Poll reveals 40% of Muslims want sharia law in UK

How f***ing deranged are people these days?

That's an article from 2006.... A clearly biased one.

More than that, it's an American article talking about the polls done in England. That cites the Telegraph as a suitable supporting new paper.

Just like... please actually look at the article before you post it.

Not really going to talk about the content, but...

I think that's kinda really off-topic. Stay on topic, please.

The perpetrators of the terrorism might be muslims but talking about an old article about people in entirely different country that doesn't even fall on the same group as the perpetrators and on a topic that barely had anything to do with the act of terrorism, despite them sharing some of the belief is just stretching it.

Killing jews was considered glorious too.

Yes (though now it's decidedly less so), just as it's now considered glorious to kill ISIS and could well become considered glorious to kill Muslims.

If we are in fact more civilized than ISIS, we should adopt the stance that there is never glory in killing, and often glory in dying. I'd rather die at the hands of ISIS than participate in the scapegoating and brutal conviction (read: torture and killing) of innocent people (read: Muslims) as a "security measure".

while i'm opposed to shutting down the borders, tightening them a bit is incredibly rational in the face of continued bombings and other forms of attack. you can say that it'll "give ISIS what they want" to decrease or stop border traffic, but who cares about that when not staunching the flow will allow more people in than the country can currently handle? sure not all of them are going to be terrorists, but for every terrorist you let in, there's a chance that there'll be another crime on the scale of this one and paris. we've got enough of our own problems as it is. closing the borders isn't gonna work, but you have to at least tighten them. ISIS isn't stupid, they've gotten better at hiding themselves among the crowd, and this is not going to be the last time that they attack. how high does the death toll have to rise before you can support a country's decision to get serious about breaking down the known or potential avenues of infiltration? i understand that giving up any freedom for security is something that nobody want's to do, but if you're not willing to give up anything to fight the kinds of people who are willing to literally blow themselves up just to kill as many people as possible, then you just make it easier for them to run through the cracks.
