Sonic the Hedgehog: Solar Tides [IC/Accepting]

Cynthia's quills stood on end as she dipped her charged arms into the water, effectively destroying the robotic fish as they tried to flee upstream. "Nice thinkin' there Cynth!" Cynthia gave a shaky thumbs up to Ken, but before she could say anything, a loud roar interrupted the victory. Whatever it was, it came from below the lake that the streams lead to. "Now I'm really excited! Whatever this thing is, it better not disappoint!" Cynthia was on with that, though the fighting pose Ken made did raise an eyebrow.

"Hmph... Whatever it is my fire is still gonna be useless... What do i look like im made of throwing knives?" Cynthia turned to Alex as she said this. "Ah come on, stop being such a pessimist. We've got this." Cynthia said in a reassuring tone. She morphed her right arm into a sharp blade and prepared herself for what could be below the surface of the water.

Axel's Group

"Heh...yeah, that sounds like a pretty cool move name...Arctic Prison!"

"Not bad," Axel's voice sounded directly behind Zane as his afterimages faded, and his form appeared leaning against the icy prison that incased the grabbers. "Not bad all." He said casually whilst he watched Chimera's back as the bot continued to push down the path. Sighing, he placed his hand on Zane's shoulder and motioned towards their mechanized companion just before he vanished into the foliage that littered the trail. He didn't need to say anything; they would forge onward.

Minutes later, the boys would stumble upon a wide open meadow. The massive trees that had only grown taller since they trio had started down this path now formed a parameter that opened up again at the end opposite of entrance, and as Axel's team took their first steps into the grass field they were met with a sudden gust of wind that fiercely pulled at their clothing.

Even without any kind of sixth sense, it was undeniable that there was a strange air lingering in this area, and when the team finally reached the center of the meadow, Axel halted his advance. "hm?" His ears twitched upon picking up a sudden burst of moment. "s***!" The white hedgehog spat before suddenly spinning around and placing a hand on both of his comrades.

BMG

Without warning, the trio vanished in a flash of light. Reappearing a few yards left of where they had been standing, just in time to catch a glimpse of a bright green blur as it dashed past at blinding speed; sending soil and grass flying in every direction as entity's claws swiped at where it's pray had just been. Just as quickly as the green blur had appeared, it vanished into the forest. Leaving Axel glancing around the surrounding area with his glowing blue gaze as he placed his back to his comrades to form a triangle formation in hopes of avoiding another surprise attack.

There was a tense moment of silence as the trio waited for the creature's next move. "It's moving too fast..." Axel whispered back to his comrades whilst sweeping the area with his senses. "I can't get a clear read on it's position... it's lik-" He began but suddenly cut his sentence short and jerked his head upwards. "It's right on top of us!"

Surely enough, when the other two freedom fighters glanced upwards, they were met with their hunter as it let out a shrill screech whilst diving straight down towards them at frightening speed!

Ken's group

Meanwhile, Ken and his party were about to be aquatinted with their own predator. Sensing the organic creatures as they took up fighting positions near the shore, the shadow beneath the water suddenly halted it's patrol before vanishing from view. For a moment, everything about the lake grew deathly still; leaving the low gargle of the streams as the only sound that filled the area.

Though this didn't last for long. Without a warning, the beast that made this lake it's home revealed it's self by leaping high across the water in an elegant display. It's body could almost be called beautiful as the sunlight bounced against the spray of water that was sent high into the air when creature broke the lakes surface. But the bellowing roar it released upon laying eyes on it's prey was anything but welcoming as it shook the surrounding forest and pushed those who weren't prepared backwards slightly...

Crashing back into the water, Hydrogon wasted no time in resurfacing with it's mouth agape. Setting it's sights on the two hedgehogs, it took a moment to gather it's self before letting lose a large stream of pressurized water that easily ate into the muddy ground as it was swept sideways towards the pair in an attempt to slice them both in two.

