I had been trying a bit to fix up the kinks on this one and I only fixed it a bit when I found somewhere else where this mechanic works something similar.

 

The Power Summon works a lot like Level monsters, except that the "Leveled Down" version returns to the field (unless stated otherwise) when the "Leveled Up" version is unavailable. Based on the Ritual Monsters, it's about two types of cards working in tandem to bring stronger monsters to the field.

 

You start with the non-Powered Monsters needed for the summon (or Base Monsters) and Power Spells in your main deck and the Powered Monsters in the extra deck. To perform the Power Summon, you must have face in the field the face up Base Monsters you need, then activate the Power Spell. The spell will make the Base Monster banish as an effect and the Powered Monster to be cast from the side deck and then equipped with the Power Spell. When the Powered Monster leaves the field, the Base Monster returns. Simple as that. Let's see a bit of it:

Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer

LIGHT Lv.3 - Fairy/Base/Effect - 300/500

When a WATER monster enters the field, this card gains 100 DEF. You can have this card decrease its DEF for 100 or more: increase its ATK for the same value.

 

Forest Cub

EARTH Lv.2 - Beast/Base - 200/500

A small defenseless creature at first sight, it has enough fighting will to defend its home from the menaces that lay beyond the forest.

 

Petal Dance

Power Spell

When "Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer" has 1000 or more DEF: banish it; Power Summon "Garnet Sorceress Sakuya" and equip it with this card and all the cards equipped to "Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer". When "Garnet Sorceress Sakuya" has 500 or less DEF: send it to the Extra Deck and returns this card to your hand. When this card equipped to "Garnet Sorceress Sakuya" leave the field: Special Summon banished "Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer" and decrease it's DEF by 100.

 

Garnet Sorceress Sakuya

LIGHT Lv.7 - Spellcaster/Powered/Effect - 500/1000

"Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer" powered by "Petal Dance". This card gains 100 ATK for every Face-Up WATER monster in the field. When this card is attacked by a non-WATER monster, you can decrease this card's DEF by 100 and target that monster: send it to the bottom of the deck.

 

Leaf Saber

Power Spell

Banish "Sakuya the Leaf Dancer": Power Summon "Emerald Knight Sakuya" and equip it with this card and all the cards equipped to "Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer". When this card equipped to "Emerald Knight Sakuya" leaves the field: return banished "Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer" to your hand. Banish "Forest Cub": Power Summon "Lycan Rogue Scout" and equip it with this card and all the cards equipped to "Forest Cub". When this card equipped to "Lycan Rogue Scout" leaves the field: Special Summon banished "Forest Cub" and 2 "Ghost Cub Tokens" (Beast-Type/DARK/Level 2/ATK 100/DEF 200) in Face-Up Defense Position. The "Ghost Cub Tokens" are destroyed at the end of the controller's turn.

 

Emerald Knight Sakuya

LIGHT Lv.9 - Warrior/Powered - 2100/1500

"Sakuya, the Leaf Dancer" powered by "Leaf Saber".

 

Lycan Rogue Scout

EARTH Lv.8 - Beast-Warrior/Powered/Effect - 2000/2500

"Forest Cub" powered by "Leaf Saber". While this card is Face-Up in the field: All Beast-Type monsters in your side of the field inflicts piercing damage. Each time a Beast-Type monster you control inflicts damage to your opponent's LP: Put a charge counter on this card. If this card gets 10 charge counters on it: Send it to the Extra Deck and send all the cards equipped to it to the bottom of your deck.

 

Rogue Armor

Power Spell

Pay 1000 Life and banish "Lycan Rogue Scout": Power Summon "Lycan Samurai" and equip it with this card and all the cards equipped to "Lycan Rogue Scout". When "Lycan Samurai" gets 5500 or more ATK: Banish it. When this card equipped to "Lycan Samurai" leaves the field: Special Summon banished "Lycan Rogue Scout" to the battlefield with 5 charge counters on it and equip it with "Leaf Saber" equipped to "Lycan Samurai".

 

Lycan Samurai

EARTH Lv.12 - Beast/Warrior/Powered/Effect - 4000/4000

"Lycan Rogue Warrior" powered by "Rogue Armor". This card inflicts Piercing damage. Whenever it inflicts battle damage to a player: it gains ATK equal to the amount of damage it dealt. When this card leaves the battlefield: you gain as much life as this card's ATK - 4000.

Let's see what we got so far:

  • Power Spells target only specific cards stated in their card texts.
  • The sequence of a Powered Summon is: Banish Base Monster>Summon Powered Monster>Equip Power Spell to Powered Monster.
  • Power Spells can be triggered or activated and may require extra payments beyond the banishing.
  • All equipments the Base Monster has equipped on are given to the Powered Monster, but this is not true the other way around.
  • Powered Monsters can be Base Monsters as well if a Power Spell card requires it.
  • When the Power Spell leaves the field, the Powered Monster leaves the field and the banished Base Monster returns.
  • Returning a Base Monster to the field from banishment can trigger another affect.
  • The same Base Monster can "Power Up" into different Powered Monsters thanks to different Power Spells, and different monsters can be "powered up" by the same Power Spell.
