MAID

A Maid Role Playing Game

Actual logo to be maid at a later date

"Things you probably won't need: Shame" - An excerpt from the game book

[spoiler=What is MAID?]MAID is a Japanese tabletop role-playing game, translated into English back a few years ago. In it, players take the role of maids, competing with each other for the master(typically played by the Game Master)'s affections while living out their daily lives in the mansion. The three Ms, Maids, Master, Mansion, form the core that drives each game session forward. Aside from those three however, the setting and tone and various other aspects of the story can be adjusted to each session's needs, making this a very flexible game.

The Young Maids Club(YMC, not YCM) serves as a place for those of us who want to play together can do so in a more organized way. Club activities include recruiting people for a session, GMs posting finished sessions, and players discussing various aspects of the game, among other things.

Additionally, the above link can summarize why you should play MAID better than anything I can ever type out. Give that a read, 's not very long.

[spoiler=How to play]http://www.maidrpg.com/index.shtml

The above is the official site. You may purchase the .pdf officially from there. I also have a link to the .pdf itself for those who want it.

The rulebook is only a necessity for the Game Master to keep track of random events and the various rules as we play through the game. With that said you definitely should give the first 30 pages of that 222-pages document a read to understand the core rules(The first 7 pages are like, blank anyway).

Suppose you don't want to read 30 pages, the above will suffice as a barebones page on the core mechanics. Except seduction. That's an optional rule.

Either way the GM can and should explain the rules to you as you go along should you not remember anything perfectly anyway. We're not a super elitist club, take it easy.

The above is a character generator some amazing person made. Most of your stats and traits and pretty much everything is determined by roll so it should save a lot of time.

The minimum headcount for each session is 3. One to act as the GM, and two for the maids. Having only one maid means there's no real competition going on and would ruin the point of the game.

[spoiler=Format]We will use google documents, which has real-time editing as well as a chat feature, to do our sessions. Alternatives include a normal chatroom or specialized tabletop RPG applications but for now, google docs.

Rather than having a specific schedule, we can just post here or in the skype chat whenever one of us are in a mood for a session, and see if we have enough people on who are willing to play.

[spoiler=Rules]1. All basic and club rules can and will apply.

2. Don't be an asshat.

3. You must like maids.

4. Have fun, yada yada yada.

5. Participation in game sessions are encouraged but not mandatory. Each session shouldn't have too many players in the first place. 3-5 is ideal or so I've read.

[spoiler=Club member list]

  1. Me, I guess.
  2. Azure Wolf
  3. Gadjiltron
  4. JustYui
  5. Wildflame
  6. Nai
  7. British Soul
  8. Dae

To join, just post with your preferred YCM name. Skype ID is optional but would make communicating easy.

Now, I'll be up for a few hours, so who wants to play a session right now?

I legit originally was going to do it but I like locking things so...

also makes the thread less cluttered imo.

Also, can I join?

I don't understand but I'm game./

Welcome, welcome.

Basically, you know Dungeon n' Dragons? We'll be playing that.

But with maids.

Online.

So far results regarding emulating tabletop play haven't been the most satisfactory but I have hope.

Would ask if anyone wants a game now but I'll be gone for half a day~

I'm interested but i still don't understands, can i join? @.@

In the mean time i'll try to learn it.

EDIT : oh wait . . . is it for 16+? u.u

Some runs probably will be 16+ but that can be changed. Depends on how risque players are willing to be with their narrating.

Apparently everyone's still kinda confused about how this works. I've decided to link the PDF in the OP post, screw the rules.