Satisfied with it's diversion, Hydrogon dived down back into the water again. Only to suddenly leap out towards Alex at a surprising speed. With it's wings spread wide, the creature glided towards it's target with it's jaws open, and the intention of biting into the thief in a highs peed lunge.

"Not bad, not bad all."

Zane gave Axel a quick thumbs up before chuckling. "Yeah well, can't be upstaged by you any more than I already am, Axel." he nodded, before seeing Chimera heading off without him. He felt Axel's hand on his shoulder before watching him follow. Zane only nodded and quickly followed behind the pair...it was obvious that this situation definitely upset Chimera...

Minutes later, the boys would stumble upon a wide open meadow. The arctic wolf had to admit it, this seemed like a location right out of a postcard and it was even better in person. Zane planned to ask Axel how much further, but he was met with an incredibly strong gust of wind that was seeming like it was pushing them back something awful. "O-Okay...what the heck?!" Zane asked, only to get his answer in a different manner.

"S***!"

Zane felt Axel's hand on his shoulder, before yelping some as he could only see white for a few moments. In a quick moment, he found that they were a few yards away from where they stood, and Zane could only groan a little. "O-Okay...uggghh...a-a-a bit of a fair warning next time you do that...'kay?" he groaned, holding his stomach some. "First time warper here..." That's when Zane noticed the quick glimpse of a green blur...

"It's moving too fast..."

Something faster than a hedgehog?? he thought, getting into the triangle formation that Axel wanted them in. Didn't think there was ANYTHING faster than a hedgehog...

-BGM-

"I can't get a clear read on it's position... it's lik-...It's right on top of us!"

"Oh please don't be right..." Zane gulped, looking up and seeing the beast that was above them. To simply put it...his jaw dropped quite a bit. "I-Is...IS THAT A FREAKIN' DRAGON?!!?" he shouted, watching it diving towards them at a very frightening speed.

Zane gulped again, before quickly throwing a few icicles at the ferocious dragon. What else could he do? Wait...he could try what he used against Mephiles and that dark energy ball of his. Yeah...that could work. However, last time he did it... It left me pretty weak. Then again...what other choice do I have? he thought, before putting a hand on Axel's shoulder. "Axel! I'm gonna try something...but I need you and C here to buy me some time. I'm gonna try and hit it with what I used on Mephiles' death ball..."

Of all the things they had to fight, it had to be a mechanical water dragon. The creature of the lake made its presence known as it jumped quite beautifully out of the water, and the loud roar it let loose was enough to push alex and the others back a good bit. "Great, just great! First robo piranhas and now this? I'm starting to get sick of this." alex exclaimed for everyone to hear.

The aquatic robot wasted no time in attacking the group after it crashed back into the murky waters of the lake. It emerged from the surface and proceeded to let out a stream of water at ken and cynthia. Hopefully they could get out of the way of that, but alex had bigger issues.

The robot had used its water breath as a distraction and just charged at alex, fangs ready to bite her in half. "Whoa!!!" alex tried her best to dodge the attack and nearly succeeded, if not for the gash in her side the beast left as it charged. "Agh! I was too slow." alex kept her hand on the wound and backed off a bit from the lake. "You lousy robot. Eat this!" alex flung blood from her wound right on to the beast and proceeded to wait for whatever ken and Cynthia were going to do before setting her blood ablaze.

"HO-LY CRAP!" Just as it seemed peaceful on the surface of the lake, the silence was broken when a large robotic dragon breached the surface of the water. It was always a wonder to Cynthia how something so seemingly majestic is in reality something very dangerous. The aquatic menace turned its attention straight for her and Ken and made an attack on them, shooting a stream of water. "Ken look out!" Cynthia dove right at Ken and pushed him aside, luckily she was able to dodge out of the way, but a pain coursed through her arm as she dodged.

Looking back at her morphed arm, the tip of it was seemingly sliced as if someone took a welding torch to it. "At least this arm was morphed... phew..." She let out a sigh of relief, only to turn back to Alex and see her get charged at by the beast. Like Cynthia, Alex was able to dodge the attack, but also like Cynthia she ended up getting hit anyway. "We gotta help her out, c'mon!" Cynthia took a few quills and morphed them into similar metal staffs as she hit Ken with during their race. She tossed on to Ken and proceeded to rush to Alex to give her a hand.

