Not to that level, at ground level he barely lifts off the ground.

 

He gets more height from it if he can glance at a surface at higher levels.  It's why he can move across the map so fast.  But I see your concern.  Mobility Creep.  Reaper and McCree would get left in the dust in terms of mobility.

That's because I think it's more meant to be used in the air or down a slope.

From what I've seen I think the surfing off objects is just with the rocket punch, the jump just gains a lot more distance when used in the air.

 

Reaper and McCree would get left in the dust in terms of mobility.
I'm not sure why you're bringing McCree into this, he pretty much has no mobility so most characters leave him in the dust. And I wouldn't worry about Reaper, he can still teleport anywhere within LoS with 1 ability. Meanwhile if you want to do these fancy tricks with Doomfist, everything you have will be on cooldown. And with only 250 health and a hitbox about the size of Reinhardt's, if Doomfist gets caught out with no abilities, he's in trouble.
 
I can't say if he's too good or not just yet, he's barely been out, but if I had to give a knee-jerk reaction I'd say his hand cannon might be a bit too strong. Though that could just be because I've been watching Seagull's streams of him, who is an incredibly skilled professional DPS player that lands, like, every headshot.
 
Also, in case anyone didn't know, much like Reinhardt can with his charge, if you jump right at the end of Doomfist's rocket punch, you'll keep your momentum for the jump and gain a bit of extra distance.
 
EDIT: A change hit today for Doomfist in the PTR, his rocket punch's max distance has been reduced from ~30 to ~21 meters. But you can still get to ~40 if you do the jump at the end of the animation. I think I actually prefer this because it felt like the rocket punch took you too far at max charge, putting you out of position sometimes. This way you can still get the full charge damage and not blast yourself too deep.

Well, Doomfist is cool. It's just a matter of actually getting used to playing him. But I guess you could say that about any hero. I like the cooldown on his Rocket Punch. And Meteor Strike is awesome.

 

And it looks like Summer Games aren't too far off. So yeah, I'll be looking forward to that.

 

But the update I'm happiest most for is the Loot Box update. I've hardly gotten any duplicates (if any) from them. Maybe I'll have a better chance in the Summer Games than I did in the Anniversary Loot Boxes.

What stuff have you people gotten from the summer games? I have Zarya's weightlifting skin and Mercy's skin, and also I got Ana's Beach Ball and Symmetra's Ribbon emotes, Torbjörn and Tracer's Medal victory pose and I am wishing for Pharah's Slam Dunk hightlight intro, Bastion's boxing emote and of course Soldier's skin.

10 Loot Boxes in, and outside of some icons and voice lines, only event skin I've gotten so far is D.Va's. I'll keep trying to get boxes though. Two skins I really want are Widowmaker and Mercy's new skins. If I don't get either in a Loot Box by the time the event's almost over, I'll just buy them. And maybe a Lucio skin, too.

So this is pretty cool, just saw that the new update shows your leaderboard position in Lucioball, and turns out I'm number 181 currently in Europe on PS4, pretty cool to be so close, I am sure I can get into the top 100 as well, since I play it quite often. I wonder if you get an icon for being in 500 for this mode as well, I don't know how that works since I have never even been close to that in real competitive, maybe it shows the number too for competitive, but I'm not in there so it didn't show it for me.

Bringing my total to 20 today. The most I got today were a few Medal victory poses and McCree's American event skin. Sadly lately, most of the teams haven't been coming with any good team compositions. People not playing Tanks, people not playing Healers, people playing Offense heroes in Defense (and vice versa).

I am pretty sure that is exactly the case. It's interesting that they are doing that, I am for it, if it means we get more shorts. Of course, there is going to be another one later, this is after all called "The Plan", so we'll see the plan in action soon enough.

 

Personal OW news, got me another golden weapon, Doomfist this time around, first male character I unlock a gold weapon for actually, not biased at all...

Actually, we've made some significant changes to D.Va internally and have been testing them for a while now. Here are the changes we've made:
 
Defense Matrix: Energy drain increased by 2x. This means her effective uptime for this ability has been reduced by 50%.
 
Boosters: D.Va can now use her Fusion Cannons while flying.
 
New ability - Micro Missiles: D.Va launches a long salvo of small missiles that explode on impact, dealing damage in a small radius around them. This ability can be used while using her other abilities or firing her Fusion Cannons.
 
The combination of these changes allow her to play more aggressively and deal more damage, at the cost of being able to Defense Matrix as often as before. Defense Matrix still remains an extremely powerful tool when timed correctly, but the reduced uptime means D.Va won't be able to use it nearly as often overall.
 
Her new Micro Missiles ability in combination with her ability to fire while flying allow for some more aggressive play, as well as opening up some new options versus heroes such as Pharah. 
 
Overall the goal here is to reduce her reliance on Defense Matrix and make her more fun to play. As far as balancing goes, we want to nerf Defense Matrix as an ability, not D.Va as a hero.
 
She has been a ton of fun to play with these changes, and we're looking forward you letting you guys play with them as well. Hopefully we'll have a new PTR up soon!


That does sound really cool, but with only 2 seconds of Defense Matrix and her huge hit/critbox along with her earlier armor nerf, she's not much of a tank anymore.

I have always wanted her to shoot while flying, she can't really chase anyone, since they can just run away while your speed is reduced because of firing, now you can shoot while flying so you get to both catch up with them and shoot them as well to make it easier when you land. Additional changes are nice too, and her shield I am not too sure about, would have to test that out first to know how it feels.

Its probably just a coincidence but Paladins's resident mech piolet, Ruckus, also just got turned into a more aggro tank. Like, missiles and everything.

But ruckus was already an aggro tank anyways, so if this ends up anything like paladins, this is gonna be a good thing for her. Trust me.

Attention, attention:

 

Mercy is getting some changes. Rez is no longer her ult, it is now an ability with a 30 (iirc) sec cool down. Single target, range of 5 meters.

 

New ult is called Valkyrie, it makes you super mercy. Better and unlimited ammo, better and longer beams, longer range on Gaurdian Angel, you can fly, and rez cool down is automatically reset and has its CD reduced to 10 sec while active.

 

Prepare yourselves, Aggro mercy is coming. Or it could boot her out of the meta. Dunno, tbh.

Total of Loot Boxes now at 30. Didn't get anything in the first 5. In the last 5, I got Mercy's new Summer Games event skin! Now I can buy Widowmaker's and maybe one of Lucio's! Though speaking of Mercy, not really looking forward to the new change(s). Especially given what she was established as throughout most of the game's life span.

 

D.Va's however, is a mix. While I am a bit disappointed by the change they'll make to her Defense Matrix, I do kind of like the idea of her firing missiles. Now I may be able to take down more annoying enemies, like Bastion and Pharah!

 

Also, I think I've grown a liking to playing Junkrat. It's just so easy to use, and you get so much damage and/or kills.
