(Yeah, sue me now for teh logo)

Welcome to my PokeBlog, people of YCM. Honestly, my previous blog went down the pan and thus I decided to discontinue it for now. So if you couldn't tell already, this blog is about Pokemon (No shit Sherlock) and I'm will try to offer something different with each blog entry (Well I hope so at least).

I've been playing the pokemon games for like 17 years or something, so I thought what better subject to do a blog on than to do it on something I've been passionate about for years if you know what I mean.

I may follow a set schedule, but more likely than not there won't be a schedule, it depends on what time I have to complete my blog entries.
Welcome to the Anime Corner. In this segment, I will be talking about the pokemon anime (Exciting right?), so without further ado let's begin.

Today's Anime Corner entry is about episode XY065: Enter Wartortle and Raichu! Sliggoo Does its Best!!

(Link to episode is in the title)

SPOILERS AHEAD
So the episode begins with Ash and Co in a Pokemon Center speaking to Clemont who talks about his training and also shows off his newest invention, which unsurprisingly blows up in his face. (To be fair, it looked ugly anyway)
~ OPENING SEQUENCE ~
The scene then turns to the three humans w/ Pikachu walking through a path in the forest only to be stopped by Tierno, the dance fanatic. After exchanging pleasantries, Tierno is also a fan of Serena's new outfit and I don't blame him, her new design is so much better than her old design. (Shame we can't recreate that in XY even though most of the pokemon community play ORAS anyway) He also shows off his Voltage Badge that he won from Clembot prior to the events of this episode but he didn't make it easy for himself because he used Squirtle in the battle, but it's not like characters winning under a type disadvantage in the anime is uncommon or anything.
Before engaging in a double battle with Ash (vs Pikachu/Sliggoo), Tierno shows off the new additions to his dance posse team; Hitmontop, Ludicolo and Politoed before sending Raichu to join Wartortle in battle. At this point, a one-wheeled Team Rocket mech comes in to take Pikachu, prompting them to gloat via a hologram. Needless to say Ash freed Pikachu, but the mech steals Wartortle and Raichu and flings them into the conveniently placed cage and when Pikachu and Sliggoo tried to rescue them (To Team Flare BG music, speaking of, those guys haven't appeared yet, except Lysandre ofc in the Mega Evolution specials) Sliggoo was flung into the cage as well which carted off with the machine, whoops.
After Fletchinder fails to find the trio of captured mons, the main character brigade decides to split up and cover more ground. Meanwhile Team Rocket look over their haul and are surprised to see Raichu instead of the Pikachu they've been hunting for the best part of getting on 20 years. It's an evolved pokemon for pete's sake, does it really matter? Probably not since they're going to get away anyway. And how do they get away? Jessie being a complete idiot and getting her Pumpkaboo to Shadow Ball the cage away accidentily as revenge for Wartortle messing up her hair. (Get over it girl, it's only hair; easily fixable)
As soon as the cage falls off the cliff, "conveniently" behind where Tierno and Bonnie were walking and causing a convenient crash that the two could hear, Sliggoo got up first and done the right thing; asking if the other two mons were ok especially if they had to find everyone else alone, fortunately Bonnie and Tierno found them.
~~~
Meanwhile we find Ash and Serena trying to make out... I mean trying to find Sliggoo and the others, instead they find and neutralise Team Rocket's one-wheeled mech, temporarily at least as it later chases them and once its hands get a hold of Pikachu, Team Rocket wastes everyone's time by reciting their motto for the twenty billionth time, I mean they could've used that time to get away. When the mech spits out another cage to place Pikachu in, Sliggoo rugby tackles it, freeing Pikachu in the process. Of course Team Rocket wasn't going to take that lying down, so Jessie sends in Pumpkaboo to use Shadow Ball which blows up the mech, surrounding everyone in a burning ring of fire.
This situation then reminds Sliggoo of another traumatic experience in its life when some of his friends from its homeland were surrounded by a burning ring of fire. This causes Sliggoo to take action.
# RANT TIME #
And it takes action by using Rain Dance to douse the flames which is a good idea, but this causes Sliggoo to evolve into Goodra, and whilst the writers kept within the game mechanics of Sliggoo evolving when it's raining, Sliggoo CANNOT evolve when it's raining from the effects of Rain Dance or Drizzle. That's my only complaint here, the writers dungoofed.
# RANT OVER #
So after getting rid of Team Rocket using Dragon Pulse, we get back on track and return to the point BEFORE Team Rocket attacked; the double battle between Ash and Tierno. During the battle Goodra takes the role of being a tank and storing energy with Bide whilst Pikachu fights off the enemy attacks before Goodra unleashes the energy back. Of course this isn't enough to win, and at this point the two trainers get serious (just as the XY Elite Four music plays in the background). Tierno's Wartortle does a little breakdance before gettign restrained by Goodra and Pikachu stops Raichu before it strikes Goodra; the latter tosses Wartortle at Raichu causing both of them to break rhythm and one Dragon Pulse puts both of them out of commission, making Ash the winner.
After saying their goodbyes, the main character brigade arrive at Lumiose City, the site of Ash's battle with Clemont.