Ken's Group

He had been wondering what was dwelling beneath the water this whole time.  When it finally revealed itself, a small smirk could be seen on Ken's face.

"Just another piece of scrap metal huh?"  Chimera would've probably killed him if he ever heard that line again.  The metallic dragon shot a high pressurized stream of water his direction, much like what he had seen Charyb do previously.  His knuckle clenched, as he figured he'd push the water back with his own fist.  However, a certain hedgehog stopped him from doing so.

"Ken look out!"

He was shoved aside forcefully out of the way of the attack.  When he looked to Cynthia, part of her morphed body part had been taken off by the attack.  If Ken did decide to go fist to water with that attack...he would've been one limb down!  He nodded, a quick expression of his thanks to her, before standing back on his feet again.

"Time to go all out then huh?  Let's not waste time!"  Ken unleashed his first inhibitor, and pumped himself up.  He didn't even look Cynthia's direction when she threw a piece of herself towards him.  He merely caught it on pure instinct alone...although it still weirded him out that she was able to do that.  "I'm not really a weapons guy...maybe that overgrown lizard would like it instead!"  Ken dropped the metallic quill, only to deliver a swift and powerful kick to the back end of it, sending it hurtling towards the dragon.  Ken then posed to start a dash, but instead started to spindash in place, launching himself directly behind the quill.

This new beast was like nothing he had ever seen before. It was faster, so fast even a hedgehog couldn't track it. That was scary, to say the least. They stood back to back, Chimera morphing his arm into a missile launcher. Where did that robot go?

"I can't get a clear read on it's position... it's lik- ...It's right on top of us!" Chimera looked up, seeing a massive green dragon flying down at them. He began to scan the dragon as he fired off his missiles. The way it was made... it was like that one person's... but slightly more advanced... like he had time to improve. It suddenly clicked in Chimera's head. That's why he couldn't talk to the Grabbers!

"Axel! I'm gonna try something...but I need you and C here to buy me some time. I'm gonna try and hit it with what I used on Mephiles' death ball..."

"Don't bother," Chimera spoke up. "A machine made by that bastard wouldn't just sit there and be hit by it. And it's moving far too fast. This will be an endurance battle. Try not to wear yourself out," And with that, he began to fire off even more missiles. They just needed to ground this thing, make it play on their level!

"Axel! I'm gonna try something...but I need you and C here to buy me some time. I'm gonna try and hit it with what I used on Mephiles' death ball..." Axel felt Zane's hand on his shoulder as he watched a salvo of missiles and icicles crash into the dragon's face, causing the beast rear backwards slightly and break out of it's dive as it was enveloped in a cloud of black smoke left from the attack. He opened his mouth to object, but Chimera seemed to have the same thought.

"Don't bother, a machine made by that bastard wouldn't just sit there and be hit by it. And it's moving far too fast. This will be an endurance battle. Try not to wear yourself out," Did Chimera know the creator of this thing?

Before Axel could inquire further, his attention was stollen by a monstrous shriek from within the cloud of smoke above them. Suddenly, the green dragon shot through the vail of dust in a blur as it glided towards the tree line with it's baffling speed. Though Chimera was ready, unleashing another slew of missiles that hungrily twisted and turned through the air in pursuit before finally slamming into the beast's back just before it could vanish into the forest.

This time, however, Oxydrag's response was swift. Turning towards it's prey, the beast suddenly charged at them in a blinding display. It's razor sharp claws grinding against the earth as it attempted to slice right through the three heroes.

"Hold on!" Axel called back to Zane whilst gripping the hand the wolf had placed on his shoulder whilst hastily leaning against Chimera. The trio once again vanished in a flash of light, reappearing two yards left of their last position. Though it seemed Oxydrag had anticipated this...

