All Hail, The Goddess of Love, Beauty, and s*x

Son of Aphrodite

We already have "Agent of Creation - Venus" and "Splendid Venus" but what I want is "Aphrodite", Cause i'm fed up of those roman counterparts already.

Lore:

You can tribute 1 fairy-type monster; target one monster your opponent controls: Special Summon the targeted monster to your side of the field (Monsters Summoned by this effect are immediately treated as fairy-type monsters as soon and as long as it is face up on the field). The effects of "Aphrodite" can only be activated once per turn and can only be activated if "Aphrodite" is special summoned by card effects that specifically special summons a fairy-type monster. Each time you activate the effects of "Aphrodite" you take 1000 damage then gain 500 life points (This damage is treated as battle damage taken from a battle involving "Aphrodite").

----------------

Here are few of the existing fairy monsters and support cards that combos well with "Aphrodite", making her a worthy card to be stapled in the "great fairies" deck.

The Sanctuary in the Sky

Lore: Battle Damage to the controller of a Fairy-Type monster from a battle involving that Fairy-Type monster becomes 0.

Athena

Lore: Each time a Fairy-Type monster(s) is Summoned: Inflict 600 damage to your opponent. Once per turn: You can send 1 face-up Fairy-Type monster you control to the Graveyard, except "Athena", then target 1 Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard, except "Athena"; Special Summon that target.

Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen

Lore: Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your hand. You must control no monsters to activate and to resolve this effect.

---------------

PS. she controls monster cause she's the "Goddess of love and Beauty".

I would really appreciate OCG fixes and promise to learn from your fixes. :D

Let's get to work.

If this card has been Special Summoned by a card effect that Special Summons only Fairy-Type monsters: You can Tribute 1 Fairy-Type monster, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of it, and if you do, it is also Special Summon the targeted monster to your side of the field (Monsters Summoned by this effect are immediately treated as Fairy-Type monsters as soon and as long as it is face up on the field), then you take 1000 damage, then you gain 500 LP. You can only activate this effects of "Aphrodite" can only be activated once per turn and can only be activated if "Aphrodite" is special summoned by card effects that specifically special summons a fairy-type monster. Each time you activate the effects of "Aphrodite" you take 1000 damage then gain 500 life points (This damage is treated as battle damage taken from a battle involving "Aphrodite").

A few problems here.

The fact that this card needs to be Special Summoned by particularly specific effects makes it difficult to use. Yes, there are those cards which you've mentioned, but building towards very specific combos and excluding everything else kills off it's general useability.

Then again, this card gets an incredibly powerful effect, seeing that you get to take control of your opponent's monsters almost indefinitely. You can even Tribute Aphrodite herself and you still gain control of that monster. Thank goodness it's reined in by a once-per-turn-per-copy clause.

The damage taken and life gained afterwards seems almost irrelevant, as if stapled on as an afterthought to exploit with Sanctuary. You can have the 1000 damage be the standard Effect Damage and this card's effect is still as powerful. You can change the whole thing into LP payment and there's little to no change in the general power of the effect. Whether it's there or not makes little difference - taking control of monsters is just that potent.
