Updated 03/28 - Total redesign of the monsters and Spells/Traps.

  • DARK and WIND monster
  • Resigned effects
  • Fusion monsters
  • Quick-play Fusion Spell Cards

--------------------------------------

Recently found out about this archetype and even though not many cards have been released for it I'm already loving the idea behind them.

For those who don't know the Aromas are a new archetype that focus on having effects while your Life Points are greater than your opponent's. Don't be fooled by their names like I was at first "Aromage" gives me the idea they should be Spellcasters but they are actually Plants. Which is neat and gives them plenty of support but I should would have liked the idea of using them with Spellbooks.

It took me a while to figure out how to go about this archetype. But I'm pretty happy how they turned out. The smaller main deck monster focus on board/game control while the boss fusions cause distribution.

Hope you all enjoy!
Also any c&c in welcomed and encouraged!

Everything seems a little...I don't know, oppressive? They don't have a problem shutting down a lot of the meta with their smaller monsters preventing searching and effect negation (Fiendish Chain, etc). Tsuga setting up easy Rank 3s (I have in mind Alucard for shutting down backrow, and Leviair for snatching things banished with Camphor) might be a bit much, but since it's not exactly at will, it isn't at the level of, say, Tour Guide.

One card that really jumps out to scare me with Aroma monsters is Solemn Wishes. "Increase your Life Points by 500 points each time you draw a card (or cards)." With a nigh-guaranteed activation of Tsuga and Camphor, they turn absolutely smothering, shutting out Graveyard-centered comebacks and giving out free Lonefire Blossoms and Dandylions like candy. That ain't right. Maybe, as a solution, restrict the Life Point gain-triggered effects to "Aroma" cards (which stops abuse of Solemn Wishes)? Swarming with Tsuga suddenly becomes reliant on Vineyard's activation from the hand or maybe even a future "Aroma" monster that Tributes to gain LP.
