Archetype Generator Meta

Can I get an update on the queue? I would like to see what we have left.

====

I take it it's a 5D's generation fanfic then Sakura? When you have time, could you send me a copy? I wanna read it, and I could help you "publish" it.

====

Also Sakura, I prefer Series 10 OCG, mainly because I'm used to it at this point.

====

Also, as a general note, I have dropped Mersel. I tried, but everything I made for them kept making it sound like either the exact same card but with different stats, or an exact replica of a SPYRAL card.... If someone wants to take them from me, I can give you design notes for the few I did complete.

Gusto are already in.

Here's a list of DT archetypes we don't have:

●Mist Valley (haha no)

●X-Saber

●Ally of Justice (y tho)

●Ice Barrier (cue John Cena theme)

●Gishki (ABYSSAL SCREECHING)

●Gem-Knights (NOT ON YOUR PEASANT LIFE, we DO NOT need BriFu)

●lswarm (see Ally of Justice)

●technically, Genex (see Ally of Justice)

●Vylon

●tellar (no)

●Ritual Beast (yawn)

●Yang Zing

●Qli (zzzzzz)

●Infernoid (plz no)

●Nekroz (extra no)

Through a technicality, we do have two Zefra monsters (Shaddoll Zefracore and Shaddoll Zefraxciton).

Well, a lot of it was written from 2010 (so you can figure that it's very long) and I've just been adding to it whenever I got time nowadays / can be motivated. Most of the writing needs to be fixed (and yeah, it's text-heavy in the more recent stuff). Partly slice of life, some influences with Naruto and Pokémon (yeah, my Eons get a role in here somewhere).

But yeah, mostly 5Ds with a side of ZEXAL because of the season 2 main antagonists use Xyz (and mostly themed off university because I had a rough start and it has its own problems [or had at the time]). Also because some of the characters are anthro and dress weird; not all of them though.

(Plus, some of the archetypes are products of the ARC-V power creep in 5Ds)

So, Pendulum Magicians are in, as are Ice Barriers.

Fully updated queue:

Performapal (2/3 - Kyumi, Champion)

Odd-Eyes (1/3 - Kyumi)

X-Saber (1/3 - Eshai)

Gem-Knight (1/3 - Eshai)

I did bring up that I thought G-K would be a bad idea because there are a lot of potential problem cards there (BriFu, Lapis Lazuli, potentially even Seraphinite), but I won't push the point more than that.

I'm fine with Gem-Knights as long as we don't get Brifu AND Seraphinite; one or the other, not both. I would rather just not have Seraphinite, as I would like to see the potential splashing of the other Gem-Knight Fusions in decks with Brifu's genericness.

The problem with Brilliant Fusion is that it's a from-Deck Fusion Continuous Spell, which can be reused 10 times with the Sacred Tomes (assuming that you carry monster-based backrow removal to get over Retrieval of the Sacred Tome every time it comes out; if not, it could potentially get infinite uses). That's really, really not good.

I would honestly prefer just Seraphinite over just BriFu, because people would have to manually make Seraphinite, meaning that you would have to run more than just 3 Garnet to try to use the angelic rock as an engine piece.

That's just my perspective, though.

Meh, I'll give X-Sabers another push, though yeah, it'll be on all of us not to find something that abuses the sheet out of them (or any of the outside stuff that got imported). Should be fine.

I'll support Gem-Knights and the problem here is obviously BriFu / Seraphinite; on its own, it's an engine, but because someone in here made a Deck that'll abuse it apparently, yeah. You all vote on what you want and don't want from it; honestly don't care.

. . . sigh . . .

I'll finish adding X-Sabers because why not, and I'm putting Melodious in here to potentially benefit from things like Platune Sergeant Song Dragon.

Updated queue:

Performapal (2/3 - Kyumi, Champion)

Gem-Knight, caveat TBD (2/3 - Eshai, Sakura)

Odd-Eyes (1/3 - Kyumi)

Naturia (1/3 - Sakura)

Melodious (1/3 - Draconus)

Sure, I'll vote Melodious. I did try to pick them up in my Fusion craze, but wasn't able to properly work them. I'll also vote for Gem-Knight if we get Seraphinite and not Brifu. That's fine with me.

Not voting for Performapal or Odd-Eyes, just because I don't really like them, and neutral towards Naturia. Never encountered Beast much, and the only time I ever played them was for their MD locking ability, which got old really fast.

As an aside, what are we lacking in the AGM pool? Like Types, strategies, or Sub-Types. (Synchro, Pendulum etc.) Just curious if I should particularly choose something for my next project when I'm finished with Yollohcoatl, as I tend to come up with design notes beforehand.

Well, it's December, so it's about that time.

For archetype name, It's going to be one of these:

Übeldrache

Übelindwurm

Bösedrache

An archetype of Dragon monsters. All the monsters are named after infamous figures from history (people such as Gaius Caligula, Olga of Kiev, and Vlad Țepeș to name a few). One effect they each share is either self-Tributing effects or Tributing monsters to activate their effects (examples: You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Übeldrache" monster with a different name from your Deck to your hand; Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 monster monster you control; add 1 "Übeldrache" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand). That's not to say that Tributing is the only part of their effects. They can still do other things with their effects (example: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Übeldrache" monster with a different name from your hand. You can Tribute this card; draw 1 card). So you're not 100% screwed if your opponent happens to activate Mask of Restrict. Capable of Summoning generally any Extra Deck monster (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, perhaps even Pendulum).

Now, if any of you are still busy with school/college or any other real life life occupations, that's fine. You can submit entries any time, so there's not rush. However, you can submit no more than 3 for the initial topic. So think carefully if you want to submit 1 of each (Spell, Trap, Monster), all 1 Type (only Monsters, Spells, Traps) and what kind (Main Deck or Extra).

I shall generate each of these, unless you wish to generate your entries. Though if there is any image you want me to use, you can provide it with your submission.

Here one entry I will submit for an example:

rD7PR3P.png

Though it's not final, so you guys can decide out of the three names what the archetype's name will be.

@Nyx Sounds Good. I think I'll probably only do Spell/Trap support because I'm a bit... "dragon'd out".

This might be the next prompt I do:

Forsaken

Forsaken is an archetype of FIRE Winged-Beast monsters. The deck has no extra deck, but makes up for it by pendulum summoning members, then getting to pendulum summon again. To make them more aggressive, their OTK card allows this double pendulum summon to happen in the battle phase since the members are destroyed after attacking.

...but I've also been looking for a Spellcaster archetype to do since I don't think I've done one for the AGM.

So, Nyx, are you going to open up a group PM like we did with the previous collaborative archetypes, so that we don't wind up with multiple cards with the same basic function?

I've already got some ideas for Übeldrache, and I don't want to wind up with there being like nine different search cards again (oh hai Moyufutsusa).