- Before that however we have Robot on Robot action, (Yup Clembot and notClembot do battle not only with their pokemon, but also robo-hand to hand combat) after notClembot gets Clembot locked up for criminal stuff.
All-in-all, I do liek how Ash's Goodra has developed in the ten episodes that we've known it. For example the invasion of its homeland was definitely a traumatic experience in its life. In the beginning it froze in shock whenever it encountered a dangerous situation, but over time it managed to get over this to help its friends. Not to mention taking action after the fire from Team Rocket's mechs reminded it of a similar situation during the invasion as well as getting over its fears of fairies.
I love how you found/used a Pokemon font for the logo.
Yeah, it came from Dafont.com
You could remove the Tildes(~s, w/e) from the logo, since they look strange being perched up like that.
I guess you're right, I mean it shouldn't take too long to edit
Welcome to Pokemon Tales, a segment where I talk about my many experiences with the pokemon games or specific Pokemon in general (Most likely the former). In this entry I will be talking about Missy the Beedrill from my Soul Silver Wedlocke.
I've been doing nuzlocke challenges and some of its variants for a while now. It's a fun and somewhat challenging way of playing the pokemon games. Some of you may remember the Nuzlocke Nook, it was a Club that was mainly dedicated to nuzlockes and its variants that I was a member of. One of my favourite aspects of nuzlockes is that you can grow a bond with the pokemon you capture on your journey and that bond deepens the longer that a pokemon remains on your team because of the fact that you don't want them to die.
However out of all of the survivors from the nuzlockes/wedlockes I've completed, there was one survivor that I have the closest bond with, and that would be Missy the Beedrill from my Soul Silver wedlocke.
I loved Missy, she became one of my favourites as the wedlocke progressed. Definitely a fighter indeed, but there was a time when I didn't care much for her. You see when I caught her, she was a Modest Kakuna with only Harden at its disposal, thus she had to be babied by her eventual partner, Viper the Ekans until she became a Beedrill but even then, her nature held her back a bit. It was tough in the early stages and I will admit that when I caught her that I wanted her dead (Not the best thing to think in a nuzlocke/wedlocke), but I realised that was cruel and I would be missing out on potential and I definitely believed in her potential.
And that's the thing with nuzlockes and its variants, sometimes you get handed a pokemon with a bad nature or a pokemon that isn't very good altogether, but if you work with it, you'll find that it may have hidden potential and even get quite far. ImagIne my surprise when I found out that my Beedrill had 5 IVs (Everything but HP). You see before I challenged the Elite Four, I decided to check the IVs of the pokemon on my team, mainly for the lulz, but the IV Calculator delivered some surprising results.
I knew that working with Beedrill would be a challenge, especially a Modest one, but hey I can't really complain when I'm getting results and she's taking names. She would even survive all the way to the Elite Four where her partner at the time, a 5IV Umbreon (Yeah, I was pretty lucky in that regard, again to my surprise) would defeat four of Lance's pokemon (specifically the rest of his team), that's including the three Dragonites, all to defend Missy.
As I got further and further into Kanto, I grew to love Missy more and more and hoped that she would survive to the very end, in fact I would consider her to be one of my favourite pokemon I had used in a nuzlocke. Sure I never got to use her against Red but I felt she had done all that she needed to do on my journey anyway, but still just surviving the fight was enough in my books for the front runners of my team in Kanto.
In conclusion, through the experiences that I have had with Missy, I definitely like Beedrills more (I'm not the only one *cough*Arin*cough*) and I had been tempted to use a Beedrill for the lulz online, and when Mega Beedrill was revealed, I felt like it was a sign. It was as if Missy knew that she would be getting a Mega evolution and used that as motivation throughout her time on my team.
>Story is in the style of "re-writing" GX
PFFFF
I was trying to review the episode, I didn't mean for it to be similar to the style of my GX re-write.
The review did have some serious points, the last paragraph for example (and my rant was semi-serious)
~ Nuzlocke Corner ~
Who needs logos when you have Size 36 text. :Kappa: Anywho, I'm sure you must be surprised that this has randomly returned after like a year's absence, and yes I am aware it is a necrobump, but I don't care.
Welcome to the Nuzlocke Corner. In this segment, I'll be talking about my experiences in nuzlockes, and I'm currently doing a wedlocke of platinum, so without further ado...
Chapter 1: Everything but...
"Why am I sleeping in front of an old dude with a suitcase that looks like Lord Sugar?" The unnamed trainer said out loud to a concerned looking Professor Rowan who introduces the trainer to the world of Pokémon. I could've skipped the last part of the sentence, but then I'd be getting complaints. :Kappa:
Anywho, the trainer introduces himself as Sink, and yup like twenty billion other pokemon trainers, he has abusive parents which we all know is the norm in the pokemon world and as soon as the old bloke finishes his speech, Sink finds himself in his room.
