Dark Armed Dragon

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by having exactly 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can banish 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.

How decent is this card now, don't really play decks which can summon this asides from my  D/D D.D cross.

Funny, it has been a while since I saw it being played in the competitive environment; last time was in Dragon Shaddoll variants at around the first months of this year. But that's somewhat understandable because the only relevant DARK decks are BAs, who are xenophobic, and Shaddolls. Still, it's a potent card that used to steal games, and I wouldn't be surprised if it could still do if only someone dared to give the card a try. I can't exactly remember why the Dragon Shaddoll lost relevancy/popularity, but now I wonder if Shaddolls could revist the variant, or at least DAD as a tech, in order to deal with Qlips/Pendulum scales, destroy on-field Necloths or I don't know what else.

Wyvern is a dead draw and without wyvern DAD is just awkward in dolls.

This card is so bad. I mean, you have to have EXACTLY 3 DARKs...

Yeah! And if your opponent uses Enemy Controller or Book of Moon in it, they can kill it on their turn with their Masaki the Legendary Swordsman. Really underwhelming card, should have had at least 2500 DEF so Dark Magician wouldn't kill it after a Book of Moon.

i just realized this thing is at 1.....never thought this was on the list at all....

this is just more unreliable version of judgment dragon......need eclipse to search it early

and with no lavalval chain around, its not that easy, and if you get it late game with ton of dark in grave its most likely dead....

i dont think it will cause any problem at 3...

This is a Judgment Dragon that doesn't require you to run Lightsworn.

well some LS are just as splashable as any dark monster in non dark deck, and in dark deck this have chance of being permanently dead if you cant get it early enough or doesnt good control of dark in grave...

i'm curious why this is at 1? was this thing part of meta on the past or was there's a way to abuse this?

There was a time when this card was $350 and dominated the meta. It essentially is on summon a potential pop 3 cards AND more for free on a 2800 beater. Sure, it requires some set up, but it is incredibly crazy. Multiple Dark Armeds allow for super consistent OTKs and sheer ridicule. I survived the formats and I gotta tell you, it isn't one you want to be in

people need to realise how op this would be

at 3

you could draw it any time and getting 3 darks in grave early in the game is pretty easy, then with the first dad you could control the graveyard for your second one

basically at 3 dark decks would probably play this even if they didnt play it at 1

This card is one of the most infamously powerful of all time. It required the first (and only) emergency banlist to control its almost 100% domination.

But, being trivial to summon with highly impressive stats, a fantastic effect, and arguably the best Type/Attribute in the game makes it really easy to see why it's overpowered, even if you weren't around for TeleDAD.

I feel old when I hear people saying "Dark Armed, was that relevant once". Makes me feel like some kind of veteran player.

Still, experiencing first hand the damage this card did when it was at any more than 1, I'm perfectly fine for it to stay at 1. Sure, it fell out of favour for being a dead draw and it would probably be a bit underwhelming these days, but having it at 3 means you can build around it and make sure you get it out consistently, especially now we have Eclipse Wyvern. To be honest, though, it might be more the fault of Wyvern because that card is pretty nuts.

TeleDAD was pretty nasty. But it's kid's play to what some of these current meta Decks can do...

Tbh No. Meta Decks rn can do some crazy stuff? Yes? But comparing it to Double Dark Armed, Crush Card, spammable boards, and the field presence you had at ease back then is not something you can compare. We actually are in a tamer format than we have been in a while
