First and foremost, all YCM and RP section rules apply. This means no powerplaying, godmodding, etc. Posts should be of decent length and quality, and you are expected to remain active. You know, all the obvious legal stuff. Second, as the hosts of this RP, CowCow and I have the final say on all decisions. Our word is law in here, in other words. Lastly, Expedition Acahra will be a limited acceptance RP, as it will run best with a smaller number of participants. There are 6 available slots, which will be filled on a quality basis.

As for what this RP entails, it is indeed a pokemon RP, though hopefully its something you haven't seen before. For starters, Expedition Acahra is a PG-16 RP, which means that the plot and events depicted will touch upon more matures themes such as war, corruption, mortality, and morality, and as such you should expect a darker story than you may be used to.  As well, Expedition Acahra will run a little differently than other pokemon roleplays you may have seen before. As the cast advances through the Acahra region, their actions will directly effect the fates of NPCs and the various locales they visit, as well as the outcome of the overall plot. In other words, its similar to a Bethesda RPG like the elder scrolls or fallout.

Pokemon: Expedition Acahra takes place in the Acahra Region, a lawless largely unexplored region in south America that is home to the native Acahi population. The Acahra region is notable for its extremely rough terrain including dense jungles, high mountains, and deserts. As well, the region is known for its abundant natural resources, including rare apricorn trees, lumber, and large reserves of minerals and precious metals, including an abundance of gems from which the Key stones necessary for Mega evolution were thought to have been hewn in ancient times. It is also dotted with the ruins and temples of the ancient Acah civlization, who were known for their technical prowess and mastery over pokemon evolution. The Acahra region is also the location of the Team Rocket expedition that obtained Mew's genetic material, and ultimately led to the creation of Mewtwo. In the intervening time since Team Rocket's expedition, numerous industries have established settlements and mills in the region in order to exploit its natural resources, and their encroachment on the lands of the Acahi people has led to conflict. Over the last six years, this has escalated to low grade conflict, with infrequent skirmishes breaking out between the two groups. As of late, tensions have nearly reached a breaking point, with both sides fully prepared to engage in open warfare.

Twelve years ago, Team Rocket leader Giovanni sponsored an expedition to the Acahra region to search for the genetic material of Mew, thought to be the ancestor of all pokemon. Their efforts ultimately proved fruitful, as they were ultimately successful in cloning Mew. However, Mew's genetic material wasn't the only result of their efforts. Their investigations also yieldedseveral samples of what the Rocket scientists dubbed "Mewite", a mineral with similar properties to the Mega stones found in the Kalos region, from ancient Acah temples. Experimentation on the Mewite samples ultimately allowed Team Rocket to produce two Mega stones that were compatible with their artificial clone of Mew: Mewtwo, though Mewtwo escaped from Team rocket's laboratory before either stone was able to be tested and the creation of the stones ultimatle left a rather small samle of unrefined mewite remaining. With team rocket's subsequent collapse a few years afterward and Giovanni's capture, the remaining Mewite sample was seized along with the rest of Giovanni's assets as he was put on trial for his numerous crimes. As the legal proceedings bogged down and the years wore on, it was largely forgotten.

Fast forward to the present day. In the wake of the near disaster involving team flare in the Kalos region and Kyurem's assault on Unova, the legal proceedings involving the dissolution of team rocket at last finished. Giovanni was found guilty and sentenced, and Team rocket's assets were donated to the public or returned to their rightful owners. It was during this cleaning out that the Mewite was rediscovered and sent to the labs of Professor Rowan of sinnoh, a foremost expert on pokemon evolution. Testing on the Mewite sample revealed it possessed the ability to evolve any species of pokemon it came into physical contact with, though its usefulness was limited by the small size of the sample leaving full extent of its capabilities yet unknown. Naturally, Rowan's discovery of the Mewite's potential created quite a buzz within the scientific community, with professors Juniper and Sycamore collaborating with Rowan on further tests, though the small sample was used up in the process. Luckly for the research team, their findings attracted the attention of Hoenn's Devon corporation, which was highly interested in the Mewite's potential applications. Eager to obtain more samples and further their study, the Research team agreed to a grant from Devon in order to fund an expedition to the Acahra region. However, each expedition proved fruitless, with the regions extremely hostile terrain and political tensions making the acquisition of samples difficult. Worse still, it appeared that another, unknown group was interested in Mewite, and contact was lost with  the expedition team soon after they came under attack from this group.

In the wake of this loss, Devon's liaison to the research team, Marcus Fray, proposed a second expedition, this time composed primarily of experienced, talented pokemon trainers who would be able to better handle the challenges that adventuring in Acahra presented and acquire the necessary samples, while simultaneously being able to better defend themselves from attack. The research team agreed, and thus a second expedition team consisting of 8 experienced Trainers was put together. Their mission: recover additional Mewite samples and ascertain the fate of the previous expedition team.

Your characters will be members of this expedition team, with each character being asked to join the expedition because of their unique skills and specializations, be it battle experience or a more specialized background in archeology, survival, or another field necessary for the team to succeed in their mission.

The Database will be updated and added to as the RP progresses, so check back frequently for updates!
Characterized by their tanned skin and dark hair, the Acahi are the descendants of the ancient Acah empire that once ruled the region. The Acahi have had difficulty balancing their traditional, tribal lifestyle with the advent of modern technology, and this combined with the ever increasing presence of industry in the region has caused a great deal of unrest amongst the Acahi people in recent years.

An extremely rare mineral with a similar appearance to a mega stone, it is capable of inducing evolution in any pokemon it comes in contact with. Mewite was considered highly valuable by the ancient Acah, and as a result the few extant sample sof the mineral can likely be found in Acah ruins.

An ancient civilization that once dominated the Acahra region, they were highly technologically advanced and possessed a mastery over pokemon evolution, as well as apparent knowledge of legendary pokemon including Mew and Victini.

Will make app in the morning. Or now. IDK.
Name: Hannah Strauss
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Trainer class: Hunter
Native Region: Orre
4YGqpRA.jpg
Hannah is 5'3", and weighs 110 lbs.

Hannah is, as shown by her trainer type, a hunter. To her, the process of capturing pokemon is just as exciting as that of training them. While attempting to achieve a goal, such as tracking a wild pokemon in the area, she can be very efficient, tuning everything else out around her so that she can focus on her task at hand. The greatest trouble comes when she is forced to work along with others. It is not because she is argumentative, or the result of any sort of scorn against them. As a matter of fact, she is very kind to those she has not met before. The real reason she has trouble working along with others is because of her chronic shyness. If two options are presented, and another person in the group supports one of them, she will lean toward supporting it as well, even if she knows that it is wrong, because she is terrified of trying to speak out against someone.

Hannah used to be a Hunter on Team Cipher, but peft shortly before it disbanded. She crossed the ocean to the Kalos region, where she managed to catch 2 other pokemon, before being recruited to the Acahra Expedition due to her hunting expertise. Hoping to use the Expedition as a chance to advance her goal of catching the most powerful pokemon (pseudo-legendaries) she jumps at the chance presented.

