Welcome to "Cryxok's New Support for Forgotten Decks"!

Episode II: Spiders!

The "Spider" archetype is a group of  Spy Spiders; Insect-type monsters whose effects revolve around putting your opponent's monsters in Defense Position. Once in defense they can take control of them, search for comrades if they destroy them and even use them as tributes for their boss monster: Mother Spider. Unfortunately, this archetype never got much support: 6 monsters and 2 spells are all they have. Well, allow me to introduce a few more:

5 new spider monsters, including 1 new boss synchro monster: Overseer Spider. Their effects and a quick overview:

Overseer Spider

Synchro/ Level 9/ Dark / Insect / ATK 3100 / DEF  2800

1 "Spider" tuner monster + 1 or more non-tuner monsters
This card can be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending from the field to the Graveyard 1 "Spider" tuner monster and 1 or more face-up Defense Position non-tuner monsters your opponent controls whose total Levels equals this card's Level. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up Defense Position Monster and 1 other card on the field: Send the first target to the Graveyard and return the other to the owner's hand.

Overseer Spider is the new boss monster. It's main attractive is that, much like the previous boss, Mother Spider, he can be summoned using your opponent's Defense Position monsters as tributes. Has massive attack but it's Lv9, so he isn't that easy to summon (unless you use the Anime-only Dark Tuner Spider Cocoon). His second effect is an added bonus. (Pic Source: Bloodborne for PS4; check it out!)

Decoy Spider

Level 3/ Ground / Insect / ATK 1000 / DEF  1000

If this card is destroyed by battle and send to the Graveyard: Special Summon 2 "Spider" Tokens (Insect-Type/GROUND/Level 3/ATK 1000/DEF 0) in Defense Position on your opponent's side of the field. The tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon or used a Synchro Material monsters.

At first, this card may not look like much, but has a handful of uses: First of all, the tokens will annoy your opponent, taking 2 of his spots and they can't be used for anything. Second, since they're in defense, they help other Spiders do their work. Another appealing fact is that the new tuner "Supply Spider" + the tokens can be used to Special Summon Overseer.

Infiltrator Spider (slightly altered compared to the picture)

Level 4/ Ground / Insect / ATK 1800 / DEF  1400

If this Attack Position monster battles an opponent Attack Position monster: before the Damage Step, you can switch both monsters to Defense Position. Opponent monsters switched to Defense Position by this card's effect cannot change their battle position.

This monster seems like it could be a vital piece in the deck. It can paralize any opposing monster either when attacking or being attacked. Great on both, offensive and defensive.

Supply Spider

Level 3/ Ground / Insect / Tuner  / ATK 1400 / DEF  800

If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned while your opponent has a face up Defense Position monster: You can Special Summon 1 "Spider" monster from your Hand or  Graveyard

Supply Spider is the new tuner and also helps to swam the field. Can be used to Synchro Summon Overseer when paired with Mother Spider. Maybe not great but good enough. Biggest pro is that it can summon any Spider including Mother or even Overseer without a negative effect to them. Maybe I should rewrite Overseer so it cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard... will think that over.

Disruptor Spider

Level 4/ Ground / Insect  / ATK 300 / DEF  1900

While this card is face-up on the field: the effects of face-up Defense Position Effect Monsters your opponent controls are negated. If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: Change this card to Defense Position.

If you have Disruptor and Stumbling in your first hand, congratulations, you just shut down many deck's openings. Negating other monsters effects is always good and welcome.

On top of the new "Spider" support, just to cover all the bases, I also made some new Insect support. Other than Inzektors, I really can think of a relevant Insect archetype, which is why Spiders need all the help they can get. I may create a new Insect Archetype later on using these cards! Here they are:

Bee Drone

Level 4/ Wind / Insect  / ATK 2000 / DEF  800

If this card battles a monster: Destroy this card at the end of the Damage Step. If this card is destroyed by it's own effect: Special Summon 2 level 4 or lower Insect monsters from your deck in face-up Attack Position

Insect Hive

Each time an Insect-type monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned: Place 1 Larvae Counter on this card. You can remove any number of Larvae Counters from this card to Special Summon from your deck 1 Insect-type monster whose Level is equal to the number of Larvae Counters removed.

Accel Morphosis

Tribute 1 Insect-type monster you control that has a Level; Banish 1 Insect-type monster from your deck with a higher Level than the Tributed monster. During your next Standby Phase, Special Summon the banished monster ignoring it's summoning conditions.

Sudden Swarm Attack!

You can only activate this card if an Insect-type monster you control battles an opponent monster. Special Summon any number of Insect-type monsters from your Hand or Graveyard. Insect-type monsters you control gain 200 ATK for each Insect-type monster on your side of the field. At the end of the Battle Phase, destroy all monsters on your side of the field.

I don't think I need to say much about these cards. They're mostly to swarm the field. Insect Hive is like a weaker Gateway to the Six Samurai. Sudden Swarm Attack! is a last resort heavy attack, similar to Limiter Removal. Accel Morphosis can be used to speed up the deck and bring a big guy early on. There aren't that many high-level Insect Monsters I'd like to bring out with this thing tho. The only ones I can think of are the Ultimate Great Moth, Doom Dozer and The Earthbound Immortal (assuming you use field spells).
