Would you kill to save yourself?
8 teenagers are kidnapped from their normal lives, and each wake up in their own independent rooms in a large manor, situated on an enclosed compound. There is no cell range, but each of them has a text message, stating exactly two things: the name of one of the other teenagers, and that if they are to kill the person by that name, they will be allowed to leave. Of course it is not quite as simple as that, as if when they kill the person named in their message, they will receive another message, stating the target of the one who they have killed. Put simply, Nobody can leave until all but one of them is dead. Whether the teenagers are up front about the matter with each other is up to them, and none of them will start off knowing the one who was assigned to kill them. Let the games begin.

b. Posting in script format is forbidden.

Reserve, although I have a question that'll probably affect character development, and maybe the general personality of characters as well:

Say I've been ordered to kill Joe Blogs, but instead come across Jimmy Steed. Would I still be able to interact with Jimmy in a less than hostile manner? Y'know, ask him how he's coping with the current situation, advise him on how to go about [acronym='assuming I know it's not me of course']taking down his own target[/acronym], that sort of thing?

On that note, can temporarily alliances be made at all? I imagine you'd draw the line on that subject somewhere, but I thought I'd ask.

The answer to every one of your questions is yes, of course.

As long as you aren't killing anyone other than either your target or the one targetting you, it is all fair game. Keep in ,mind, however, that not everyone will be straightforward with the issue, so alliances can easily be broken.
Name: Mamoru Hijiri
Age: 15
Gender: M
MekakuHibiya.png

Measurements

Weight: 102 lbs

Height: 5'2"

Mamoru is a very quite young man, often keeping to himself as he finds social interaction awkward do to being childishly over-expressive, and despite being very mature he is shortness and child-ish habits often make people think he's younger than he actually is. He absolutely despises this though, and has come to hate being compared in anyway to a child or child-ish things, to the point that he even gets annoyed at others goofing off, or acting child-ish around him.

Mamoru in contrast to his appearance is quite mature and often acting aloof and detaching himself from situations. Towards people he doesn't know he gives off a somewhat pretentious and cold attitude. This has caused to lose out on many relationships, which only helps to encourage his rather stand-off ish and asocial behavior.

Despite having a very mature, and aloof attitude Mamoru has several very naive and innocent points about him that often endear him to others. Chief among these is his shyness around girls of his same age, and is easily embarrassed at even the slightest mention of something sexual. He also has a child-ish curiosity about the world, and if something odd grabs his attention he will fervently pursue more information on it.

A very placid person, Mamoru tends to drift through life with no actually interest in anything going around him, but he can get really into things should they interest him. Despite often giving off a calm, and almost apathetic air, with a sufficient amount of duress Mamoru can be spurred into anger, which is often a shock to others due to his quiet demeanor.

Mamoru has lived a very normal life. Loving parents, a few friends here and there, going to school. All in all he's lead a painfully boring life, and that doesn't seem to bother him at all. He was bullied a bit during Junior High for his stature, but has since then moved on, and learned to ignored the biting remarks of a few blockhead classmates (as he calls them). All in all having led a very average, he was quite uncomfortable, to say the least, finding out that he would soon be apart of a killing game.

His only real claim to fame would be his artistic ability. Gaining in interest in the subject during his middle school years Mamoru began attending many art programs, both in school and out of school. This has not only improved his artistic skill, but also gave him the opportunity to gain friendships, and improve his social skills.

Artistic: Mamoru is a talented artist in many points of design be it painting, sculpting, metalworking, sewing, or just basic pen and pencil Mamoru has at least a basic grasp of almost all art forms. That being said despite being talented to an advanced level, he is still only a highschool student, and having spread his skills and time to so many different areas he's no master and still has flaws.

 • Subcategory Note [Sewing/Metalworking]: Mamoru being a crafty squirt is very good at using limited materials when it comes to making things. He's good at incorporating everyday objects into his creations, and thus always has an eye out for something he could use in his next project.

Above Average Intelligence: Mamoru's no Albert Einstein, but he's no dunce either, a straight A student years of hard work have made him slightly smarter than most people of his age.
Other:

 • He really doesn't like people mentioning how short he is....
 • He uses his hands a lot when he speaks, and habit that he is unaware of
Quick question are these characters Japanese or not. I kinda went on that assumption b/c I'm a weeb, but after I started typing this I realized this might be an important question.

Pfft. Reserves. People very rarely come to claim them.

I've got a cold hard app for ya.