Name: Dragunov
Species: Garchomp
Gender: Male
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Rough Skin
Outrage

Shadow Claw

Crunch

Dragon Rush

Dig

Fire Fang
Held Item: Rocky Helmet
Personality/description: After leaving Team Cypher, Dragunov was the first pokemon Hannah caught, though it was only a Gabite at the time. He acts as a perfect model of the sort of pokemon that Hannah wants: fast, ferocious, and incredibly powerful. It was this pokemon that inspired Hannah to embark on her quest to capture each of the most powerful pokemon that populates this world. Dragunov has a habit of acting out, occasionally not completely obeying his trainer, but even so, he is incredibly protective of Hannah.

Name: Razor

Species: Yanmega
Gender: Male
Nature: Rash
Ability: Speed Boost
Bug Buzz

Air Slash

Night Slash

Giga Drain

Protect

Pursuit
Held Item: Life Orb

Personality/description: Razor has been under Hannah's ownership since her time at Cypher, and he was also her first pokemon, trained by her since he was a Yanma. Over the years, Razor has come to understand Hannah's own 'careful nature' and has made efforts to reverse this through his own recklessness. Having incredibly high speed, and being larger and heavier than her herself, Razor is also Hannah's primary mode of transportation, flying above and around obstacles that would be insurmountable to her otherwise.

Name: Anthrax
Species: Dragalge
Gender: Female
Nature: Modest
Ability: Adaptability
Sludge Bomb

Dragon Pulse

Toxic Spikes

Hydro Pump

Smokescreen

Venoshock
Held Item: Dragon Fang
Personality/description: Anthrax is much less outgoing than the rest of Hannah's team, preferring to hide rather than hunt. Hannah did not originally intend to catch a Dragalge, but upon seeing one while swimming, she foolishly mistook Anthrax for a Hydreigon. Hannah's early attempts to capture her were unsuccessful, so even after realizing that the pokemon was no on the list of what she planned to catch, she continued tracking the Dragalge until she managed to add her to her team.

Name: Divebomb
Species: Gliscor
Gender: Male
Nature: Impish
Ability: Poison Heal
Roost

Knock Off

Acrobatics

Fury Cutter

Guillotine

Taunt
Held Item: Toxic Orb
Personality/description: The second of two pokemon that Hannah brought along from Cypher, Divebomb has a habit of trying to fool others, and causes trouble whenever possible. It is because of this that Hannah keeps him inside his pokeball whenever possible, simply so that she can preserve her own sanity. Despite the tricks, Divebomb knows that Hannah wishes to separate herself from her past, and that she is afraid of socialization, so he tries to push her forward through life, just as Razor does.

All the typical potions and such

Pokedex, with additional functionality of detecting nearby pokemon, for use in hunting and tracking.

Survival kit, including magnesium flint-stick, steel folding hunting knife, and water filtration bottle, among other things.

5 Quick Balls (the pokeball with 5x catch rate if used on first turn)

3 Timer Balls (the pokeball that gets better the longer the battle has gone)

Hannah is both a hunter and a tracker, so she is capable of surviving in the wilderness for extended times and picking up on tracks that others would not notice.
Name: Zack Ultin
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Trainer class: Burglar (Er, treasure hunter)
Native Region: Sinnoh
CGvLbeo.jpg

Strongly optimistic, Zack doesn't want to give up on anyone or anything. He refuses to believe that anyone can't be saved until they reach a certain point of horrible. In that case he will do whatever he can to stop them if he can. He fancies himself a treasure hunter, and is obsessed with finding anything rare and expensive. However he doesn’t mind taking these things from other people. He only won’t steal if that person needs it to survive, are poor, or its a treasured item for reason other than appearance or value.
Friendly in nature; many people seem to think well of Zack, as long as he hasn’t robbed them of course. When a situation arrises he’s the first to try and help, sometimes by taking charge himself. Plenty of others he had met over the years seem to see him as a leader and look towards him for guidance, though he has troubles seeing himself in any leading position.
Zack blames himself for other's mistakes often. If a friend gets into trouble or messes up while with Zack, he can't help but blame himself and think he should've done more to prevent it.

Zack was born in Celestic Town, where he was raised by a simple carpenter for many years. His life was fairly uninteresting, but good. He was friends with all the kids, and was thought of as the leader of the youngsters, even the often picked on Sein. He latched onto Sein and protected him. Though he couldn’t protect the boy from Sein’s father, who often hurt him. One day, when they were both 13, a strange man entered the town and attacked it, seemingly after some sort of ancient artifact the mayor owned. Sein, an oddly gifted trainer for his age, decided to help the man for reasons unknown. The man was beaten however, by an equally mysterious officer who had been chasing after him. This was not before Sein’s father was killed in the battle by the mysterious criminal. Sein was let off the hook due to his age, however everyone in the city shunned him and he was forced to leave. Zack followed with and promised to stick with him, knowing he must have had some reason for his actions.
Zack took to thievery fast, and quickly became an expert. He and Sein were a powerful team (including some mercenary work) with Zack’s skills and Sein’s intelligence and strategy, for several years until Sein vanished one night.
Zack continued on his own, traveling and finding many artifacts and treasures along the way. Most of the money not used to travel and survive was stored away in secret locations, to be used at a later date to create a facility to raise abandoned children and Pokemon.
Heard a rumor from one of his many friends over the world that Sein was spotted in the Acahra region and so he put himself forth to join the expedition and was accepted.

Name: Yang
Species: Ninjask
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Infiltrator
Moves: Substitute, X-Scissor, Sand Attack, Screech, Aerial Ace, Double Team
Held Item: Bright Powder
Personality/Description:  Nincada was Zack’s first Pokemon, who he found injured and abandoned by his former trainer. The Shedinja that came from Nincada’s evolution is owned by Sein. Is a friendly and hyper-active bug who likes to try and cuddle. Is good at getting places he's not supposed to be.

Name: Requiem
Species: Dusknoir
Gender: Male
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Pressure
Moves: Rest, Shadow Punch, Will-O-Wisp, Pursuit, Confuse Ray, Ice Punch
Held Item: Leftovers
Personality/Description: Was once Sein's Pokemon, Zack traded his Kadabra for it. Casper is very lazy, and takes a while to listen to people. The only one he always listens to is Sein, though he’s gotten used to following Zack’s orders. Will sometimes ignore him.

Name: Fern
Species: Leafeon
Gender: Female
Nature: Naive
Ability: Leaf Guard
Moves:  Leaf Blade, Synthesis, Swords Dance, Quick Attack, Iron Tail, Return
Held Item: Miracle Seed (worn as a necklace)
Personality/Description: Fern is part of a set of twins, Sein owning the other which turned into Glaceon. She is, by Pokemon standards, a beautiful girl and many males tend to like her. Though she has no idea what's going on. Often lost in thought.

Name: Jingle
Species: Klefki
Gender: Genderless
Nature: Impish
Ability: Prankster
Moves: Spikes, Mirror Shot, Foul Play, Reflect, Light Screen, Fairy Wind
Held Item: Magnet (always stuck to it, written on it is ”Named Jingle, if found return to Zack”)
Personality/Description: Jingle was thrown away by its owner, a rich kid that was given it for his birthday and tossed it because it “was just a stupid key, that’s idiotic”. Zack took care of it and raised it as his own. Loves causing mischief whenever it can and often gets lost.

