"I'll be ready next time. If you get in my way again I'll make sure to kill you first."

Randy did his best to shield the rock shards that Allie threw, but watching the Tyranitar leave actually brought a small smile to his face. They had won...and against one of these so called "Godslayers" no doubt!

"Dammit, can't let her get away."

"Wait! P-please don't go! If you do then you're just gonna keep fighting. And if you do then you're gonna get hurt more and - and, that'd be really bad. Please don't fight anymore today."

He glanced over to look at Moltres and Marie before nodding. "K-Kid has a point, Moltres..." he said, heavy breaths between each word. "Y-You going after her...after the damage she gave you...t-that is a suicide mission." he said, moving slightly to sit down on the ground with a groan. "T-This is a victory for you Moltres...y-you won...she lost."

Randy pumped a hand into the air some, with a small sigh. "B-Besides..." he began. "T-Those eyes of hers...she wasn't going to stop. Those were the eyes of a determined fighter...though...her eyes were much more, fierce than anything I've ever seen..."

Brooke shook her head, smiling at Sebastian, an action that pulled up her lips, flashing razor sharp incisors. “Don’t care for sweets all that much, myself. They don’t sit well with me, and they’re usually not very filling,” she explained to the Gallade. “Too much of a rarity in Deku anyways. Growing up there, you’re less worried about getting candy, and more concerned with where your next meal’s gonna come from.”

She piled her plate high, taking nearly one serving of everything that wasn’t sugar-based. “You learn not to be picky. Shut your brain off and eat whatever you’ve gotta to survive. Ration out what you do find to make it last as long as possible.” For a second, she was far away from the dining room, back in the streets of Deku with Sada and the crew. They had been successful, successful enough for Sada to become a legend, but they still had times where the food was tight and one of the older members (Sada, Phineas, or her usually) had to give up their food to make sure the younger two ate well.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts and glanced over at Dora. The little girl had fallen asleep with her popsicle half-eaten, melting, a pool of sticky sugar-water slowly enveloping her face. “I’ll never understand how she does it,” she muttered, gently picking Dora up and setting the child in her lap, her head resting on her shoulder.

“Sorry,” Brooke whispered to Sebastian. “She’s not really used to traveling. Do you have a few blankets, or something I could use to make her a pallet?” As she was talking, she started to clean the little Wooper’s face up, licking her thumb and then wiping away the remnants of the popsicle.

Team Showdown, Day 28, Icecrown

Diancie nodded as the two gave their answers. As Scarlet moved for a handshake Diancie shook her head. "Apologies, wouldn't be the first time I was tricked by a handshake." She glanced at the other two, first the Xatu, who was silent for several moments while Diancie waited for them to respond. When they didn't the Legend moved on to Isole.

"I'm here because...it's somewhere to go." She said, seemingly embarrassed by her lack of goal.

Diancie considered their words for a while. "People really like treasure, don't they? Going through all this trouble for something like that. But at least you're not here to kill me, that's been happening lately I've heard. Dreadful business." She paused and her mouth made an "o" shape as she seemed to think of something. "If you want some of my treasure, surely you should prove your worthy, shouldn't you? Yes, I think that's a good idea." Diancie got up and, hovering very slightly off the ground, leaned towards the group. "How about it? Are you willing to fight for your reward?"

Team Karaoke, Day 25, Road to Northshore

Gwen tried not to think of the idea of Nine meeting her parents and vice verse. It was far too bizarre of a thought. In any case it looked like they had a destination in mind. The same destination they already had planned.

Gwen took it upon herself to, once the wagon was freed, talk to the owners and explain where it was they wanted to go. They seemed to be delighted, finding out that the group was heading for the same place as them, and were happy to allow them to hop on the wagon with them. Though it was fairly cramped.

Fiona seemed to be a bit disappointed that they wouldn't be going to Trailsau. However her demeanor seemed to become more cheerful the farther from Adarid City that they went. After the first day of travel she was even smiling, seemingly to be much more relaxed than before. Though she would often clutch her necklace and grow silent for a time.

While they traveled Gwen told them about her family, to pass the time. She had several younger siblings, and parents who were, and it took her a while to come up with a polite term to use, flaky. She often took care of her siblings, and the other children around the city. When she spoke about this she trailed off for a moment, glancing at Lok before continuing on. She ended up asking Nine and Lok to tell them about their families.

Three days later, with two more days of travel left by wagon to get to Northshore, the driver was forced to stop by an unexpected roadblock.

A man. A very tall man. Who was standing in the middle of the road, silent, still, completely un-moving. When the driver called out to him the man didn't so much as turn his head in their direction.

"We can't very well go around him, the guy takes up the whole road." The driver said, somewhat nervous that it was some sort of ambush.

Team Alola, Day 7, Northshore

Moltres sighed at Marie's words, seemingly to deflate in the face of an unhappy child. Randy's comments made her cringe. "I know, I know that!" She looked at the place Allie had been before. "She'll go after another...we don't have much time. We can't just sit around anymore..." She turned her attention, and her fury, on the mercenaries standing guard by the gate to the mansion. They flinched as she approached them but didn't seem ready to back down. "Move, I have business in there, and I'm in a REALLY bad mood."

They looked ready to refuse, even knowing what would happen it they did, but then an odd, dazed look came over them. It was as though they were listening to something from far off. And then, without speaking, they opened the gate for Moltres. "About damn time." The Legend muttered, heading for the gate. She paused at the threshold and looked back at the group. "I didn't need it but...thanks, for trying to help, it's...good to know people are still on our side." With that she continued on and the gate was closed behind her.

Things slowly began to die down on the outside. However the group would encounter one more issue. A mercenary, older, potentially their leader, came up to the group soon after. "You there, newcomers from a different land. I hate to be the bearer of bad news yet...Your presence seems to have attracted some trouble. To keep this city safe I feel it might be necessary for you to move on."

Team Mac, Day 20, Road to Weynon

As the Scolipede was about to bite down onto Mac's shoulder and whip her across the ground, it was suddenly hit by a relatively heavy object. Turning with a hiss it noticed that said object was one of the two Lombre. Having been shoved into her side by Kazo. Added to that, the Lombre was unlucky enough to activate her Poison Point and the poison was in the process of sapping the last of the Lombre's health.

The Scolipede opened her mouth wide and prepared to launch a flurry of Poison Stings at the weakened Dragon. But then Mac called out. "Hey ugly, trying to run away?" As they turned towards the girl, Mac grinned up at her, the Electric type's hand on the ground. She pulsed energy through the ground and shot out a torrent of mud, slapping the brigand in the face.

The Scolipede reared her head back and began wiping at her eyes. She started to shoot her Poison Stings in random directions, unable to focus on any one spot.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 28, Mioter

"Is something wrong Mai? Is there something I don't see...?"

The Skitty frowned, trying to figure out how best to explain things to Denku. The Torkoal got closer, looking a bit panicked. "Mai, what are you doing? You can't possibly think..." Torkoal looked at Denku, leaned in close, and the Pupitar would feel an unusual pressure. "Why is she fixated on you and your group? What are you really here for?" There was a silence, ended when the old man gasped. "This can't...you fought Kyurem? How is this possible?"

-----

Sebastian smiled at Brooke's actions. "You truly are like her mother aren't you?" He looked at the others in the group, enjoying their antics, and then back at Brooke. "Family is important isn't it? I'm sure you'd do anything for that girl I can sense it. That's good, in this world...you have to give your all for those you love."

He gave a soft chuckle. "Yes I can get some blankets for the girl. It is getting late, as well, so perhaps soon I should show you all to your rooms, if it pleases you."

Kazo had a smirk on his face as he watched the Lombre get poisoned, the last of his health sapping away. That was satisfying, to say the least. But then... the boss went to fire some Poison Stings at him, only for Mac to throw mud in her face. The Scolipede began to desperately wipe at her eyes, before firing a flurry of Poison Stings in random directions.

"Crap, crap!" Kazo muttered as he dived to Mac, grabbing her, and doing his best to get underground, all while using his body as a shield for her. When he managed to get underground, he panted a bit, looking up. "So boss, would you like me to open a hole in front of this bandit, so you can pop out and hit her with all you got?" He asked. She fought the Scolipede the most, she probably deserved the biggest hit.

Denku watched Mai as she tried to explain to him. It was saddening to him... he could imagine her being a chatterbox if she could speak though. He waited though, being patient. Trying to rush her would not help. The old man looked over, confused and desperate.