Name: Aaron Jeffrey Todd
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Pretty tall for his age, at 5'10", but thin, lanky, and angular- he only weighs 108 lbs. He has short, jet-black hair, and is heterochromic- his left eye is green, the right violet. He's kinda pale, despite how often he spends outdoors, but he never burns either- he jokes that his skin doesn't know he's in the sun. Despite his best efforts, he just cannot seem to grow facial hair.
Pretty typically for a teenager, he tends to prefer dark clothing- his black jeans and Bad Religion T-shirt are a testament to this. Even when he's not in school, he has a small backpack flung over one shoulder, filled with various junk he's decided to keep. Even though it is technically against his school's rules, he has taken advantage of the fact that his school's security does nothing to wear some old-fashioned Greek sandals (that he secretly gave near-silent moccasin soles). He's got a jagged scar on his left arm that runs from his wrist to his elbow, and constantly changes his story when asked about it.
Personality: If most people were asked about Aaron, they'd call him a generally nice person who simply doesn't like following rules all that much. They'd say he exudes charisma, and most people feel perfectly fine doing what he asks, because he's so polite about it. They'd say that he's a great kid, who's upwardly mobile and will probably reach Harvard a year early.
Those people are blind. Aaron is actually a budding psychopath, who has found that it is really easy to pretend to be something he's not. He's a master manipulator, good at telling people what he feels they should know- nothing more, nothing less. Lying to people is an inevitability, but luckily it comes to him quite easily.
History: Born to a butcher and a "reformed" prostitute (Aaron knows she still works on the side), his life was just as much hell as one would expect. His father seemed to believe that it was still the 18th century, and took liberties with alcohol, beating his wife and kids senseless, and then demanding they keep quiet about it. His mother is no more or less than a liar, who would tell her husband straight to his face that she stopped working, then let in a client the moment he left (and then proceed to seriously rip off the client, by stealing any cash in their wallet). Aaron's sisters were all nearly broken from this experience, but it simply hardened him.
Of course, there was a turning point. Aaron's father practically impaled himself on one of the large knives he had smattered about their home, and his mother filed for welfare checks not four minutes later. Aaron himself was asked to dispose of the body (they couldn't afford a funeral, or so his mother told him), and he sliced it into enough pieces that it wasn't recognizable- the bones were all either thrown to stray dogs or crushed to dust (which his mother would sell to some to her friends, under pretense that it was a street drug). The fact that Aaron managed to hide all this from his school is quite possibly his greatest achievement in his eyes, only maybe beaten out by him hiding the large cash prizes he won from various school contests from his avaricious mother. It was through one of these school contests that he won a trip to Japan- good thing he brushed up on the language.
[Yeah, I've decided to RP a serial killer. Eat your hearts out.]
Skills/Abilities: Highly charismatic- people just want to listen to him, especially if he maintains eye contact long enough; Good Liar- most people believe what he has to say; Butcher's Son- from watching his father work, he's learned how to make just the right cuts in a body that give no resistance, which make cutting the tougher parts easier.
Other: Not much really I can say here.

So...serial killers are cool and all, but one being there sorta defeats the purpose of the experiment. Of course a serial killer would kill the people they are told so they could leave. They would just do it anyway. Additionally, the concept of an experienced killer with this creates an absurd balancing issue. Realistically speaking, literally nobody would stand a chance against them. Now if you really did want a maniac killer, it isn't unreasonable to have the character go mad from the events in the RP, but starting off as a serial killer just doesn't fit within the vibe I was hoping for.

TL;DR I appreciate your enthusiasm, but the serial killer angle just isn't going to work as a starting point. Got you in for a reserve though.

Well, that's the beauty of it- this is what many call the "Enfante Terrible" stage of a developing killer, where they have yet to kill, but they still don't have any compunctions about it- even if they deny it to themselves or others.

I've done a lot of research on serial killers (more than I should, truth be told), and just having that . . . push . . . that a killer can later use to justify their long career in murder would be an interesting plot device. Plus, just because he's predisposed to murder himself, doesn't mean he won't be caught off-guard and get bludgeoned over the head with a piece of pipe or something. Psychopathic or not, he's still a human being.
Name: Yuu Fukui
Age: 16
Gender: male
f23d55c57f52fcf40ba9eddaa51378b4.jpg

Yuu is 160 cm tall and weights 49 kilogramm.
Personality: Yuu, in the first place, is very smart. Being able to memorize almost everything he somehow heard or read and call back all of those, he has no problem with being a know-it-all, moreso, he even enjoys outsmarting others. His intelligence, however, made him quite arrogant. He usually refers to himself as a genius and keeps on persisting to be better than others, who are in his opinion, stupid people. Also, this makes him quite egoistic, as he believes those 'stupid people' to be not worth as much as him and should not be valued the same, as he believes. He is very upfront about this opinion, too, what normally makes him unpopular among groups.

