This club is specially made for people who are either experienced or inexperienced with the RP or Fan Fic field. I'm sure that you'll be able to learn from one of us, or we can learn from you. If you are interested, then this could be the place for you. Despite the name, we don't separate teachers from students, men from boys or the best from the worst. We're just here to help you in any way we can.

As much as I hate to do so, I must implement a warning. Fortunately, they all have something to do with breaking the rules.

Break them once: One Strike.

Cause trouble for me and other members or break the rules twice: Two Strikes.

Causing an undying feud with each other or break the rules thrice: Three Strikes.

Three Strikes = 24 hour ban.

It's that simple.

You can advertise your Role Plays or Creative Written work here. Make sure your work isn't from outside of YCM and if you are stuck at something or struggling to get people in, feel free to talk to us about it.

2. Tharmingo: Brick Goes Scuba Diving

3. Tharmingo: Jessie, We Gotta Go Fast
There's only a few rules around here.

1. Don't spam, flame or troll

2. Don't go off-topic. The topic would always be each other's RPs or Fan Fics. Don't go astray, folks.

3. You can advertise your Creative Written Piece or Role Plays here. Just make sure it's not outside of YCM though.

4. Don't start feuds with other club members.

Break any of those rules, and I will start kicking people out. If you start a feud with any of our club members, I will kick both, if not all members involved out of the club and incur a 24 hour ban. This club is supposed to be a peaceful environment.

The best I can come up with at the moment is think as if you were writing an essay, and be imaginative.

When I first came here, I didn't have much to offer, in fact I was just like you.

It all comes down to pure efforts, as far as I can tell.

Go to the RP or CW forum, and learn something from there. Afterwards, you can get some writing done. Whenever you feel discouraged, just stop, take a break and think for a while: Where would I go from there? Do I need any more help? Plus many more questions will linger in your head.

So to summarize, learn from the RP and the Fan Fic forum and see if you can write as good as them.

Oh yes, if it goes for reading fanfics, I do it quite a lot. I've been also told I'm pretty good at roleplaying, but the problem is I mostly did it in skype calls in a script format, with a few descriptions here and there, so basically the creative juice is there, but I have trouble squeezing it out.

Yes... Script format. That's where everyone used to start. If you joined in my year, you would probably have witnessed it by now.

I used script format at the beginning as well. Then it was one, two liners, then four.

Before I knew it, I was increasing the amount of words I could write and now, I could potentially in a RP write about 1000 words, 10x what was needed initially.

As for that creative juice of yours: It's a tough one. Even I had a hard time imagining things, but it will come eventually. You could do a mind map of some sort, just so you get the skeleton of what you would wanna write or plan on writing. I rarely do it, but it does help.

It really depends, sometimes I can casually write a few lines each time and script format turns into normal writing from my side, but sometimes I can barely manage a line, guess it's just a case of when I feel like writing and when not.

Another thing I noticed is that when I DO get to writing, I make it longer than it should be, I always go overboard with introductions/descriptions and all of that stuff. Dunno if it's a bad thing, but it always takes me a longer while to get to the main point.

The hardest thing for me when it comes to roleplaying is making posting specifically to prompt other characters to respond, especially when there's nothing happening. I half to powerplay nature or make someone happen with the setting.

How long roughly do you write your posts? Depends on how much free time I have. I try to go for a couple of paragraphs a day or something.

Any upcoming or current projects? Not as far as I know, I have too many ideas as-is

Alright, application granted.

@Klavier: Not sure taking longer to get to the main point is necessarily a bad thing, you could just add some detail into it so people could hardly notice. I've only said this recently, but the longer you write the better. However, I agree with Thar. The hardest thing about Role Playing is posting specifically to prompt one another to respond. I seem to do it fine, fair enough to me but what you should consider is what they're gonna say next. Think ahead of them, not behind them. If you think about what they already said, chances are... It would not suffice.

EDIT: It's about time we nominated a vice president and a secretary. Choose carefully, people.

Yes, take your time. There's no reason to rush anything. Rushing it may only ruin your writing, that's what I believe anyway.

Exactly. I rushed when I wrote FinalfanxMaxxion (took me like 2 hours) and it turned out to me the most mediocre of the lot, not to mention it made a shitstorm that won me 7 warning points and the fics removal.

Holy shit. that's bad. Really bad. How did you react after this I wonder?

The whole ordeal was pretty laughable, tbh. I mean, Maxxion's response was where shit hit the fan, and the purpose of the fic was just to spite him. So in the end, I felt responsible for the purpose, but the outcome was worth it.