Name: Fiesta
Species: Maractus
Gender: Male
Nature: Modest
Ability: Water Absorb
Moves: Petal Dance, Giga Drain, Cotton Guard, Sucker Punch, Hidden Power (Ice), Leech Seed
Held Item: Persim Berry (Zack keeps a lot of these on hand)
Personality/Description: Fiesta loves to dance, and will do so at any opportunity. Though he doesn’t think he’s very good so doesn’t quite like doing it unless in battle (Petal Dance) or without many around. However he is very good in reality.

Name: Kit
Species: Zoroark
Gender: Female
Nature: Timid
Ability: Illusion
Moves: Night Daze, Flamethrower, U-Turn, Focus Blast, Scary Face, Embargo
Held Item: BlackGlasses
Personality/Description: Kit was found by Zack being assaulted by a mob of townsfolk who claimed it was the cause of a bunch of troubles the town was having. It later was found to be the fault of a mad scientist and his Ditto, who Zack stopped, and then took Kit in as his own. She is horrible around other people and Pokemon, besides Zack and his team. However she has a fierce side that comes out very rarely. Is more confident when wearing her sunglasses, which Zack have to her as a Zorua and told her they have magic power.

A photo album half full of pictures he and Sein took over their travels.

Lock picks and other such “tools of the trade".

Carving knife and an assortement of self-made wooden Pokemon figures

Zack has great reflexes and has amazing perception and skill for finding hidden items, traps, doors, and other such things. Calls himself a treasure hunter but he has the skills of a thief.

Thinks of Sein as his brother, and will refer to him as such.

Name: Tayla Lider
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Trainer class: Ace Trainer/Scientist mix
Native Region: Orre

TaylaLiderHuman_zps91b59c44.png
She has a simple appearance. Dark-brown straight hair that reaches a few inches past the base of her neck. Brownish-grey eyes that seem to hide out-of-place aged wisdom behind a pair of wire-framed glasses. Slightly-tanned skin around her face and hands, though everywhere else seems pale. She wore a black turtleneck-style shirt and black pants over black sneakers. Despite her age, she was barely a B-cup when it came to breast size and wasn't exactly the curviest girl in the world...nor did she care.

Tayla is on a mission for prevention. After the massive fiascos that were the two Shadow Pokemon invasions caused by both Team Cipher and Team Snag'Em, she has been trying to figure out a way to make sure such can't happen again. There's only one path she's figured out so far...and she doesn't like it. She is calculating when she's figuring out her next action, though she is not emotionless or cold. In fact, it is her fear over the Legendaries losing themselves due to human intervention that has her on the course to control or replace the existing Legendaries that could be used against the Earth itself, trying to capture their DNA to create altered clones of the originals or make specific mind-control devices for the ones that seem irreplaceable. She is actually caring toward Pokemon in general, and hates seeing them harmed, even during combat. Sure, she can make herself momentarily cold and heartless when she needs to, but it all winds up hitting her hard once she drops the charade and is alone. She has been described as 'wise beyond her years', though she is not sure why that is. She agreed to join this expedition to both hopefully acquire her own stash of Mew DNA, even if she has to have Rna's help to do so, as well as acquire her own stash of the fabled Mewite for her own research.

Oddly enough, there wasn't anything really impressive or noticeable about her past. The only things truly of note were the pair of sequences involving a pair of teams using weaponized Pokemon at different times to try and conquer the world...and almost becoming one of the many murdered by the now-legendary Shadow Lugia.

In hopes to possibly prevent another instance of Shadow Pokemon being made out of Pokemon in general, expecially Legendaries, she went heavily into researching Pokemon Genetics and Mechanics, hoping to create the tools needed to protect the gods...or if needed, overthrow them.

She didn't actually have any Pokemon until she was about 20...and even then, she made her first Pokemon. Cysero the Porygon-Z, complete with the alterations he had. With the help of the quirky prankster, Tayla gained five other allies in the fight against the gods, each with their own purpose in her little team.

During the following six years, she managed to gather the DNA of some of the lesser Legendaries, such as Shaymin, Cresselia, Darkrai, Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit, but she has not yet managed to find any of the major Legendaries to strike at yet. Due to her intense dedication to her self-given task, a group of people approached her in hopes for her aid in their future task. She agreed to help more so she hopefully find the key needed to make sure the dreaded Shadow Pokemon can never be made into reality again. Especially since, as she has noticed from the few others she's seen with Mega Pokemon, trainer and Pokemon have to truly be in since with one another....

Species: Porygon-Z
Gender: Genderless/Masculine
Ability: Download
Nature: Quirky
Moves: Tri-Attack, Signal Beam, Discharge, Recover, Hidden Power, Wonder Room
Personality: Cysero is one massive prankster, almost always stirring up trouble for someone. Cysero is also programmed by Tayla to not give two shits about others when in a battle, so if there's a fight going against one and you see him smirking...RUN! NO ONE will like the end result! So far, oddly enough, it hasn't figured out the difference between Tayla and Rna!Tayla yet...
Extras: Cysero had injected into its coding a special program that altered how its Download abliity works, changing it to not only adjust his Atk and Sp. Atk strength, but also identify the biggest type weakness of a foe and change the element of its Hidden Power attack accordingly. Cysero came into existance as a Porygon-Z, so it never went through the Porygon/Porygon2 stages...

Species: Ditto
Gender: Genderless/Feminine
Ability: Imposter
Nature: Calm
Moves: Transform
Personality: Rna is not one that tends to question her trainer's occasionally-questionable tactics, since she knows that they are often for the benefit of Pokemon such as herself. On rare occasions, when she's had enough of Cysero however, she will morph into Tayla's form and command the Porygon-Z to stop whatever it's doing.
Extras: Rna is trained to not revert back to normal after falling unconscious. She is also skilled in identifying disguised Pokemon, whether it'd be by Transformation or Illusion.

Species: Smeargle
Gender: Male
Ability: Own Tempo
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Foresight, Grasswhistle, Heal Pulse, Aromatherapy, False Swipe, Sketch
Personality: This guy loves to paint on anything and everything, which has had Tayla shell out funds for destruction of property because of Spellthief. He is often seen with a set of headphones that, while they let him hear what's going on around him, also allow him to listen to various songs, which seems to help curb his painting habit...
Extras: Spellthief 'captures' moves for later study, with himself acting as the baseline when comparing how powerful each different move is. He's familiar with how a lot of moves work, even after he's forgotten how to use the actual moves himself. Foresight also seems to mirror the ability to see the world's Aura, though Tayla doesn't know this...

Species: Magnezone
Gender: Genderless/Masculine
Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Bold
Moves: Magnet Rise, Thunderbolt, Magnet Bomb, Rain Dance, Mirror Coat, Barrier
Personality: If it can take the hit, it will take the hit. He is more mechanical in mindset than the goofy Cysero, whom is often assumed by the Magnezone to have bad or corrupted programming. He's more like a drone: Tell him to do something and he will do it. Tayla did not program him to be like this, either.
Extras: The dedicated tank of the team. Outside of a few types, Battery is often the first one sent out to draw fire as the others get into position.