Abruptly halting it's charge by digging it's talons into the ground, Oxydrag brought itself to a skidding halt before opening it's mouth wide and releasing a swirling vortex of wind and cutting chaos energy. With it no longer in motion, the damage done by Zane and Chimera's attacks were no evident and as the shredding twister slammed into the trio and sent them flying backwards, Oxydrag tilted it's head back and roared to the heavens.

IsOSufc.png

Alex's blood stained Hydrogon's beak as it dove back into the water after it's attack on Alex. Though as it leaped high into the air again to launch it's follow up assault, it was met with a metal rod that drove itself straight into it's right shoulder with more force than it thought the surface dwellers were ever capable of generating. Though it seemed the worst had yet to come...

Seconds later, the white hedgehog slammed directly into the rod. Driving it further into the dragon's body and sending the creature soaring backwards into the center of the lake.

Bellow the surface, Hydrogon allowed itself to sink down before righting it's position. It was wounded, but far from incapable of continuing the fight. With a groan, it turned to inspect it's injury, only to be met with the sight of a dark red stain that had begun spreading throughout the water and smearing all over it's body... blood?

With no time to concern itself with the strange phenomenon, Hydrogon quickly swam to the surface, leaping from the water yet again; just in time to hear Alex's voice. "You lousy robot. Eat this!"

IsOSufc.png

Axel's eyes widened in shock as the beast's attack struck him. With only enough time to raise his arms in defense, the white hedgehog's forearms and shoulders were now cover in small nicks and gashes. But that wasn't the main concern...

"This energy..." Axel growled as he lowered his guard. "That wasn't an ordinary attack!" The air around Axel suddenly grew dense with energy as he realized that this thing was what they had been looking for this whole time. With a grunt, the young prodigy raised his palm towards Oxydrag and began firing off a energy blasts has he marched towards the beast.

Realizing the danger that this trio present, Oxydrag took the skies yet again. Only just able to dodge Axel's assault, the creature perched itself on one of the massive trees that surrounded the area before beginning to glow with a mystical green aura.

Slightly winded from the extensive use of his powers, Axel watched with annoyance as the beast let loose another roar. Though this sound was much different than any call it had made before. Glancing at the intruders a final time, Oxydrag turned and fled into the forest in it's trademark green blur.

"Like I'd let you run!" Axel roared after the beast before suddenly vanishing from the ground. Reappearing atop the same branch that the robot had just been perched upon, he glanced down towards Chimera and Zane with eyes that shined a bright red. "That thing has the emerald!" The bloodlust was evident in his voice.

With that, Axel darted into the forest. Using he natural speed, he began leaping across the tree line as Oxydrag skillfully glided and maneuvered between the massive branches that seemed to intentional forming obstacles for the pair. Refusing to let the robot leave his sight, Axel hastily ran up the side of a twisted branch before leaping forward warping across to yet another tree in an attempt to close the distance. Little did he know, they were heading towards large mountain that loomed over the area.

"Dammit!" He growled in frustration whilst forming a large sphere of chaos energy and hurling it towards the dragon in an attempt to slow it's escape. This was a job for Ken...

IsOSufc.png

In an instant, flames sprouted from multiple areas of the beast's body causing it to roar in pure agony before clumsy falling back into the water. However it seemed that the blood behaved like oil, and had also managed to rest on the lake's surface and sit spitefully above the water as it burned a vile dark red hue.

There was a moment of silence, Ken and the girls waited for the robot's next move. After what felt like an eternity, their opponent finally surfaced. The armor on the beast's face and body was now twisted and melted, and could be seen dancing from the quill that still sat in it's shoulder... it no longer looked majestic by any means.

Tilting it's head back to the sky, Hydrogon began glowing with a bright blue energy before letting loose a powerful roar that shook the area. It would seem the first line of defense wouldn't be enough to halt these intruder's advance!

Without warning, Hydrogon turned returned to the murky depths. It's top fin could now be seen cutting through the water as it began swimming further down the lake at extreme speeds. In the distance, one could barely make out a massive waterfall that lead of the side of a certain mountain...

