Duel monsters. Ever since its inception, the game has been insanely popular.  However, unbeknownst to most people, the game is inherently magical in nature. All of the monsters, traps, and spells are based on real, flesh-and-blood, counterparts that exist in an alternate reality known as the spirit world. Occasionally throughout history, various individuals and factions have brought some of these forces into our world, be it for good or evil, via ancient dark magic that, due to its mystical origins, duel monsters is compatible with. However, these conflicts have long since faded into history…

30 years ago that all changed. In the center of a great city, during the final game of the Duel Monsters world championship, a monster spirit of unfathomable size manifested in the skies over the arena. It only existed in this world for less than a minute, and at that only its head and neck, but its sheer size (easily eclipsing the entire continent) and the raw energy venting off of it was enough to scorch bare a good portion of the planet before it disappeared from existence. In the wake of this disaster, the world economy collapsed, and many nations ceased to exist after being flooded with refugees. The barren wastelands that now made up most of the world's landmasses proved nearly uninhabitable and a good 70% of the survivors died in the following years. It took a decade of hard work, but civilization at last  managed to recover, and a new world government: the congress of surviving nations, or CONSNT (pronounced consent) was formed on the opposite side if the world from the disaster, on the continent of Ophia.

The Beast's appearance did not simply alter the landscape, however. Whatever caused the duel spirit to manifest on earth also seems to have broken open some sort of barrier between the two dimensions, creating what has come to be known as the Exile effect by CONSNT scientists. During games of duel monsters, objects and spirits from the spirit world have begun to manifest themselves on earth when their corresponding cards are put into play, taking the place of the solid-vision holograms normally found in duels and occasional attacking the players. At first, this was only a rare occurrence, but in recent years Exile appearances have become exponentially more common.  This has caused as a host of problems for the fledgeling CONSNT as ever more exiles appear and wreak havoc, bringing their endless conflicts with them from the spirit world and attacking humans. Worse still, due to the exiles' intrinsic connection with the game itself, cards played on them become real, allowing for the weaponization of what was once a simple card game. With CONSNT still struggling to regain its footing on Ophia, and the rest of the world having become a lawless wasteland, the world has entered a period of chaos and conflict. The winds of change are howling once again......

In the wake of the mysterious duel spirit's appearance 30 years ago, much of the world was left scorched and burned. While the previous 30 years have seen some re-growth, much of the world is still comprised of blasted, decaying ruins of cities and harsh desert landscape, punctuated by the occasional oasis of green. As a result, it is not uncommon to go from an advanced metropolitan area to rocky, desert wasteland, and back again. While thematically and culturally identical to the world featured in the first three Yu-GI-Oh! anime, the world of Exiles is geographically unique. The world has three continents: Hermulnir, Kinsfeld, and Ophia. Ophia is the farthest east and is the smallest. Southwest of Ophia, across the small Ceres ocean is the largest: Kinsfeld. Farther west, across the Giatos Ocean is Hermulnir, otherwise known as the lost continent. The Morphaze ocean, the largest body of water on the planet, separates Ophia from Hermulnir, and is considered much too treacherous to cross. Here is some more detailed information on all three continents.

Ophia:  The smallest and least damaged of the three continents in the wake of the disaster. It is home to a large portion of the remaining human race. Ophia is where CONSNT was established, and the Capital, Gaea, is located on the easternmost coast, about as far from the epicenter of the disaster as possible. Despite being the least damaged of the three, Ophia still has its fair share of scorched desert wastelands. These wastes become much more common as one travels farther west, coinciding with a decrease in CONSNT presence. While not as bad as similar regions on other continents, these areas still tend to be rather lawless, and are home to local warlords who tend to cause trouble for CONSNT. Ophia has a mostly temperate climate, but its southern shores tend to be quite tropical, and are known in CONSNT as great tourist destinations.  There is a large mountain range that bisects Ophia into east and west halves. The western half is much less controlled by CONSNT, while the eastern half is more governed, and as a result more prosperous.

Kinsfeld: The largest continent, Kinsfeld is nearly cut in half by the equator, and as a result is quite tropical in climate. While there is a  small CONSNT presence here, the people largely govern their own communities while receiving  little support from the government. Since the disaster, most of Kinsfeld has become ruined desert.Outlaws and warlords tend to be the dominant powers in these areas, and controlling them has been a massive problem for both the people and the beleaguered local CONSNT forces.

Hermulnir: The lost Continent. Once home to the most powerful nation on the planet, the entire land mass is now a battered ruin. Little is known about what those who dwell in this hellish wasteland. Should one be brave enough to approach its eastern shore, they would be barely able to make out a glimpse of the old orbital elevator, somehow still standing after the calamity, off on the horizon. It is rumored that exiles appear spontaneously here, without duels.

The spirit World: The dimension from which exiles originate. According to the accounts of most exiles, it is many magnitudes larger than earth, with much more varied terrain.
The name given to the unknown phenomenon that caused the original exile to appear 30 years ago, and has continued to cause the exponential increase in exile appearances over the past few decades. It is also the cause of Rifts and the reason that cards played on exiles become real.

Exiles are monsters (or occasionally spells and traps) that originate from the spirit world, and are transported to earth by a mysterious phenomenon known as the Exile Effect when the card corresponding to the exile is played in a duel. When an Exile is summoned, the creature’s spirit possesses the solid vision hologram generated by the duel disk. In essence, this creates a real, flesh-and-blood body for the monster to inhabit. It should be noted that each and every exile possesses what is known as an Exile ability, which is a special power that is unique to each individual exile. Exiles develop exile abilities as a side effect of coming to earth. Exile abilities are always in some way related to the card that summoned the exile's text, and are thought to be derived from the card's gameplay abilities or flavor text. As well, cards played on exiles that can affect them legally in gameplay become connected to them, and as a result become real. CONSNT has discovered that there are in fact three classes of Exiles.

Visitor Exiles- The most common variety of Exile, Visitor Class exiles are tied to the card that summoned them, and die if the physical card they are tied to card is destroyed. Visitor Exiles' connection to this world is temporary, and most disappear and return to the spirit world within 3-15 minutes after summoning. However, they retain their free-will while on Earth, and as a result the can and have attacked duelists on a whim. Some, however, have been know to enjoy taking part in duels. It is advised by CONSNT to immediately destroy any card that has summoned a hostile visitor. When a Visitor exile is killed, its card and any cards played on it spontaneously combust.

Rogue Exiles- The second most common Variety, Rogue class Exiles' cards burn upon their summoning, meaning that Rogues are  here to stay on earth, and are not bound by the duel disk or card they were summoned by, leaving the creature with absolute free will. The survival rate for duelists who summon rogues is about 40%. The survival rate for their opponents is 20%. Most rogues tend to be powerful high level and extra deck monsters, and it is speculated that their sheer power is what destroys their bond to the card that summoned them. Cards cannot be played on Rogues and as a result they must rely on their own abilities in combat duels. However this also means that it is impossible to target them with offensive spells and traps. The Exile abilities of rogues are always more potent than those of any other class.

Bound Exiles- The rarest type of exile, Bound Class exiles are a cross between Rogue and Visitor Class. They are still bound to their cards, but the connection is permanent, and like Rogues they are here to stay on Earth. Though Bound Exiles are just as hostile as any other class, they often form strong bonds with the duelist that summoned them, either out of fear of being killed by the duelist destroying their card, or an actual feeling of camaraderie. Bound Exiles are always warped to the field and Summoned when their card is played, no matter where the exile is currently located. When a Bound exile is killed, its card and any cards played on it spontaneously combust.

Latent Exiles- A sub-class of bound exiles, Latent exiles have not actually been summoned to earth, but their corresponding cards are guaranteed to summon them as bound exiles. It is impossible to tell if a card is connected to a latent exile, but all extant examples have been extremely rare, unique cards.

It should be noted that, depending on whether a pendulum monster is considered a spell or monster when summoned, that a pendulum exile may die upon summoning, as they cannot sustain their forms when in spell mode. Thus pendulum exiles are very rare.