To others, Yuu mostly acts cold and austere, as he dislikes talking or being with people that do not have his intelligence. However, if someone manages to impress him, either by being smart or by something else he likes, he can become somehow admiring to that person, although this does only last as long as this person keeps on impressing him. He loves challenges that really require some of his genius and usually does everything to solve problems coming up among those challenges, although not always playing fair. He can also be labled quite manipulative, as he can figure out what he needs to say to somebody, so the one does his biddings.
History: Yuu was born into a wealthy family, his father being a doctor and his mother being a successful author. Ever since his childhood, he lived detached from other children, no matter what his parents tried to make him gather friends. Instead, he spent his time reading books, magazines and newspapers, storing as much information as possible in his head. When he was at age to get into school, his parents managed to get him into an elite boarding school, where he scored above average grades and soon became the schools best student.

Still, he did not make many friends during his time there, spending most of his time reading in the library or learning on his room. Due to this and because he did not partake in any social events, he soon became a loner. However, he did not really care about it, because of his belief that he, with his intelligence, would be far superior to the other students, so he would not have to spend time with them. Although he would have been able to skip grades and graduate two years earlier from the school, he dicided not to, because he had a constant source of information there and could learn unbothered. But just before he was finally willing to leave school, he was somehow abducted and placed in an unknown location, tasked to kill someone he did not know.
Skills/Abilities: His main abilities are his brain and memory. Since his childhood, he stored every kind of information in his head that he might or might not need sometimes in his life, what lead to a gaint collection of knowledge over the time. Apart from that, his skills and abilitys are his wit and speaking skills, being able to convince most people of almost everything.

His physical traits are very low, he is not particulary muscular or fast and his stamina is also below the average.

Time for an app, time for an app~

But not just any app, this is the application of a formerly homeless person. Boom.
Name: Amaya Mikinami (handle name - real name unknown)

Age: 14

Gender: Female
2qlboz6.jpg
Note: The surgical mask hides a wide scar that stretches from below her left ear all the way through her cheek.
Weight: 98 LBS
Height: 5'4"
Personality: The first immediate impression of her is that Amaya is cold, calculating, and untrusting about anyone due to the chance that they might be an enemy. However, rather than cold, it's more like she's desperate and constantly frightened of things, having to constantly prepare herself for running away when there's even a slight chance of danger. In other words, a certain desperation to get back to her life prior to the manor, and extreme paranoia about everything around her.

However, once someone is able to get past that barrier, she'll more likely than not end up trusting them fully, under any circumstances. What she wants most in the world is comfort, and for all her paranoia, she's actually quite innocent, childlike in terms of knowledge and mindset. While this is mostly a good thing, it could also turn out to later become a flaw that could be exploited by anyone heartless enough to betray her trust.

She does not truly want to kill anyone, but is willing enough to try if it means that she'll survive a little longer. As for how it'll affect her afterwards, she's trying her best not to think about that.
The earliest thing she could remember was the moment when she realized that she was...all alone. Cut off from any sort of help or mercy, unguarded against the horrors and the cruelty of reality, left only to fend for herself. Perhaps she'd accidentally gotten separated from her parents while they were going out, perhaps they'd abandoned her out of spite and thrown her to the streets, or perhaps, perhaps it was her who ran away from them for whatever the reason. Of course, needless to say, she never really had the time to think about it - that time was spent occupied with her survival.

Each day was a death trap, and she did whatever she could to live on a little longer. Begging for money, pickpocketing, stealing from stores, and more often than not the only thing she had to eat for nourishment were small candies. Not only that, but there were strange, dangerous people out there who seemed to want to try and take her away, so she found herself running away from them each and every time. This was a danger that persisted even when she tried to sleep, so she had to pick the most remote locations and still be ready to jump up and escape at a moment's notice. While she would periodically encounter other homeless people with tents and actual stable shelters, the possibility of leaving herself vulnerable to unknown men while she slept was not one she let allow.

As a whole, the wo was nothing but utterly merciless to this little girl on the streets, living all on her own, but through some miracle, she was barely able to manage and scrape by. How many years did she spend in that perpetual existence, not even knowing her own name?

Eventually, however, that would end. It was snowing heavily, and she was extremely weak. Suffering from hypothermia, starving, and with not a single person to help her, there was little doubt that she was going to die. Frailly forcing herself to walk in the middle of the night, disorientated and without any particular destination in mind, the place that would ultimately act as her sanctuary was one she had never once considered before.