"Well, I don't know if fighting would be the right word. It was more of a desperate struggle to to stay alive while protecting the people of Coldharbour," Denku muttered. He wasn't sure if bringing up Xerenas would help his cause here or not, so he decided to stay quiet about it. "It wasn't like we were alone though. Another legend... one named... Deoxys, I believe... spent the whole night fighting him...," He shook his head. "As for what I'm really here for... well... the mayor guy apparently knows everyone in town, and yet didn't know you, and you were very jumpy around everyone, even two little kids who are honestly too innocent for this world. Coupled with Mai not speaking, I came to the conclusion that you might not be on the up and up, if you know what I mean," He didn't want to say in front of Mai that he thought the Torkoal was abusing her. "So I came to try to see if I could figure out what was going on,"

"Deoxys...No, the mayor does not know me, I keep to myself these days." The old man replied. He looked at Mai. "She has never been able to speak, yet, she has her own ways of conversing. There are many who might mistreat her...I merely keep them from doing that. I owe her that much."

"I see...," He nodded as he listened to his words. It seemed reasonable enough... Mai wasn't afraid of the old man, that was for sure. "Well, you cleared up my one question I had, but you provided me with another one. How did you know I faced Kyurem? As far as I can tell, you're not a psychic type,"

"When you grow as old as me, you can spot patterns like that simply." The old man looked over at Mai. "And who says only Psychics can have powers, after all." Denku raised a finger, and then put it down.

"I can't even argue that. Even I have a move I shouldn't be able to do," He stood back up to his feet, following the old man's eyes as he looked at Mai. Wait... could it be? It couldn't be that easy... but... what was the harm of asking? "So, this may be an odd question," Denku stated as he stretched. "But... you wouldn't have happened to have met Lugia during any point of your life, would you? And that wouldn't have anything to do with Mai, would it?"

This was stupid, and he knew it, but... the last few times he wasn't direct, things went south.

"Lugia... there was a time everyone here had met him. He was once the patron of the city you know, some day he built it himself...It has been many years since he put foot down here."

"I see...," Denku said. "Well, we met him on the way here, and he wanted us to protect 'The Child'," He said, putting air quotes around the phrase. "He was very cryptic about it, so we have no idea who that child is. After talking to you just now, I'm starting to think maybe Mai is 'The Child'," He explained. "And if you are protecting her from... whatever it is, I'll offer my services to help you protect her. If I'm wrong, or you don't want my help, I'll just move on. I have other business in this city, after all,"

"Why..." The man hesitated, and Mai grabbed onto his hand, looking at him in concern. "I see. You want the truth, correct? ...Tomorrow, come to the Psychic Guild at the center of the city, at noontime. Many truths will be revealed." He paused, closed his eyes, and murmured something unintelligible. Then, "Bring your allies."

"Alright... I'll be there then," Denku stated. He looked down at Mai. "We'll see you tomorrow then, alright?" He said as he went to walk away. "Best of luck to the both of you," Mai waved energetically as the Torkoal sighed.

"Perhaps."

Denku was surprised, to say the least. That didn't go nearly as badly as he thought it would. With that encounter finished, he decided to head to the market, slipping back into his mask and cape. Time to see if he could find hints about his brother.

"I know, I know that! She'll go after another...we don't have much time. We can't just sit around anymore..."

Randy could somewhat understand Moltres' anger, after all, Allie was a Godslayer and from what Morgan's father said, they were killing Legendaries. He huffed slightly, only shrugging as he didn't know what else to do. He only watched as the Moltres got herself past the guards and only stopped quickly and turned.

"I didn't need it but...thanks, for trying to help, it's...good to know people are still on our side."

"We did...we did what we thought was right." Randy said, flashing a small smile, in which his snaggletooth showed. "After all...what kind of world would it be without any Legendaries?" he chuckled before sighing slightly. He turned back to glance at Marie and Keanu, before lifting up his right arm for Moltres to see. "Moltres! ...keep yourself alive. I really don't want it to be a situation where we saved you for nothing, alright?"

With his right arm and fist held up, he made a thumbs up motion before glancing over his right shoulder. "Stay safe and if we ever see Allie again, we'll make sure we kick her ass for you!" he said with a hearty laugh. Finally the Incineroar lowered his arm and sighed before shaking his head. "Well...can't believe we just saved a Legendary."

Randy felt this was the moment for celebration now. This was a feat that was worth celebrating, after all! But...things weren't going to be like that. The Incineroar turned some and noticed an older Braviary male, most likely the Mercenary leader. He was probably here to thank them for standing up against that Go-

"You there, newcomers from a different land. I hate to be the bearer of bad news yet...Your presence seems to have attracted some trouble. To keep this city safe I feel it might be necessary for you to move on."

"W-What...?" Randy simply asked, almost dumbfounded by what the Braviary said to them. This Mercenary...was telling them to leave? And they...attracted... At this point, the Incineroar finally stood up, before turning and looking at the Braviary with a glare. "You want us...to leave? Maybe you didn't see...but that chick was going to KILL Moltres. We just stopped her and saved that Legendary Bird. And...AND NOW YOU WANT US TO LEAVE?!"

"This city is my charge, its safety is more important than any Legend. People are frightened, the day after you arrived you got into a fight with a dangerous criminal. It does not look good." the Braviary simply stated.

"We fought said dangerous criminal and sent her running with her tail between her legs! YOUR WELCOME!!" Randy growled throwing his hands in the air, before immediately turning around and started walking away. "Tch...i kēlā me kēia. I do keep forgetting we aren't on Alola. So apparently the kindness ain't shared too much...specifically around here."

"Kindness doesn't equal safety." the Braviary looked towards the mansion. "All signs of trouble must be stopped, the risk is far too great."

"Then newsflash, you probably should've stopped the Godslayer there from attack Moltres in the first place before me and my pals got into this!" the Incineroar said, glancing over his shoulder. It was obvious that he was pretty steamed at this point.

"Moltres isn't under my protection."

Randy shook his head and let out another growl. "Yeah...obviously." he said sternly, grabbing his bag and putting it over his shoulder.

"If you were to stay, what was your plan? Do you have a home here? A job?" the Braviary asked, causing the Incineroar to turn back towards him.

"We were gonna go and leave after we had some resources. Cause it's obvious some of the residents here didn't like us...either way, guess we're being FORCED now." Randy simply said, rolling his eyes slightly.

"As long as you intend to go feel free to gather resources. I can provide some if that's the concern."

"...Fine. We'll need some resources...the sooner you give it to us...the sooner we'll be out of your feathers." Randy simply growled before shaking his head, after crossing his arms.

"Give me a list of what you need and come to the outpost at the edge of the city tomorrow then. I will have it ready." the Braviary glanced over at Marie. "I suggest heading south. All roads are treacherous in some way, but that will be the safest bet."

Team Showdown - Icecrown Peak

"People really like treasure, don't they? Going through all this trouble for something like that. But at least you're not here to kill me, that's been happening lately I've heard. Dreadful business." She paused and her mouth made an "o" shape as she seemed to think of something. "If you want some of my treasure, surely you should prove your worthy, shouldn't you? Yes, I think that's a good idea." Diancie got up and, hovering very slightly off the ground, leaned towards the group. "How about it? Are you willing to fight for your reward?"

Taiga grumbled.

"Listen, Diancie right?"  She met the floating crystalized gijinka where she leaned towards them, her pockets filled with gems.  "You said we weren't here to kill ya right?  So why in the hell of all things would you want to prove our worth by fighting us.  Hell, you might get killed in the crossfire.  I ain't ever fought a legend before.  I don't know how much punishment you can even take!"  Taiga pinched the furrow of her brow.  "You are right about one thing though.  There are gijinka out there...some that are killing off Legends left and right.  Volcanion in Oasis...and all this weird stuff happening around the world...I don't think it's a safe bet to even put you on yer way to an early grave..."  Taiga scanned the room.  "I bet they have eyes all over this place...waiting to strike...waiting for us to put the hurt on each other...make it easier on them to kill all of us."  Shaking out of her lecture like state, Taiga then curled both of her fists.

"AND DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT TOOK FOR US TO EVEN GET HERE?!  Prove our worth?!  Climbing up this high should be proof enough!"  Taiga was now chomping her jaws with every word she spat.  "My leg hurts!  Almost broke in two!  Some of those idiots nearly froze to death!  My lungs aren't used to being this high up!  My skin is chafing!  I'm hungry!"  She pinched her brow before falling onto her butt in exhaustion, trying to catch her breath.  "No.  I don't wanna fight you.  I'm beat.  But I'm leaving this damn mountain with some treasure in my pocket, one way or another!"

Taiga turned her head upright, facing the legend.

