The only thing I want to note is that I decided to label the effects with Pokemon attack names so that the cards get that Pokemon flair. But it's just an effect name, it wouldn't have any impact on the effect itself. Also made a generic evolution effect for ar unevolved Pokemon for the same reason.

Oh, and their types are taken from the egg groups they belong to.

I'll keep them coming!

If you want new Types and names for their effects, go to Experimental Cards (change the title by asking a mod to move it). Squirtle cannot be a Normal Monster with an effect, because that just defeats the point of Normal Monsters.

I would suggest allowing them all to Special Summon from the Deck after battling, as it is very inconsistent and not worth anyone's while to Summon evolutions from the hand. I would also buff their effects, and if you want to make support for all of them, I would suggest making them into a "Poke" archetype. The second evolution Pokemon can afford to be Level 4; if they are Level 5 or higher, they need better effects and better ATK. I would also take the names off their effects. So "Charmeleon" would end up looking something like this:

I like the concept, but they all need buffing a lot!

I actually think that's cute and unique. (@the group of cards in the first post)

The simple pixel art is cute as hell and the naming is rather refreshing (looks weird but also unique) and I honestly prefer it like the OP had it in mind.

What you suggested is more towards a standard Yugioh card, but it loses the touch the original ones had.

What OP did is a newbie's mistake in card design (i.e choose bad images and make names for effects) but surprisingly it came out really nice and intriguing, and for once I actually wanted to read what each card had to offer.

I do agree however that each of them needs a buff. So consider buffing their effects!

Thanks for the feedback!

First of all I have to say that the pictures being like that was absolutely intended! I really wanted to get that old school gameboy look. I'm aware they look very pixelated in a larger scale like that, but oh well, nostalgia!

Honestly, if I were to make these cards with a metagame in mind, it'd be one where only my own Pokemon cards (with their own spell/trap cards) are allowed, rather than these cards being an addition to the already existing "real" cards; so I didn't consider the fact that most (or all) of my cards would not be viable in the current Yugioh metagame an issue. This is also why I allowed new concepts in such as the effect names, the generic evolution ability, and the types being the egg groups they have in the game. I apologize if this isn't the best subforum, but I gave the rules a (brief) read and thought this would be the best subforum to make the thread.

Yep, I'm more than aware how bad the evoltion effect looks on the normal cards due to the "limitations" of the Yugioh cards design. But the thing is that more than 50% of the Pokemon evolve and the vast majority of those that don't are strong Pokemon that would have another effect. So because of that, the amount of cards that would end up as normal monsters will be very low. Moreover, the evolution ability looks more like something inherent to the cards than a simple effect, at least that's what I had in mind. I agree it does look bad though. Actually I considered to add some default text like "No further evolutions" to normal monsters that don't evolve (like the Raticate I posted) to kind of compensate it, but in the end I decided to delete that text.

I just uploaded some more cards! Check the OP!

As some users have already pointed out, this is going into Experimental due to the Fake Types.

I know that they correlate to Egg Groups in Pokemon, but here you have to convert them into the 23 Types that exist in Yugioh.

That being said, it IS possible to design Pokemon cards with their effects in mind, and still have them competitively viable. (You can look at mine in Advanced Multiples)
