...I'm not sure how it works now that I think about it. But I am pretty sure it can get those regardless of Plate. Though I wonder...why?

Cloyster is something you basically always have to hit right away whenever its on the field I've noticed.

Pretty sure you have be the right type

Give it Dragon plate, get Draco Met, switch to fighting get swords

Haven't tried it yet

Yeah still want to have this get to a finish. So I'm gonna try and get all of y'all in here and let it continue.

I kinda want to start a Monotype tournament since we've got fresh faces but I want to try and finish this before I even consider that.

Gonna try and get these people to speak up again. Come March I'll just officially mark it as "incomplete" (though if people want to come back to it they can) and create a Monotype tournament.

Any suggestions for specifics can be discussed though it might be pretty simple. (perhaps not allowing more than three of the same type just for diversity and allowing changing teams in between rounds)

What do you mean? How would it be Monotype if more than 3 of same Type aren't allowed?

With tournaments in this thread, I just go on to PS a few times a day, check if my opponent is online, do a few battles, check again, and then leave.

He probably means that no more than 3 people can use a given type in the tournament.

Suggestion: Allow each participant to pick three types, which they can use for different monotype teams between rounds. This can help circumvent unfortunate instances where a poison user must fight a steel user, or where a psychic user needs to fight a dark user. And also what Spaz said above; assuming you meant no more than 3 people can have a certain type. As long as the tournament doesn't get more than 18 participants (let's be frank, we usually get 8-10 so that's barely a concern) that means everyone should be able to pick three types they like.

In case what I said above might cause any confusion, I'll just explain super-fast. Say I pick water, bug, and fairy (which I just funking might). I can build a water monotype, grass monotype, or fairy monotype team. None of that "I built a water team but also Mawile is here because I picked fairy" crap.

yes this

@@Yui Nooot sure on that one. Fighting a type you're weak against and being able to prepare for it is a bit part of Monotype. Back in the day I've faced Rock and Fire with Bug before for instance. I don't want to completely nullify it.

Agreeing with Cow against this point. As evidence, I have provided replays of myself sweeping Mono-Ground with Mono-Electric and Mono-Ghost with Mono-Fighting.

(You have no idea how long it took me to find those replays)

OU doesn't take chance. Like they should suspect test darkrai post void nerf

I saw something about a custom server that had a "BL Ubers" which was basically mid-point between Ubers and OU. Something like that could be cool.

Darkrai might have too high stats for OU. iirc it gets Sludge Bomb so it's not got many things that can switch in on it.

Though it might actually be more possible than it seems at first. I'd like to see how it'd go at least.

I'd also like to see what OU would look like without Landorus-T. Not that I personally have an issue with it being so prevalent but it might be interesting to see what happens.

Right, forgot when I made that post the number of days in February. WELL HERE WE GO

[spoiler=Second SSS Monotype][spoiler=Rules]1.) Teams are OU Monotype. Nothing in Ubers or the Monotype banlist. However Pokemon from other tiers are allowed. Trust me you'll want to mix and match with this.

2.) Upon sending points for sign up you will send with it a message saying which Type you want. Put a first, second, and third, choice. If your type has been picked too many times (see next rule) I will let you know and we'll move to your second or third choice.

3.) Only two people (maybe three if it becomes an issue let me know your thoughts) will be allowed to have the same type at maximum. First come first serve.

4.) Keep in mind, while you can only use Pokemon that include the type you choose, you CAN use Pokemon with dual types.

5.) Tournament will be double elimination.

[spoiler=Entrance Fee and Prizes]To join the Tournament you must send 200 points to me. And I will add...at least 4000 points. Perhaps more depending on what we get besides that.

[spoiler=Pot]8000 Points

[spoiler=Prizes]1st place: 60% of Pot

2nd place: 30% of Pot

3rd place: 10% of Pot

[spoiler=Participants]1. God Emperor Cow

2. Azure Wolf

3. Mr Spaz

4. Reptilious

5. Yui

6. Alaina

7. Darj

8. Mr. Melon

Given that I will see the types before anyone else I think it only fair I let you know mine. However it's not fair for me to get first pick automatically so I'll do it like this.

I'm going to list my top four picks. And if my top pick gets chosen twice I move to the next. That's the best way I figured I could balance.

Fairy

Bug
Grass
Electric

Any questions/concerns/comments feel free to discuss. Hopefully we can get at least 7 others to join~

Alright I was old to stop using Zygrade and Lando by my buddies so I can have a better idea of the meta lol.

Low Detailed Team building process:

I started with Tyranitar because he's one of my old school favourites. I was thinking banded pursuit trapper but this guy is too cool to pass up on. Nicknamed him Chad because he lookes like a douchebag in mega form. Originally had earthquake but swapped it out for fire punch for Scizors and Ferrothorns.

Next I grabbed Scizor because he's just a good pokemon tbh. Knock Off over Defog (running on Zapdos) And Super Power for Ferrothorns.

I grabbed Zapdos because this pokemon annoyed the cock funk out of me a few times. Never know if it's a toxic set or not. He's my physical wall and defogger. I usually pull him out after misty terrain is gone so I can abuse his stupid status RNG.

My usual lead is is Mamoswine obviously. I play him because he checks both Magearna and Lando T which is everything I wanted in a pokemon. Also rocks.

I'm using Tapu Fini because Tyranitar doesn't like Will-o-Wisp and Misty Terrain + sandstorm buff is neat. Also keeps my Zapdos protected from Toxic.

Now for the last slot I originally had Raikou/Tapu Koko but I ended up choosing Raikou because access to Aura Sphere is nice and I didn't want to take away misty terrain. I ended up dropping him because while he was testing fine he just didn't do enough. I replaced him with 2 boost boltbeam Magearna but the found out a well used Mega Venusaur shits on my team. Haven't tested out Z-Psychic Volc yet but I am excited to try him out.

So far the team is 17-1 and the one loss was to the Venusaur.
