Struggling manga author Satoru Fujinuma is beset by his fear to express himself. However, he has a supernatural ability of being forced to prevent deaths and catastrophes by being sent back in time before the incident occurred, repeating time until the accident is prevented. One day, he gets involved in an accident that has him framed as a murderer. Desperate to save the victim, he sends himself back in time only to find himself as a grade-schooler one month before fellow classmate Kayo Hinazuki went missing. Satoru now embarks on a new quest: to save Kayo and solve the mystery behind her disappearance.

Well, after the first episode I am hooked on this show. This could very easily become my favorite of the season if things keep up like this.

HOLY sheet THIS sheet THIS funking sheet

DAMNIT

That was a great first episode. That was a solid episode. Please don't mess this up, A-1. AKFG OP was perfect.

This apparently is a manga adaptation but for once I want to wait for the weekly episodes. SInce the manga is ongoing anyway I feel little guilt.

The MC's adult voice felt kinda off as I was watching this, like he was disconnected form the scenery around him. It's a strange voice but I don't dislike it. An acquaintance of mine said it's a newbie VA or something. I gotta look it up myself but dude might make it big in the future.

  • 2 weeks later...

HOLY sheet this show. If you're not watching it yet, get to it. It's most likely to be the anime of the year already.

The detail I love the most is the voice acting for the main characters. Their seiyuus got the mood of the setting perfectly.

Yep, this anime is my top one from this season. So damn good. Even surpasses Dimension W IMO, surprisingly considering how much I'm enjoying that.

[spoiler=Yep]Yeah, saw that happening during the whole episode. Shitty thing is we have to wait a week after this goddamn cliffhanger. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS DAMN IT.

This show just keeps getting better and better.

[spoiler=spoiler]So glad to see some relief in Satoru's false accusation. As much as I would love to see more leading up to Kayo's disappearance, the plot of the present is very interesting on it's own in addition to Kayo's disappearance in the past. That being said, now I'm suspecting some sheet from the manager.

[spoiler=cri]I mean, firstly, Airi's parents marriage must've been fragile as fuck if they divorced over an alleged chocolate bar theft. Secondly, fuck this, stop killing people. I feel like they may never let him go back again and he ends up killing himself or something at this point. Don't think it likely but I didn't think Hinazuki would be dead either so...

Seriously this is edging toward pure sadness generator 2k16. Didn't like this episode as much but it couldn't have kept the same standard of amazing every time and it was hardly bad. Manager does seem more and more suspicious though, especially that shady meeting and all.

[spoiler=probably]He's probably going to go back in time again, before Hinazuki disappears again and change the future in a more significant way this time. God I seriously can't wait for the next episode, this Anime seriously kicks ass.

[spoiler=but]If he keeps getting infinite retries at it the impact of what goes on is going to be diminished because whenever something bad happens we'll know he can just reset. Though I don't see any way this could possibly carry on without that happening, I feel like there's going to have to be a bit more to it.

[spoiler=about that]He'll go back in time again, but probably with even less of a time limit than before. Might be the day before she disappears, or on that day itself. Either way, his previous attempt to alter the timeline won't be wasted. According to the guy himself, the repeating schtick happens then he's given a redo to fix it. I'd like to think that getting his mother to notice the kidnapping attempt back in episode 1, and shifting Hinazuki's death date to the 3rd instead of the 1st, both had some reason to have happened. Perhaps as set-up for further time leaps.

[spoiler=]I don't see how potentially infinite retries would ruin the impact, look at series like Steins;Gate or Madoka Magica.

Anyways, episode was great, really cool and unexpected to see us go back to the present, both timelines' stories are really cool.

[spoiler=muh infinite retries]With Madoka we're barely shown any of the previous loops and with Steins;gate, we're shown there's a way to affect the next loop(by undoing the mails) so the previous attempts aren't wasted. In this case what would kill the impact is that if Satoru could return back to pretty much the same point in the past as last time and try things over yet again. Unlike the other two, this show spent a decent amount of time in the very first loop so it really would be nice if the first loop doesn't just get overwritten like that.

[spoiler=so]It looks like Hinazuki's mom just beat her to death, based on the one shot of them in the house and the bruised foot poking out from under the blanket. Or am I wrong?

[spoiler=but]that wouldn't explain the serial deaths.

[spoiler=but]that wouldn't explain the serial deaths.

[spoiler=]I was thinking the same thing but otherwise there's no explanation for her disappearing if that's not her body. Unless someone else lives there who gets beat up that we haven't met yet.

I am still wondering what's up with that one kid out of the group of friends. He's been suspicious this whole series.

EDIT: Something else I've been thinking, what if Hinazuki was beat to death by her mom and her going missing is somehow unrelated to the rest of the serial deaths, and Satoru ends up having to choose between his mom and Hinazuki? That would be harsh. But then I'd really want him to find a way to save both, and it ends up sounding lik Steins;Gate.

The manga is ending soon and the anime will be following the manga's ending, thankfully, so I plan on waiting to see it all instead of reading the manga, but it's so tempting.

That episode fucking fuck the fuck this is just an incredible thing my godddddddddddd

[spoiler=spoiler]I am just so happy they didn't kill Airi and have him warp back to undo it but instead added even more shit to the intrigue having him save her and then the manager making me rethink what the fuck his part is in it all helping him and fcucckcckkckc I'm too hype to say proper things but that ending as well ffffffdsdfdsf I just want the next episode now

Need to calm myself