Species: Castform
Gender: Female
Ability: Forecast
Nature: Quiet
Moves: Hail, Sandstorm, Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Weather Ball, Ominous Wind
Personality: Despite the lack of voice, Predict is rather-expressive with her weather manipulation, the weather often matching her current mood. She can also create natural sculptures with focused weather-manipulation, which eventually led to the creation of 'water crystals', gems made out of water that will never melt.
Extras: Predict has learned how to work around Sandstorm to reduce the amount of damage taken during the weather condition, which has led to the discovery of a new weather-based form for her. Sandstorm (Rock-type) form Predict is also strangely-mute.

Species: Rapidash
Gender: Male
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Adamant
Moves: Agility, Flame Charge, Bounce, Megahorn, Wild Charge, Strength
Personality: Once the Fire Horse has made up its mind, there is no changing it on Ferdinand's part, not even by Tayla's command. However, this determination to see things through has been a key part in some of the successes the hunter has had so far against some of the legends.
Extras: Ferdinand is Tayla's primary chaser when having to run after various Legendaries that have taken to trying to escape from her. He has also learned how to use Flame Charge without harming Tayla if she's still on his back during the move. From an OOC-standpoint, Ferdinand is named after a famous racing horse that wound up suffering a rather-cruel death.

~TM-?? (Sketch): Usable only on Smeargle, replaces a known move with Sketch.
~DNA Scanner: On her right wrist, she has a device that can be used to scan and record DNA to be studied at a later point of time after launching miniature drones that attach to the Pokemon that's to be scanned. She often used such knowledge to better study Pokemon and figure out what others couldn't figure out from observation or experimentation alone. One time, she got really-confusing results after she accidentally hit a human in the back when she missed her target. She is still not sure how a human could have both human and Pokemon DNA as well as trace strands of something else the machine almost broke trying to correctly record. Shame she didn't get a good look at the guy...

She is a skilled builder for technology and knowledgeable in the field of cloning. In regards to programming, Cysero is the whiz at such. Often times, she can tell him the core of what she wishes the program to do as well as additional aspects before the Porygon-Z creates the program and implants it upon a zip-drive for later use. All devices she makes have a USB port for zip-drives because of this.

Theme Song: Within Temptation - Our Solumn Hour

Things to Know: Tayla is near-sighted. She's screwed if she loses her glasses. She also sounds a lot like the lead singer in the above video.

Reserving Magnezone, Manectric, Rotom, Amphoros, Galvantula and Heliolisk for my trainer's team of mons. I'll work on him now so that reserve isn't made in vain

That said, I don't mind seeing one of these Pokemon in another team... so long as the others are completely different :/
Name: Jase Vestal
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Trainer Class: Soldier
Native Region: Unova
a992769a35f6ac4236228717dbea25988d9bdc9a

Jase stands at a relatively average height for someone his age, that being 178cm (5' 10"), and his moderately small frame puts him at a weight of 68kg (150lbs). His Mega Bracelet can be found on his left wrist, which seems to imply that he's left-handed. However, although this is mostly correct, Jase does have traces of ambidexterity; it's just that the first hand he thinks to do something with is his left one. Jase has multiple feminine features to his body that ultimately make him androgynous in appearance, including his eyes, hands, face and especially the style of his hair, which he has tied in a ponytail that falls down towards the shoulder blades, whilst the two bangs on either side only extend to the neck. This in turn leaves most people confusing Jase for a girl; an issue that his voice has no implications of solving.
First Aid Kit: Jammed packed with all sorts of things, ranging from medicinal herbs and berries and potions to things that're actually supposed to be kept in a first aid kit such as bandages. It takes up the most space in Jase's backpack as a result.

Handheld Radios: There's enough of these things for everyone, just in case each of the trainers goes in his or her separate ways. That way, the entire expedition team can keep in contact with each other... provided that no-one leaves one in a silly place.

Stating what pokemon you intend to use is fine, but if someone wants to use mons that you have on your team then they are free to do so. Though overlap is boring so i 'd rather it didn't happen
Zane_Scalind_headshot.jpg

"..."

Name: Zane Scalind

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Trainer class: Ace Trainer

Native Region: Kanto (Sevii Isles)
Zane_Scalind.jpg

Zane stands at 5'11". He's thin, but not overly so, and has fairly broad shoulders for his size. He's well toned and in excellent shape thanks both to the large amount of traveling on foot he does as well as the daily training regimen he puts himself and his pokemon through. As is typical of an experienced, traveled trainer, Zane sports a rather weathered look. His long, sun-bleached hair is almost always messy (thanks in no small part to his hat), his clothes are a bit threadbare and worn, and he has a light tan due to spending his childhood on Floe Island and seeing a lot of sun in general. Though he does carry a badge case for each regional set of badges he has earned, Zane likes to pin his favorite 3 badges from each region he has visited on the inside of his jacket, both to demonstrate to others that he has traveled throughout the world and as mementos of his previous challenges. He wears Unova's Insect badge, Jet badge and Legend badge, Kanto's Boulder badge, Volcano badge, and Earth badge, and Johto's Plain badge, Mineral badge, and Rising Badge this way. Zane's speech is peppered with the vernacular of a stereotypical surfer, a somewhat unfortunate consequence of his early childhood on Four Island, as some people occasionally have a hard time understanding him.

A product of both his island upbringing and his time spent traveling throughout the world, Zane is carefree and easygoing, as well as warm, friendly, and genuine, yet at the same time he has a rather intense, competitive side, and sometimes acts or speaks without thinking first. Zane generally acts in an open, friendly manner, and though he can be a bit oblivious or inconsiderate when something has grabbed his attention, for the most part he's always partial to a conversation or social interaction in general. In simpler terms, Zane loves to be around people and Pokemon, and much prefers the company of others to being by himself. In addition to his sociability, Zane is unabashedly warm and genuine. He's always the first person to attempt to befriend someone new, and he is never unwilling to offer his advice, sympathy, or company when he feels someone could use it. This is especially true regarding Pokemon, and it cold even be said Zane has a talent for befriending them. Zane is also very open with his own feelings, never shying away from expressing exactly how he feels about a subject, though he sometimes  offends others when he does so, intentionally or not. Zane is also rather physical, having little regard for personal space when showing affection, often giving others taps on the shoulders or hugs.

Though Zane's demeanor is usually calm and mellow, he has a more fierce, emotional side to his personality as well, which usually displays itself during periods of physical or emotional intensity, for instance during a Pokemon battle. Zane is extremely competitive, and will go to great lengths to both improve himself and prove to others that he is capable of victory. Though he is by no means quick to anger (in fact the exact opposite is true), Zane is capable of severe outbursts when sufficiently provoked, in stark contrast to his otherwise warm personality. This is made all the worse by his physicality, as well as Zane's emotional openness. In other words, when Zane's mad, you'll know it, as he'll often throw punches, and his lack of a filter means he can be particularly hurtful when he's angry. Luckily however, this is a rare occurrence, and Zane in fact has a remarkably high degree of self control regarding his anger.

