Here is my Grim!

Mancer (S) [Demon / Sound]

Lore: Once a beautiful man with a beautiful voice, once he darkened his heart, he has become the servant of a much more, powerful master.

Description: This man was the first son of a king of an unknown kingdom. He had it all; a wife, kids, and a amazing singing voice. However, when the words of an evil Immortal reached his ears, he thought that he was a great and awesome being. So he spent is time worshiping him. However, when he tried to persuade his family to worship him as well, they refused, and started an execution of him. Shocked, he begged them to save him, but did not listen, and by sundown, he was already dead. But when the Immortal saw him, he gave him new life, by using his hatred as a life source, and giving him Immortality, by cloaking his damaged body with a dark, impenetrable body cloak. So with this, he massacred the whole kingdom, and now, there is no one alive from the old kingdom, except the Mancer himself, serving his new masters and ruling his armies...

Because of this betrayal, he often does not bond with any of the creatures he works with, and when they ask for help when their life is in danger, he simply walks away without looking back. Although this is a strength, this is also a weakness, since he never cares about his subjects, he never cares about their actions and their current state, making it possible for them to do certain things that is not allowed.

Strengths:

Does not bond

Immortal

Weaknesses:

Does not pay close attention to details

Weak will

Should I start working on stats?

No idea what this is supposed to mean. If you mean stats as in Attack, Defense, etc., I already have those down.

Temptingly edgy, but

1. You still haven't followed the topic

2. We have a couple Grims like this

adding several new Grims I had time to make today.

Also, Rage, you've leveled up for your submission. You're now a Beginner!

Hoggy, follow the topic by clicking "Follow Topic" at the very top right of the page. Furthermore, I'd like more reasoning as to your Grim's typing.

K now here is a new Grim

Celgar ( F )

[ Neutral ]

LORE: When scientists were planing on making a growth serum, they should have thought about how the cells around them would react.

DESCRIPTION: As a normal cell, this living cell was part of a experiment with scientists a long time ago. However, when scientists were working on a growing serum, they accidentally let the cell loose, and although it didn't go far, it went right into the center of the growth serum. Although the serum was a fail, as it evaporated quickly into nothing, the cell just absorbed one particle of the last drop of serum, and with that, it started to grow quickly, until it was the size of a queen size bed. But being just a cell, a living cell with emotions from past experiments, it just floated around, and earned the name "Celgar"

Being just a cell, it has no strengths or weaknesses, since it just floats around. However it can help its allies by being a cover for them, while anything someone throws at him bumps right off, since no one has found anything to break its shell.

Strengths:

Impenetrable

Serious

Weakness:

Lacks Offense

Slow

Ehehe, new submission.

[spoiler=dOll (F)]

[neutral]

Lore: When someone is madly in love with an insentient being, it would sometimes love them back, and this will give the object a pseudo-soul. Yet, due to its being only an object, movements or words to express their love to the owner, the dOlls are forced to watch them in silence. Only upon a human physical touch that they can communicate, though not verbally but telepathically instead.

Description: Unlike the other Grims, dOlls have neither physical capacity nor psionic form to move around. In fact, they retain the exact form of the object from which they were born. Ironically, they are quite talkative, possibly because they have many things to talks about but were previously unable to. The Grims are exceptionally knowledgeable, and could give sagely advises to any dilemma. Some dOlls also have acute sixth sense, to the point of sensing or feeling dangers lurking nearby and seeing through illusions caused by other Grims. When being in contact with a human, a dOll can temporarily lend that person its sixth sight.

Despite being born out of a deviant form of love, dOlls are tranquil and very eager to find a companion. Unfortunately, because they do not possess a physical form, combat or any forms of battle are impossible feats for them. Furthermore, having forms that are identical to a mundane object, it is purely coincidental for anyone to find a dOll. Those who does though are bless with a wise friend that would devote to them days on end.

Strength:

- Knowledge (Yes, knowledge can be a strength too)

- Sixth sense.

Weakness:

- No physical form.

- Heavily dependent on physical contact with humans.

- Not combattant material, therefore are quite useless in a physical fight.

Trivial:

Some dOlls can give a human a part of its vessel to carry with, in case that is is impossible to move. This would act as a medium between the Grim and its person.

Oh, guys, do we have any ideas on the terrain of the Grim world?

Probably Earth, actually. Many Grims have been planned to be found in earthly places.

Anyway, I'll read your submission eventually.

I love the design, but two things concern me:

1. The type is sort of bland and doesn't seem to fit it exactly, letting go of some of the flavor.

2. The stylization of the name is a bit awkward. That's just me, though.

Yeah Earth is a terrian, but what about like different places on Earth, like a secret bog, or even different dimensions, like Realm of Light?

The idea was to be able to discover Grims wherever you went in the world. Any real world biome would suffice.

By the way, I added some stuff to the OP.

Been stupidly inactive lately, added two submissions to the OP. I will also add your EXP.

Hoggy and Rage have both been awarded 25 EXP for their submissions. They have been added to the OP.

