Hindsight is 20/20, but if Rulers had been specifically for their elements and didn't include the text "Dragon-type," they might not have caused so much format-warping from the start. They would've been techable cards at best and people would've been like, "Wow, cool, monster staples. Not bad, Konami."

Even limited to 1, they still played parts in a deck that included all of them. Just because they could use each other to play each other. *shakes head*

Hey, you know... You can technically do stupid shit, like, putting 3x Stream in Atlanteans/Mermails.
Sure, you won't Summon Tidal, but your still using other shit to activate Stream's effect.
So now you can be a pro and -2 from your hand to trigger the effect of whatever Atlantean you used.

Thing is, Hieratics can still pull off Dark Matter, so.. It's not like Dark Matter won't exist anymore. They could probably pull off Dark Flare too. I forget what their levels are, so don't quote me on that.  Yep. Asar is lvl 7. Or use Eset and target Red-Eyes or another lvl 7. Nuit, Su, Tefnuit, and Nebthet can pull out a Red-Eyes (or another lvl 7).  So use one of them to pull a lvl 7, then summon Eset and use it's eff to make it lvl 7. Or if you have Eset on field, that's 3 lvl 7s.

Yes Hieratic can still make Dark Matter but as I have tested, that's fairly underwhelming without drulers backing it up/banishing wyvern. It's simply lost its fear factor.

Lol I just got wrecked by Hieratic Dark Matter Rulers yesterday at locals. Everyone, including myself playing rit beasts, is saying their last good byes

Tempest was kinda underwhelming in rit beasts anyways, but Star Eater was my only out to Towers, but Qli are dead blahblahblah

10, 10 days till the end of Dark Matter Hieratics! Ah, ah, ah!

Seriously though, it kinda sucks considering I was seriously considering Infernoids as one of many options for the format since I didn't want to play Nekroz or Qli, but I'm not complaining. I faced Dark Matter variants a few times, and have been absolutely disgusted every time. I just feel bad for the people who payed for overpriced 107s and 62s

We all knew their time would come soon, but at this time was so sudden, it really kinda did make me want to cry.

Oh...back in March, the days where fathers and sons were inducing PTSD into so many Dragon haters. Konami likely didn't mean to have them used together, but as supporters in their respective attributes, they have done pretty good. But now, even though TCG hasn't truly felt a taste of Dark Matter Droolers yet, I bid them an honorable farewell and then play Sarah McLachlan's I Will Remember You while I am at it.

To be fair, Dark Matter's 3x Dragon mill is pretty fuckin' stupid.