Zane spent most of his early childhood in the Sevii islands, living with his mother and father in the rather isolated town of Four Island. Growing up in a small island town meant that Zane had few other children his age to play with, and as a result he often entertained himself by playing and swimming in the ocean when he was young, and Zane has been an excellent swimmer ever since. When he was 6 years old, he was given the egg that would subsequently hatch into his Charmander, Tobias, by Four Island's Pokemon Daycare couple. After hatching, Toby became Zane's constant companion, traveling everywhere with the young boy and growing up alongside him, with Tobias's overly physical and friendly personality mirroring Zane's own.

When he was eleven, Zane's family moved to far-away Aspertia city in Unova. Being the new kid in a much larger city was understandably a little rough for Zane, but thankfully Zane's athleticism and friendly nature (as well as that of his ever-present Charmander) helped him make a few close friends: Desmond, an athletic, friendly boy who was in many ways similar to Zane, Andrew, who was brash, blunt, and had a penchant for getting into fights, and Erin, a smart, thoughtful girl who enjoyed painting in her spare time, often using the ever-cooperative (so long as he was given a poffin afterward) Tobias as her subject. Despite their differing personalities and social cliques, the four remained remarkably close-knit as they grew up.

When they were 14, the four children were given Pokedexes by Unova's resident Professor, Juniper, and set out on their journeys at the same time. Unlike Desmond, Andrew, and Erin, who each received an Oshwalot, Tepig, and Snivy, respectively, Zane opted to take Tobias as his starter Pokemon instead. Though the group rather quickly went their separate ways, they managed to keep in frequent contact as they journeyed across Unova. Zane and Erin sought to collect all of Unova's Gym badges while Desmond became interested in the life of a Pokemon Ranger, and Andrew took more of an interest in Virbank city's Pokestar studios and dedicated himself to finding the perfect Pokemon to cast in a screenplay.  Due to their similar goals, Zane and Erin developed a rivalry during their journey across Unova, their shared destinations causing them to meet up more often than the others and giving rise to numerous battles.

By the end of their first year and a half, Erin and Zane had earned 8 badges and participated in that year's Unova Pokemon league tournament (with Erin's Serperior narrowly defeating Zane's Charizard in the fourth round) while Andrew was busying himself preparing for the premier of his first movie and Desmond had apprenticed himself to Unova's Ranger Union. After attending the premier and the subsequent festivities, the four met in Undella Town for one last celebratory get-together before splitting up to follow their own paths. Andrew elected to remain in Unova while Desmond opted to travel to far-away Almia to further his career as a prospective ranger, and Erin chose to travel to Sinnoh, attracted by the news of Team Galactic's activities and the recent appearance of legendary pokemon in the region. Zane, after some soul searching, opted to travel back to his native Kanto and challenge the Indigo League, something he'd dreamed of doing since he was a young boy on the beaches of Four Island. The group's parting was bitter-sweet, with each holding back tears knowing it'd be a long time before they saw the others again.

It was in Kanto that Zane began to truly come into his own as a trainer, developing and honing his training method as well as perfecting his battle strategy: a distinctive blend of a strong offense and unorthodox use of moves, exemplified by Tobias's adaptive use of the move Steel Wing for both off-type offense and as a defensive shield. Zane spent another year and a half traveling through Kanto, earning his badges and focusing more on training and building his team than he had in Unova. During this time, Zane befriended Mr. Fuji, the operator of Lavender town's Pokemon house. Zane spent a good deal of his off time volunteering there, his warm personality allowing him to connect with and befriend many of the Pokemon at the shelter, in particular a male Nidoran named Maximilian, whom Zane would ultimately adopt with Fuji's blessing. After earning his final Kanto gym badge, Zane entered in Kanto's Indigo League tournament. Though he did extremely well, he was not able to earn an invitation to challenge the Indigo League's Elite Four.

A bit deflated, Zane decided to travel to the neighboring Johto region to hone his skills further. While in Vermillion city awaiting the ferry however, he had a chance run in with the Indigo champion, Lance, and upon recognizing him Zane was quick to challenge the dragon master to a battle. Lance, apparently entertained by Zane's forwardness, accepted on the condition that both trainers use only their Charizards in the contest. Despite Zane and Tobias putting up a valiant effort, they were quickly and soundly defeated. Still, their efforts had impressed the champion enough for him to give them words of advice and encouragement and a sincere promise of a rematch should they cross paths again. Reinvigorated, Zane made his way to Johto for his second shot at the Indigo League.

Having built on the lessons learned in Unova and Kanto, Zane's journey through Johto saw the fruits of his previous labors. Zane conquered Johto's rather odd assortment of gyms swiftly, even gaining a small fan following on the professional battle circuit after a breathtaking 6 Pokemon sweep by Tobias against Olivine Gym leader Jasmine went viral. Zane spent roughly a year in Johto, and was in Blackthorn city awaiting his final Gym challenge when he heard the news about the near-annihilation of the Kalos region by Team Flare. After a hard-won victory against Blackthorn Gym leader Claire, Zane spent the next two months wandering Johto and training in preparation for the upcoming Indigo league. Upon Zane's arrival at Indigo Plateau however, he was surprised to be greeted by a familiar face: Erin, who had entered the same tournament through Kanto's Gym badges.

After an elated, tearful reunion, both trainers got to catching up, each one sharing the stories of their adventures over the past few years, and comparing notes on the experiences they'd shared, both together and separately on their respective ways through Kanto. Despite the friendly nature of their meeting, seeing each other again unexpectedly after so long ignited many emotions in both trainers. Surprise at how much the other had changed, as well as how much they hadn't, the happiness that comes with seeing an old friend once again, and wonder at the other trainer's new Pokemon. Of course, meeting n battle during the tournament was on both friends' minds as well, with Zane eager to avenge his loss in Unova and Erin just as eager to remain the superior trainer.

The awaited rematch came late in the tournament, during the seventh round. Though both trainers brought everything they had to the table, it ultimately came down to a repeat of their last battle in Unova: Erin's Serperior vs. Zane's Charizard. Despite the type advantage, Tobias had lost that clash more than two years prior, and indeed this time Erin's starter proved just as difficult an adversary. However, despite the difficulty, Tobias managed to pull through and deliver a critical Fire punch at a crucial point int he battle, netting Zane the victory. Despite her loss, Erin remained at Indigo to cheer on Zane as he fought his way to the final round, where he was defeated in a close match. On his way out of the stadium after the match, Zane was approached by a representative of Devon corporation, who offered him a position on the expedition. Despite the danger involved, Zane was persuaded by the opportunity to experience a new region and the extremely generous sum of pokedollars he was offered, and accepted.

The night after the closing ceremonies wrapped up, Zane and Erin met outside the stadium to say goodbye to each other once again. Zane informed Erin of his intention to travel to Acahra with the Devon expedition, and despite her concern, Erin wished him the best of luck. However, Acahra was soon forgotten when Erin brandished the pokeball containing Camille, her Frosslass and one of her favorite pokemon, placing it in Zane's hand.  "So you don't forget about me while you're gone." Zane was surprised by the gift, but a reassuring smile convinced him to take the pokemon with him. With a hug, the two departed, Zane for Acahra, Erin for Johto, with Zane only noticing the Bloom mail the Frosslass carried after boarding the Vermillion Ferry.