As an announcement, please check the Task Board periodically for jobs. Also make sure you add Stats (should be under resources) to your Grim in your submissions.

Also added the "How to Make a Grim" resource under the Resources spoiler.

Ok, sorry for the super tardy response (I can only blame life :) ).

I will take another look at the type, because the Grim comes from any objects, it's kinda difficult to define their type. So I went the safest route: making it a Neutral type. I will change it later, ok? Maybe the name too.

Alright, so we are gonna have an EarthX? Cool!!! :D Going back to check the new stuffs you added.

Edit: Don't we have a guy who is specialised on Stats? Should the taxonomy branch consoles with him or do we just. ya know, make it up ourselves?

K np I go AFK on most things too.

Anyways I got 2 things I want to share:

Grim: Kinsman (B)

[Combat / Light]

The guardian of a king's tomb, this Grim can and will attack anything that threatens the king's property. A master defender, but with a gentle heart, the king put all of his trust into him.

He looks like this:

http://rsmg.pbsrc.com/albums/v738/MysticJhn/Avatars%20and%20Icons/AurkusLightswornDruid.jpg~c200

However, there are a few minor changes; he wears armor, and he is a bit more jolly looking. (Sorry for using a bad card from Lightsworn by the way)

He is very strong and courageous, and very gentle at the time too. He is an excellent swordsman. However, with the coming of technology, he refuses to use anything other than his sword, which often leads him overwhelmed.

Strengths:

Excellent Swordsman

Kind, often making more friends than enemies

Weaknesses:

Isn't up to date

A bit aged.

2nd: 2 new TERRAINS!

I was thinking that there should be a place where the darkness and the light should reside, so...

DARK: The Forest of Lucifer

This terrain is a place that protects Demon type Grims from Magic attacks, also raising their ATK by 1/3 of their current attacks.

LIGHT: The Mountain of Yahweh

This terrain is a place that protects Light type Grims from Magic attacks, also doubling the damage they deal to an effective attack.

So what do you think?

Look under resources at the Grim Stats list. You should become acquainted with them regardless of your branch.

Weaknesses:

Isn't up to date

A bit aged.

Pros:

1. Cool typing

2. Fitting flavor

3. Has obvious and sensible weaknesses and resistances

4. Has an image

Cons:

1. Two-worded names are often reserved for S-Rank Grims only (although there might be a few exceptions in rank A). It's a special title, to say the least, so a B or lower ranking Grim doesn't seem to quite be up to par with it. "Kinsman" might be alright.

2. Not sure how good of an idea using a Yugioh card art for the art is, but I'll allow it. Also, the image didn't actually open, I just happen to know of Aurkus.

3. You didn't add stats. Check the resources tab in the OP.

4. It says "man" when Grims are defined as spirits or monsters. There's (not even remotely) any issue with being humanlike--as many Grims are--but being a man is by definition not a Grim.

Get back to me and I'll be happy to add you to the list.

2nd: 2 new TERRAINS!

I was thinking that there should be a place where the darkness and the light should reside, so...

DARK: The Forest of Lucifer

LIGHT: The Mountain of Yahweh

This terrain is a place that protects Light type Grims from Magic attacks, also doubling the damage they deal to an effective attack.

So what do you think?

I think we should continue to keep this terrestrial; think Pokemon Go. Basically, any place a human can go, you should be able to find Grims. The canon of Grim takes place on Earth.

As far as cards might be concerned, though, these could be arranged.

YCM Username: SoulFire

Name you'd like to be called (this can be the same as above): SoulFire (or Dylan.. or Soul...)

Branch you'd like to join and why (you're not limited to being completely centered around one branch): both please! I love designing creatures for games but I also love the more technical aspect as well.

Favorite Grim based on the list (This is impermanent, but required to make sure you care. A complete list of Grims can be found in the Resources section): Abbadon (I adore demons)

I vote we make this a PvP Collectable RPG Board Game where players collect cards to represent their Grims in battle.

nerd I second this

Gunna put some stuff here about the contest we'll have. You don't have to do it, but you should ( ò u ó)

[spoiler=Grim Design Contests]

If you're really into design, you'll love Grim Design Contests. Here, show off your best creations for a chance to win EXP, Rep, and/or Forum Point prizes. Submitting is just like doing so for a submission, but you should be more serious about it. This is for prizes!

You can find out more on Grims and how to design them under the Resources tab.

Judging Criteria:

- How flavorful the Grim is, how fitting its descriptions, bio, and art are.

- How fitting the Typing and capabilities are to the Grim's design

- How balanced the Grim is regarding its stats and rank

- How unique the Grim is

If you want to make sure your designs are top notch, check out the Resources tab.

[spoiler=Grim Design Contest 1: The Hero's Journey]

For our first Grim Design Contest, all participants will design an F-Rank Grim with the idea of Starters in mind. As opposed to a filler Grim, this should be a relatively important Grim with something to set it apart.

Prize: 1 Rep, 100 EXP

Requirements:

- You must have a club membership.

- Must be a Rank F Grim

- Must fit the parameters to be an F-Rank Grim
