Rise of the dark machinations

Hello, I have decided to get back to card making. The cards in this post revolve around dark machine monsters. The main theme here is adding bonuses and support to monsters, allowing for a flexible method of play.

 

I made it so that the cards aren't dependent around summoning one certain card. Some spells have additional effects if equipped to certain monsters. Spells are also made to complement certain monsters.

 

 

Effect Monsters

Name: Ambush Mechanicus

 

FLIP: Look at one of your opponents face down cards and set it back down. If this effect is negated, destroy one of your opponent's face down cards.

Name: Chameleon Android - Mirror A1

 

If there is a face-up monster on your opponents side of the field, this monster's ATK becomes equal to your opponent's monster's ATK of your choosing. If that monster is destroyed you may make the ATK of this monster equal to another of your opponent's monsters. If there are no opposing monsters, this card's ATK is set back to normal.

Name: Repressed Vengamech
 
If this monster was negated from the increase of ATK and DEF from a spell, trap, or effect this monster  gains an additional 500 ATK.

 

 

Spells

Name: Factory of Heinous Augmentations

 

All Dark Machine monsters gain 400 ATK. You may negate this effect to any Dark Machine monster as long as you pay 300 Life Points for each negated monster during your standby phase.

Name: Nano-tech shield
 
If the equipped monster is targeted by a spell, trap, or effect, discard this card to negate it. If this card is equipped to "Infiltrator Mechanicus" it gains the following effects: Monsters that are level 4 or higher cannot attack this card. You may discard the equipped card and destroy the monster it is equipped with to inflict 1800 points of direct damage to your opponent.

Name: Staff of Sabotaging Rivalry
 
Whenever the equipped monster attacks a monster whose ATK is equal than the equipped monster, destroy that monster. Battle damage is applied normally.

Name: Macrobot construction Device

 

Once per turn, during your standby phase you may special summon one "Macrobot Token" (Dark/Machine/Level 2/ATK 0/DEF 1000) in defense position. You can only have one on the field at a time. This token can only be used as tribute for summoning Dark Machine monsters. If tributed to summon "Machintrosidad" it gains the following effect: All flip effects are negated.

Name: Ghost in the Machine

 

Tribute one Machine monster on your side of the field to special summon a Machine monster from your graveyard in the position of your liking.

A machine programmed to sneak past enemy defenses to gain intelligence from the opposition.

This machine was constructed using superior technology and programmed with a relentless cunning.

 

 

Fusion Monsters

Name: Mechanicus Behemoth

 

"Three Dark Machine monsters"
This monster can only attack every two battle phases. If one of the monsters tributed to summon this card was a "Macrobot Token", you gain 1500 life points. If one of the monsters tributed was equipped with a spell that increases ATK for machines this monster gains 500 ATK. If a monster tributed with this card was a "Mechanicus" this monster can attack once per turn.

OCG Fixes and commentary for ya ^^

 

Name: Ambush Mechanicus

 

FLIP: Look at one of your opponent's Set cards, then return it to its original position. If this effect is negated: Destroy 1 of your opponent's Set cards.

 

(Sub-type should also be a FLIP Monster, not sure how I feel about it not targeting, but I guess the effects aren't too powerful.)

When this card is Summoned, your opponent Summons a monster, or a monster with equal ATK and DEF to this card leaves your opponent's side of the field: You can activate this effect; This card's ATK and DEF become equal to the ATK and DEF of 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. If your opponent controls no monsters: This card's ATK and DEF become equal to this card's original ATK and DEF.

 

(Not sure what I think about this one, interesting effect, can make some nice beaters, but very weak when it comes to 1v1. Perhaps can't be destroyed by battle with a monster with the same ATK and DEF?)

(Ohkay, I see how this works with the other card with interesting ATK, but I feel this entire series is too...focused, and would have too many dead draws. Also, no idea how battle Damage would work.)

(Okay, this card has power. Can resummon the monster Tributed, and also has no limitations on the card Summoned. But this is in Casuals, so I guess that works.)

(Fusion Summoning doesn't Tribute. It uses Fusion Materials. You could make some sort of Contact Fusion, I guess, but as it is, the protection is weak.)

So hard to comment on Casuals after I've lived in advanced. I feel the archetype should be a little more broad when it comes to support, and can lead to a lot of dead draws. Interesting concept, but I feel it can be expanded on, especially since I haven't seen it before. Interesting work.

Oh ok allow me to clarify Dova:

 

For the Staff of Sabotaging Rivalry I appeared to have made a redundant addition with the battle damage, and yes this card is made to compliment the Chameleon Android.

 

The secondary effect of the ambush mechanicus is complemented by the effect of Machinstrosidad if it is tributed with the macrobot token since it negates flip effects.

 

Sorry for the effects of the Behemoth; I mismatched the typing. Do you think I should instead make this card an effect monster with the following summoning condition?

 

"This monster cannot be normal summoned or set. This monster can only be normal summoned by tributing 3 machine type monsters"