Name: Tobias "Toby"

Species: Charizard

Gender: Male

Nature: Jolly, Proud of its Power

Ability: Blaze

Moves: Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Flare Blitz, Dragon Dance, Fire Punch, Steel Wing

Held Item: Muscle Band

Personality/description: Tobias is Zane's first pokemon and has been with him since he was seven years old, long before he was a pokemon trainer. The unwanted offspring of a Charizard and a Dragonite, Tobias was given to Zane as an egg by the Day Care couple of Four Island, who were family friends. Since hatching, Tobias has been Zane's constant companion, traveling everywhere he goes and often staying outside of his pokeball. Toby is an extrovert, almost constantly attempting to make friends or interact with others at every opportunity. Like his trainer, he's generally warm-hearted, and for a pokemon of his rather violent species Toby is uncharacteristically friendly and carefree. However, like most of his species Toby legitimately enjoys battle, and fights tend to bring out his more competitive side. He shares a friendly rivalry with Zane's Electabuzz, Axel, as both have been team members for years and both prefer to use their elemental punches in battle. Due to his parentage, Toby is a lighter shade of orange than a normal Charizard, though this is only really noticeable when standing near another member of his species. He wears a muscle band on his right arm.

Name: Axel

Species: Electabuzz

Gender: Male

Nature: Rash, Alert to sounds

Ability: Static

Moves: Thunder punch, Thunderbolt, Swift, Thunder Wave, Focus Blast, Psychic

Held Item: Eviolite

Personality/description: The first pokemon Zane ever captured, and another pokemon that is almost constantly in his lineup, Axel tends to be Zane's lead pokemon in battles due to his brute strength and powerful special attack. Brutish, quick to anger, and extremely competitive, Axel always seems to be spoiling for a fight or a contest, and is eager to prove his strength. Of course, this disposition means that he doesn't always get along well with other pokemon, though since evolving from an Elekid and spending more time around the rest of Zane's pokemon, Axel has calmed down significantly. He shares a friendly rivalry with Tobias, since both pokemon have been teammates for years and both prefer to use their elemental punches in battle. Axel wears an eviolite around his neck on a chain.

 • Zane is a distant cousin of the Sunnyshore City Gym leader, Volkner. The two aren't particularly close, though Zane sometimes contacts his more experienced cousin for advice regarding pokemon training, especially involving his electric type Electabuzz. Zane plans to challenge Volkner on his way through Sinnoh, which is his next destination after the expedition is over.
 • Having grown up on a tropical island, Zane is an excellent swimmer, and is adept at most watersports, especially surfing.
 • Zane makes a habit of training alongside his Pokemon almost daily: exercising with them as a group and taking a very hands-on approach to training in general.
 • Being far more focused on training the Pokemon he has as opposed to acquiring new ones, Zane has caught relatively few Pokemon in his career. To date, the total number of Pokemon Zane has caught or otherwise obtained is 24, a rather small number for a trainer with his level of experience.

Age: 23
Trainer Class: Soldier
Native Region: Unova

Just making sure. There's no way your character would have actually been in the war at that age. Due to the timeline, even if the war was only 1 year before the game where Surge is a Gym Leader (which likely it had been before then) your character would only be 16. Most likely even younger.

If that's not the idea, sorry, just making sure you know this. ^^

Also would like to remind people, limited acceptance, 6 will be chosen. And it's not first come first serve. We want to make sure the group works well.

That's... something I didn't know, actually. Didn't get much from Surge's bio, but that may've been because I skimmed it

I'll bump Jase's age to 26 then. That should put him in the 18-19 range during said time period instead.

EDIT: Actually, 27. That way I have 3 possible ages :)
nmx7gp.png

"My name's Sid...I mean, his name's Sid, I'm Maks."

Personal Information:

Name: Maksim "Maks" Chmerkovskiy

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Native Region: Johto Region
2008xi.jpg

Maks is quite the tall individual, standing at 6'2". He has a healthy, semi-muscular build and weighs around 200lbs. He has a number of scratches and scars on his body from the regular life of an adventurer and Pokemon Trainer. In particular, Maks has a nasty scar on his left shoulder.

Maks is quite the outdoors-man. Spending most of his time hiking, fishing, camping, etc, he has amassed quite the useful skill set as an adventurer and Pokemon Trainer. He is completely at home in the wilderness and probably gets along better with wild Pokemon than with people.

That isn't to say that he isn't friendly, because he is, it's just he is a bit shy and awkward around new people. He is particular anxious around women, suffering from a mild form of gynophobia. When in conversation with women he often blushes and becomes flustered, adopting a slight stutter and inability to look them in the eye. The only exception to this is during a Pokemon battle. He does not view his opponents as male or female, but simply as opponents, causing his anxiety to melt away.

Maks doesn't particularly like to catch Pokemon, and will only do so if the Pokemon agrees to be his partner. He suffers from an acute form of claustrophobia, and as such couldn't possibly imagine confining a Pokemon to a cramped space such as a Pokeball against their will. Additionally, he would never force a Pokemon to battle for him, if it didn't want to.

This amazing respect for Pokemon fosters an impressive relationship with his own team of Pokemon. They, in turn, respect and even idolize their trainer and would be willing to do most anything for him.

Maks received his first Pokemon, a Totodile, at the age of 12 from the local professor. Young and enthralled with the idea of Pokemon battles, he was immediately off-put because his newly obtained Pokemon, whom he had named Sid, didn't seem in the least bit interested in battling. Instead, Sid enjoyed horseplay and pulling pranks. For awhile, Maks continued to try and get Sid to battle for you, but the Totodile remained as resistant as ever. It wasn't until the age of 14, that Maks realized he couldn't wait for Sid to find his battling spirit, so he struck off on his Pokemon adventure.

However, instead of falling in love with Pokemon battles, Maks found himself perfectly content exploring the lands of the Johto Region. Every once and awhile he would stop to battle a gym or a trainer, but as a whole, he found adventuring and traveling with his Pokemon to be much more enjoyable than pitting them against other trainers. He began to test the limits of his, and his Pokemon's, abilities, hiking through some of the most treacherous terrain across all of the regions.

He has encountered many important people and rare Pokemon through his travels, even sighting a few Legendary Pokemon, but he hasn't ever had the opportunity to explore Acahra. This is a new challenge that he is eager to face!
Practical Information:

Trainer Class: Backpacker

250px-158Totodile.png

Sid is constantly getting into trouble. He loves to play goofy pranks and act like a nut-ball. This often causes Maks a great deal of embarrassment. Sid enjoys poking fun at his trainer more than anything else, of course, it is all done with love.

Species: Totodile

Gender: Male

Ability: Torrent

Nature: Naughty

Moves: Flail, Ice Fang, Bite, Water Gun, Surf, Return

Held Item: Focus Sash

250px-123Scyther.png

Leonidas often acts like he is too cool for everyone else. He tries to appear like he is removed from the situation, but, secretly, always stays close enough to feel included. Leonidas is an incredibly competitive Pokemon and doesn't like to back down from a challenge. It took Maks several weeks to earn his respect.