The World government established ten years after the disaster CONSNT is still struggling t establish itself as a serious power 20 years later. Although it has expanded its territory and now governs (at least to some degree) almost all of Ophia and a portion of Kinsfeld, it's relatively small Monster Hunter Force has trouble keeping the peace. The government itself also often favors the rich and powerful who live in Gaea, and as a result the CONSNT is constantly plagued by rebels and malcontents living farther out in the wastes.

A new variation of duel monsters that has sprung up in recent years, combat dueling involves exiles and duelists battling each other using the exile effect to make cards played on exiles become real. A combat duel requires the participation of at least one bound or visitor exile, as only cards played on one will become real.  As a sport, a combat duel ends when one side is incapacitated. However, combat duels that occur outside the arena are often fought to the death, and have become the main form of warfare since the disaster. While it is entirely possible to partake in a combat duel using a regular duel disk, the most efficient method makes use of a weaponized duel disk variant known as a combat disk. (NOTE: Combat dueling will be the main form of combat in the rp)

An organization made up of combat duelists and exiles that work to protect CONSNT and its people. THeir job is to hunt down dangerous exiles and duelists. The term has also been applied to independent combat duelists and exiles who work as guns for hire in the wastelands.

Rifts are another symptom of the Exile effect, and are portals that briefly open between the spirit world and earth. While Rogue exiles will occasionally travel through rifts to earth, Rifts most often result in portions of the spirit world itself changing places with terrain from earth, resulting in quite a few interesting locales.

Duel monsters cards, although still rather common, have become many fathoms more scarce since the disaster. In fact, it is very rare for anyone save a citizen of CONSNT living in Gaea itself to come into contact with enough cards to make a functional, 40-card deck. As a result, duel monsters is now often played with smaller 30 card decks, and a card copy limit of 2. Duel disks are still just as common as ever, with many being discovered and refurbished in ruins.

A weaponized variant of a duel disk designed by the late Allen Mendacem to facilitate combat dueling. While roughly similar in design to a standard Battle City-era duel disk, Combat Disks' blades are actually sharpened and capable of causing damage. As well, they are much, much more durable than a standard duel disk, and are capable of surviving attacks undamaged that even most exiles themselves would find difficult to live through (though the cards in play on the combat disk may not be so fortunate). The EnerD batteries powering combat disks allow them to more easily facilitate the generation of holograms for use with the exile effect, meaning that cards played on combat disks spawn much more detailed holograms faster. It should be noted that a combat disk is not programmed to read turns or many of the rules of the duel monsters game , and only possesses the basic software necessary to determine whether or not a card is cast-able at any given moment (indicated by the word "cast" appearing where a regular duel disk would display life points). Combat disks are also programmed to respond to voice commands, which can be used to time the casting of set cards and to automatically fish a specific card from the duelist's card pool. Most combat disks are given out to CONSNT monster hunters (although some have fallen into the hands of independent or opposing factions), and are painted in the individual Hunter's personal colors, whatever those may be. Needless to say, the use of a combat disk gives a persona massive advantage over an opponent using a regular duel disk.
What is Combat Dueling?

Because of the unique properties of an exile, actual combat between two monsters outside of a duel is very possible. However, because Exiles are still intimately tied to the actual game, cards from that game can still affect them. The resulting battle is referred to as a combat duel.

Combat duels are usually fought between at least one exile and at least one human, Most often, it is between pairs of an exile and a combat duelist, with the exile being responsible for most (but not all of the combat) and the duelist giving support by casting cards on the exile and the opponent, or occasionally fighting the opponent(s) with their own bare hands.

How does a Combat Duel work?

For starters, there are no life points or turn phases. a combat duel is simply a fight. In fact, no gameplay rules from duel monsters apply to combat duels (although as you will see the rule of the game still determine when and if certain cards can be used). Instead, it comes down to a matter of skill, strength, and luck. Combat Duels held for sport end when one side's exile is incapacitated, and limit duelists to 18-card card pools. However, combat duels that occur in conflicts are usually to the death, and have no such rules.

IMPORTANT TERMS:

Cast- when in a combat duel, cards are not played, they are cast. Casting is the same as playing the card, in that it involves the duelist placing the card on an active duel disk, however, once a card is cast, it is tied to the exile that it was played on (friend or foe) and will spontaneously combust if that exile dies in the current combat, or if the card would legally be sent to the graveyard or banished in duel monsters. Cards can only be cast if they would legally be able to affect an exile that is currently in combat in a game of duel monsters, or if they would legally be able to affect a card that is currently affecting an exile in a game of duel monsters. Otherwise, the card is useless. If a card is cast on a card that is not an exile, it is not subject to combustion if/when that card is destroyed.  Affecting can mean negating an attack, augmenting stats, being used as summon material, or destruction/banishing. NOTE : destruction effects (such as the bolts of lightning on lightning vortex) can occur, but they can be avoided just like a regular attack by dodging.
Example1: If Duelist A wanted to equip Monster A with Axe of Despair, he would fish the card from his deck or collection, and cast it on to his duel disk. If Monster A were to die in the battle while equipped with Axe of Despair, both the Monster A card containing Monster A's soul and Axe of Despair would then spontaneously combust.
Example2: If Monster B attacks  Monster A in a combat Duel, Duelist A can cast mirror force on the attack. However, Monster B is perfectly able to avoid the mirror force attack, and manages to dodge it with no ill effects by jumping out of the way.

Summon Transform- the term used to refer to a temporary transformation of an exile into a new monster through the use of a tribute/synchro/ritual/xyz/fusion summon, or through the use of a spell/trap card such as assault mode activate and the rank-up magic cards. It is conducted by using the appropriate cards from one’s deck in the same manner as a normal duel. All cards used in the summon are tied to the exile, and will combust along with the exile’s card should it die in battle. However, a monster can only be Summon-transformed into a monster of the same type, since controlling the body of an alternate type would be too difficult. It should be noted that Xyz materials combust upon being detached, meaning an exile will die if they detach their original card while it is an Xyz material.
Example: If Duelist B wanted to Summon Transform Monster B into Blue Eyes White Dragon, he would remove Monster B's card, and one other monster from his duel disk’s monster zone, and then fish the Blue Eyes White Dragon card from his deck or collection, and cast it on his duel disk. If Monster B would die in the battle, his card, the other tribute monster, and the Blue Eyes would spontaneously combust.

Exile abilities- Every exile possesses an exile ability based on their card's flavor text or card effect. Every exile's ability is unique, and two individuals of the same card type (like two daigusto emerals for example) can anddo have entirely different exile abilities. Most exiles have a penchant for giving names to their exile abilities. Some are passive, while other abilities manifest as alternate attacks or techniques. It should be noted that summon transformed exiles lose access to their Exile abilities for the duration of the period that they are transformed, unless the form that they have assumed is an upgraded or retrained version of their base form, or their transformation is extremely similar to their base form otherwise. In the first case, the summon transformation's exile ability becomes stronger and more potent to coincide wit the upgrade (sometimes with a different name as well), while in the second case, the exile ability of the base form and the transformation blend together to create a new ability that resembles the base form's moreso than the transformation's.
Example1: Monster C, a Black Rose Dragon, possesses the Exile Ability Rose Hurricane, which allows her to unleash a powerful area of effect attack whenever she is summoned by the duelist in possession of her card.
Example2: Monster D, a muka muka, summon transforms into enraged muka muka. D's exile is particle fuel, which makes him stronger the more solid particles he filters from the air. As enraged Muka Muka, Particle ignition, allows him to increase his strength further, as well as use his internal air filters to create heat from his filtered particles' friction with each other, allowing him to melt and burn objects he touches.
Example3: Monster E is a steelswarm sting with the E ability reaper syringe, which allows him to deliver a toxin in his sting that is highly toxic to non-tribute summoned summon transformed exiles. Monster E summon transforms into steelswarm roach. Roach isn't an upgrade or a retrain of sting, but is still similar enough to sting to allow for the blending of exile abilities. Roach's new ability is called Razor Syringe, which allows him to use the venom that his blade is dipped in (a holdover from his sting form's venom) to revert any summon transformation with enough strikes from his blade.