As soon as the TV report ends Skrub (Y'know the blonde, impatient bloke) runs upstairs and has this stupid idea of asking some old person for some pokemon, before logging onto my PC, attempting to frape me on facebook. And yes I'm aware that I'm switching between 1st and 3rd person, deal with it. After threatening to fine me (What is he, Lord Sugar's grandson?), I head downstairs where Mrs Sink tells me not to head into tall grass.
Leaving my house, I head straight to Skrub's house where he thuds into me before forgetting his journal, needless to say I follow where I am threatened with a second fine. (I'm not made of money Skrub, geez) On Route 201, Skrub has this "brilliant" idea of dashing through the tall grass to avoid encounters (Like that's going to work) and as soon as he implements this "brilliant" strategy, some old dude stops us and he arrives with a woman wearing a sock on her head.
One lecture later, and boy did he give us a lecture, notLord Sugar allows us to pick a pokemon, but before that I check my "Hitler" card to see who I am allowed to pick, but it went on vacation as it said 0 meaning I can pick whatever I damn like, so I went with Nut the male Chimchar (Sink decided that his naming theme would be inanimate objects) After my choice, Skrub decides to be a douche and picks Chimchar and starts a battle with me, a battle that Pot won.
After his loss, Skrub buggered off home in shame.
Will add pics later.
~ Nuzlocke Corner ~
Welcome back to the Nuzlocke corner, where I will be continuing with my Platinum Wedlocke tale and the adventure of Sink and the constant switch between the 1st and 3rd person.
Sink heads back home to tell his mother that he gave Skrub a right good spanking over a spot of dinner, needless to say she was amused indeed. (Something Skrub's mother would not condone at all) So anywho, my mother tells me (once again with the 1st/3rd person switch, what is wrong with me?) to thank Lord SugarRowan for the Pot, sorry wrong choice of words, the Turtwig before giving him (arggg) the running shoes.
Back on Route 201, Skrub has more "genius" ideas (Gee, he should go on Dragon's Den) this time, going to the lake to capture the legendary pokemon living there. (Two problems with that Skrub, A; I CAN'T cuz it's genderless, and B; We have NO balls you Scrub, see why I called him Skrub?) Seeing as we have no choice, no seriously, the damn scrub handcuffed us together and hid the key from sight, we go to the lake and see some totally not suspicious bloke staring into the water and leaving after his monologue.
Realising we had no balls (Skrub wasn't born with any by the way), Skrub decides to race us to notLord Sugar's lab, a race he autowins by the way. Upon reaching Sandgem Town, Little Miss Sock approaches Sink and shows us to the lab where... you guessed it, the Skrub thuds into us and buggers off after he got a bollocking from notLord Sugar for mentioning Dragon's Den.
One bollocking late, Sink receives the pokedex and TM27 from notLord Sugar, as well as a tour of the town and an order from Little Miss Sock which is to go home and tell his mother about the task notLord Sugar set him, and with that done, Sink final gets some balls. (Something Skrub doesn't have) The first thing Sink did was head into the tall grass where he found Plank the female (Timid) before heading to the Lake (not to catch the Legendary), where he found Nest the male Starly (Modest).
Author's note (to justify the title); You know what's going to happen. Since Plank and Nest have minus Attack natures, they're totally going to survive to the end :Kappa: just like Steve's Beedrill (Missy) who had a minus Attack nature, then there's the Starly from Steve's nuzlocke who survived to the end as well, but ofc Sink isn't Steve.
~ Anime Corner ~
Welcome back to the anime corner, today's entry will be about the episode; XY106: The Explosive Ground Force! The Zygarde Capture Operation!! (Title is a link to the episode)
SPOILERS AHEAD
So we begin the episode with Ash and co relaxing after a meal doing funk all (No seriously, they're not even the focus for this episode), except Bonnie who is singing her ending theme to Z-1.
Meanwhile the real main characters (Team Rocket) go to contact their boss where they are greeted by this woman (Whose name I cannot even remember) who we haven't seen in like 2 years, heck she hasn't spoken in 5 years. Anywho Giovanni the main characters with capturing Z-2 and after explaining rtheir plan to the viewers (Wearing silly outfits ofc), they accelerate off in their balloon.
~ OPENING SEQUENCE ~
Back to the minor characters, Z-1 somehow senses that its sex partner Z-1 is in trouble before Bonnie returns to sing her song (It's all she is good for at this point). Onto the real plot for this episode, Z-2 gets itself cornered by a Weavile and Druddigon before Aliana and Mable (Two of Lysandre's science harem) and 3 identical looking grunts (Who are in reality, robots) converge onto the scene where Mable fires a beam restricting Z-2's movements. Of course it all ends in tears as Z-2 decides to digivolve to dog form and launch a counterstrike all whilst the bad guys demonstrate their shoddy aim.
A short while later, Z-2 stumbles infront of the main characters where they try to get it to join them, but are subsequently frozen by Weavile's Ice Beam, before thawing out a few seconds later (That's what a pissweak 45 base Special Attack will do). One recital of their motto later (Which was a masterpiece as usual), Team Flare fire their red lasers at Z-2 which is cockblocked by Team Rocket who send in their pokemon to attack before everyone is sent flying to a nearby ravine.
~~~

