Widow mine is R1. Grapple hook is L1. Jet booster on Pharah is x or L2. Jump jet is L1 I believe. Knockback is R1 I believe.

Ngl I can't remember most of these without a gamepad in hand. In any case, don't be afraid to remap controls. I completely remapped tracer and it helps a sheet ton.

Thank you for that.

And speaking of Tracer, when's the best time to use her Pulse Bomb?

They can't use abilities. If someone has Shields, they are set to 0 (so Zenyatta and Zarya are affected most by this, it also prevents shields like Reinhardt's shield from being deployed), and if someone is in the process of ulting (I think Roadhog, Zenyatta, and a couple of others, not sure off the top of my head) it stops their ult.

Ah; thank you.

Ideally with a Zarya ult as the crowd control + damage can destroy an entire enemy team. If not, use it to get rid of unsuspecting tanks or healers. Bastions if they're immobile, or groups that are primarily clumped together. The time bomb doesn't have a huge radius blast but it is VERY devastating.

Yeah. Given the short radius, it's hard to hit more than two players with it. Usually I've thrown it to one of the bigger bodies, like the aforementioned Bastion, D. Va, and Roadhog. I have managed to take out three players with it, but it's rare.

Though, what do you mean by Zarya ult?

Oasis is amazing.

Not the YTer, but the actual map.

Aside from the kill cams on cars being broken, the whole entire aesthetic of Oasis just seems so....refreshing. Definitely a break from all the monotony and seeing the same maps over and over and over. (Looking at you, Nepal.) I love the clash between futuristic and ancient, and Oasis really brings it all together. Plus, the Garden Section is peaceful to look at.

Needs to come to main server now.

God this must be the worst ones I have had yet, 4/10 wins, and I somehow still got into Diamond? What? I thought I would be in gold at the highest, not Diamond, those matches were absolute sheet, the ones we actually won we were straggling, having 3-2 on control maps and 0 seconds on escorts, so I don't know how I am even close to that with only 4 wins. The others I lost were because my team had people below level 100, some guys simply throwing the match, I don't know if that had something to do with it.

Perhaps blizz made an algorithm or w/e that tracks your actual individual performance per match, rather than just basing your rank on wins alone?

Has anyone else been playing 3v3 elimination?

Just tried it out and...wow. A breath of fresh air from the Attack and Defend games. It's shorter, for one. And it boils down to fighting each other until one team is down. I think I'll be playing in this form a little more.

Definitely a break from all the monotony and seeing the same maps over and over and over. (Looking at you, Nepal.)

The maps I've been in the most often are Hollywood and Eichenwalde.

Speaking of:

What map do/did you encounter most often?

I run into Nepal all the time. Like, 2 out of 3 matches I play will be on Nepal for some reason. Another I seem to get a lot is Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Which is good because I actually like Gibraltar. I hardly ever run into Numbani (which is my most hated map). Regarding Hollywood and Eichenwalde specifically, though, I seem to run into Hollywood more than Eichenwalde. The game knows I hate Eichenwalde with a passion.

Odd. I rarely run into Nepal. My least favorite map though is probably Temple of Anubis.

Route 66 is actually a good map though with a lot of flank points and lots of actual strategy involving moving the payload, lol

Numbani has none of that. You lose the first point on Defense, they get it all the way to the checkpoint, and then you might as well just start preparing for Defense at the last point, because the good lord knows you can't defend the first checkpoint on Numbani.

As far as Escort maps go:

Route 66 I'm okay with doing.

Gibraltar I love.

Dorado I'm also okay with. I actually hardly ever run into Dorado.

For Assault:

Hanamura I'm indifferent.

Temple of Anubis is too easy to get the first point and too hard to get the 2nd point if you're on Attack.

Volskaya has lots of flanking spots so I guess it's okay. I actually haven't played much Volskaya.

For Control Maps:

Ilios is ehh.

I have never played LiJiang Tower because whenever I do my internet crashes. It's like a sign.

Nepal I've been over.

And then for Hybrids:

Hollywood I like. Mostly because of the guy in the car.

King's Row is ehh.

Numbani I hate.

Eichenwalde I hate.

Numbani: It's hard to get victory in this one (at least for me).

Route 66: I could go either way. It's decent for me.

Gibraltar: Decent

Dorado: I like this one. I haven't run into this one that often either though.

Hanamura: One of the ones I like the most.

Temple of Anumbis: I hate

Volskaya Industries: Decent

Ilios: I actually like this one, despite it having narrow pathways.

Lijang Tower: Another one I find decent.

Nepal: Oddly enough, I hardly come across thid map.

Hollywood: Seen this one too much. If it doesn't get annoying, it gets boring.

King's Row: Don't come across it often either.

Eichenwalde: Same thoughts on it as Hollywood.

As a guy who does not play FPS often, should I put this on my christmas list? (Currently the only Steam games on there are Planet Coaster and Parkitect)

Depends. I didn't play first person shooter games often (if at all) either. However, I bought this one and find myself playing it often. Each character comes with their own different weapons and abilities (Tracer has handguns, can dash while Reindhart has a shield and hammer), allowing you to experiment with different playstyles or find your niche.

Quite frankly, the only particularly bad maps are Eichenwalde and Temple of Anubis. That said, they are both horrifically unbalanced.

The best maps are probably Lijiang (particularly garden and control room), King's Row, Route 66, and Hollywood.

Numbani isn't the best, but it is still a very good map, and personally it is my favorite. If you are having trouble on defense, Arin, I recommend making an effort to better utilize the high-ground, and abuse line of sight on the stairs by the corner right past the payload start point. Those are crucial to the defense at that point of the map.

Yeesh, even at low level play, teammates are absolutely garbage. I go D.Va on Route 66 Defense and I actually end up doing really well for the round. 30-2. We're on the final checkpoint of Route 66 and the Lucio, who, may I remind you isn't a very good healer in the first place, says that I should be using my charge better to get closer to him. Excuse me, but I actually know how to play D.Va and then this Lucio isn't healing us. And then one of our other team members switched out from I don't know what they were playing before with Mei, and then had the nerve to say "We won that only because I switched to Mei". Yeah, not like I was doing any work taking hits for the team so y'all dumbasses wouldn't die. Yeah, Mei TOTALLY won that game.

I also got a PoTG with a Triple Kill suicide and then finished off a low-health Reaper.

I think this game has gotten so horribly toxic and infuriating that, even when we succeed, our team mates still have the audacity to nitpick at us how to perfectly win the game, by saying "Oh, that D.Va isn't using her charge right, must be a bad player" when clearly I know how to play my character. If you go into my career profile, it literally says D.Va is my most played hero.

So yeah. Suck my dick whoever you are.

I thought you could mute teammates in this game, was that not a thing?
It's just like League of Legends, where 90% of the time your teammates aren't worth talking to and they end up tilting you nearly as much as the enemy.

Pings and playing the game should be all you need.

Doesn't mean that you have literally no room for improvement, but like...why let that crap have the chance to bug you in the first place?
