Card Contest Judging Exam (Other TCG Version)

As you all have noticed by now, Card Contests now caters to other TCG/CCGs outside of the Yugioh franchise. With the addition of this forum, a card making exam for the other games will be implemented, in a similar matter to how the general section is run. While we do not expect to have the same problems as the main forums in terms of contest quality here, it's important that you know what you're doing when hosting/volunteering your services to judge in one.

In a similar vein, you'll need to pass an exam before being allowed to host a contest. With this being said, most of the current Custom Card staff don't play other TCG/CCGs that are common here; therefore, the exam in this section will not be administered by neither Saber (as he already mans the Yugioh-based one), Striker or myself (I will manage the Naruto CCG exams if sufficient interest is shown). You are to send your verdict/review of the card to one of the members below who is in charge of the game you wish to make a contest/judge for.

Keep in mind that the exams for each game will vary, but is intended to serve the same purpose as the general one; make sure you know how to differentiate good/bad cards when judging/hosting.

 

JUDGING RENEWAL

 

As mentioned earlier, we don't expect this section to get the same amount of problems that exist in the Yugioh Contest area; therefore the judging period for this section will be longer: 8 weeks (or 2 months). Much like how Saber is running the general exam, those of you who have already taken/passed the exams two times will not need to take further exams, as you've proven that you have a thorough understanding of what is expected in the game you choose to make card contests for.

 

You will have a tally next to your name in brackets, indicating how many exams you've taken/passed.

 

You may still take the exam on the day it is to change, since it will add on to your total judging exams. However, it is advised that you take it as early as possible, so you have as much time as needed to judge under your current license. Do note that if it expires in the middle of a contest you're either hosting/helping with the judging, you will need to renew it within two weeks, or else you will need to withdraw your judging services or end contest/refund entry fees [if any].

 

The duration of your judging period will start at 12:00 AM on the day after you are confirmed to have passed and ends at 12:00 AM eight weeks later.

 

All times will be using GMT -10 (Hawaiʻi Standard Time), as to keep things uniform.

(We don't observe daylight savings time, so the time here will remain constant). You may wish to convert your timezone to HST using this.

As a reminder, send your answers to the members listed below, NOT towards .Saber or any of the CC mods (unless our name is listed with a game that we're judging).

If another game should be added AND has sufficient interest on YCM, feel free to mention it. It isn't worth our time to make an exam for a card game that only 1-2 members play.

I wonder when the Warlord TCG will get a contest. Or a judge for that matter.

If you know what you're doing for the game, then we can get a contest judge for it. As a minimum, you should be known fairly well here first so we can be sure that your judgment can be trusted.

 

There are a good amount of other CCGs out there; we can't always get them all. If interest rises in the game here, we might consider it.

 

 

If the Naruto CCG were still active, I could run the exam for that game; but no one here plays it and as already noted, game died sometime last year. I know 1 or 2 other members made cards for it at some point, though, but that's not enough to merit an exam.

Because of recent events, it's been decided that this exam is unnecessary for the time being and will be decommissioned until a need for it arrives.

 

Out of the members who play other card games, the majority of you are veteran members in the regular areas of CC / respective TCG sections. Given that, you should, more or less, know what you're supposed to be doing while grading entries and so on.