Cost- Some spells and traps have a cost that must be paid in order to play them in duel monsters. If one of these cards were to be cast in Exile combat, these costs would also have to be paid. If the cost is a card (be it discard or tribute) then the card used will combust. If the cost is life points, then the user’s life force becomes the cost, making cards like Solemn Judgement very dangerous to use. Life force can be paid using other exiles and humans as well, provided they are close enough to the caster and are either willing to give or are injured.

HOW DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARDS WORK:

TRAP CARDS: During exile combat, trap effects do not apply to the fight. Instead, any trap cast will become just as real as the exile, provided that it actually affects an exile, or card that affects an exile. For instance, a duelist casting a trap hole card will cause a sinkhole to open up in the ground underneath an exile’s feet, provided there is an exile on the ground when the trap is flipped. If there is no exile for it to target, then the duel disk will instead create a useless solid-vision hologram of the trap effect.  Another example is mirror force. Casting mirror force when an opposing exile attacks will create an actual mirror force that reflects the attack back. However, this attack can be dodged just like any other, and it most certainly isn’t lethal (unless the attack that it is reflecting would be lethal).  Traps do not have to be set on the disk to be used in exile combat, and can simply be played on command. However, a duelist must be able to fish the correct card out of his or her deck in a timely manner in order to be able to use it.

SPELL CARDS: Spell cards work in much the same way as trap cards. Their gameplay effects do not apply, and they instead create a real version of whatever is on the card. The most common spell cards used in exile combat are equip cards, simply because they are the easiest way to augment an exile’s abilities. While equip spells don’t necessarily make an exile stronger, they provide an easy way to give an exile weapons.  Kill spells (like smashing ground) are also common, but like trap cards their effects manifest in reality, and can therefore be avoided by dodging or anti-magic cards like magic jammer. Lastly, cards like polymerization and rank-up magic are commonly used for summon transformations, but since most of these cards go to the graveyard after use, they combust upon completion of the summon transformation.

MONSTERS: Monster cards are the most versatile cards in exile combat. While some, like union monsters, can augment an exile directly, the most common method of using monsters in exile combat is for tributes. Just like in a duel, if an exile is used as fusion/synchro/xyz material or a tribute for a ritual or normal summon, the exile’s soul transfers into the new body for the duration of the new card’s stint on the field. This holds true for exile combat as well, although these “summon transformations” are only temporary (they usually last from 15-30 minutes before they wear off and the exile reverts to its previous form). Be forewarned: if an exile is killed while in a transformed state, not only will it die, but all cards involved in the transformation will spontaneously combust.

EXILES: Exiles are the focal points of combat duels. They do the fighting and are affected by every card that a duelist casts on them.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of CONSNT, a combat duel tournament is being held in the capitol, Gaea, and talanted combat duelists from across Ophia and even some from Kinsfeld have been invited to participate. The city has become packed full of tourists and competitors in preparation for the event.

This influx of population has also attracted Diabolos, Ruler of the Abyss's attention. A Rogue Exile, Diabolos has slowly been building an army of malcontents and enemies of the state in order to begin conquering earth. By far the most serious threat to CONSNT, the monster hunters have been working non-stop for month trying to track him down and discover his plans. Despite this, Many agents of Diabolos's forces have managed to infiltrate Gaea, and they are planning to take the city from within with an ingenious tactical plan involving the slaughter of thousands to fuel the casting of multiple copies of Wall of Revealing Light, in order to cut Gaea off from the outside world until it is firmly under Diabolos's control.

It is opening day of the tournament, and the monster hunters have just caught wind of  Diabolos's forces presence. While it is too late to prevent their infiltration, the Hunters have gone on high alert, now knowing that an enemy is in their midst. Diabolos's forces, exile and human alike, are deployed secretly all over the city, waiting for a signal from one of their leaders to strike.

Your character(s) will either be high ranking members of Diabolos's attack force, CONSNT monster hunters on station to defend the city, or independent combat duelists in Gaea partaking in the tournament.
(note: these rules are, with some alteration, copied from Aix's own rules in his Blueblood rp. Credit goes to him)
If you intend to be in this RP, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below what sort of character you wish to play, whether they are human, or exile, what class of exile, what faction they belong to, etc. so it is easier to adjust my plans to suit having your character in this RP.

This is a PG-16 RP, thus mild swearing, sexual content and crude jokes are acceptable, and blood and gore can be expected in moderation. While this is animesque, I would not like chibis, exaggerations or any other silly things done in animation because they do not, in my opinion, translate well into a writing medium. All YCM rules apply, Advanced Clause is in full effect - no godmodding, powerplaying or metagaming, no copy-pasting characters from other RPs without fully adjusting them to suit this RP and all posts must be at least 4 lines long, though I will expect more. You are expected to put full effort into this RP, don’t be half-assed or I will have a word with you.

Acceptance is unlimited, you may control up to 4 characters, possibly more if you ask. Do be aware however, that i strongly recommend that your applications contain at least two characters (1 human and 1 exile) so as to take full advantage of combat duels in this rp. Quality control is in full effect, I reserve the right to reject any app that comes my way that doesn’t seem much effort was put into it or if I find it unsuitable or unsatisfactory for any reason. After the RP starts, acceptance will only be allowed when and if it makes sense for a new character to be introduced.

While I hope that you are active, I understand that things in life may come up, but please give me a notification beforehand if you are dropping out or on temporary leave.

I demand that you read the Database and Combat Dueling Guide before applying. Please note that both of these may be updated as the rp goes on.

This rp, while inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh!, is thematically similar to a more typical shounen anime. Expect shounen tropes to play a large part in the plot. Because of this, this rp will focus much less on regular duels, and instead most combat will be in the form of combat duels, which are explained above. Regular duels may still play a small part, but they will for the most part be absent. If you have any questions about how any of this stuff works, feel free to ask me.

Please remove all items in parenthesis ()  and spoilers before submitting your application. Spoilers are expected for the longer categories. Please remove any categories that do not apply to the character from the skeleton when compiling your application.

Zane_Gwiazda_2.jpg
"When you see your shot, you take it, and to hell with the guys who said you'd miss."
Name: Zane Gwiazda
Theme: Beyond the Stars- Eye Empire
Gender: Male
Age: 19 (He's going on 20, though)
Height: 5'11"
Zane_Gwiazda.jpg
Zane has a rather thin but athletic build, with broad shoulders and a slender frame. Despite (or perhaps because of) this, he's well toned and appears to be in excellent shape. His hair is rather messy and often appears to be windblown. He doesn't smile much, but on that same token Zane rarely ever frowns, and he always seems to give off an air of calm content, or he looks as if he's intently focused on something. Zane usually wears a black and white long sleeve shirt with a low cut red collar, and black pants. When it gets colder, he has a brown bomber jacket that he dons to keep warm. His duel disk is an old MK I model painted white with navy trim, although he tends to avoid wearing it unless he needs to use it.

Zane is a determined, rational young man with a cool head and a quick wit. While book smarts certainly aren't his specialty, his years living out in the wastes have made him wise beyond his years, and combined with his natural intelligence this allows him to adapt and respond to almost any situation. Zane has seen and experienced some terrible things in his life, and he's rather jaded as a result of these experiences. While calling him grim and pessimistic might be a stretch, it has certainly made him a realist, if not a cynic, and Zane tends to see things for what they are. This also means that Zane isn't trusting, and getting him to open up to anyone (Astrum notwithstanding) at all is very difficult. However, deep down Zane is idealistic and good, and this inner nature often subtly manifests itself in his actions, whether they be the random acts of charity he tends to display or his willingness to go against his better judgement if it means that he can do some good.  Still, like many other wastelanders struggling to support themselves, Zane often puts his and Astrum's needs above those of others, and as a result he often comes off as selfish and distant when dealing with others, not to mention he's apt to be rather blunt. Zane is very opportunistic, and one might say he's greedy to a fault. Thus, he's willing to to take on any sort of job if the pay is good. He's very difficult to anger, and even when he is agitated he usually displays a stern, brooding sort of anger, rather than losing his cool. One of Zane's most defining features is his drive. He throws himself wholeheartedly into whatever he's doing, and its very hard for him to give up or admit defeat. While this stubbornness causes problems for him, it also allows him to accomplish things that others would find difficult. Its very difficult for Zane to connect emotionally with anyone (again, his "brother" Astrum notwithstanding, as the two are extremely close), and as a result he has difficulty expressing himself properly. Still, he truly tries his best to do what he believes is right and help others, even if the attitude he projects seems to indicate otherwise.
Faction: Independent
Zane was born in western Ophia, near the farthest edge of CONSNT control. His father died of an illness when he was very young, and he was raised mostly by his mother. He first summoned Astrum at age eight, and, rather surprisingly, the two became friends almost instantly. The pair more or less grew up together, since Astrum too was roughly as old as Zane was. Both consider each other siblings despite being of different species and will often refer to one another as their brother when speaking about their counterpart in the third person. The small settlement in which Zane lived was often beset by raiders and Exiles, and as a result Zane and Astrum learned to combat duel to aid in their home's defense. Unfortunately, their abilities were simply not enough, and during a particularly fierce raid the settlement was razed. Zane was 13 at thte time, and he lost both his home and his remaining parent in the attack.Zane and Astrum set out soon after, and ever since they have been working as independent Monster Hunters to support themselves, taking work wherever they can find it. Having lived a life of combat for some eleven years, Zane has become a top class combat duelist. Despite living and operating in remote areas, Zane's abilities soon caught the attention of CONSNT, who on numerous occasions have attempted unsuccessfully to recruit him as a monster hunter. Even still, he has been invited to participate in the tournament in Gaea.