"You've been alone all this time...and the first thing ya think of is fighting, like it's some test of courage or bravery or somethin' stupid like that."  Taiga sprawled out on the ground, wheezing.  "Bet it's real cozy up here...all alone with not a care in the world.  Well Princess, lemme tell you.  Down there...it ain't some test of courage.  Fightin' is a day to day occurrence.  It's life or death.  I've been fightin' since I walked out of the ocean.  I think I've proven myself by getting this far, by meetin' you.  A livin', breathin', legend."  Taiga closed her eyes for a moment.  "Yer a lot prettier than I thought you'd be..."  She said, before dozing off.

As the group continued to travel with the carriage, going on their way to Northshore, Gwendoline had told them stories of her family growing up. Things started to make sense the more she explained, and he couldn't help but feel a bit sympathetic in regards to her parents. All the same, he listened intently as the woman relayed her stories and what happened there, though was a bit confused as to why she trailed off at the end. When the question was presented to the others, though, Nine said, "well, I didn't have a family anywhere near as big as yours. Just me, my mom and my dad. My mom was a uh, rough individual. She has about as much a way with words as she does with her fists," the houndoom joked, "but all the same she was a good person. She's probably is the reason I have the work ethic I do and definitely taught me how to handle myself when words didn't. My dad..." Nine trailed off at first, trying to think of ho to phrase it. "Well, people say stuff about him, but I know he's a good person deep down. He wasn't around all that much when I was growing up, but, he also taught me a lot as well." Feeling strangely awkward having just said that Nine quickly shifted the topic saying, "but you know, there was a lot of other people to hang out with back home as well. So how about you Lok? What was your family like?"

The group continued to go forward until finally they had met with a roadblock in there way. Unsure of what was going on, Nine looked outside of the carriage, with his eyes going wide at the sight. There, in their path, was a hulking behemoth of a man who merely stood there. Motionless. Nine had heard legends of a gijinka that would block roads by falling asleep on them, but this was different. This being before them had a feeling that he had become distinctly familiar with over the past few weeks, an with a powerful feeling that hung in the air, Nine knew that he was dealing with a legend once again. While the being resembled some of a trio that he had read about, he was completely unsure who he was looking at. Cautiously, the chaser walked towards the supposed legend, calling out to it. "Excuse me. Well, I guess first I should say hello."

The legend stood there.Nine wasn't sure if it had heard him or not, but the gijinka started to move its head. Slowly. Nine wasn't sure what to do, as the man continued to go through the act of turning to face him over what felt like a minute. And then he faced him. Still silent. Unsure of what was going on, Nine just gave a bit of an awkward wave to the man. "Hello."

The air trembled from the power behind the man's voice, and it caused Nine to instinctively gulp, realizing how far out of his league he was with this one. With an awkward, "hi," the man continued to stand there. Another moment passed of silence. Trying to figure out what was going on here, the man said, "excuse me but allow me to introduce myself. I'm Nine. Who might you be?"

The two stood staring at each other in silence once again. Twenty more seconds passed as the legend finally replied. "Me."

"Oh. Well, um." That had gotten him nowhere. "What might you be doing here?" A few seconds passed.

"Standing."

"Right." Nine was starting to become unsure whether he should've felt annoyed, terrified or just confused at the being before him. Shaking his head the man then said, "Why are you just standing here?"

"Arrived."

"Of course."

Marie's eyes lit up with joy as Moltres seemed to agree to not wanting to fight anymore. However, she seemed a bit disappointed when the legend seemed to want to get a move on and deal with business elsewhere. While the girl seemed reluctant to thank them, when she did Marie brightened up again and waved saying, "goodbye Moltres! It was nice meeting you!" After the legend left, Marie simply stood there for a bit saying, "man, she was cool. When I grow up I want to be just like her." While there was a clear look of admiration in the girl's eyes, this deflated a bit as she said, "well, maybe not "just" like her." She was kind of rude after all.

It was then that the mercenaries had come over and told them it was time for them to go. Both from the scene and out of the city. Marie was clearly upset by this and even more so as she had just remembered that they stood there and watched while Moltres and the bully were fighting each other. Seeming a bit huffy herself, nodding a bit as Randy continued to talk with the man about what just happened. When all was said and done though, the girl seemed to lighten up as the man had promised them supplies for their journey. Marie had never actually gone exploring before, but from what she remembered about her time on the boat she figured she had a good idea. Looking to the others she said, "well, I guess we need to get some food, and drinks and like, medicine or something right?" Thinking on it more the girl said, "we should also probably go tell Morgan about this too." The girl seemed to become a bit more downtrodden as she realized she was going to have to say goodbye to her new friend so soon.

Ari panted as he lay there on the ground. He would just rest for a moment. Just...a moment. The world swam before his eyes as the Litleo leaned his head against a nearby tree.

When he came to, he saw that Kazo and Mac looked to have the fight well in hand. Good. He would join them, just...not right now. He closed his eyes once more, his body relaxing as he recovered his strength against the tree.

Easter ate and ate and ate. And ate some more. And when he was full, he sat back, wiping his mouth demurely with a handkerchief. He didn't even burp, politely letting the gas hiss out of his mouth almost silently instead. The very image of a prim and proper lady, were it not for the heap of empty plates in front of him.

"Oh my, that was delicious," he cooed. "My thanks to the cook," he nodded graciously.

He listened to Brooke's story with cultured shock. "My!" he gasped, perhaps a bit more stiffly than he would have in company he actually trusted. "You poor, poor dear, deprived of candy!" he didn't mean for that to come off the way it did, as if he were pitying the Emboar, but for Easter, not being able to eat sweets was one of the greatest sins there was. He would know, he was making up for an entire childhood without them.

Sebastian smiled at Brooke's actions. "You truly are like her mother aren't you?" He looked at the others in the group, and then back at Brooke. "Family is important isn't it? I'm sure you'd do anything for that girl I can sense it. That's good, in this world...you have to give your all for those you love."

Easter frowned. Perhaps it was his newfound suspicion, but he didn't like the amount of attention the psychic type was heaping on Brooke. He wasn't too surprised that the man wasn't favoring him the same way, as he might have already figured out his true sex, but...well, he felt a certain amount of protectiveness flare inside. Which was surprising, as he normally didn't give two figs about anybody, much less adults, much less adults who could take care of themselves like Brooke, but... Well, she had helped him out, and so he would do the same. Even if it meant he had to go up against mayors who lacked a sense of personal space.

Said mayor gave a soft chuckle. "Yes I can get some blankets for the girl. It is getting late, as well, so perhaps soon I should show you all to your rooms, if it pleases you."

"Yes, please do," Easter simpered, and hoped he'd get to share a room with at least one of the others. If he couldn't, then he wanted to be nearby, in case something happened. Honestly, he was getting less suspicious that Sebastian would do something shifty and more suspicious he would try to make a pass at Brooke. Hopefully he would understand the meaning of hospitium, and refrain from such behavior while the fire type was a guest in his house.

Moltres made to go after the rock type, which, honestly, Keanu was just done. If she wanted to just go and waste the life they had saved, then so be it. She was an idiot, and it would just prove that some people had the right idea, and the gene pool would be better for her absence.

Unfortunately, Marie and Randy decided to be busybodies like usual, which probably saved the idiot bird's life, and then things heated up once more when the mercenary decided now would be a fine time to kick them out.

"See, this is why we don't get involved in fights way over our head," Keanu sighed, stretching his arms. He really wanted to say "I told you so," but refrained.

"Give me a list of what you need and come to the outpost at the edge of the city tomorrow then. I will have it ready." the Braviary glanced over at Marie. "I suggest heading south. All roads are treacherous in some way, but that will be the safest bet."

"Well, I guess we need to get some food, and drinks and like, medicine or something right?" Thinking on it more the girl said, "we should also probably go tell Morgan about this too." As soon as the water type finished talking Keanu approached the Braviary and rattled off a list of goods. "Actually, I'm going to need--" he mentioned multiple berries, "--and then some--" he was running out of flour and Pamtre berry syrup, "and if you have some more Poké that'd be nice too," he finished with a cheeky grin.

He turned to Marie right afterward. "Oh eh, we'll have to say bye to dat little furball," he mused. Honestly, he wasn't really sure what to think about her, a bit bowled over by her exuberance. In some ways, she seemed to be his opposite. The Popplio seemed to really like her though, likely the two had bonded more because of their similar ages.

It was at that moment actually that the group saw a little brown blur separating itself from the crowd, zipping to a stop in front of Marie and revealing itself to be the Eevee in question. "Wow, that was so cooool!" the girl drew the words out, eyes shining. "First you were like, don't swear, then she was like, doink, then you were like, ow, then that girl was like, grr, then you were like, no, then they were like, rawr, then you," she turned to Randy, "were like, growl, then they were like, fire, then you both were ow and then stuff happened," she shrugged. "But anyway, that was cool! I wanted to go and help, but everybody around me was holding me back and I couldn't reach you, sorry," she drooped, before brightening. "Oh, oh, do you think you can teach me some of that?" she asked. "Mother and father never ever want to teach me anything like that, they say it's too uncivilized and stuff," she made a face.

