TheWanderingMist
FLASH CARDS Flash Cards are a new type of monster. They are 2-sided, with one side being a current Card type (Normal, Synchro, etc.) and the other being a bright red Flash Monster. Since Flash Monsters are double-sided, their other sides can be Set in face-up Defense Position. A Flash Monster that would end up face-down due to a card effect is set to Defense Position instead (the same applies to their reverse sides). Flash Monsters whose reverse sides are an Extra Deck card type go in the Extra Deck instead of the Main Deck. (Type/Flash/Card Type/Card Subtype)Ex: Aqua/Flash/Synchro/Effect Flash Monsters have neither Level nor Rank. Instead, they have Class, represented by a white dot centered in the Level area. Class is a number that ranges from 1 to 9 which is printed within the white dot. If two Flash Monsters battle and have the same Atk, or if one's Def is equal to the other's Atk, the Flash Monster with the higher Class is destroyed. Destroyed Flash Monsters are placed with their non-Flash sides face-up in the Graveyard, the same rules apply for banished Flash Monsters. High Class Flash Monsters tend to be weak in terms of power and only offer slightly beneficial effects, but have easy triggers. Low Class Flash Monsters tend to be high power, good effect, hard to trigger. Flash Monsters cannot be Special Summoned except by Flash Summon. FLASH SUMMON Flash Summoning is the mechanic that allows you to access your Flash Monsters. Flash Summons trigger automatically (denoted by the phrase "This card is Flash Summoned when...") when their conditions are met and cannot be negated. When its Flash Summon condition is met, a monster automatically “flashes”, i.e., you flip the monster to its reverse side and leave it in the same Battle Position. EDIT: Flash Summons cannot be negated because the controller of the Flash Monster cannot choose to not Flash their monster. Cards: No Extra Deck cards as of yet. TheWanderingMist
BUMP. May I please have some comments? My apologies to the Blitz Summon person below seeing as I subconsciously stole their card-frame color and Level/Rank equivalent term. I'll change the basic design of these later, I just want comments on the mechanic.
Naidraug
How would the card look being drawn from the deck, would it have to have certain side face-up,or would one side always be visible; how would that all work?
вєgσттєη ιηѕαηιту
I would recommend making them function like dual sided cards in MTG, where they have a filler card that goes in the deck until it is played.
TheWanderingMist
Yeah, these were kind of inspired by the double sided MTG cards but seeing as I'm more of a casual fan I didn't know how they handled the dual-sided card. Also, in case you were wondering why the Summons can't be negated, it's because you also don't have a choice as to whether or not they Flash Summon (i.e. if you would be penalized for Summoning a monster, you can't stop it from Flashing)
TheWanderingMist
BUMP. So, do you think the mechanic would be good?
