Sorry about a list instead of a picture but my tablet doesn't do that. Anyways, I know the first thing everyone's gonna say is "why 3 Mirror Sages?" Well for me the card has given me the life points I've needed when I didn't have them and the ability to also be a searcher greatly helps this deck as he's saved my ass countless times. The side deck is mostly just stuff use against the meta.

If the standard is similar to the standard in the UK, expect 60-70% meta decks.

Bring dice, a pen, a notepad, a bottle of water and english translations if you have any foreign/pre-errata cards.

Be prepared for the possibility that it finishes very late, a regional I went to finished at 10:30 and iirc a London regional a few years ago finished at midnight.

Make sure you go through all the motions to avoid getting sharked.

Smile :)

Unless you know there's a food place nearby, take a sandwich or something because there won't necessarily be somewhere close.

Keep all your possessions on you at all times.

Wear deodorant

If it's possible, pre-register on Facebook. It'll guarantee you a spot and let you jump the queue.

Pile shuffle both yours opponent's deck at the start of every match. They're unlikely to be cheating but it doesn't hurt and lets you know how many cards your opponent is playing/if you've lost a card in your deck.

Make sure you have a new set of sleeves and check them for nicks and marks regularly.

which cards do u have multiples off?

Thunder King Rai-Oh

Effect Veiler

Creature Swap

Raigeki

Vanity's Emptiness

Royal Decree

Bottomless Trap Hole

Fiendish Chain

These are the ones I have multiples of. Why? Should I be running any more of one of these?

Thanks. I already planned ahead as I took the day off of work to go. ;)

Rather unfortunately, half the cards you've listed there are limited XD

The only really good Side Deck cards there are Thunder King and Veiler. TKing is limited so you can only side 1, then side as many Veiler as you own.

Some of the cards would be better off in the main deck. 3 Lance and 3 MST is way too much as there will be a lot of Nekroz and Shaddoll which don't play a lot of backrow or Pendulums or anything you'd want to MST. I'd maindeck Vanity's, Bottomless, Raigeki and perhaps Fiendish Chains over them. Side MSTs for Pendulum decks and perhaps Lances if you don't have anything better.

If possible, try and find/get hold of Shadow-Imprisoning Mirrors and Mistakes (very important against Nekroz). It's possible to pick up cards before the event just by walking round asking people.

Thanks. I've been playing with MSTs and Lances for a while now and they've done me good, but I've never really used them against a meta deck yet. I'll try your advice and test them out. One thing I have noticed is I tend to use Full Armor over MST for removal. Is there any cards I should be worrying about if I drop the Lances? Would the meta destroy by spell/traps or by monster effect?

vanitys and monster effs

and lance doesnt protect u from those

u should maindeck 2 fiendish and 1 vanities over the 3 lance

as for side ill get to u later but for now have it something like

1 raioh

3 veiler

1 maxx c

1 ghost ogre

1 raigeki

maybe some dark holes

would be good to have mistakes, shadow mirrors, maybe chaos trap holes, possible thay non fusion area card, fairy winds or twisters against pendulums and floods

u already have an out to towers aka honest so no need to side anything for it

The meta generally does use monsters for field clearance. Nekroz have Trishula (which is something you will have to be very wary of); Shaddoll have Dragon, Squamata and Construct; Qli have Stealth and Carrier; Tellars have Triverr.  BA's main form of removal is Fire Lake, but Lance doesn't do much against that anyway. Honestly, Lance isn't useful at all this format.

Oh, and just another word of warning, if you've not tested or practiced against meta decks, don't expect to be able to do really well. For a regional, people will generally test a few weeks prior to the event to optimise their build and to know their matchups. Test on DN as much as possible, preferably against meta decks.

The best thing is this deck makes 4000 monsters so I almost always have an out to towers.

Here's hoping I can get on the computer to test. But if I do I'll be to test the shot outta it.