"Uhh actually," Keanu started awkwardly, "Probably not gonna happen. Sorry. We're being kicked out."

"Wait, what?!" the Eevee gasped out, before turning to the Braviary. "Why?! What did they do wrong?"

The Braviary didn't look happy at this development. "They didn't do anything wrong. But there's a chance that woman will return if they stay here, and someone could get hurt." He glanced at the crowd before lowering his voice. "Look around, they're frightened, would you have these three stay here when it's like this?"

"Yeah but they kicked butt!" Morgan whisper-shouted back. "And what if that woman comes back and tries to attack the town too? I'd rather have some allies on my side if that happens."

"I am sorry young lady, but...it's too much of a risk."

The Eevee pouted and stamped her foot before recovering herself. "Okaaay," her ears drooped, but she didn't try and persuade the man anymore. She seemed to know enough not to try to push things. At that point, she seemed to be thinking things over, a frown on her face, nose scrunched up as she thought. "Hmm, but then, they won't be too happy, but then, I kind of want to learn, but then, I want to prove I'm not like him, but then, these are my friends," she muttered to herself. Eventually she heaved a sigh and straightened, turning to the trio. "Then I'm going with you!" she declared, making a strange pose.

"Uhhh, I'm not so sure that's a good idea," Keanu sweatdropped, turning to the other two for help.

“If you would, that’d be great,” Brooke told the Gallade, fixing Easter with an odd look. Why’s he concerned all of the sudden? She hadn’t noticed him showing anything she would call fondness for anyone outside the children, stubbornly maintaining his Devil-May-Care persona.

“By the way… Have you seen Denku?” she asked Easter quietly. “He’s been gone longer than I thought that he would be.” Brooke knew it wasn’t her job to keep track of a grown man, but they were all part of a team, and she wasn’t comfortable when the team was divided.

"How about it? Are you willing to fight for your reward?"

Fighting you is a reward on its own for me.

Tianzi was silent through the entirety of the meeting with Diancie. He had come there with a purpose although she didn't expect to be led directly towards a legendary during this quest. Nevertheless, that was pretty neat as a turn of event. He had come so far, and now he would reap the reward-

Or at least, perhaps later. Tianzi listened through the entirety of Taiga's rant and couldn't help but be amused by it. Well, it was true that they're really damn tired after scaling the mountain, but it's not like they could just go down there without bringing anything as a reward.

"Legendaries like you always thinks so strangely...I would be fine with whatever, but facing the might of those that were venerated in stories sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I couldn't miss."

As well as murdering one, I guess? Oh well. Even if it's not me, those rumors of people that hunted the legends down...well, they could do it in my stead if I fail.

Icecrown Team Showdown

Scarlet was surprised at Taiga's answer, although what she did say made sense. She wasn't quite sure where Tianzi stood, although it seemed like he wanted to go at it. Tianzi was right, however; this was a once in a lifetime opportunity! To test her strength against a legend - sure, it wasn't Cobalion but that didn't bother her that much. "It would be an honor to fight you, Diancie!" Scarlet took on a battle-ready stance. She turned to Taiga and winked. "Don't worry, I'll try not to beat her too badly." She could feel her blood pumping as she turned her head back to Diancie. She wore a wide, almost goofy grin, but her eyes were filled with intensity. While not quite what she had in mind, she had been waiting for something like this ever since she left her hometown.

Adarid Team Karaoke

While on the road, Gwen described her home life to the group. Her eyes glanced over to Lok for a moment as she trailed off, before bringing herself back on track. Lok still found it strange that he had never met Gwen, considering how much time she said she spent around the relatively small ghost town. He thought about this as Nine went on to describe his family, before being brought back to reality when it was his turn to share.

"O-oh right! Well, my family isn't all that big, at least in the house anyways. It's just been me, my parents, and my older sister. I have some cousins and uncles and stuff, though, that would visit sometimes." He started, shifting his position. "I haven't seen my sister in a while, although she's usually not at home. She's always been curious about the outside world. Heck, in a way she's the one that inspired me to leave my houses haha. My parents were nice, although they always seemed to be a bit busy. Especially dad; he's also a bit of an adventure himself... probably where my sister gets it, now that I think about it." He took a deep breath, glancing over at Gwen. "Since my parents were usually a bit busy, I'd spend my time with this old group of friends I had. We used to go around pranking people, especially visitors." He chuckled, looking at the roof "And then we were off to the races, chasing our own legends. I haven't seen them since..."

As they went on their adventures, they encountered a rather large roadblock. Nine went out to talk to the giant, with rather mixed results. Lok decided to stay in the wagon for now, not really sure what to do, a bit afraid of what the gigantic gijinka could do.

"Can I have pie too!?"

"If it comes out right," Kah called back on her way to the kitchen. The ingredients she rounded up should have been the right ones. She hoped.

Back at the table, meanwhile, Fawkes was quite surprised by all the various sweets laid out before her and Dora. She hadn't even seen at least half of these before! Sebastian must have been a very rich person to have all this stuff and even be able to have his house custom-made. Her gut was telling her he absolutely had something that would sell nicely if she could get her hands on it. Her brain, meanwhile, was telling her stealing from the person generously letting them stay with him wasn't smart in any conceivable way. There was some saying about that right? "Don't bite the hand that feeds" or something?

"You truly are like her mother aren't you? Family is important isn't it? I'm sure you'd do anything for that girl I can sense it. That's good, in this world...you have to give your all for those you love."

Speaking of the hand that feeds. Dora was far more relaxed about this whole situation than Fawkes, it seemed. She'd fallen asleep right there on the table, in the middle of eating. Brooke was cleaning up her face. Sebastian also offered to show everyone to their rooms. Easter seemed okay with that. Fawkes wasn't exactly opposed either, signalled by a nod of the head after Easter had asked to be shown to the rooms.

"This travel stuff sure is tiring," Fawkes commented, taking down the last bite of some sweet treat she wasn't able to identify. It had a creamy texture and was warm. Yum. Fawkes briefly wondered how that stranger's pie was coming along. Did pies always take this long? She wanted to check it out, but at the same time, she would have hated to get in the way. Seeing where she'd be sleeping tonight would have to do.

Team Mac, Day 20, Road to Weynon

Kazo, while he managed to get Mac underground, took a fair bit of stings to the back. He was injured now, though not as badly as Mac herself. Before Mac could yell at Kazo for running, he said his plan. And she liked this plan.

"Good job, finally getting the lackey thing I see." Mac said, breathing a bit heavily at this point. Her body crackled with electricity as she Charged her next attack. "I'm ready to let her have it, this gal's gonna learn to be careful who they mess with!"

While they prepared this the Scolipede, having wiped some of the mud from her eyes and noticing two of her targets were gone, turned her attention to Ari. She snarled and surged towards him, mouth wide open and prepared to bite into the young boy's neck.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 28, Mioter

Denku's trip to the market for information proved to be less than helpful. From what he gathered no one there had heard, nor seen, anything of his brother. From what he could gather the young man hadn't set foot in Mioter at least any time recently.

What he did find were the two from earlier, Sada and Phineas, arguing about if they should leave now or not, saying it was getting late and they had things to do. It seemed Sada, who was on the side of waiting, was winning the argument. They didn't notice Denku but if he wished to speak with them he could.

He also would overhear someone gossiping with a friend. "Did you hear? Horatio tried to arrest Albert, for NO reason. But Sebastian talked him out of it."
"It's a good thing we have Sebastian; that Shadow Guard would run rampart otherwise."

"I don't know why we keep them around; Sebastian is more than enough to protect the city."

----

Sebastian led the group towards where the bedrooms were, which took them past the kitchen where Kah was finishing up her pie, and down a couple more hallways. The entire way Sebastian was acting like a tour guide, telling them historical significance of the art and the style of house, evidently modeled after Johto homes, and so on.

He seemed interested in what Fawkes had said earlier, "This travel stuff sure is tiring,"

"How far have you traveled, anyway, young lady? You seem quite young for adventure."

As they reached the bedrooms, Sebastian pulled open the sliding door to let them see the interior. The rooms looked pleasant, with several mats in place of beds, and fairly large.

"Easter, you shall room with Fi, and Brooke, in the largest guest room. The children can sleep in the smaller, directly next door. When your friend comes back he will have to share the room across with Kah."