[spoiler=OOC]

Well it wouldn't be a Sonic Rp with a chase boss, would it? Time to go fast guys~ Show off your character's speed and pursue our targets. You can attack them to slow them down, but make sure you pay attention to the surrounding area.

For Axel's team: You have to worry about branches and even trees that will obstruct any attempt to go straight for any long period of time. There are also still grabbers lurking around to be creative.

For Ken's team: There are rocks along the lakes parameter if you're afraid to take a dip in the water, but for the most part the main threat is the same aquatic robots that you met in the beginning of the level.

Let's see how well you guys can write a chase scene -w-

Well... That plan worked better than alex expected, not only did cynthia and ken knocked the mechanical beast back into the water, but alex's blood managed to seep into the very water, causing a glorius lake of burning, red flames. "Hmph... Good riddance..." thats all alex could say at the moment, she placed her hand on the wound the robot left on her and healed it shut with her flames, maybe now they could get back to finding the emerald.

They could've gone back to searching if the robotic dragon hadn't resurfaced from the water. The beast's metallic body was disfigured and melted from alex's inferno and looked like it couldn't keep fighting. So it did the most rational thing a blood thirsty robot dragon could do, run, or in this case swim. It dove into the water and took off upstream.

"After i turned the lake into an inferno, that thing is still going!?! Grrr... We need to catch that thing while its still weak!" normally alex would leave something like this alone, but the less blood thirsty robots there are in this world the better. She took off after the mechanical beast, using her agility to jump from rock along the riverside. More robo piranhas jumped out of the water to attack alex but were immediately met with a throwing knife getting plunged into them.

As alex continued upstream she could see the robot's large fin gliding through the water. It appeared to be heading towards a waterfall further up the river. "Tch... Heading towards a wall of water isn't going to stop us."

"Don't bother, a machine made by that bastard wouldn't just sit there and be hit by it. And it's moving far too fast. This will be an endurance battle. Try not to wear yourself out."

Zane sighed a bit, hearing Chimera flat out say this. He was right though...what was the wolf thinking? But wait a minute... "Wait. You mean the egg-dude didn't make that thing?!" he asked, a little confused. If not Eggman...then who??

"Hold on!"

"O-Oh god...not a-" he yelped, snapping back as he felt Axel grabbing his shoulder and...then warping them two miles away from their current location. "-gain...ugggh...how do you handle this, Axel??" Zane held his stomach, before seeing the Oxydrag now being in front of them and causing them to be skyrocketed back by the from the shredding twisters it created.

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

Zane slowly got up, looking at Axel who was fixated on the mech. Why though?

"This energy...That wasn't an ordinary attack!"

"Y-Yeah tell me about it..." Zane groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. "Jeez..."

He just watched the Oxydrag, almost taunting Axel who just continued to blast strike after strike at the robotic creature, before it took off flying away. Did it have its fun now? Were they free from its little game? Or were they just starting it?

"Like I'd let you run! That thing has the emerald!"

"W-What?! Are you sure?" Zane asked, before shaking his head. Stupid question. "Of course your sure..." he said, watching Axel already taking point and running into the forest after the Oxydrag. "C'mon C...otherwise we'll be left behind." he said, fixing his shoes before rushing into the forest after Axel.

-BGM-

He rushed along the ground, beginning to skate along it as the ice formed beneath his feet. Ahead he could see Axel and the Oxydrag playing a strange version of Warp Tag, but also quite a bit of trees and branches. "Never easy..."

Zane jumped over one of the branches and quickly formed ice from his hand, in which he began skid and grind along it, dodging most of the trees. But that was the least of his worries now. Ahead he could see more Grabbers, attempting to stop his progress. The arctic wolf sighed, as he skillfully avoided them, only throwing an icicle at the webs they hung from to have them drop to the ground below. "Nice shot!" He turned his attention back towards Axel, who he caught up with.

"Dammit!"

