[AGM, Written] Sorcery Hydras!

[spoiler= Prompt]

A group of level 4 DARK Reptile-type monsters with 1000/0 stats. They all have 1 common gimmick: If they're added to the hand through any means except drawing, you can Special Summon them. As such, they are generally a huge R4 deck. They also tend to have "generic goodstuff" effects much like Lightsworn.

 

Their Spell/Trap lineup is also fairly simple with their most prominent card being being a trade-in clone that ditches a Sorcery Hydra in your Hand/on Field to ADD the top 2 cards from your Deck to your Hand.

 

Their Extra Deck monsters are 2 rank 4 XYZs and 1 rank up rank 5 that has a turn skip effect if you have enough material.

 

 

 

Sounds difficult to balance properly, but I'm always up for a challenge.

 

Namewise, I'm going for a pretty interesting theme- see if you can figure out what it is.

Sorcery Hydra Emnov

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. Once per turn, during your turn, if the effect of your opponent's Monster Card activates, you can discard 1 card: Negate that effect.

 

Sorcery Hydra Mwor

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. If this card is detached from an Xyz monster: Both players add the top card of their Decks to their respective hands.

 

Sorcery Hydra Lenia

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can target and destroy 1 face-up monster or Set Spell/Trap Card on the field.

 

Sorcery Hydra Ralef Pim

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. If this card is detached from an Xyz monster and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your Graveyard, except "Sorcery Hydra Ralef Pim".

 

Sorcery Hydra Tanaa

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. If this card is in your Graveyard, and you control no face-up monsters with a Level: You can Special Summon this monster. You can only Special Summon 1 "Sorcery Hydra Tanaa" with this effect per turn.

 

Sorcery Hydra Throsar

DARK - Level 4 - Reptile/Effect - 1000/0

When this card is added to your hand, except by drawing, you can Special Summon it. If this card is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position.

Sorcery Hydra - Twin Head

DARK - Rank 4 - Reptile/Xyz/Effect - 2000/1000

2 Level 4 monsters

This monster can attack twice per turn. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to add the top card of your Deck to your hand: If that card is a Monster Card, this monster gains 800 ATK.

 

Sorcery Hydra - Spiked Tail

DARK - Rank 4 - Reptile/Xyz/Effect - 1400/2100

2 Level 4 monsters

If a face-up monster you control is targeted for an attack or card effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that attack or effect, then inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to half the targeted monster's ATK. You can only activate this effect of "Sorcery Hydra - Spiked Tail" once per turn.

 

Sorcery Hydra - Triple Head

DARK - Rank 5 - Reptile/Xyz/Effect - 3000/1500

3 Level 5 Reptile-Type monsters

You can also Xyz Summon this card using 1 Rank 4 Reptile-Type Xyz monster you control as Material (Xyz Material attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card). If, during the turn this monster is Summoned, it has 6 or more Xyz Materials, you can skip your opponent's next turn. This monster inflicts piercing Battle Damage. When this monster battles, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card: Add the top card of your Deck to your hand, and if that card is a Monster Card; increase this monster's ATK by that monster's Level times 300.

Hydra Head Slash

Quick-Play Spell

Send 1 "Sorcery Hydra" monster from your hand or side of the field to the Graveyard: Add the top 2 cards from your Deck to your hand. If this adds any Monster Cards to your hand that aren't "Sorcery Hydra" monsters, discard those monsters. You can only activate 1 "Hydra Head Slash" per turn.

 

Hydra Head Generation

Continuous Spell

Once per turn, during either player's turn, if a Reptile-Type monster is sent to the Graveyard, add 1 monster with equal or lesser ATK than that monster from your Deck to your hand.

 

Hydra Preparation

Continuous Spell

If, during either player's Standby Phase, your opponent controls a number of monsters equal or greater to the number of monsters you control: You can add 1 Level 4 or higher Reptile-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate this effect of "Hydra Preparation" once per turn.

 

Hydra Bite

Normal Trap

If your opponent declares an attack while you control a face-up "Sorcery Hydra" monster, negate that attack, and if you do: You can send as many Reptile-Type monsters with different names from your Deck to the Graveyard as possible, and destroy a number of cards equal to the number of monsters sent minus 1.

 

Hydra Sorcery

Normal Spell

If you control a face-up "Sorcery Hydra" monster: Add up to 3 Level 4 or lower monsters from your Graveyard to your hand, and pay 600 Life Points for each monster added this way.

 

Hydra Duplication

Counter Trap

When your opponent activates a Trap Card in response to the Normal or Special Summon of a Reptile-Type monster: Send 1 card of your choice from your Deck to the Graveyard, and negate that Trap Card. If this card or its effect is negated, add the card sent for this card's cost from your Graveyard to your hand.

 

The Hydra is Slain Improperly

Normal Spell

You can only activate this card if you control no "Sorcery Hydra" monsters. Both players select and add a number of cards from their Graveyards to their hands equal to the number of Reptile-Type monsters with different names in the Graveyard.

 

Hydra's Egg

Normal Spell

Add 1 card with "Hydra" in its name from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. You cannot Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Reptile-Type monsters.

 

Hydra Regeneration

Quick-Play Spell

Return 1 face-up monster from your side of the field to your Deck, and Special Summon 1 monster with the same Level and Type as that monster, but with a different name, from your hand or Deck.

 

Birth of the Hydra

Quick-Play Spell

Add 2 monsters with 1000 ATK and 0 DEF from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. If you control a face-up "Sorcery Hydra" monster when this effect resolves, you can also add 1 Reptile-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Birth of the Hydra" per turn.