Team Alola, Day 7, Northshore

The Braviary listened to the group for a time, before nodding and telling them that they would have food and medicine ready for them tomorrow morning. As he went to leave those paying attention to him would notice he seemed tired. Like the exchange had worn him out somehow.

And still the Eevee, young Morgan, stood, waiting to see how the others would respond. The people around them seemed to be giving them glances of unease, but they didn't do or say anything to them. Especially as the nearby mercenaries were watching their actions intently.

Team Showdown, Day 28, Icecrown

Diancie seemed a bit taken aback by Taiga's rant. She watched with what appeared to be fascination as the girl spoke with such passion and vigor about not fighting her.

"I do not understand. Chasers challenge Legends all the time, at least they used to, and I have had two battles recently where we all came out unscathed. I do not crave combat but there is no quicker way to test one's spirit. I've lived for hundreds of years; I know very well what the world is like. I've seen things you cannot imagine...But if you do not wish to battle, I will respect your decision." Diancie was smiling throughout this, but then a frown crossed her face. "But this treasure was made of me, it belongs to me, and no one may leave with any of it without my permission. I can part with some for your troubles, but only a mere fraction. I feel that is fair for what you have accomplished so far."

She smiled a bit more at the last thing. "And you are not physically unappealing, I thank you for the compliment." She then turned her attention to the other two and the look on her face turned serious. "Then we shall do battle. I look forward to seeing your spirit. I suggest those who do not wish to take part stand aside."

They group would feel a surge of power as a light glow surrounded Diancie. She didn't change expression, or position, but they could feel a shift in the girl's demeanor. Previously they had been having simply a pleasant chat with another Gijinka. But now they had initiated in battle with a Legend.

She, almost lazily, raised a fist. She opened it up and in front of her dozens of shining stones appeared. They launched towards Scarlet and Tianzi. The physical objects crashing into their forms with great power. As this happened they would notice Diancie's body seemed to harden.

Isole sighed. She wasn't particularly interested in fighting. However if these two were going to...She fired a Thunderbolt at the Legend.

Team Karaoke, Day 25, Road to Northshore

Gwen listened to Lok's words with interest and a hint of frustration. She should know him. The group he spoke of felt familiar to her, she was sure she had seen them before, but why not...It was starting to give her a headache.

The trip had met an...unusual person. Lok had stayed in the wagon, as had Fiona, but Nine went out to greet the man. Gwen followed suit. Though, from the conversation so far, she wasn't sure they'd get much out of it. But the man didn't seem to have any intention to leaving and she was hoping they could find a way to get past without having to resort to violence.

"Excuse me?" She said to the man, patiently waiting for him to, slowly, take notice of her. "Would you please move out of the way? We need to get through."

"Moving."

She paused, waiting for him to, as he said, move. However he didn't. "Could you perhaps...speed things along?"

"Purpose?" It sounded like a question. Was he asking what purpose they needed to get through? Or perhaps he wanted to know why he needed to move. Gwen decided to answer both.

"We need to go to the next city, to help someone, and...you're in the way."

"Help?"

"Yes, exactly!" Gwen got excited. Perhaps he was understanding finally! She took a few steps, or rather floated closer, towards him. "Apparently someone is hurt and we need to go to Northshore to help them."

Before she got any closer she noticed a ball of shadowy energy, one similar to her own Hex, rush past her. Stopping her in her tracks.

"Step away from Master Regigigas." A cold voice sounded. Towards the right was an imposing man, who was slowly making his way towards the two. His eyes were alight with anger as he approached them. "I will allow no harm to come to him. The Legendary Golems may be dead but I will let no one touch their King."

"Well, I guess we need to get some food, and drinks and like, medicine or something right?"

Randy heard what Marie and Keanu requested, as he let out a deep sigh and waved a small hand some. "Oi. The general supplies would be nice. But...if you can be so kind...I'd like to ask if you could also give us a map of the island or something. As you said, we're not from this place...I'd rather us not be walking around in circles trying to leave you all in peace."

After he said his peace, he noticed Morgan approach and then end up getting herself hurt when Keanu told her the bad news. After a bit of an argument with the Braviary and him leaving, Randy looked at Morgan who said she'd follow them. This...this was a terrible idea. Letting out a deep sigh, he turned around and knelt down to face Morgan.

"I can't let you do that Morgan." he said, looking at the Eevee straight in the eyes. "Listen. I wouldn't forgive myself if a keiki...a child got hurt while we're out and about." he slowly moved his hand over towards Marie, pointing his thumb in the Popplio's direction. "I didn't want to see her hurt either. It's a miracle by Solgaleo that she wasn't hurt at the same level as me. And I can't really just have you hurt either. Believe me, your parents would never forgive us if something happened to you. But...you do have a lot of guts and heart, Morgan." Randy said, putting his hand on the Eevee's head, smiling. "I can tell you're gonna be an amazing person later."

He slowly stood up and turned to move away from the group, seeing the mercenaries that were around starting to tail him. "Relax! I'm just going down to the beach." he said sternly, shoving his hands into his pockets, walking away from the group and the mercenaries right now. Right now...he just needed time to think.

The breeze from the sea hit his face. It wasn't Alola, but it was just like home nonetheless. Any beach would provide with such a calming and serene atmosphere, but only Alola would bless one with right atmosphere. Randy stood there, eyes closed as he just enjoyed the sea breeze and the calming sounds of the waves hitting the shore.

He slowly started to inhale, before exhaling some. This wasn't one thing he was expecting to begin with. Actually fighting and stopping a Godslayer, saving a Legendary and actually getting their recognition in the process, and then at the end of it all...being told they had to leave because they...

"The hell is wrong with people..." he sighed, opening his eyes with a shake of his head.

"I knew you would come back!" Randy heard the voice from his right side. He turned and saw that it was the Poliwrath from earlier in the day. "You want to improve, right!?"

Is...is he...? Randy glanced at the Poliwrath for a bit. From what it looked of it, this Poliwrath seemed absolutely oblivious to everything that happened. He sighed and then turned his gaze from the Poliwrath back to the open sea. "Unfortunately, sir, I don't think I'll be doing much of that come tomorrow morning. Seems me and my friends are being forced to move on from Northshore."

"Hope it's not because they read my report!" the Poliwrath said, before pointing at Randy. "But don't shirk your push-ups while you're away! 100 in the morning! 100 in the afternoon! 100 in the evening! 200 before bed!"

The Incineroar started to chuckle, turning towards the Poliwrath. "That stuff is the only way I can focus. There wouldn't be any way for me to shirk 'em."

The Poliwrath simply looked at Randy before approaching him and clapping his hand on his left shoulder, which could feel his knees somewhat buckle from the force of it. "You have guts, kid, I'll give you that... And I'll also give you this!" At this point, Randy saw that Poliwrath moved and removed something from around his waist and handed it to him. It was a Black Belt.

Randy was speechless for a bit, taking the belt from the Poliwrath before smiling. "Thank you sir. I'll...I'll use it and wear it with pride."

"I have no doubt about that." the Poliwrath chuckled, turning with a wave before shouting at a Machop, stomping towards him. "DID I SAY IT WAS TIME FOR A BREAK?"

Heh...I think other than Morgan, that's one person I'll miss from this place. Randy thought, chuckling as he slowly put the Black Belt on underneath his regular belt. Sorta reminds me of my trainer back on Alola...heh...maybe you and him are related somehow, Charlie. he thought, glancing back at the open ocean...this time with a stronger determination.

Team Showdown: Icecrown Peak

"I do not understand. Chasers challenge Legends all the time, at least they used to, and I have had two battles recently where we all came out unscathed. I do not crave combat but there is no quicker way to test one's spirit. I've lived for hundreds of years; I know very well what the world is like. Hearing that load of Tauros, Taiga smacked herself awake, and rose up with a toothy frown.

"Did ya literally have no idea what I was sayin' you twit?  There are people after you, lady.  They want you dead.  Or can you not process that over the stupid idea of a dumb challenge?  Gotta death wish or somethin'?"  Taiga watched from the sidelines, as all of her teammates rushed off to confront the legend.  Even the most apathetic of them decided to go along with the plan of attack.  Watching Isole launch a thunderbolt almost struck her at the core.  Was she the only sane one on this team.

"So you all aren't in the mood for reason either, eh?  Why do I gotta be the voice of reason on this stupid team.  Whatever...if you all get jumped by that friggin' Scyther, don't come whining to me to come help your ugly mugs."  Making sure she was safe on the sidelines, Taiga started to pick out the crystals from the wall that she thought would sell the highest.  "Ay, Diancie...it's not as if you can't make more right.  There shouldn't be a problem with me taking more than I can handle.  Fufufufu!"  Taiga looked over her shoulder to see the legend firing off an attack that created hundreds of gems.  "JUST LIKE THAT!"