"Chill, Axel!" Zane said, moving on ahead as he kept throwing the occasional icicle at the Oxydrag. "It won't have much room to run anymore...and when it finally runs out of room...we'll get him!"

Ken's Group

With all of their attacks combined, Ken was pleasantly surprised to see that it had been incredibly effective against this mechanical monstrosity.  With the creature up in flames, and it's skin seemingly melting away from it's body, the beast let go a roar that shook the very ground he stood on.

"Still got some fight in you, huh?  Now that's what I like to see!"  It was then that the beast turned tail and ran downstream.  Ken's arms hung by his side in disappointment.  "Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm bored..."  This thing wasn't strong at all...it would be boring to have to chase this thing and smash it to pieces...but there was no choice in the matter.  The thing could have a chaos emerald inside it after all.  Ken wasn't good at being able to sense chaos, so if this thing had the real deal, it would be better to be safe than sorry.

"After i turned the lake into an inferno, that thing is still going!?! Grrr... We need to catch that thing while its still weak!"

Alex was the first one to be off.  Ken was taken aback...she was never the one to lead.  Ken grinned, as he positioned himself to start running.

"Hey, wait for me!"  He said before bolting off.  His speed was enough to carry him in between the gaps of a pretty handy set of stones that led downriver.  It wasn't long before his path was cleared of robopiranhas from Alex's throwing knives.  As he passed her, and within arms reach of that protruding fin, more fish jumped out of the waters to slow him down.  Ken made sure to dodge the teeth, and deliver a swift blow to the front of their faces.  Each punch led to an explosion of scrap metal.  Though he was triumphant in slaying the small fry, the beast had gotten a lead on them.  It was headed towards a large waterfall.

"I'm not gonna have to swim up that am I?"  he said, sighing.

Surprisingly enough, with their combined attacks and alex setting the lake ablaze with her blood, the robotic creature was beaten, if only for a few seconds. Its melting form rose back out of the water and proceeded to retreat upstream. Alex was inclined to chase after and finish it and Ken was all for that. As they took off after it, Cynthia morphed her arm back to normal, the pain wasn't as bad now, but if that dragon was a bit more accurate... she may not have had an arm afterwards.

She shook the thought out of her head and hopped onto her extreme gear and caught up with alex and ken. More robo piranhas jumped out of the water but were immediately cut down by alex and ken. Looking ahead, it seemed that the dragon was heading towards a waterfall. "I'm not gonna have to swim up that am I?" ken ighed at the thought of it. "Well I don't know about you two, but I could easily get up there with my extreme gear... Lets pick up the pace, we cant let it get away!" Cynthia stated as she picked up speed.

"This energy..." Axel growled as he lowered his guard. "That wasn't an ordinary attack!"

"Y-Yeah tell me about it..." Zane muttered.

"If this is considered not ordinary, then I weep for you organics," Chimera stated as he watched the bastard's pet robot dragon. "That's a pretty standard attack for non-mook robots, at least back in my day." The make of modern robots would have to wait though, as the dragon took off, with Axel dashing after it and Zane doing some sort of ice skate movement thing in the air. Chimera fired off his rockets to catch up.

He was too far heavy to go at speeds like Metal Sonic. Maybe he should try dropping the heavy ammo... Nah. A lot of modern robots seem to go for light armor, something his bullets would eat like tissue paper. It was too strategic to keep the ancient ammo. For now.

"Like I'd let you run!" Axel stated. "That thing has the emerald!"

"You do realize that just because it fired an energy attack does not mean it contains a chaos emerald, right? Fake emeralds do exist," Chimera commented as he held up his arms, firing water blasts and laser blasts at the dragon's wings, hoping to damage them.

"Chill, Axel! It won't have much room to run anymore...and when it finally runs out of room...we'll get him!"

Axel heard Zane and Chimera's voices from bellow. Following up with his last attack, Zane skated across the forest floor and hurled his trademark icicles, whilst their mechanized companion flew between the two organics and fired off projectiles from both his arms.