Dragon Treasure x2

Misc. info/fun facts:
Despite his thin build, Zane is actually rather strong, and he's capable of sprinting for long distances as well. Zane owns a Blue Yusei Go style duel runner, and although the machine's solid vision projector is long broken, it makes for an excellent mode of transportation, and zane has modified it with a newer engine and a pair of saddle bags. Zane has a passing interest in astronomy, and enjoys stargazing. His favorite color is white, and his favorite food is beef jerky.

tumblr_n1o8v20EsW1s6hco9o8_1280.png
"Everything is so much more interesting when its hands-on"
Name: Astrum Argentum
Age: 20, roughly
Gender: Male
Card: Stardust Dragon
Exile Class: Bound Class
Owner of card: Zane Gwiazda
Faction: Independent
Astrum is identical to his card art, save for a few battle scars.

Having lived on Earth for more than half of his life, Astrum is now more attached to the Earth than he is to the spirit world, and despite being an Exile has developed a rather human personality. Unlike Zane, who is rational and cool headed, Astrum is the hot blooded member of the pair. While he isn't quick to anger, he's prone to expressing himself, and being a dragon this means that he's almost constantly aggressive in some way. Whether this means hitting someone who's agitated him, or just speaking his mind, Astrum often comes off as abrasive toward others. His appearance belies his intelligence and cunning, and despite being a predatory reptile Astrum is actually quite devious, and is often subtly manipulative. Despite this, he almost always has good intentions and is actually the more openly kind-hearted of the two, since he is not as jaded as Zane is. Astrum is rather snarky as well, and always has a sarcastic comment or two about whatever situation he's in. Of course, despite his 11 years on earth, his draconic nature still occasionally gets the better of him, whether it be the urge to hunt or simply forgetting human manners. Astrum absolutely enjoys a fight, especially the visceral joy he receives from melee combat. In fact, he often gos out of his way to avoid using his breath weapon in battle, favoring instead his own claws and Zane's copy of armory arm. Astrum is also a very curious individual. Whenever eh encounters something new, he constantly pesters those around him with questions, or does his own investigations. The knowledge that this curiosity has bestowed upon him makes Astrum very wily both in and out of battle, and he always seems to have some sort of answer to a problem.

Astrum is rather fortunate for a bound exile. Not only did he and Zane get along almost immediately, but Zane's mother even treated the dragon as one of her own. As a result, Astrum holds humans in high regard, and considers Zane a brother despite being of a different species.  Having lived and fought alongside Zane for the past 11 years, Astrum has developed a fearsome reputation out in the wastes, both for his skill in battle and the raw force of his armory arm-augmented punches.

Astrum's Exile ability is known as Chaff Sanctuary. Astrum's wings are constantly shedding small metallic gold colored particles, which linger in the air for a few minutes wherever he goes. The particles are actually magical in nature, and absorb and dissipate some of the destructive force of any attack that comes in contact with them. Astrum can shed large amounts of these at will to create fields of gold chaff, and while each individual particle's effect on an attack is negligible, when concentrated they are able to greatly reduce damage and destructive force. While this is mainly useful for projectile attacks, the chaff particles also decrease the strength of melee attacks as well (to a lesser degree, however). Anyone fighting within the chaff field (Astrum excluded) will begin to feel winded and out of energy should they launch attacks from within it, although it has no ill effects on anyone within who has no offensive intentions (ie: defending themselves passively by blocking, etc.). Since Astrum's wings are themselves covered in the chaff particles at all times, they make potent defensive shields. However, it should be noted that repeated use of Astrum's ability in quick succession (whether to block with his wings or create chaff fields) will rapidly deplete his stores of chaff particles, rendering his exile ability useless for a period of a few hours to a day, depending on how much of his chaff stores he's depleted.
Misc. info/fun facts:
Astrum's nose is strong enough for him to detect pheromones in the air, giving him the ability to accurately judge the intentions of most humans by smell. He absolutely loves fish, and always takes an opportunity to hunt for them whenever he's near a body of water. Despite the difficulty of having claws, Astrum is actually capable of (rather sloppy) handwriting, although he rarely has any occasion to write anything.

DarkPaladin-TF04-JP-VG.jpg

"Should you attempt to harm those under my protection, know that you will be hunted and slaughtered without mercy or hesitation."
Name: Miloj Urnamara
Age: 29 (Physically) 243 (actual)
Gender: Male
Card: Dark Paladin
Exile Class: Rogue
Faction: CONSNT
Miloj is identical to his card art, save for the fact that he wears his hair slightly shorter.

Miloj is outwardly cold and grim, focusing almost entirely on his duties as CONSNT's top monster hunter and secret weapon. However, this demeanor is entirely a facade that he keeps up in order to project an air of invincibility. In reality, Miloj is a warmhearted, empathetic man who cares deeply for the plight of both those under his protection as citizens of CONSNT as well as his fellow exiles, He knows only too well the pain and confusion that often accompany the summoning of an exile, as they are often ripped from their home with no warning, sometimes never to return, and many times are forced to take part in battles that have no meaning for them. However, Miloj rarely shows this side of himself, and as a result he projects a frightening, grim air toward both his enemies/targets, as well as his subordinates. He does, however, show great interest in new recruits, and often personally heads their instruction. As a result most of CONSNT's hunters are on very good terms with him, and many even consider him a father figure. He is not a man to be crossed, however, as he has yet to be defeated in battle and those who have witnessed him hunting targets have described him as brutal and merciless.

In the spirit world, Miloj worked as a professional dragonslayer to support his wife and child, and gained such a fearsome reputation that he is feared even by exiles on earth for his skills. Miloj became an exile during CONSNT's formative years, and during this time he was a crucial factor in CONSNT's establishment as the dominant governing body on Ophia. Since then he has become CONSNT's secret weapon: dispatching any serious threats almost singlehandedly. As of late, however, he's begun to grow weary of the elitist policies of the government, and does his best to make sure that all of CONSNT's citizens stay free and safe, regardless of status.

Codenamed Scaleshred by CONSNT, Miloj's Exile ability allows him to precisely determine the location of any weak point on a target (be it organic or mechanical). He uses this to determine the exact point at which to strike with either his polearm or shadow magic, and is thus able to take down an enemy with relative ease. This is especially effective against dragons, as it allows Miloj to determine the angle at which to strike with his polearm in order to literally flay the scales from a dragon's hide. He often completely skins his draconic targets this way.
Misc. info/fun facts: Miloj does not age due to a ritual he underwent long ago to fuse mana into his body. It worked, however it dyed his hair grey and his skin blue-grey. He is able to sustain flight indefinitely with his shadow magic. Miloj loves to eat pocky.
Seth Veritas & Noxus Eranigma

DiabolosKingoftheAbyss-TF04-JP-VG.jpg

"I will see this world kneel before me, lest it be burned to the ground."
Name: Diabolos
Age: Unknown, many, many millennia.
Gender: Male
Card: Diabolos, King of the Abyss
Exile Class: Rogue
Faction: Diabolos
Identical to his card art, save for the fact that many of his chains have fallen off and the ones that have not are rusty and broken.

