Logo done by myself, again [Photoshop quality if I might add].

You can probably figure out why these Pokémon were specifically selected, but it really shouldn't make a difference to what Poke shows itself on the logo.

---

Welcome to the 4th YCM Pokémon Tournament.

For the first three, see here, here and recently, here.

This is a straight-elimination style tournament pitting all of your favorites in a battle for supremacy.

As usual, this will be a 128(+) Pokémon tournament; meaning 7 rounds of competition.

NOMINATION STATUS: CLOSED
1. You're allowed to nominate up to 10 Pokémon (that equals your regular team + 4 other Pokes).

This is so you can nominate as many of your favorites as possible, as no one likes leaving some of them out. Also helps with reaching the 128 Poke goal (more variety and as stated, you guys can vote for more stuff down the line).

2. All Pokémon are allowed for submission (legendaries, starters, Eeveelutions, event stuff, whatever).
In essence, you can nominate from Bulbasaur up until Hoopa; Volcanion is to remain off this list until confirmed by official sources.

- Pokemon in an evolutionary chain are considered as separate species. For instance, if someone already picked Pikachu, you are free to nominate Pichu and Raichu as well.
- Specific instances of a Pokémon will be treated as the normal species. (Ex: Korrina's Lucario counts as the regular one, as will Riley's/Maylene's)

3. You can nominate a Pokémon that someone else already submitted; it'll increase the chances of it being in tournament (see below).
To make it easier, Pokémon with 2+ nominations will have their names bolded.

4. Pokémon only require 1 vote to get into the tournament. However, there will be a cap of 128 Pokémon, so the more votes a Pokémon gets, the better chances of it staying in; should we go over the limit. So far, we never reached this cap (and the remainder is generally RNG selections)

Priority will be given to submissions with 2+ votes; though if there are still plenty of submissions with only one vote, we'll just allow everything in.
Submissions stop once the cap is reached (in essence, if we hit 128+, no more Pokes can be submitted)

128 entrants factors nicely into a 7-round tournament; no need to use algebra to figure out how many triple battles (or 3P rounds in R2) if things happen. But there will be some ties at some point or another, so such calculations will be necessary.

5. You can change your nomination, but only once. If you change your vote, you must announce the changes in another post.
It's advised that you think your nominations over though before submission.

6. No flaming/trolling other members for choosing a particular Pokémon. Some of the submissions may be controversial, but just respect other members and their votes.

You can have strong feelings about the Pokémon in question, but no bashing on members.

7. No using alternate accounts to vote for Pokes. This was an issue in the second tournament; when many new members voted for the same nomination. IP checks will be done if there are a suspicious amount of new members voting for a particular Poke.

Keep in mind that I reserve the authority to discount any votes if this situation arises. Seriously though, just play fair. I know you all want your nominations to win, but you can't always get what you want.

I will be doing IP checks if such a thing arises.

8. Have fun.

In the preliminaries and secondary round, there will be 32 matches with 4 Pokémon each; however in this case, the two most voted Pokes will advance.

Ideally, doing 64 matches in 1v1 format would be better as to keep consistency, but that would cause this section to get flooded with this tournament's threads, and would take longer to complete. (I also rather not have multiple Polls on a thread, especially because YCM will force you to answer them all)

All matches in round 3 and beyond will be straight 1v1s; this should be a bit easier to handle and understand. In essence, the match tiering will go like this. The ideal number of winners for each round are listed in brackets.

 • Preliminaries: 128 participants -> 32 matches [64]
 • Round 2: 64 participants -> 32 matches [32]
 • Round 3: 32 participants -> 16 matches [16]
 • Round 4: 16 participants -> 8 matches [8]
 • Quarterfinals: 8 participants -> 4 matches [4]
 • Semifinals: 4 participants -> 2 matches [2]
 • Finals: 2 participants -> 1 match [1]

Matches will be open for about 3 days before being auto-locked; however consecutive matches will be posted before others end to keep things running.
All matches will end at 10:00 pm Hawaiʻi Standard Time (GMT -10:00), so consistency is retained.

They will auto-lock when the time expires, although I may end them an hour or so early if things are dead.

There will be a poll that you can cast your votes in; final scores will be determined from the poll results, as it is tedious to manually count the posted votes.
However, you are encouraged to write your vote in a reply as well; if you choose.

All matches will have public voting enabled; this helps with seeing if we indeed get multi-accounts voting for a particular entry.

(Not going to write another proof for determining un-ideal matchups; you can just read the one from YCM GPT 2)

When I said 10 nominations, I meant DIFFERENT Pokes.

Altaria, Volcarona, Haxorus and Serperior are legitimate though.

As for the Altaria pic, I didn't have one on my computer at the time; considering I was on Windows + internet was being stupid earlier (and to an extent, still is at the moment).

(Then again, the logo is supposed to be a reference to me and Zextra in Club Espeon; remind me to lock V3. And even if I included Altaria, wouldn't really go well on the logo; considering its wings would block out the other two.)

I'll nominate in a bit, but...why did you think it was a good idea to do this while two other Poll tournaments were going on? This is gonna be a huge mess and it's going to be tough to keep track of everything. I know for a fact this means some polls will get buried.

I honestly am wondering what led you to do this two months after the last one ended, what with multiple polls going on.

Nominations

1. Maractus

2. Masquerain

3. Manectric

4. Rhyhorn

5. Pidgeot

6. Dragalge

7. Heatran

8. Walrein

9. Spinda

10. Parasect

Gonna be completely honest here, when I first saw this was a thing I was...a bit salty. Because for instance, the first round of this will be 32 matches.

there can only be 30 topics on a page. So this means that Polls will be extremely crowded as is, and my 8 at a time polls will be in trouble of being lost.

I'm just slightly concerned about how messy this will be.

Also I nominated, might've missed it since we posted at the same time, Sakura. ^^;

Just asking, how will the Pokémon battle each other? Because I'm not sure I fully understand.

Anyway, I nominate Sudowoodo, Drifblim, Drifloon, Chatot, Anorith, Loudred, Wurmple, Kriketune, Shellos and Magcargo.

It's Polls. basically (check the matches spoiler for more info) there will be Polls with the Pokemon in matches and people will vote on their favorites.

Shame on you, Cow! :O

We need at least this:

Porygon-Z

<3 <3 <3 There's so many I love, I know I can count on you to nominate a couple I miss.

By the way, Sakura. I was thinking, if at least this can be held off for a few days or so (when the first round of my thing is done) it might be easier and I can go down to 4 polls at a time perhaps.

We'll just have to see how quickly we get the 128 entries and all that other stuff.

From the looks of things, we're close to it.

(Or if it's really a problem, I can just design a new subsection for Pokemon)

That being said, I would consider raising the bar to 170 Pokes; which works into 5P fights, but that would be hard to deal with.

It would allow you guys to add in more options to whatever you'd like, however.

If you guys would like this option, go ahead and say it. (Although 128 is quite a bit)

--

Also sad that no one nominated Milotic yet; hopefully I don't have to prompt Zex to do it.

Unless it's in there, but never looked.

--

On that note, I won't be posting all 32 matches at once; you should remember from last time.

@Tyretian: Matches are decided using RANDOM.org like they've always been.

---

I'll add the entries later to OP; using my netbook at the moment to type all this.
