"Sworm - A fiend archetype that goes for the deck-out win condition. They summon themselves in defense then have hand and graveyard traps to prevent leaving the field. They then have an XYZ monster that can restock the deck while emptying your opponent's."

When a Fiend-Type monster you control is targeted for an attack: You can discard this card; until the end of the Damage Step, the attack target cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.

During either player's turn, if a "Sworm" monster(s) you control is targeted by an opponent's card effect: Banish the top 2 cards of your opponent's Deck for each "Sworm" monster being targeted by that effect.

You can only control 1 face-up "Sworm Mastermind".

Excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, you can add 1 excavated "Sworm" card to your hand, also send the remaining cards to the Graveyard. You cannot activate the effects of cards sent to the Graveyard this way for the rest of this turn. You can only activate 1 "Excavating Sworm" per turn.

Discard 1 "Sworm" monster; draw 2 cards. You can only activate 1 "Sworm Cycle" per turn. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card.

 

Sworm Sacrifice

Quick-Play Spell

Tribute 1 "Sworm" monster you control, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target, and if you do, banish cards from the top of your opponent's Deck equal to the destroyed monster's Level/Rank.

 

Steel Sworm

Until the end of this turn, "Sworm" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; until the end of this turn, "Sworm" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects.

If you control a face-up Defense Position "Sworm" monster and your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card: Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it, then banish the top 3 cards of your opponent's Deck.

 

So, yeah, I love mill, but it's a shame that it's not viable in Yugioh due to the sheer number of Graveyard interactions. The Graveyard's more or less become everyone's secondary hand - maybe primary for certain Decks. Then I saw the Battle for Zendikar Eldrazi and had the big idea of milling by banishing from the Deck. Certain archetypes won't exactly mind their cards being banished, but it will be a big bother to many others.

 

To emphasize their main archetype goal, they have zero offensive presence without their boss monster, but have the ability to NS in Defense Position so they have their decent DEF scores at ready from the get-go. The boss' main ability to perform Psychic Spiral on the opponent requires you to have a loaded Graveyard for maximum mileage, so I had some Grave-filling mechanics to complement it.

 

The archetype will be developed and expanded over time.
