Face McShooty
When this monster battles a WATER monster, this monster gains 800 ATK during the Damage Step. This monster must attack each turn or it loses the ATK gain.
TJDouglas13
It's quite cool. I mean, the effect isn't that imaginative, but it does it's job. Also, when does it gain ATK? After the battle, or before? For a warrior though, it isn't that powerful, especially considering you'd need to give up 1 monster to get this on the field. And, let's be honest, fish isn't exactly the most used type ever, so just being able to gain 400 ATK when battling an already un-used type is quite... Meh. Theme wise is quite cool. It follows the theme of a fish killing machine, and getting bonuses when fighting a fish is cool, but it is quite underpowered... Overall, it's quite bland and under powered. Face McShooty
How would you recommed I make it not underpowered? Higher ATK raise?
Tinkerer
Well, you could make the attack gains permanent, but it still leaves the problem that fish is an underplayed type. Not much else I can say without entirely rehashing what the card is supposed to be...
Flash Flyer - Sakura
As above user mentioned, you can just make the ATK boost permanent (and probably higher). The flavor fits well, but unless you use DNA Surgery or something to change everything to Fishes, this card won't get its effect off. If this were a couple years ago, when Fishborg stuff and Coelacanth (or however you spell that) were relevant; then maybe this would be better. As is, I don't know. --- I suppose you could have it slash WATER monsters instead; since it technically fits the flavor of fish-related things (water); that'll activate consider Nekroz and a bunch of other things are still relevant right now. Flash Flyer - Sakura
So you went the Ape Fighter route. It can still be stopped by attack negation and other things, but it is an improvement in its usability. That being said, you still need to note when it gains the points; I would assume in the damage calculation area.