When they come to, Z-2 revitalises itself before the main characters get out their communication device to tell of their success (I wonder what will go wrong here), but it gets frozen by an Ice Beam as the bad guys approach them for part 2 of their battle. Weavile uses its Metal Claw to send the main characters flying aginst the wall, whilst Druddigon proceeds to finish them off with a Dragon Pulse, sadly that gets cockblocked by Wobbuffet which is followed by Weavile blowing them away with Icy Wind.

Of course this doesn't deter the main characters from getting their prize (They are important to the main plot after all) as they send Gourgeist and Inkay to attack the Robots NFE pokemon (Seriously one of them has a bloody Poochyena for pete's sake), however alongside Druddigon and Weavile, they are defeated. Oh and before we forget about the little plot device, it decides to gather more cells and digivolve to Ultimate (The 50% forme) who unleashes a three-headed Dragon Pulse to create a large crater around it. (Yeah, it's that pissed)

As the bad guys wonder what to do now, Sakaki Yuya Alain arrives with his Charizard and begins a head on fight with Z-2, even mega evolving in the process but alas even with that power, Z-2 surrounds itself with Stalagmites to protect itself but was unaware of Aliana and Robot #1 firing their red laser to capture it. (This also causes it to revert to Rookie level btw) The main characters try to stop them but are sent blasting off as a result before reporting back to Giovanni.