Species: Scyther

Gender: Male

Ability: Steadfast

Nature: Adamant

Moves: X-Scissor, Slash, Air Slash, Night Slash, Agility, Sword Dance

Held Item: Metal Coat

250px-093Haunter.png

Piper is Sid's partner in crime. She loves to terrify Pokemon and humans alike, but especially her trainer. Occasionally, her jokes prove to get a little out of hand, but she doesn't mean any real harm. She usually feels pretty guilty when a prank goes awry and does her best to remedy the situation. She is Maks' only female Pokemon, on his team, and occasionally gets flirtatious with some of Maks' other Pokemon.

Species: Haunter

Gender: Female

Ability: Levitate

Nature: Impish

Moves: Hypnosis, Lick, Nightmare, Dream Eater, Hex, Will-o-Wisp

Held Item: n/a

250px-411Bastiodon.png

Brutus is a beat of a lumbering dunce. During the Fossil Restoration process, an anomaly occurred that tampered with his central nervous system, making him react to outside stimuli at an even slower rate than normal. As a result, Brutus' original trainer abandoned him. Maks took him in and nurtured him. Despite his dulled reflexes and mental challenges, Brutus is able to fulfill his role as a wall in Maks' team quite nicely, and is glad to have a place that he belongs. He is generally always happy, but isn't too social. He is content to watch from the sidelines. Should a person or Pokemon directly address him, he tends to hide behind Maks.

Species: Bastiodon

Gender: Male

Ability: Sturdy

Nature: Gentle

Moves: Heavy Slam, Metal Burst, Ancient Power, Metal Sound, Earthquake, Fissure

Held Item: Leftovers

250px-631Heatmor.png

Vulcan is most like Maks, in terms of temperament. Like his trainer, Vulcan quickly becomes embarrassed around female Pokemon and is easily flustered. This usually manifests itself as clumsiness and absentmindedness. He especially suffers from battle example, which has caused him more than one battle.

Species: Heatmor

Gender: Male

Ability: Flash Fire

Nature: Bashful

Moves: Inferno, Flamethrower, Aerial Ace, Dig, Bind, Bug Bite

Held Item: n/a

250px-236Tyrogue.png

Tyrogue is the only member of Maks' team that does not have a nickname. He is oddly mute and avoids interaction with all other Pokemon and people. He is a quick and vicious fighter, and returns to his PokeBall as soon as his battle is over. He is also the newest addition to Maks' team, and he is trying to get the Pokemon to warm up to him, but is having very little luck.

Species: Tyrogue

Gender: Male

Ability: Steadfast

Nature: Lonely

Moves: Tackle, Helping Hand, Foresight, Fake Out, Brick Break, Hi Jump Kick
Maks has two other Pokemon not featured on his team: Archimedes(Noctowl) and Belle(Miltank)

> PokeDex

> Super Rod

> Escape Rope x5

> PokeBall x3

Maks is a seasoned traveler and survivalist. He has camped in and hiked through just about every terrain and condition known to Pokemon and man. He isn't too great in caves, but otherwise, you couldn't have a better outdoors-man. He is skilled in hunting, fishing, gathering, tracking, shelter building, hiking, and climbing. As a battler, he is decent, but doesn't have the skills of a professional trainer. Regardless, he has enough experience to hold his own in a fight.

Maks severely lacks social grace and should not be trusted to negotiate terms of agreement in any circumstance.
We must endeavor to learn all we can of our past, lest we repeat the mistakes of our ancestors.

Name: Gregory Stone, PhD

Sex: Male

Age: 32

Trainer Class: Archaeologist

Native Region: Orre
9i44mp_zps6dc2b6a1.jpg

Height: 5'8" (172cm)

Weight: 160lbs (72.5kg)

Doctor Stone, despite his somewhat sinister appearance, is a generally pleasant fellow to be around.  He is calm, collected, thinks his actions through, and rarely responds to situations with uncontrollable passion.  Of course he is also a bit odd.  This is notable immediately in the fact that you would be hard pressed to get him to wear anything other than his suit.  If it's too hot, he'll take off his jacket; if it's too cold, he'll put a heavier coat on over it, but he always wears the suit.  His hat, too, is something he is especially fond of and would be hard pressed to abandon.  Beyond that, he has little social awareness and will often say what is on his mind regardless of whether it is appropriate or not.  Perhaps as a result of this, he prefers to spend his time focused on whatever work there is at hand which must be done.  The only thing he is especially passionate about is his chosen profession, and with little difficulty he could talk on and on about his findings for hours.  Curiously, he does not believe he personally has the power to do much about the state of affairs in the world.  Instead, he seeks to acquire knowledge which can be passed on to those who are able to make the necessary changes.

Gregory Stone was originally born in Pyrite Town quite some time ago, and he grew up through some of the worst parts of his home region's history.  He saw Team Snagem and Cipher rise and fall, and the associated criminal activities that for a long time were simply a fact of life for everyone in that part of the world.  Seeking an escape from the unpleasantness of the present and immediate future, he turned to studying.  Particularly, he became interested in the cultures and civilizations of the past.

Some time during his early life, tragedy struck his home town when a factory exploded under mysterious circumstances.  Gregory was sent away by his parents to live in Phenac City, but he never learned the reason why.  Nor did he ever learn the reason why his parents died in the aftermath of the explosion, the story that they died fighting the fire did not strike him as believable.  He did, at first, return to Pyrite Town in a search for answers, but found none.  He might have fallen into despair right then and there, were it not for the timely arrival of a certain little one.

An Absol, quite young if its size was anything to go off of, found the young man while he had little idea of what to do next.  This sparked an idea in him, and he returned to Phenac with his new friend in tow.  He worked ever harder on his studies, but he also became something of a Pokémon Trainer on the side.  This provided him with enough money to pay rent and buy food, but his ultimate goal was to get a scholarship to a University elsewhere in the world.  He applied for what must have been 20 different scholarships, until he finally landed one.  A full ride at Slateport University in Hoenn.

This new chapter of his life proved to be the best thing that could have happened to Mr. Stone.  His devotion to his studies saw him graduating near the top of his class after four hard years of study, and from there he went on to attend Graduate School at the university in Casatelia City, Unova.  From there his life took another turn, as he sought to earn first his Masters and later Doctorate degrees in Archaeology.  He traveled the world to many different ancient sites in search of clues as to how the ancients interacted with Pokémon, and the roles they played in the rituals of the past.  His dissertation, "The Role of Celebi in the rituals of the original inhabitants of the Relic Forest," was published in no less than three journals on the subject.  This is also part of the reason for his inclusion in the team hired by Devon Corporation to enter the new and unexplored region, the other part being the team of fairly strong Pokémon he acquired over the years.

Species: Absol

Sex: Female

Nature: Hardy

Moves: Night Slash, Flamethrower, Future Sight, Psycho Cut, Dark Pulse, Iron Tail

Held Item: Absolite

Personality/Description:  Doctor Stone's first, and oldest, Pokémon, Rhan is something of a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.  Able to see into the future and predict disasters, fast enough to arrive in time to stop them, and strong enough to bring them down upon her foes.  She focuses on defeating an opponent as quickly as possible, and using her prescient abilities to avoid harm herself.  She remains troubled by her inability to prevent the explosion in Pyrite Town, but makes the most of the opportunity to travel with Gregory and prevent disasters.