Diabolos is every bit as demonic as he looks. Sadistic, cruel, and undeniably evil, his draconic appearance nonetheless hides not only a brilliant tactical mind, but also a warped sense of loyalty to his subordinates that, though he often sacrifices his followers like worthless pawns, often sends small pangs of regret to his cold heart. Thus, though he is often abusive and violent, he is very appreciative of his followers and greatly rewards those who accomplish great and terrible feats in his name, or simply do things that please him or further his goals. Still, these small positive qualities are greatly overshadowed by his sadism and desire for conquest. Above all else, Diabolos wants to rule the world, and he wants his conquest to be painful and horrific for those who dare oppose his right to rule. As of late however, the normally brilliantly intelligent demon has been making tactical mistakes, has become noticeably more irritable and violent, and was even once observed speaking incoherently to himself in tongues. This, combined with his more ragged appearance and broken, rusty chains, seems to indicate that the king of the abyss may himself be slipping into madness....

Prior to being summoned, Diabolos ruled the abyss, one of the spirit world's rival underworlds, with an iron fist. He often led bloody raids to the surface, and was in an almost constant state of war against the rival underworlds of pandemonium and dark world. Naturally, he gained a fearsome reputation in the spirit world, and over the millennia his 'exploits' became the stuff of nightmares and dark legends.  Though accounts of the incident differ, most agree that Diabolos leveled a mountain upon his summoning, his dark energy creating minor earthquakes throughout Ophia as he did so. He has since made the resulting crater and the now revealed cave system beneath the mountain his base of operations, its strategic location within the treacherous peaks bisecting ophia giving him not only an ideal place to build his forces away from CONSNT's prying eyes, but also an excellent staging area from which to recruit the vagabonds and malcontents that compose his army. Urban legend has it that the duelist who summoned Diabolos is still alive, being held prisoner by the dragon and tortured for his own amusment.

Diabolos's Exile Ability has been codenamed Demon's Touch by CONSNT. Diabolos, being an immensely powerful demon, constantly secretes miasma as he respirates, the substance forming a luminescent purple fog around him should he allow it to build up enough in one area. Diabolos is able to manipulate this miasma and fire it from his mouth as an energized breath weapon. Exposure to the miasma for short periods in its inert gaseous form causes disorientation, loss of motor skills, and vulnerability to suggestion, while long term exposure often causes madness, paralysis, mutation, and even death. When weaponized, its effects are made much more potent, and it is also able to corrode whatever it comes in contact with, often resulting in the target literally (and painfully) melting.
Misc. info/fun facts: Unlike most exiles, who's powers and abilities seem to fit the cards that are based on them, Diabolos's own trading card is woefully underpowered compared to the real thing. Diabolos is frighteningly large and powerful, and is easily capable of annihilating multiple monsters who's cards would normally indicate their distinct advantage.

Arthur_Mendacem2.jpg

"You can't set the world on fire unless you're willing to burn along with it."
Name: Arthur Mendacem
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Height: 6' 2"
Arthur_Mendacem.jpg

Other than his long hair, which he has grown out since leaving the military, Arthur looks every bit the part of a soldier. He is tall, well built, and still wears his olive green combat fatigues and crimson combat disk. He constantly looks ill at ease, and most casual observers can easily note the fiery anger that simmers just under the surface of his scowling visage.

Equal parts passionate idealist, driven revolutionary, and vengeful soldier, Arthur is a man on a mission. His one and only motivation is to bring down CONSNT, which he sees (somewhat correctly) as a corrupt system that caters to the wealthy and powerful while neglecting its citizens. In order to do so, Arthur is willing and able to do whatever he deems necessary to further his cause, having joined up with Diabolos solely because his forces pose the largest threat to CONSNT, and consequently have the best chance of toppling it. Despite his idealism, Arthur is a realist, and thus is willing to go to dangerous extremes if it means accomplishing his objectives. He is perfectly willing to kill civilians if it furthers his goals or makes a political statement, and on that same token he is also perfectly willing to sacrifice his own life on his mission should it be necessary and warranted. Arthur is constantly ill at ease, and is very quick to anger. Despite this though, he never lets his anger get the better of his judgement, and as a result he remains collected and tactically brilliant even when in a rage. In conversation Arthur is a man of few words, and when he does speak, he is blunt and to the point.
Faction: Diabolos
The only son of Carl Mendacem, the man who literally wrote the book on combat dueling, Arthur was once one of CONSNT's best and brightest. Arthur spent his childhood in his father's care, and was a young boy during the era of warfare that was CONSNT's formative years. By the time he was approaching adolescence, Arthur had already come to loathe the condescending attitudes of CONSNT's elite and he despised their use of power to further their own ends. However, due to a combination of his own advantageous place in society and his father's personal grooming of Arthur's combat dueling skills, his anger was stayed for a good number of years as Arthur rapidly became one of CONSNT's best and brightest monster hunters, even despite his lack of an exile partner. However, his father, who had always been a sort of philanthropist, was caught distributing combat disks to civilian militias in western Ophia when Arthur was 22, and summarily executed for treason by rival political factions in the government. This was the last straw for Arthur, who immediately went AWOL and vanished off of CONSNT's radar for a good four years. When he resurfaced, Arthur quickly became one of the biggest threats to CONSNT operations, and within one year was personally responsible for the deaths of over 30 CONSNT hunters and their exiles. Consistently remaining on CONSNT's top 10 most wanted list, Arthur has developed a fearsome reputation. He has very recently joined up with Diabolos, and was partnered with the exile Cestus for the Gaea operation, both to ensure their mission's success and to keep Cestus in line while making use of his skillset.

WIP
Exile: Cestus
Misc. info/fun facts: As the son of the man who wrote the book on combat dueling with over a decade of combat experience under his belt, Arthur is one of the best combat duelists on the planet. Combined with Cestus's raw strength, Arthur's skill makes the duo frighteningly potent, easily able to defeat all but the best CONSNT has to throw at them. Arthur has a strong dislike for Diabolos, and intends on killing the demon himself once CONSNT has been brought down. He utterly despises his Exile partner and his need for senseless killing, but Arthur puts up with Cestus to ensure the success of the operation.

psycho_cestus.png

"It's all fun and games until someone survives!"
Name: Cestus
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Card: (Number 105) Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus
Exile Class: Bound
Owner of card: Himself (Currently in the possession of Arthur Mendacem)
Faction:  Diabolos
Cestus is identical to his card art, although he often retracts his mouth guard to reveal a demented smile.

Cestus is a psychopath, plain and simple. His one and only real motivation is to kill as many people as possible, which he often refers to as his 'Fun". Cestus isn't picky about who or how he kills, only that he is able to do so as often as possible, and he takes a childish delight in ending lives. In fact, Cestus's demeanor is very childish, as he often whines and complains when he isn't having fun, and takes delight in the instant gratification he receives when taking out unarmed, weak targets like civilians. Consequently, Cestus gets extremely annoyed when his targets fight back, and he will become angered when he has to put any effort into taking down an opponent. This, of course, works to his allies' advantage, as Cestus is a very capable and deadly combatant, and having him focus on one enemy usually results in the target's elimination. This isn't to say that Cestus does not like to fight, but rather that he is easily frustrated when he doesn't win quickly. His annoyance is usually fleeting, however. Although he is clearly evil and sadistic, Cestus actually cares very little about what happens to his targets. Rather, he's self absorbed, caring only for his own gratification that he receives from doing what he does. This makes him very carefree in combat, and he can even come across as absent-minded. The only surefire way to earn Cestus's undying hatred is to survive a fight against him (Assuming said person was singled out and not part of a group of targets that Cestus haphazardly launched a fireball at), and those that do are subject to his near unending pursuit, and he does in fact take his time sadistically inflicting pain on those he hates when he finally catches up to them.