Back to the minor characters (Who only got a grand total of 2 minutes 49 seconds of screentime) Z-1 is saddened that it cannot sense Z-2, but Bonnie reassures it and the episode ends. (Before Clemont builds a Bonnie-bot to massage Z-1 but is blown up like everything else Clemont makes)

And ofc since this was a Team Rocket-centric episode, their Team Song is used as the ending theme instead of the usual one this episode.

Enjoy

What's this? Am I necrobumping this blog? (don't shoot me)

iwkpqq.jpg

Welcome back to Pokemon Tales. This time I'll be covering BW2's PWT, specifically the champion's tournament. This is probs the longest blog post I've written.
Note: All of my better 'mons migrated to Gen 6/7, thus I'm left with my story team, who I used in the preceding tournaments too.

For the past few days, I decided to try and conquer the champions tournament in W2's PWT with my story team. (Difficult I know, but technically it's possible) So the 'mons I chose for this difficult task are Flygon as the lead, followed by Electivire and Espeon. (Not the best 'mons in the world, but can theoretically get the job done)

Before I go into the depths of my experiences in this minefield, such endeavours gave birth to various memes, inside jokes and downright stupid sheet. One such example being I'm the Leicester City in the batch as with the team I'm using, I'm unlikely to take the title, but it isn't impossible as I can beat five out of the seven opponents. (The two I can't beat being Lance and Cynthia)

On the subject of memes, let's begin with Wallace's Milotic, specifically its turn one move of choice Icy Wind. The move claims to have an accuracy of 95%, but I have NEVER seen it miss with Icy Wind. In fact I've seen Ice Fang (used by Blue's Aerodactyl) miss more times than Icy Wind, and they have the same funking accuracy. Hence every time I see Icy Wind, I'm like "That thing never misses." sarcastically at least.

Of course I should mention the one thing I don't like seeing on Wallace's team is Sharpedo. (or The Sharpedophile as I like to call it. I wonder if the pervert outside Celadon Gym owns one) For one, it has the Focus Sash, also it hits like a truck so my guys can't survive long enough to get two hits on it unless it throws by using Hydro Pump or Zen Headbutt and missing. It has done so in the past (which cost Wallace the match), but the chances of it happening are as rare as Icy Wind missing... owait. As for the rest of Wallace's team, Swampert usually dies to Psychic (which takes two hits), Ludicolo also takes two shots to kill regardless of ability as Rain Dance + Surf cannot kill Espeon in one hit. Walrein is bulky and I usually try to chip it down with Rock Slide so that Espeon can kill it (if Flygon doesn't do so, and ofc the only way Electivire can take down Walrein is if Icy Wind misses), and Starmie is a roll of the dice vs Espeon ofc.

On the subject of throws, I had one instance of Red's Pikachu using Volt Tackle whilst Electivire was on the field giving me the speed to kill it without taking a hit. Another instance being Alder's Volcarona using Quiver Dance two turns in a row leaving it vulnerable to death by Earthquake, and that has happened on a handful of occasions actually. Though whilst I am on about Volcarona I can dispatch it in one turn by critting with either Rock Slide or Earthquake. (doesn't matter which of the two moves I use as they do the same damage factoring Volcarona's berry nerfing Rock moves.

Staying on the subject of Alder, one pokemon of his I can't take care of is Krookodile. Regardless of ability it hits like a truck as well and my guys can't survive long enough to mount a counterattack. Chandelure is another pokemon I have trouble with, unless it gets locked into Energy Ball in which case Espeon can take two of those and kill Chandelure. As for the rest of Alder's team, Conkeldurr dies to Psychic (though U-Turning into Espeon is a no-go as doing so gives Conkeldurr the opportunity to kill Espeon), Reuniclus has trouble with Espeon as the only attacking move it has is Psychic, thus it resorts to stalling as I take it down, and Braviary I can take care of though it usually dies to its own recoil damage.

