BLLACH, INSECT OF DARK WORLD

Level 2 DARK Fiend Tuner Pendulum Monster

Pendulum Scale: B4, R4

PENDULUM EFFECT:

(1) "Dark World" Monsters you control cannot be banished, except by the effects of "Dark World" cards.

(2) If this card would be sent from the Pendulum Zone to the Extra Deck: you can add it to your hand instead.

MONSTER EFFECT:

(1) If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Special Summon it.

(2) If you control a face-up "Dark World" Monster, this card cannot be targeted for attacks or by card effects.

(3) A monster Synchro Summoned using this card gains the following effect: "During your End Phase: you can discard 1 card."

DARK WORLD TEMPLE

Continuous Spell Card

(1) If a card is discarded from the hand, it is treated as being discarded by an opponent's card effect.

(2) During your End Phase: Place 1 Temple Counter on this card.

(3) You can send this card with 3 or more Temple Counters to the Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Dark World" Monster from your Deck or Extra Deck, ignoring it's summoning conditions. 

(4) You can only control one face-up "Dark World Temple."

URRANGE, NECROMANCER OF DARK WORLD

Level 5 DARK Fiend Pendulum Monster

Pendulum Scale: B7, R7

PENDULUM EFFECT:

(1) If a "Dark World" monster you control attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

MONSTER EFFECT:

(1) If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Special Summon it.

(2) Once per turn, you can pay 1000 LP: Special Summon one Fiend-Type Monster from your Graveyard, then discard 1 card. 

(3) You cannot Summon from your Extra Deck or conduct your Battle Phase the turn this effect is activated.

Rank 8 DARK Fiend XYZ Monster

2 Level 8 "Dark World" Monsters

(1) You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card: both players discard their entire hand (min. 1).

(2) Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: you can target 1 Level 5 or lower Fiend-type Monster in your Graveyard: Special Summon that target.

*sigh* oh boy, support for Dark Worlds.

 

The pendulum effect on Bllach is ridiculous. Consider for a moment how often non-destruction removal is actually used on spell or trap cards, and then consider how often destruction removal is used on spell or trap cards. You gave this card  an effect that makes it almost impossible to remove from being used as a scale outside of forcing the opponent to use more powerful removal effects that aren't nearly as easily obtained. Of course, that's not it, because it also has a self-summon effect, a protection effect, and it gives effects to monsters it's used as a material for. This card lacks most balance sensibilities and is basically off-the-wall.

 

Temple's first effect would be really good, but it's marred by a very mediocre second effect that would stop the card from ever seeing play. Next.

 

Urrange's piercing effect feels tacked on and completely arbitrary. And, again, giving it a full-float is kind of ridiculous; but neglecting to give it any kind of hard OPT on any of the effects makes this cards disgustingly abusable.

 

And finally, the Xyz. Seriously a bonkers card, as it doesn't even compensate the opponent for pitching their entire hand. It's basically a one-Xyz "Hey, I win the game now. gg." But, of course, that's not its only effect and it also gets to summon during your SBP. Last I checked, Dark Worlds don't have terribly much difficulty getting out a Rank 8; and making one that completely removes an opponent's entire hand while you get compensated for it is utterly nuts. If anyone actually made this card in real life, it would get banned so very, very fast.

 

 

 

For the most part, these cards lack a lot of balance sensibilities and are either off-the-wall ridiculous or too bad to ever see use. On top of that, the "Much needed" support is mostly random toys to give them like Pendulum, Xyz, and Synchro monsters for a deck that was originally none of those things. Simply giving a deck the ability to go into other summoning mechanics doesn't make it better alone; you need to actually see what the deck is trying to do, and help it do that better; not derail the base strategy to give a lot of variety in other options. Not to mention how out-of-flavor a lot of these monsters are. Just because its name resembles a colour and it has a discard-oriented effect, doesn't mean a lich or beetle or human knight on a horse fit what a Dark World monster is.