In the spirit world, Cestus was a gladiator who was known for killing every one of his opponents with glee. This attitude carried over to earth when he was summoned, and blood stains on his card are clearly indicative of the fate of the duelist that summoned him. Cestus willingly joined Diabolos in order to have more opportunities to kill, and subsequently his card has been passed around among Diabolos's combat duelists, though these partners usually seem to end up dead by the end of the mission. His most recent partner is Arthur Mendacem, whom he has been paired with in order to be kept under control, as well as to create a potent combination for combat during the Gaea operation.

The CONSNT codename for Cestus's Exile ability is Genocide Haymaker. Cestus is able to concentrate all of his destructive force in his arms, causing them to give off heat and glow faintly when he does so. Any strikes he delivers while his arms are in this state can deliver roughly 30 times the damage that they normally would, and simply making contact with his arms is enough to flay skin, tear muscle, and even shatter bone. That said, Cestus can only maintain this state for short periods before it begins to cause similar levels of damage to his own arms, and overuse of this technique can and does render his arms useless occasionally.
Misc. info/fun facts: Cestus has lost all feeling in his arms, save pain and some occasional pressure, from overuse of his exile ability.
Piessee

So, you were talking about remaking this yesterday and I'm already pumped. I already have a friend drawing the picture, so that should be done soon. I'm gonna go ahead and follow what it told me in the rules and info and post a quick description of what I plan my character to be.

He's going to be a human, unaccompanied by an Exile. While he works as a scientist for CONSNT, he doesn't hold any large loyalty to them. To be perfectly blunt, he holds loyalty to no one but himself. He's been trying for months to find some way that could bring Exiles back to their world. This isn't done out of fear, but rather because he believes it's the right thing to do. He's rather spiteful towards the current society, blaming everyone for the ruined state of things. He gazes at the planet each morning, pure contempt in his eyes. He's a bit of a "cleverer than thou" type, scheming endlessly for situations that always end in his intended result. He's willing to kill, start wars, manipulate, backstab, lie, anything to get the Exiles back to the home they were ripped from. He'll succumb to the level of a bastard to do the right thing. Because someone has to.

I can probably take a few things from that paragraph and add it to the app, but that's the base idea of my character.

How do Xyz Summoning and Numbers work in this?

Huh. We had a scientist last go around too if i remember correctly. I'm cool with the concept so far, although without an exile he'll most likely end up acting as some sort of mission control.

Mugen beat me to it, but everything's outlined in the combat dueling giude. As for numbers themselves, I was considering doing what i did with avatar war and just removing the numbers from their card names. In this universe its a minor thing, so it isn't really much of an issue anyway.

I REMEMBER THIS

maybe reserve for now, but I may not enter this as I already have two other RPs.

Well if you've got time and can stay active feel free to jump in.

Probably, but I think that fits my idea for him more. I don't think of a character whose goal is to return Exiles to their home would risk befriending one. That's not to say he wouldn't interact with any of them, he would just rather not get involved in what he sees as such a mess anyway. Not to say that can't change if need be.

On a different note, I'll probably be editing this post with a rough-draft later tonight and then finishing it late tomorrow, after I meet up with my friend.

EDIT:
2Rl29Q5.jpg

"I've seen many a plan fail. Plans cannot take into account the true chaos of the world. Thus, the wise man does not plan; he prepares."
Name: Lynn Starr(Formerly: Russell Yates)
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Height: 6' 3"
27xvBS6.jpg

Lynn is best categorized by the word slender. Weighing 126 pounds, he's laughably light-weight. He's in shape, but doesn't excel in any physical activities, as he has spent this time on his brain instead. Of course, he's no slouch and he's able to show a fair amount of physical prowess, just nothing too above average. Where he had once spent more time on his appearance, he's changed many mannerisms as to avoid suspicious. Firstly, he deliberately dresses in a sloppier style, keeping his hair reasonably messy. He also slouches more, keeping his head pointed toward the ground generally. Lynn also uses coats to his advantage to distract from his height.

Lynn is no typical man and he rarely acts thusly. He’s a genius, always one to plan several steps ahead and to observe heavily. As he is not one to use brute force to get is way, he schemes and plots a multitude of situations that can be altered at a moment’s notice. He comes off bitter and distant to most at first glance and generally keeps up the act. Deep down, however, he's a courageous man with a strong will. He believes in a sense of selflessness and justice, but remains unmoved by the concept of morality. Lynn considers anything fair as long as it leads towards the proper goal, no matter how heinous the crime. He’s not one to create plans that have a losing condition and rather takes note of everything he possibly can to create situations where his side always benefits. And while he is willing to do anything for the greater good, he’ll only do what he believes is necessary, nothing more.

Having had a bit of experience in acting, he will test various, albeit small, changes in his personality to gain the trust of certain people who could aid him in his goal. He prefers to be at the helm of everything and rather dislikes secrets kept by others, though he keeps himself almost entirely in secrecy. Lynn is known for making sacrifices for the good of the majority, though he looks down on others for not doing so. He has the utmost respect for those who do try to be righteous and attempts to do less harm to such people. But in the end, Lynn's determined to help this world, no matter the cost.
Faction: Independent
Lynn Starr was born a mere three years from the collapse of society. His early life was spent with various refugees across Ophia as his parents moved closer to organized society before CONSNT was established. He watched as his parents and their allies tried to make a good example, but lost so much to those who would resort to darker means. As such, the message that his parents tried so hard to convey was warped to him. When CONSNT finally stood tall, his parents did their best to get him educated as well as he could. It was only as he started going to any sort of makeshift school that they realized how intelligent Lynn really was. He breezed through his studies and was quickly involved with many of the higher science programs in Gaea. His strongest two subjects were Theoretical Physics and acting. His parents, sadly, couldn’t afford to live in Gaea after his departure from their residence and were forced to move out to the farther parts of Ophia. They left him a few things they had gotten for him as a going away gift: a duel disk and a deck. Lynn offered them a somewhat minimal fee, more interested in his new involvement with Exile Effect research than his family and Duel Monsters. Though he’d never admit it, he did modify the deck to include more powerful and synergistic cards over time and even began watching and playing the game he strayed away from.

From then onward, he had a comfortable life, but still slowly became bitter as time went on, watching as these creatures, torn from their homes and experimented on in these glorified prison cells. He also saw as the world became more reliant on them overall, the parasitic relationship eating away at both parties involved, some with overblown patriotism and others with anarchic souls. It was then he began to put into effect his secret research on a reversal of the Exile Effect. When the tournament was announced he realized that this would be a perfect chance to further his efforts and study the Exile Effect in closer detail, but he would require an Exile himself. CONSNT had provided all he needed, but now he needed to be free from their jurisdiction. He'd get change his identity, use his remaining funds to buy a humble apartment, and start anew. In a few nights, he stole several vital pieces of equipment he would need. In his final trip before he would disappear off the face of the planet, he looked through the various subjects CONSNT researchers had gathered over the years. In a rare stroke of luck, he found a Blackwing Exile, one that fit perfectly with the cards he had already owned. He broke out the Exile, grabbed the card and made his escape. The following day, his house, and much inside was sold, nothing left. Who he was disappeared completely. He had personally cut his hair and bought an apartment on the other side of Gaea. The world was introduced to Lynn Starr, a humble man who had just earned the money to live in Gaea. With the tournament fast approaching, he and his new Exile are preparing. This could be the time that he could right what has been wronged for 30 years.
BgQpLYS.png

"Never truly is one away from his brothers, for their calls carry on the wind itself."

Name: Sirocco
Age: 86
Gender: Male
Card: Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn
Exile Class: Bound
Owner of card: Lynn Starr
Faction: Independent
Identical to his on card appearance.

Sirocco is a born leader, complete with the confidence, cunning, and pride that generally comes with. However, to simplify him to such cliche terms is extremely disrespectful to what he truly is. Having been at the helm of power for so long has benefited his ideals as much as his actions. He was blessed early on in life with near perfect memory. He is very much a warrior, his tribe/flock being a militaristic kind, shown in his astute knowledge of battle. His flock has fended off many a foe with Sirocco as their strategist. But one thing often overlooked about the elder is his interest in philosophy. He was never one to blindly believe what many previous elders had spoken, instead taking old teachings and combining them with proven information to shape his beliefs.