The next person I want to talk about is Red as I brought up his Pikachu a couple of paragraphs ago. Pikachu obviously starts off with Fake Out and I normally take care of it with Earthquake (if Iron Tail doesn't crit), though I have taken it out with Electivire as well by using Ice Punch. (Espeon simply dies to Volt Tackle, and there have been instances where the battle has ended in a draw from recoil) Venusaur usually dies to Psychic, or Ice Punch as I have pulled off the freeze on it as well, Lapras has a tendancy to die from Thunderpunch, though Espeon has taken it out too, though that is RNG dependant. Speaking of RNG, whether I kill Charizard or not is down to the RNG. Sure it has the Sash, but 75% of its moves can miss and if it misses like once, it usually dies to either Electivire or Espeon (Flygon gets Dragon Pulse'd, but can survive to activate the Sash). As for Blastoise, it has the Choice Scarf so it either gets locked into Blizzard (if Flygon is out) or Water Spout and most of the time Electivire kills it, though how much HP it survives with is dependant on what move Blastoise is locked into. And as for Snorlax, it is a pain to get rid of as it takes like three hits to die from either Flygon or Electivire, or the two of them combined, unless the Quick Claw activates which turns the tide of the fight (Espeon gets one-shotted btw).

Next up we have Steven. His Metagross dies to two Earthquakes, and it either retaliates with Zen Headbutt or Hammer Arm, though I prefer to be hit by Hammer Arm as Zen Headbutt can do enough damage to follow up with Bullet Punch for the KO. One pokemon I usually don't like seeing is Excadrill, the hard-hitting Sash guy, and unless Flygon is at full health (which can be acheived via turn one crit or Metagross missing turn one) I can't kill it as X-Scissor is a three hit kill on Flygon. Armaldo takes three hits to die, Cradily also takes three hits to die as well, though I do prefer seeing it over Armaldo as at least I can crit Cradily and it can end up missing with Stone Edge or use Sandstorm. Whenever Aggron is sent out, I'm like "how big must the Air Balloon be to carry it in the air?" nevertheless I pop it with a weak attack and if Head Smash misses, Flygon takes it out the following turn, failing that Electivire tries to take it out otherwise Espeon has to do it, and if that happens, I'm usually in a losing situation (ofc Aggron can also Avalanche Flygon as well, but whether it does so depends on Flygon's HP). Archeops is another RNG case, if it misses with Head Smash, it's usually curtains for it.

Moving onto Blue, his Machamp dies to Psychic, though I have U-Turned into Espeon on a few occasions if Espeon wasn't out already. Exeggutor dies to X-Scissor, though U-Turn doesn't one-shot it as there have been instances where Flygon is out against it. Gyarados is a mon I don't like seeing and to kill it, Electivire has to survive an Outrage, though despite the fact that it has the King's Rock, I rarely suffer the flinch. Alakazam (or Alakatwat as I call it) I also don't like seeing *insert generic Sash comments here* and as for Arcanine, I can only take that out if Flygon is at full health. Finally we have Aerodatyl, it has the Choice Band, so what I try to do is switch into Electivire as it can take two Ice Fangs (which I've seen miss more times than Icy Wind) and kill with Thunderpunch, though it has froze a couple of times too.

Now you may remember me talking about inside jokes and stupid sheet at the top of this essay (it feels like one), so I'm gonna share a couple of those in this paragraph, and these involve Cynthia mainly. One thing that exists in my head canon is that Garchomp is scared of Espeon as most of the time it kills itself via confusion when Espeon is on the field. As for the stupid sheet, the first time I faced Cynthia in the final round and saw her say "When you are facing a Trainer in battle, you can learn everything about them" the first thing I thought of was Kouji Ibuki from Cardfight Vanguard when he said "In the heat of battle, a player's true character is revealed." and that in turn caused me to picture Ibuki in Cynthia's clothes and I couldn't contain myself tbph.

I should also point out, in a closing statement that I did eventually beat the champions tournament with Flygon, Electivire and Espeon in the end, defeating Red (who doesn't appear in the lobby), Blue and Steven in the final to take the title, essentially doing a Leicester City.
