Sorry for not responding to the battle winter just wanted to get this out before I forget

@@Azure Wolf and @ You both need to do a Mew Off battle. Already got things settled with Yui/Octo but hadn't heard from you two yet.

@ and @ Am I gonna have to come up with some alternative for you? I could just do something like...I use a hastily made team to battle you both and whoever does the best job moves on. But I'd rather not.

Honestly this tournament is so small that whatever happens doesn’t really matter so until I get a high-quality enough response I don’t really care

And so undeserving. Like holy hell he missed a single move that wouldn't have even KOed and he said it was entirely luck. Like sure it gave Arceus a couple hits against Groudon but Giratina walled it anyway.

But this guy also is 9th on the ladder and has had like 10,000 battles so apparently this is his life or something so best to just turn off comments when you find him.

Anyway, it looks like Glamr Meta might not be tier 0 as it once was. It's still hard to build a team that doesn't have atleast 3/5 of the Glamr bits

@@Darkrai

What do you mean with "Glamr meta? Got curious on this.

Early theory in Gen7 Ubers was that there are 5 pokemon that you should have on all the best teams

Groudon (Primal) Lunala Arceus Magerna Rayquaza (Mega)

Swapping for Xerneas and Giratina Primal makes you more vulnerable to Steelceus sweeps, but with Sword Dance Ray being phased out for V-Create Ray, Magerna is hella vulnerable

Like this is the most popular GLAMR team around

Now you got me interested in the Ubers tiers. Last time I saw any Uber battles before your replays Marshadow was a thing IIRC. It is not anymore?

Also if the core is this 5-Pokemon GLAMR thing, it gives me a vibe of a Tier 0 scenario like in YGO. AFAIK Goat Format, Dragon Rulers and Performages & Pals were like this, right? where the techs and more strategic thinking made the difference.

Also I find amusing how Arceus is part of the core, but at the same time Arceus can have diverse builds and Types, so it's like a tech built into the core, so to speak. I'm guessing the most common Types for Arceus is Normal and Steel?

Water and Ground, huh. I would think those are covered by Kyogre and Groudon respectively, but I guess Arceus does offer different things. The same goes for Steel or Fairy Arceus despite Magearna being an option.

Best I can tell in part they're meant to help against Kyogre and Groudon respectively lol.

But yeah, they're usually defensive with Defog and such as far as I've seen.

I can answer this one somewhat though I'm no Uber expert. I've seen a lot of Ground and Water as well. Though as you said it can be almost anything.

Like I've seen Rock for Yveltal and Ho-Oh before and such.

Ground, Water, Fairy for Singles

Steel, Normal, Ghost for Doubles (which I play)

GLAMR isn't needed, Mega Mewtwo Y is very popular which can eat into Mega Ray

Most teams do run some form of Arceus though

Yeah Arceus-Water has always been very common in Ubers, which isn't that surprising considering how good Water is. I haven't played in USUM and I wouldn't call myself an expert of ORAS Ubers, but I've at least played the latter. I feel like an important distinction to bring up was that Arceus-Water was used to check Groudon, not Kyogre. Actually it paired kind of badly against Primal Kyogre since there wasn't much it could do back to it. I don't know what Kyogre runs now, but back in ORAS what was popular was either a defensive set with Rest (which outstalls Waterceus) or CM + 3 Attacks which, obviously, set up on it.

Outside of Water what I remember being hot was Water, Normal, Fairy, Ground, Ghost, and (a personal favorite of mine) Rock with some more niche ones cropping up like Grass. Obviously this is probably different than what's popular now but

No real point in running Ground or Water in dubers however, Since you'd much rather switch in the Primals to make Origin Pulse/V-create/Flame Fist fizzle

Marshadow is like S tier in Uber Singles, it's not good in Dubers, Gira O, Arceus, Magerna, Xerneas, and Lunala will all funk it up

Not to mention the usual Darks

No competent player will let you steal there set up in Dubers due to protect. And the other pokemon might be able to KO you in that time