"JUST LIKE THAT!"

"I doubt they would last long enough for you to sell them."

Tianzi looked at Diancie as she was preparing her attack. It sure looked pretty, though more importantly, as expected, the powergap between him and the legend was too much for him to just use Power Swap on her. Tianzi anticipated the attack and used Teleport at the right time, moving away from the attack before he prepared a Solar Beam in response. Tianzi felt like he couldn't just Sucker Punch his way out of this either, so in which case, he would need to find opportunities to fire off Solar Beams at her instead. Though something about what Taiga said earlier was funny. Killing legends? Who would be insane enough to do that? Hahahah...well, the other people that he heard from the rumors were definitely a lot more prepared than Tianzi was. It's so funny. He had spent a lot of his time trying to track down legends for years, but lacked the method to actually deal with them.

Oh well.

He still had three lives anyway for today.

As the witch ghost had made her way over, the Chaser simply looked at her to see if she had any idea how to handle the giant better than he. Watching the woman take on the challenge, they seemed to be actually getting somewhere as the titan seemed more interested in what they were doing. However, before the conversation could go on any further, a stray ball of shadowed energy ripped through the air, causing both Nine and Gwendoline to pause. As a cold voice boomed from a figure, Nine felt a chill go down his spine as he laid eyes on the man. The stern, steeled face contrasted with the burning rage in his eye matched only with the imposing aura gave pause to Nine. He had met enough legend and godslayers over the past few weeks to realize when someone was on a completely different level, and this man certainly was.

However, as the initial shock had set in, he then realized just what the man had said. The legendary golems were dead? This one was their king? That certainly explained a few things, but only worked to open up a whole other set of questions. But there was one thing in particular that caught Nine by surprise. He turned towards his female companion with a slightly excited expression on his face saying, "wait, Gwen, he's not trying to the legend. Oh, wait he's trying to kill us, right." He then turned to face the Aegislash saying, putting his hands in the air and saying, "wait, wait. We're not trying to hurt him or anything. We were just trying to pass through this road is all."

"You expect me to accept that so easily? Many Legends have died already, I will not stand by and let you slay my Master when he is in this weakened state."

Nine was a bit flabbergasted at this response saying, "well, um, probably?" He pointed to the carriage behind him. "But, I mean- wait, who are you?"

"I am Kushiel, Disciple of Regigigas, and I am the Avenger of the fallen gods."

"Disciple?" That was not a term he was at all familiar with. Though, while he had questions now was clearly not the time for that. "Well, I mean, that's great. Because I'm Nine, Chaser and I guess uh...saver?" He internally cringed at how that sounded. "Of living gods."

"What allows you to say such things?"

"Well, I've met four legends, and each time I find one there was a godslayer trying to kill them. They're still alive, and the godslayers failed. To be perfectly honest, given our track record, I'm actually surprised you're not one."

The man's expression doesn't change but he also does not advance forward. "These are bold claims....Kneel. Kneel so I may determine if your word is true."

Nine looked confused by this, but figured that there was no point in disagreeing with the man at the moment. As such, he went to kneel. As he did, Kushiel walked over to him, smashing a fist against his palm. Nine looked a bit worried as a blade of raw aura formed in the man's hands. As he brought up the blade, he went to swing it down towards Nine's neck. Seeing death fast approaching him, Nine's knees instinctively buckled, causing his kneel to collapse and instead go prone to avoid the swing. A voice of worry, confusion and exasperation left the boy's mouth as he said, "are you trying to kill me?"

"If you are truly free of guilt you should fear not the blade of justice. There is guilt in your soul yet."

Nine looked stunned as he realized something. Or affirmed something, rather. The man he was dealing with definitely had a few screws loose. He was starting to feel like talking was becoming less and less of an option, but tried to still do it anyway. "So you're telling me if I have told you the truth about saving four legends and beating two godslayers, and that I am not here to harm him." He points towards the legend, "that sword will not hurt me?"

"The swing was merely a test. I wished to see your resolve. And now I know just how to proceed." He grabs Nine by the shoulder and yanks him up, bringing the blade to the man's neck. Nine can feel the Aura of it touching his skin, burning as it touched. "Do not let your last words be a lie. What are your intentions?"

Oh yeah. Definitely crazy. Nine gulped as the blade pressed against his neck, taking a deep breath. He knew no matter what he said there was a good chance for the Aegislash to just kill him outright, and so he could definitely feel the pressure. However, he looked him straight into his eye, taking a deep breath before explaining.  "The full truth of it is that we were going to Northshore, because a friend of mine is in desperate need of help, and I think the only thing that can help them is there. We were just moving along the road when we found your liege over there blocking the whole of it, and were just trying to get him to move off of it so we could move forward. No threats. No harm. Just traveling."

He glances at the others. "And them?"

"Half of them have been traveling with me for a few weeks now and the other half owns the carriage and we just happened upon them."

His eyes settle on Lok, and he points the blade his direction. "You, come down here, tell me your truth from your own lips."

Marie was taken aback by Morgan's sudden declaration to join them in their leaving of Northshore. At first, she was excited at the prospect of having her new join friend join in on...wherever it was they were going to go. "Really? Really, really?" However, as she bubbled over this, the girl's excitement soon died down as both of the other friends of hers were starting to seem displeased with the idea. As Randy said his piece about not wanting a kid to get hurt, gesturing to her, Marie pouted and mumbled, "but I'm an adult..." It was then that Randy had decided to go take a break and go to the beach, leaving the other three by themselves. The girl looked towards Morgan saying, "well, I want you to come along at least. But, it would be good to at least tell your parents you're going first. You don't want them to worry more than they already will, after all."

"Good job, finally getting the lackey thing I see." Mac said, breathing a bit heavily at this point. Her body crackled with electricity as she Charged her next attack. "I'm ready to let her have it, this gal's gonna learn to be careful who they mess with!"

Kazo nodded as he dug, moving ahead of where the Scolipede was going to be. When they were ready, he punched opened a hole, where Mac jumped out. With a battle cry, she punched the bandit across the face, her fist crackling with lightning before shooting out a bolt of lightning into her skull. In their blind charge, the Scolipede ran directly into her fist, causing her to fall over, knocked out.

Kazo ran over to Ari, looking over him. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked as he knelt down, checking over his body.

Denku sighed to himself as he walked back towards Sebastian's. Another dead end... he was really bad at guessing where his brother was headed. If only he had a better clue. Rubbing his neck, he decided to check his surroundings, just to see what else was in the city. He immediately noticed those two people from earlier... what where their names again...? Sada and Phineas, that was it. They were arguing...

And Denku was fine to leave them alone. He could only imagine talking to them would end badly, seeing how they knew he was with Brooke, and he just didn't feel like dealing with it right now. However... he did hear some people talking about the Shadow Guard. Maybe now would be a good time to find out some things. He walked over to the gossipers, and began to ask questions.

"Hi, I couldn't help but overhearing what you said. I'm just curious, as someone who just arrived here, have the Shadow Guard always been like that?"

"Oh, yeah, all the time. They've been here forever and as long as I can remember they've just bullied the Psychics constantly." was the response he was given. Denku clicked his tongue.

"That hits a little too close to home," he muttered. "But anyways, because Sebastian is also a fighting type, the Shadow Guard has been kept in line?"

"Not at all, poor Sebastian gets the brunt of it, cause he stands up for everyone else." The people commented. Denku nodded.

"I see...," he folds his arms. "That just isn't right... But there's not much we can do about it, huh?" They shook their head sadly.

"Tis the times we live in."

"Yeah, well, thanks for sharing. I think I'm beginning to understand this place a bit better now...," Denku sighed to himself.

"Don't let that get you down though! Sebastian is here and he works so hard to make sure everyone enjoys their lives." the person stated. With a nod, Denku walked off, waving to them as he headed to Sebastian's home. It took a few minutes, but he finally made it to the door.

"I'm back," He said as he walked through the front door. It was kinda homey, he had to admit.

Icecrown Team Showdown

Diancie started to glow, her appearance seemingly shifting from pleasant demeanor to one of a fighter worth of being a legendary. She raised her fist and, and she did, an onslaught of diamond-like rocks started flying towards her and Tianzi. Scarlet acted quickly, dashing to the side to dodge the larger majority of the stones. She slammed her fists into the stones that were flying to her new position. The stones were extremely tough, not shattering immediately to the force of her punches. It almost felt like she was punching steel. She grit her teeth as the stones seemed to die down, before taking the time to start dashing towards Diancie. Her glare was intensely locked onto the legend, prepared to dodge any form of stones she could launch at her.

