faction they agree most with the ideals of.  However there is an agreement between each and every one of them: no Kal'dar shall ever slay one of their own on the field of battle.