That being said, he's no huge mastermind, but he doesn't pretend to be one. He's an elder from a simpler people, but this only furthers his appreciation for life. Well, life he deems worthy of such. He's also a bit of an extremist in the idea of family and one's community, viewing those that don't honor either as disgusting. Sirocco has one huge flaw, however, the very flock he loves so much. Without them, he views life as near meaningless, the very thought of being home becoming his sole goal. As such, he is known to look troubled and even become distracted at small things. He doesn't make much of an effort to come off nice and prefers to not speak. But deep down, Sirocco is bitterly worried about his flock, they being his family. He uses his hardened leader exterior to hide his fear for himself and his family. On a final note, he has a fiery hatred for CONSNT.
So flicking through, and just want to clarify something: I think I get the Human/Exile relationship and the Combat Dueling thing. Is it something more akin to stauff like say Digimon in that relationship, or Monsuno, Dinosaur King and I think Bakugan work with this sort of model which you have one main partner monster that you upgrade, use attack cards to make it more powerful, shielded, etc?

Also, are all the Exiles existing YGO monsters / are there custom cards / and do the Exiles of the RP usually speak human?

Digimon and bakugan (i think, im not very familiar with bakugan) are good comparisons, although there isn't anything enforcing a digimon-esque equal partnership and some exiles simply make use of a duelist partner to further their own goals, or vice versa.  Heck, some duelists operate without an exile (or their exile may be an equip spell which they wield) in which cast it would be the human that does most/all of the fighting. Rogue-class exiles are immune to the effects of cards as well, since they are not bound to the card game in any way. They tend to operate independently and are generally more dangerous than a bound-class.

Exiles are more/less duel spirits, and so they can all communicate with humans reliably. Its up to you whether that means telepathy, actually being able to speak, or some other form of communication. Its very possible that an exile is only able to converse with certain people due to some sort of limitation, and some might not be intelligent enough to communicate at all (like a dinosaur-type, for example)

While my intention is that all exiles be existing cards, i'm willing to make some exceptions on a case-by-case basis, and there may be room in the plot later to use custom cards for summon transformations.

Ok, so I'm a complete noob when it comes to RPing, but this has caught my attention. I'll send my app when/if I decide to join.

Everyone's gotta start sometime right? I'd be more than happy to have you join. And if you have any questions feel free to ask me/people in the rp section who are better roleplayers than me.

Alright, I'd have two ideas for apps.

1. someone who was affiliated (not a member, but knew of its existence and was actively involved with its operations) with Yliaster

2. a psychic duelist

these okay?

Since exiles takes place in an alternate universe, im not sure yliaster ever existed. If it did, it ceased to exist long before the original exile appeared, and so no character would be aware of its existance.

As for applying as a psychic duelist (assuming you're refering to the 5ds variety and not some other concept that im unaware of) while im not opposed to the idea necessarily, it would be largely redundant since real card effects occur in combat duels anyway. That being said, im planning on introducing a similar concept later on in the plot, but revealing anything soecific about it would spoil some plot points. Having a pc with those abilities might be beneficial, so pm about it if youre interested in that.

Oh Lord, This, I remember this, I see Zane and Argentum, that's almost enough to make me want to bring back Seth and Noxus.....not sure

Wasn't expecting to see you show up for this. Welcome back XD.

While their names are mostly the same, Zane and Astrum's character dynamic is different this time. They're silimar to the older versions, but they aren't entirely recycled. Anywho, looking forward to your app, Noxus or no Noxus.
"The Day that this world was turned into nothing but ruins, was the day that real monsters appeared in this world, and I'm hardly talking about the Exiles"

Gender:Male

Age:22

Height:6 feet, 3 inches
Vampire_01_by_Demonidras_thumbhghg_zps99

Rather imposing, Seth is a very well structured man after long hours of training, not to say he's musclebound however as that would impede his movement, but he has well defined muscles in comparison to other members of CONSNT. He has short unkempt black hair which normally covers one of his eyes and leaves the other almost always glaring at someone. He normally wears a black  and dark grey striped shirt covered over by a large overcoat where he houses his cards while he also wears a pair of heavy looking cargo pants where he prefers to keep extra cards in case he ever needs to burn any of his cards for use of an effect. His most defining feature, are his eyes, which are an unnatural dark red in color, making it look like he has nothing but bloodlust at all times.

Seth isn't exactly the friendliest of members of CONSNT, while not outwardly cruel to anyone he seems to have little regards to anything but his mission, leaving him at odds with anyone he teams up with, and giving him a bad reputation with other hunters. When it comes to those who have chosen the opposing team or even those who don't choose a side he seems to have less regards as they are either wrong or indecisive in his eyes, though he himself has only allied himself with CONSNT to have use of their resources while he is on his missions against the Exiles. He is a man of few words, preferring to only talk when dueling or when information needs to be transferred to a team mate, and usually will go off on his own to finish a mission before anyone else can even arrive as back-up, this attitude goes well with his "partner" Noxus who enjoys showing his superiority over other Exiles. Seth has no familial ties, only knowing what is expected of him in a military role, yet he knows what people want to see him as and usually acts the part of a cool and collected soldier, his aloof attitude is only a mask for his feelings of rage he has towards the hierarchal system he was born into and will never expose his true nature to his comrades, though he's not anti social, far from it, as he knows that social ties are important for advancing in the world, he responds to his partners and comrades often with no words, but simply listening, many seeing him as someone who cares about other problems and while it can be tedious with how many dead parents there happen to be in CONSNT, it has helped him gain a keen understanding of people and information about those he works with.
Faction: CONSNT
Seth was born to an unknown mother and father during the times of reconstruction under CONSNT rule, a difficult time to be a parent as the poor had very little to eat or survive on, He was given up for adoption immediately after his birth and the members of CONSNT had a way with dealing with the thousands of Orphans in Ophia, namely, training them and putting them on the front lines of the battles to regain the forgotten lands from the Visitor and Rogue Exiles, many whom don't survive their first tour. Seth was raised from the beginning to be one such soldier, knowing very well that he was left behind by his family for their own survival, completely understandable in this day and age, he was nothing more then an obstacle to their life as such he was discarded, much like anything in his life that was a problem, should be dealt with swiftly, the approach he took his entire life in the Orphanage, The Academy, and also in the actual organization. He knew that the Exiles were a threat, in the way of survival, so he never complained about his life, he didn't have the time too, instead focusing his time spent on training and study to become the best, but the higher in rank he rose, the more he saw that his ideals were also different from CONSNT, they seemed too complacent with just holding the Exiles back, but had no clear plan to stop them. Seth has taken it upon himself to use CONSNT's power to find the cause and destroy it, because it's in his way.
Misc. info/fun facts: Seth's favorite past time is martial arts, feeling that dueling doesn't help him become strong enough to fight Exile's on his own, his favorite color is black, a calming color that lets him feel at ease and his favorite food is tacos....no idea why

"A Duel is fought when two opponents of equal strength clash in a battle of Strength and Wit, You have chosen to Challenge me, as such, it will not be a Duel, It will be Slaughter"

Age: ?

Gender:Male

Card: Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon

Exile Class: Bound Exile

(If Bound Exile) Owner of card: Seth Veritas

Faction: CONSNT
a large and imposing Red-Eyes that considers himself to be the pinnacle of his race, he's about twice as large as a normal Dragon Exile and with a wingspan to boot, making it difficult for him to fit in small rooms due to his size. He looks like a normal R.E.D.M.D, but something about his stare makes many people feel he would have been a more apt Rouge Exile, causing more terror then the Exiles he kills.

He is large, domineering and controlling of any he feels are beneath him, and that includes alot of people, he has a great temperament and ego due to his power and widely believes himself to be the True King of all Dragons, his abilities aren't to laugh at however and he may almost deserve the title, always willing to go into harder battles, he feels Seth is the only duelist that can truly use his power correctly in a duel. He can commend other duelists for their ability and while he boasts as the most powerful Dragon, he finds interests in the Exiles of other species powers, namely looking for a way at all times to find their weaknesses, and exploiting them if ever need be, as he feels he should always be prepared at any moment to turn against CONSNT. While Seth may have a need for CONSNT's resources, Noxus feels better without them and many times argues that they hold back Seth's progress into becoming a monster himself, a spiritual transformation he is most excited to see. Noxus does have a huge ego, always boasting and always sure of himself, and having a powerful duelist at his side makes his position seem secure as Dragon King, however his ego is the teams biggest weakness and any losses the two have had in the past can be attributed to him, something he does not like being reminded of.