Species: Scizor

Sex: Male

Nature: Lonely

Moves: Vacuum Wave, Wing Attack, Swords Dance, Fury Cutter, Iron Head, Focus Eneergy

Held Item: Shell Bell

Personality/Description:  A Pokémon Gregory met while on an expedition to a remote Island, Einhardt could well have the Doctor and his Absol to thank for saving his life.  At the time, he was cornered by a group of wild Pokémon and despite his skill and ability he was doomed to fall to their numbers.  He joined with the Doctor, finding something in him that was reminiscent of the trainer he had first traveled with and whom he had lost.  Einhardt relies on his own skill to turn the tide of battle, enduring the strikes from his foes or turning them aside while he assails his foe with exceptional vigor.

Species: Gardevoir

Sex: Female

Nature: Calm

Moves: Misty Terrain, Moonblast, Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Psyshock, Heal Pulse

Held Item: Safety Goggles

Personality/Description:  Originally coming across the good doctor as a young Ralts while he was trekking to a dig site, Maeve took a liking to the man and joined his team.  As she grew, her power became obvious and she proved to be invaluable to the team.  She prefers to keep back from battle, letting her more physically inclined team mates fight on the front while she acts as a combination of psychic artillery and a source of crowd control.  She takes great pride in her unusual coloration, and enjoys being out where others can see her.

Species: Ampharos

Sex: Male

Nature: Quirky

Moves: Zap Cannon, Ion Deluge, Confuse Ray, Thunderbolt, Hyper Beam, Attract

Held Item: Wise Glasses

Personality/Description:  One of the few Pokémon Doctor Stone caught in the more normal sense, Cobalt first made his appearance as a Mareep that would not stop stealing little items from around his campsite.  Since joining the team, he's fit in fairly well and grown to be quite the powerhouse.  Much like Maeve, he performs an artillery based role.  Unlike Maeve, he likes to make mischief with his foes by disrupting them through confusion.  Furthermore, he's proven to be something of a Casanova in that he will flirt with almost any female Pokémon he sees.

Species: Steelix

Sex: Male

Nature: Brave

Moves: Sandstorm, Stealth Rock, Iron Tail, Earthquake, Heavy Slam, Gyro Ball

Held Item: Smooth Rock

Personality/Description:  Donal originally belonged to another trainer, specifically one of Stone's colleagues with whom he went on many of his expeditions.  When his friend suffered a crippling injury, he asked Gregory to take Donal with him.  Though he required some convincing, Gregory eventually agreed.  Donal's grief was somewhat relieved by being with a friend, and among familiar Pokémon on his team.  Acting as the team's soak, Donal absorbs damage from his foes while making the environment hostile to them and further using his immense weight to his advantage.

Species: Goodra

Sex: Female

Nature: Modest

Moves: Rain Dance, Dragon Breath, Outrage, Toxic, Muddy Water, Thunder

Held Item: Damp Rock

Personality/Description:  Arturia came into Gregory's care when she was a little Goomy, while he was examining the ruins of an ancient civilization in a swampy area.  He accidentally overturned the rock under which she was resting, and the startled Pokémon attacked in a panic.  Of course, once she was captured she quite quickly took a liking to her new trainer and enjoyed riding on his back.  That has become a bit more difficult since her evolution, but she tries anyways often to disastrous effect.  In battle, she calls up rainstorms so that she may shed harmful effects, and from there she assaults her foes with powerful attacks, deadly poison, and a surprisingly frightening temper.

Mega Bracer - Functionally a Mega Bracelet, just taking the form of a Bracer instead.

Pokédex - Every trainer should have one to identify wild Pokémon.

Collection of Books - Mostly items detailing the legends of the Acahi people, so as to gain some understanding of their culture.

Shorts - They're comfy and easy to wear.  For special occasions.

Satelite Phone - No sense going out somewhere remote without the ability to call for help if the need arises.

Archaeology:  The main reason he was contracted for this expedition.  Dr. Stone is highly adept at identifying artifacts, categorizing them, working out approximately how old they are, and figuring out what they were used for.  He is especially good with altars and religious artifacts.

Knowledge of the Ancients:  Having worked in his field for as long as he has, Gregory knows a good bit about the ways of those that came before us.  Particularly, he knows a great deal about the way ancient cultures interacted with Pokémon both legendary and mundane.  As such, he is able to identify artistic depictions of Pokémon left by the ancients and guess as to their meaning.

Eye for Detail:  Stone is quite perceptive, able to pick out things that others would miss in the midst of more mundane things.  This is particularly useful for finding the entrances to hidden temples, important artifacts, or even mundane things like one's toothbrush after it's been dropped in a pile of sticks that your Goodra slept on the night before.

Name: Sophia Joy

Gender: Female
Age: 20
Trainer Class: Nurse
Native Region: Kanto
aWptOBF.jpg

Most people that don't know Sophia Joy would say that she's very professional, very kind, and very caring. Those that DO know her would say that she's not only impatient with most people, but she's also absolutely sadistic when you tick her off. She has a giant syringe that she keeps as a prop solely to threaten those more "troublesome patients." When dealing with her as a person, however, and not as a patient-to-professional, she's pretty kind if prone to mischief-making. She also tends to laugh at the strangest things, and has a gigantic appetite, preferring sour foods over everything else, while absolutely hating dry foods (Impish). Sophia is also very stubborn, but she calls it "highly persistent." She also blames it on her patients: "Sometimes you have to be even more stubborn than the patients to get anything done!"

Sophia is a scion of the legendary Joy family. This means that she was destined to go to nurse school (which accepts early applicants from those with potential a.k.a. Joys). There, she learned how to heal professionally, smile professionally, and hate most people that wasted her time with complaints over very minor things. She graduated as a registered nurse at the age of 18, very early for most nurses, but average for a Joy. However, instead of settling down in a Pokémon Center like her kin, Sophia decided to travel through various regions, which she did for two years before eventually signing up as a potential expedition member.
Sex: Male

Held Item: Scizorite

Held Item: Shell Bell

I apologize for not making this clear in the OP ( I had assumed it was implied, as I'm unfamilair with any pokemon canon that features trainers with more than one mega at a time) but each character is limited to one mega evolution per team. Adjust your apps please.

EDIT: as a side note, though having a mega evolution present on your team in no way affects your app's chances of being accepted. I would strongly  prefer it if the entire cast didn't have access to mega evolution from the beginning of the rp (My character will not have one at the outset). For one, gaining a mega stone as the RP progresses allows for character development and a little bit of power creep, both of which are good to have. Two, Expedition Acahra is (mostly) in canon with the core series games, in which mega evolution is an extremely uncommon/unknown phenomenon, and so it doesn't quite make sense from a continuity perspective to have mulitple mega pokemon already present on the expedition team. If you're worried about not having the option to have access to megas at all, fear not, the Acahra region is full of surprises ;)