Adarid Team Karaoke

Lok heard the commotion going on outside, including what sounded like a new voice. He looked outside, seeing the Aegislash outside. He seemed like he was a bit nutty, so Lok elected to continue staying in the wagon, hoping that the whole ordeal would blow over. Instead, the Aegislash turned to the wagon. "You, come down here, tell me your truth from your own lips." Lok nearly jumped as the man addressed him. He sighed, before stepping out of the wagon and towards the others.

"E-Everything he's said is true." He started, nervously. He took a deep breath before continuing. "We met with him here a few weeks ago, when me and my group were travelling through Adarid." He pointed back towards where Adarid was, following his finger across the road the wagon traveled. "He helped us out when one of the godslayers attacked us, and we've been travelling together ever since." He paused for a second, still clearly nervous. He turned to the wagon. "We helped out the people who own the wagon and hitched a ride with them... the trip had been uneventful until... well..." He gestured towards Regigigas. "We mean no trouble, we just want to pass through." He tried to speak with as much confidence as possible, but his voice was still a bit shaky.

Ari would have lain there defenseless but for some shift in the wind, movement and a whiff of sweat and unfamiliarity, that informed him there was someone there, and approaching fast. He opened his eyes just in time to see a gaping maw lunging for his neck. Flinching, the lion cub let out a shocked yowl, that was quickly cut off when a familiar yellow form popped out in front of him and punched the woman in the face.

Kazo ran over to the fire type afterward. "Hey, are you okay?"

"Y-yeah," Ari said, shaken despite himself. "O-of course I'm okay," he said, straightening his shoulders and letting out a deep breath to release the clenched-up feeling in his chest.

“If you would, that’d be great,” Brooke told the Gallade, fixing Easter with an odd look that he returned innocently. “By the way… Have you seen Denku?” she asked the fairy type quietly. “He’s been gone longer than I thought that he would be.”

The Sylveon shook his head. "No, I haven't," he whispered back, growing a little concerned himself. Though the rock type was more than equipped to take care of himself, and didn't currently have a town mayor a little too interested in him, he was also alone. He thought, briefly, about interrupting the Gallade to excuse himself to go look for the Pupitar, but before he could Fi stopped him.

"Do not worry for your companion," she said in her usual vacant tone. "He will be back soon." And so that was that. The Espeon's predictions almost never failed. In fact, there was only one time that they had, and that...well, they all shared regrets regarding that time.

Easter listened politely, though honestly he wasn't super interested. All this talk of fancy architecture and art reminded him of his hometown, and he'd had enough of that place for one lifetime, thank you very much.

"How far have you traveled, anyway, young lady? You seem quite young for adventure," Sebastian asked Fawkes after she mentioned how tiresome traveling could be.

Easter yawned, ignoring the Gallade's question. It wasn't directed toward him, anyway, so he would ignore it.

The Sylveon's ribbons shook briefly in anger. Of course he would put Brooke all by herself. This was like some cheesy adult novel, where the poor innocent demoiselle would be isolated, alone in her room, and in would creep the...well, creep, and then that was the beginning of the actual interesting content, though it was still a bit too dull for him. Regardless... He glanced at the psychic type. Brooke is neither innocent nor helpless, but I would still rather have her with someone else. That decided, he spoke up. "Actually, um...if you may," he put on a helpless look. "Maybe Brooke could sleep with us or the kids? We've gotten ever so close on the journey, I just wouldn't bear being separated for too long. Actually, even Denku being gone for this long is worrisome," he bit his lip, looking down bashfully while hugging himself in a display of vulnerability.

Fi completely ignored her fellow Eeveelution's antics beside her, by now used to his idiosyncrasies.

The Braviary listened to the group for a time, before nodding and telling them that they would have food and medicine ready for them tomorrow morning.

"Oi. The general supplies would be nice. But...if you can be so kind...I'd like to ask if you could also give us a map of the island or something. As you said, we're not from this place...I'd rather us not be walking around in circles trying to leave you all in peace."

Keanu found himself nodding at the sense in Randy's words. Yeah, getting lost would be quite...troublesome.

Soon after, the Incineroar sighed and knelt down to face the troublesome Eevee. "I can't let you do that Morgan," he said, looking at the kid straight in the eyes.

Morgan's eyes watered at his words, especially when he patted her on the head. "I...I see," her ears drooped as she looked down.

Marie's reaction to the Eevee's words, on the other hand, was a bit of the opposite. "Really? Really, really?" However, as she bubbled over this, the girl's excitement soon died down as both of the other friends of hers were starting to seem displeased with the idea. As Randy said his piece about not wanting a kid to get hurt, gesturing to her, Marie pouted and mumbled, "but I'm an adult..."

It was then that Randy had decided to go take a break and go to the beach, leaving the other three by themselves. The girl looked towards Morgan saying, "well, I want you to come along at least. But, it would be good to at least tell your parents you're going first. You don't want them to worry more than they already will, after all."

BGM

The Eevee's ears drooped even more at that. It was obvious now that her earlier excitement had been mostly bluster, and Randy's words had taken the wind out of her sails. "I..." she bit her lip, before starting to speak in low, serious tones. "They would never approve, I already know. They hate the very idea of travelers, people who don't settle down and live stable lives." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I had a brother, but he left soon after I was born, to become a Chaser, and I wonder sometimes...is he happier than I am right now? Is he living a better life? Or maybe he's dead." Her tone became vacant and distant, and for a good few beats she just stood there, lost in thought.

"Sorry," Morgan sniffed, wiping her eyes before lifting her head up to look at the duo. "I was selfish. Me wanting to leave with you isn't just because I'd miss you. I also thought, maybe, it would be an opportunity for me. See what it's like to travel, what my brother saw in it that he decided to go that route. You could say I want to live, before I make any decisions about my life."

The brunette shook her head, eyes shining suspiciously, before bobbing into a sloppy curtsy. "I hope to see you all back at Northshore sometime," she said. "I...I'm going to work even harder than before!" she pumped a fist. "I'm going to sweep all the beaches clean till even that Poliwrath can't complain, make all the beds squeaky-clean, and grow stronger. And then maybe...maybe then I'll be so good people will be begging for me to join them!" She seemed to regain some measure of composure, giving off a blinding grin.

Keanu, despite his aversion to the Eevee joining them, couldn't help but respect her grit. "Yeah, maybe so," he nodded encouragingly, before turning around and leaving the two kids. He thought about following Randy, but seeing the fire type busy talking with a Poliwrath, did an about-face and wandered through town. He wouldn't have much time to explore, seeing as they would have to leave tomorrow, so he might as well see what was what here.

Morgan, despite what happened earlier, would still offer her home for the three to spend the night at. Her parents would be even more stiff than they were the night before, having heard of the day's earlier events, though they would still be painfully polite and load them up with lavish meals and soft beds. It seemed that they were firm believers in hospitium, in treating guests with almost self-sacrificial generosity and courtesy.

"How far have you traveled, anyway, young lady? You seem quite young for adventure."

That was a good question. By now, Fawkes had seen quite a bit of the Adarid Region. "Pretty far, I think," she answered, not entirely sure just how far "pretty far" entailed. "We came here all the way from Deku." Though I did go to Juyu that one time too. Does that mean I've traveled more than Brooke? Now that was an interesting thought! Brooke was strong and confident and brave, and Fawkes was... by her own admission, none of those things. When the group reached the bedrooms, Sebastian pulled aside a sliding door and showed them the interior. What a fancy house he had! She wouldn't mind sleeping here at all, she could tell.

"Easter, you shall room with Fi, and Brooke, in the largest guest room. The children can sleep in the smaller, directly next door. When your friend comes back he will have to share the room across with Kah."

"Actually, um...if you may. Maybe Brooke could sleep with us or the kids? We've gotten ever so close on the journey, I just wouldn't bear being separated for too long. Actually, even Denku being gone for this long is worrisome."

"I agree with Easter," Fawkes added, though her agreement was followed up by a yawn before long.

...it tastes fine, but it feels like something's missing. Kah admired her handiwork. A roseli berry pie, albeit slightly smaller than she remembered them being, sat on the table before her. Something about the taste of it felt distinctly off though, as if she'd missed some secret ingredient or something. Even so, she just wanted some roseli pie at this point; she wasn't going to get overly picky about small things. Tastes like home. Maybe whenever I catch a break, I should go back and...

"I'm back."

Can't a woman get sentimental for once? Fine. I'll settle for the pie. That guy - Kah couldn't quite recall him introducing himself - sure was out late. Best to go see what all he was up to. Picking up the quaint little plate her current piece of pie was on, and the fork she'd been eating it with, Kah made for the front door, finding the guy in question with little to no effort.