...A maid internet/gaming cafe, open 24/7.

Imagine the surprise of the workers there when she just randomly stumbled in through the revolving doors, at midnight, dying. What they thought, how they reacted in response to it, it can't even begin to be described. All that should be known was that they helped her recover and later learned of her circumstances, before allowing her to live there - though, as a requirement, she would have to work there too for as long as she stayed. Something she gladly accepted.

Thus, she was given the name Amaya Mikinami and spent the last few years living like this, learning things she never thought necessary and being able to actually hang out and do things without the constant fear of death. It got to the point that she was beginning to turn into a sort of public attraction what with her cold, mysterious, and yet oddly determined demeanor, along with how her identity was virtually unknown, with customers starting to come just to see the famous Amaya.

With the salary that she was slowly building up and the friends that she was making, it seemed for a time that Amaya may have had a chance to build a normal life.

But that is all in the past.

Now in an utterly unknown large manor, being told to kill a random stranger, it appears as though that she will have to forget all about these recent events and revert to her old skills of survival in order to make it through the coming storm.
Skills/Abilities: Amaya's most relevant skills come from her experience living homeless for many years, which involve important things such as planning escape routes to run away at a moment's notice, improvisation of shelters, hiding spots, and wepaons. eating whatever's edible, quietly moving about, and of course pickpocketing and stealing things without others noticing.

As a maid, she's also learned to cook as well as talk to others to an extent, though she still has a lot of trouble acting out the 'cute maid persona'.

Other: Despite seemingly having the advantage in terms of survival capabilities, it is very possible to get the upper hand and take her off-guard. Plus, the way she always singles herself out practically makes her a target that's bound to attract attention from others.
Hope my app wasn't too bad?

Oh, and a question. Will we know whose targets are who, or will we have to guess? Hopefully it's the latter, since that would really give the roleplay an element of awesomeness and surprise~
Name: Naoko Tsukina
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Gq3gO9w.jpg
Height: 5'7" (170 cm) Weight: 121 lbs (55 kg)
Personality: To start off, Naoko has a terrible memory. Those who are close to her, of course, remain in it, but most other details seem to... slip away away from her. To compensate, she carries a camera around with her, taking photos of as many things as she can, and she prints off the more useful photos every night, placing them in her scrapbook for easy access, labeling them with names, notes, and other miscellany. Of course, some mornings she manages to forget the location of this scrapbook, and that just throws her into a complete panic...
Despite the issues with her mental faculties, she maintains quite a bubbly personality, ready to "meet" (more accurately, take a photo of) each and every person she encounters. She does not upset easily, but if, for whatever reason, she finds the need to be in opposition of somebody else, she turns quickly into a ruthless executor, rarely hesitating to attain her goal. She values friendship of most of the other aspects of life, and does as well as she can to protect those that she considers friends, sometimes at risk to herself.
In this Game of Death, she really isn't sure what she wants to do. One side of her wants everybody to be happy, and everybody to be safe, but the other side simply wants out, and it wants it bad...

History: Naoko is the daughter of an artist and an actress, neither of which had ever been particularly successful. Of course, both her mother and her father took as good care of her as they could, working odd jobs to pay for her well-being and education. Sadly, as a teenage girl, she was unable to see the effort they put in, and moved out to live in an apartment on her own when she was 15. Living by herself with memory issues such as what she had was difficult, but through clever use of photos and sticky notes, she was able to keep up with all of the tasks of the day.
This repetitive action of taking photos so as to use for reminders honed her skills as a photographer, and by the time she was 16, she managed to enroll herself in an art-centric high-school near her home, where she took classes based specifically on photography, learning the technical side that a self-taught such as herself wouldn't have learned otherwise.
She was proud of herself. She was becoming a success where she thought her parents could not. Unfortunately, that was quickly to be pulled out from under her.

Skills/Abilities: photography: Naoko is a skilled photographer, able to quickly take shots of objects and peolple that make even the worst days seem favorable.
Other: she carries a camera with her at all times, taking photos of anything she thinks needs to be remembered.
Draconus, your character is accepted. I will add it to the OP after looking over Merc's.

Merc, I love Ayama. She is accepted, though I would like to inform you that your image is completely and totally broken. As for your question... every player will be informed of their character's target through PM. This ought to be fun.

YESH, BEHOLD THE SUPER AWESOMENESS THAT IS AMAYA

Welp - fixed the image, and it's just as I expected then. Let's hope that everything else goes smoothly~

And yeah, Amaya and Aaron against each other would certainly be interesting.