Having been born and raised in the spirit world, Noxus has great pride in his home, the Great cliffs where he was from were a usual place to roost and battle for dominance, which Noxus is known to have taken down many challengers. Constant battle has built him resilient and violent, very possessive of his throne. One Thrown was not enough as Noxus shortly bean attacking the other Dragon clans for a unification between them, under his rule. His reputation grew as he destroyed countless villages with his growing army of Dragons, clashng head with the Legendary Blue Eyes as his victory was slowly becoming sure, when he suddenly appeared infront of a boy, he would have killed the human instantly if it werent for his eyes, which struck a chord in Noxus' and for somereason, made him impossible to leave behind

Dragon King's Roar, As Self Proclaimed King of the Dragons, Noxus is actually known to have dominance over many breeds of his species, Having near complete control of dragons allows him the ability to temporarily use their souls as a weapon, whether to do things he cannot or to absorb their soul to increase his own power during a heated battle. Being a King has it's perks, however, in a world where his influence is significantly weaker he cannot control Dragons of levels higher then 4 as easily, which he usually works over as his immense power on it's own is usually enough to take down any opponent. As for summoning cards from the actual Graveyard, they can only assist as his usual minions would and he prefers to have a lot of minions at his side, Seth prefers to keep the Dragons in his card pool at level four and under in case any spontaneously become exiles and as such, get taken under Noxus' control as quickly as possible.
Misc. info/fun facts: Despite his demeanor, he does have a code which he uses only when dealing with other Dragons, accepting duels with Dragons as challenges for his throne, he also greatly dislikes being used for material or tributes as he dislikes being a species other then his own
Was going back and forth on whether or not to join, but then I had pretty much the most incredible idea for an exile ever, so I should have an app in within the near future.

Word. Clue me in?

EDIT: also, like blueblood before it, Exiles has its own skype chat. If I don;t have any of you on skype, you can pm me or post your contact info here and I'll add you.
hgxow5d.png

"I'll take you all out - one by one."

Name:  Morrigan

Gender:  Female

Age:  19

Theme:  Ignorance - Paramore | Derse Dreamers - Ashley Lyons + Jeremy "Solatrus" Iamurri | Flare

Height:  5'5

Weight:  99 lbs.

Faction:  CONSNT
sample_2fc8026cb38df05413ca40f869b6ab63b

None are more battle-hardened than Morrigan;  a veteran of many battles and a victor of all.  Many a member of CONSNT look towards her for guidance, which she is absolutely happy to give.  Yet, beneath this very professional guise lies a brisk hatred of the military and all things surrounding it.  She hates the officialness of it all.  She hates the harming of others, and she absolutely hates being spoken down to by her superiors.  This is why she excels, and this is her drive.  She strives to achieve that which puts her above the rest - that which will allow her to live a normal life with a good conscience.  She knows that she is one of the few in the military of CONSNT that knows what she is doing.

She's a bit jaded, though can be far more agreeable when she's not on the job.  She's quick to point out someone's flaws and is gets annoyed when someone doesn't use whatever is in their power to better themselves.  She never claims to be the quintessential nice girl and she takes offense to the idea of someone being a generic 'girl-next-door'.  She likes asserting that she's, in fact, a mean b**** in control.

She has a soft spot for children and has always wanted some of her own.

Grief is an adept counselor, or so is the case in the life of Morrigan. Born into a family whose past was wrought with death and bad luck, she was raised by a pair of parents who always saw her as simply a burden on their life. Her father was a high ranking member of the newly established CONSNT military; her mother was a factory worker, producing components for a company known widely for combat duel equipment. As both of her parents worked, she was left alone for a majority of her childhood. Money was scarce despite her father being a high ranking CONSNT officer; all of the money he had earned went into a gambling addiction, which primarily consisted of betting on underground combat duels. Her mother was a strong, yet distant figure in her childhood as the money used to provide for the family came from her. Her father wasn't allowed to touch that, she remembers, and the influx of cash from her mother's hard work often led to a fight between her parents. Her father consistently felt useless and would sometimes take to drinking, but he would never harm Morrigan or her mother.

Being a military kid had a few effects on Morrigan, or 'Morgie' as her mother called her. She grew up hating the military and swore that she would never, ever join up with CONSNT or even get involved with combat dueling. This slowly changed as she grew up, seeing that combat dueling was necessary for the general protection for citizens like her. She could see why her father had taken to addictions; they were an out to the hard work that he had to put into work every day, and their life at home simply wasn't a good enough break for him. She never wanted to be a military officer like him, but every opportunity that presented itself to her led her down the path of the warrior, mostly thanks to her father.

So, she was on the path well trodden; yet, unlike the many small footsteps barely visible on this dusty path, her footsteps were large and imposing; she excelled in all of the combat courses available to her except applied tactics – she was more on-the-go in her work than anything, and this was mirrored in her personal Exile.

There's a lot Morrigan won't tell anyone about her past – one wonders what could be haunting her enough to keep that information secret.

"ARTIFACT ENGINE IGNITION.  SYSTEMS RUNNING AT FULL CAPACITY.  WEAPON 'FAILNAUGHT' ENGAGE. WHIRRRR WHIRRRR, MOTHERF*CKER"

Name:  "SINCE I'M REALLY GETTING TIRED OF ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS, LET'S THINK OF A BADASS NAME.  HOW ABOUT 'FACELESS MEDALLION'?  YES, THAT IS GOOD.  MAKES YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT ME AND MY MYSTERIOUS PAST."

Age:  "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK ARTIFACT EVEN MEANS?  I AM REALLY, REALLY OLD."

Gender:  "ARE YOU STUPID?  I AM A NECKLACE."

Exile Class:  "BOUND, AND TO THE ONLY ONE OF YOU WHO DOESN'T SPEAK LIKE AN IDIOT."
"I REALLY THINK YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN ENOUGH."

Notes from Morrigan:  Well, here you are.  This is my Exile;  ain't he something?  He's really very snappy towards anyone he dislikes, which, to be honest, probably includes just about everybody I've ever come into contact with.  He's very fond of me, from what I can tell;  I can't actually tell if this is just his own dry sarcasm or actual praise speaking about me, though.  He has a tendency to curse whenever possible and he always makes the weirdest snide pop culture references.  He's quick to jump to the gun and accuse someone of doing something.  All in all, he's not bright, but he is really clever.  He certainly does make me laugh.

There's something about him in battle, though.  He's always ruthless, and he's always craving the 'glint of a blade running through flesh'.  He very much enjoys what he does, and he begs me to find another Artifact exile.  He says that he will never be completed without finding one.  That's weird, right?

"I AM LITERALLY A PIECE OF JEWELRY FROM A DIFFERENT DIMENSION.  LOOK, IMAGINE WHAT A PIECE OF JEWELRY IN YOUR WORLD EXPERIENCES.  NOW YOU KNOW MY BACKSTORY."
Notes from Morrigan:  "Sometimes my stupid medallion can get full of himself, but he more than pulls his weight in battle, thanks to his ability, which I have formally dubbed as "Reshatter", he will cause the Artifact weapon he is embedded into to shatter into tiny fragments, releasing its inner power.  Depending on the broken Artifact, this power varies - Moralltach will create a very destructive energy blast, easily capable of destroying even the hardiest of foes, whereas Failnaught will fire a massive arrow.  Here I have compiled a list of effects that Reshatter will trigger based on the current weapon.

 • Moralltach:  Large, highly concentrated energy burst in a small area around the weapon.  Very powerful.
 • Failnaught:  Green spiritual fire in the shape of a bow appears in the shape of the original Artifact and fires an innumerable volley of arrows, before reforming as a new weapon.
Trivia

Faceless medallion is terrified of dragons.