"Late night out, huh?" she asked, once she had the guy in sight. "What's a new visitor in town doing out this late after just getting here anyway? Figured you'd maybe want to stick around, maybe turn in early, then do... whatever it is you're doing, tomorrow."

Brooke pursed her lips, shooting Easter a brief but meaningful look. “I’d rather share a room with the kids, anyways, if that’s alright. I’d sleep easier knowing they were close by,” she cast Sebastian an apologetic glance. "Sorry if this is inconvenient. We're probably pushing your hospitality, but we've been through too much to be comfortable with being separated." She shifted Dora in her arms, who was still sound asleep. Hopefully she stayed that way.

Team Showdown, Day 28, Icecrown

Diancie took Isole's attack with a casual indifference. She simply raised the large rock formation that were her legs and took the attack. It seemed to act as some sort of shield, bolstering her defenses.

Isole let out a sigh at that. She didn't particularly want to fight as is, so having her attack be so ineffective was a bit of a downer.

So she began to charge energy. If her first attack didn't do much damage perhaps this next one would break through...

Diancie noticed the Xatu charging their laser. It would be quite the painful attack, even with her protection, so she knew that she'd have to stop them quickly.

Though she did have to deal with the Scizor too, as the red woman was currently dashing in her direction. Getting hit by that woman, whose face showed how serious she was, would be just as bad as the Xatu.

Diancie waved her hand in Scarlet's direction and the earth right in front of the Scizor's path opened up and a blast of power came from it, forcing her to either dodge or run right into the powerful attack.

As she did so she aimed her other hand towards Tianzi. As soon as they launched their Solar Beam, Diancie would fire a Moonblast right through the middle, cutting the power in two and sending an attack towards the Xatu.

"Excuse me but could you tell your friend to stop stealing from me? Actually, what she has now about covers what I was going to give for reaching here, so I suppose that's about right."

Team Karaoke, Day 25, The Road to Northshore

Gwen seemed ready to jump in when Kushiel gestured for Lok. However a glance at Nine, and how uninjured he was, stopped her. Lok had nothing to hide, after all, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Fiona on the other hand was cowering more and more in the wagon. She knew that if he could in any way tell intent or history then the moment he turned to her she'd be dead.

Kushiel stared down at Lok, seemingly taking in his words. He placed the sword on Lok's shoulder, flat side, and breathed steadily for a while. "I am sorry that you have been dragged into this. The strong should be protecting the weak." He didn't mean it as an insult, though it certainly sounded condescending. "You two seem to be telling the truth, though I feel there is something wrong here." He turned his attention to Gwen.

Without being told she floated over to the man. She stuck her chin out and stared at him defiantly.

His expression didn't change from the cold gaze from before, and, after a short time, he spoke. "I can already sense your spirit, without your words, one who desires peace in this world but has survived this long. I can tell there's more to you, however, it is not something I must destroy."

He turned from her towards Fiona. Who had failed to hide herself. Gwen, and the others, would realize how badly it would go for the girl were he to call him down. They had to think of something to keep him distracted quickly.

Team Mac, Day 20, Road to Weynon

Mac was beaming. She did it, she beat up the bad guy! And all by...almost all by herself! She posed dramatically over the unconscious form and pointed towards the other two. "And that's how its done! See that? We can fight, and we can win! We're the strongest team if we just...just try!" She stumbled a bit, the poison still, more slowly now that they weren't actively fighting, wearing down at her.

However it didn't stop her from approaching the two at a jog. "You did well, too, Kazo. Good work supporting your leader. And you, Ari..." She grabbed him by the shoulder. She was attempting to pat him on it, to tell him he did good, but he ended up keeping her hand there as she almost fell over. "You fought well...almost as well as me...Almost."

She took a deep breath. "Why is the forest spinning?" And then she was falling.

Team Neo Not Dark, Day 28, Mioter

Sebastian seemed to have not expected resistance to what he had said. It was almost as though someone saying no was unusual to him. "Well, worry not, the children's room is the smaller so it may be inconvenient for you. But that is for you to decide. I would give you three the other room but I wouldn't want to kick Fi out of the place she's been settled in already."

There was muffled noise from the entrance, which would be somewhat recognizable as Denku's voice. "Ah, well, that's convenient timing. You can all get settled into your ro-"

Dora dashed off as she heard the noise; fully alert in one of the many mysterious miracles of childhood. She almost ran into Denku but managed to halt herself just before crashing into him. Unfortunately she wasn't entirely stable so she began to bob back and forth on her heels, just barely keeping from toppling over. "Welcome back! Hey, hey, that lady there, apparently you're gonna sleep with her, isn't that neat?" Dora babbled, innocent to the possible meanings of her words.

"What a joyful young lady." Sebastian said as the girl left the hallway to do whatever it was she was doing. "In any case, I hope you find my home to be acceptable. I don't know what you're used to but I try to make it comfortable. Granted if you came all the way from Deku, you must be happy for a warm place at all." He seemed to realize something. "I must wonder, by the way, did you encounter anything odd before coming to my city? On the boat trip, perhaps? There has been a lot of trouble for people coming and going from the city lately, how did you get past the whirlpools?"

Mac posed dramatically over the unconscious form and pointed towards the other two. "And that's how its done! See that? We can fight, and we can win! We're the strongest team if we just...just try!" She stumbled a bit, causing Ari to surge forward in confused concern.

Ari, being the closest, caught her first, but he staggered under the weight. She was almost the same weight as him! Attempting to lower her to the ground strained his muscles even more, but he eventually managed to do it, perhaps with Kazo's help. He rose, panting, afterward, turning his head to look at the Gabite. "Sooo," he started. "What do we do now?" Honestly, he felt a little woozy too, but his brief rest during the battle had helped him enough that he wasn't collapsed like the Helioptile was. Still, the injuries stung, and really, he wanted to sit down right now, but Kazo had more experience than he did, so he'd follow his lead.

"I agree with Easter," Fawkes added, though her agreement was followed up by a yawn before long. Easter patted her on the head affectionately. This little fox was growing on him more and more every day, but it looked like she needed to sleep too. It had been a long day for all of them.

I would give you three the other room but I wouldn't want to kick Fi out of the place she's been settled in already."

Easter blinked. Looks like he misunderstood. Perhaps his increasing paranoia of Sebastian had twisted his understanding of the man's words. Oh well. As long as Brooke wasn't by herself, then that was fine. "Whatever works for you," he lowered his head as if submitting to the woman. She was the primary mother, after all.

Fi said nothing beside him, but she didn't look overly concerned with the idea of being kicked out of her room either.

After hearing what sounded like Denku in the distance, Dora dashed off.

"What a joyful young lady." Sebastian said as the girl left the hallway to do whatever it was she was doing. "In any case, I hope you find my home to be acceptable. There has been a lot of trouble for people coming and going from the city lately, how did you get past the whirlpools?"

Well. He could tell the truth, that the whirlpools were caused by Lugia who let them by because he remembered a song given to him by Meloetta, that he had defended her against somebody plotting to kill her, and that they all had ended up killing Kyurem. No, that was...none of his business, honestly.

"You could say we got lucky," he tittered instead. "Or we had a good ship's captain."

When they got to the house, Keanu yawned and tucked into the food, though he was saddened to see no pancakes or anything like pancakes. He stuck to the vegetarian and fish dishes for the most part, which Morgan noticed and commented on. "Huh? Do you not like meat or something?"

"You could say that," he explained politely. "I guess it's too heavy for me usually. Grains, fruits, and vegetables, they not only taste better to me, but they also make my body feel clean and refreshed after I eat, unlike how I feel whenever I eat meat."

Lewis the Espeon sniffed. "I guess not everyone has a palate that can appreciate the rich taste of meat."

The Pikachu rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure," but he refrained from saying more in the stiff atmosphere.

When he went to bed, sleeping on the couch as he did the night before, he glanced at the others one more time before speaking. "Sooo...unless I missed something, we still haven't figured out where we're going to be going. I guess we'll be getting a map tomorrow, but man, I wish we actually knew more about these places. We might need a guide." He muttered the last sentence to himself. He didn't want to open the can of worms labelled "Morgan." It seems they had safely fended off any possibility of her joining them, but he didn't want to risk it.

Honestly, Keanu just didn't really want to make the effort to get along with another gijinka. Especially after the disaster in Alola, he wasn't too thrilled at the possibility of getting attached to yet more people that he might have to leave behind again. It was just easier, more comfortable, this way.

"We might have to ask that Braviary or..." he made a face, "Morgan's parents, for more information."