"No," The white hedgehog called down to his comrade before leaping forward and grabbing a branch from the tree ahead of him. Skillfully swinging himself over to the next tree, Axel observed the aura of the dragon as the beast desperately rolled and shifted to dodge the volley of projectiles. "That energy it's emitting is definitely that of a chaos emerald..." As Axel spoke, he twisted his body to avoid another branch as he speeded across the treetops. Zane would soon be made to eat his words, as an opening in the ocean of massive trees could now be seen moving into view as the trio raced after their target. With every step, they grew closer to the side of the mountain that had seemed so far only minutes ago...

"But..." His gaze narrowed slightly. Something wasn't right... He could see the chaos emerald's energy clearly, but why couldn't he seem to pinpoint the actual emerald within the creature? "I can't see it..." Axel's eyes dance furiously across Oxydrag's form as he tried to his best to locate the emerald. Though before he could come up with explanation, the green dragon was struck by one of Zane's Icicles, causing it to slow down just enough to have Chimera's water jet slice off the lower part of it's left leg.

Screeching in agony, Oxydrag's body quickly become enveloped in brilliant green aura just it broke free from the forest. Increasing in speed, the beast glided up the side of the rock structure. Digging it's claws into the mountain jagged surface and causing stones to begin raining down on it's pursuers in a brutal hail.

IsOSufc.png

It seemed that once again the robot piranhas were no match for Ken and the girls. Thanks to some quick knife work by Alex, the trio traversed the lake unmpeeded in pursuit of the blue dragon.

With only mere yards till it met the waterfall, and the intruders hot on it's trail, Hydrogon wasted no time in lunching a hasty offensive to try and slow the surface dwellers down. Diving down into the murky depths, Hydrogon let loose a mighty roar before suddenly resurfacing directly under Cynthia. The yellow hedgehog would have mere seconds to react as the beast lunched itself high into the air in an attempt to throw her off of her board.

Though it seemed that she wasn't the only one in danger. Whilst in the air, the creature open it's maw towards Ken and released another jet of pressurized water that it would continue to sweep across the lake in pursuit it's target as it's body fell down towards a certain thief.

A thunderous crash soon sounded across the area as Hydrogon slammed down on to the rocks that Alex was using to traverse the environment. Destroying them and leaving a cloud of dust in it's wake. Unsure if it had managed to crush the feline, Hydrogon used dust as cover to slip into the waterfall and begin it's rise to it's final destination.

Just then, Ken's team would hear a familiar voice from their visors. "Brother!" Static reverberated through the mic, followed be several loud bangs that made it apparent that Axel and his team had also met some kind of obstacle. "We've located a creature that may have the emer- gwah!" Another crash erupted from the other end of the mic.

IsOSufc.png

Axel growled in annoyance as he was sent skidding down the side of the mountain by yet another massive rock. Bringing himself to a halt by driving a chaos blade into the mountain's side, he quickly warped upwards to catch up with his comrades before continuing his call to Ken. "What's happening on your end?!" He yelled over the sounds of battle as he watched Oxydrag reach the peak of the mountain. "Oh no..." Were the last words Ken and his party would hear before he cut the transmission.

Now acquiring the high ground, Oxydrag turned to face it's enemies as they struggled to climb the rigged surface of the mountain whilst avoiding the rocks that were tumbling down it's side. Opening it's mouth wide, the beast began gathering large amounts of chaos energy before releasing it in a swirling vortex that traveled down the mountain's side.

Within moments the attack had begun picking up an alarming amount of debris from the surrounding area; small trees, jagged stone, and sedimentary mud swirled violently within the green vortex, threatening to erase Zane, Chimera, and Axel.

It seemed like the aquatic beast wasn't through fighting, it let out a roar before diving underwater. Only it came up seconds later right underneath Cynthia, whether she was knocked off her extreme gear was unknown to Alex as she had other things to worry about, like a giant water dragon robot landing on top of her. "Wha... Oh crap!!" Alex noticed the looming shadow and jumped back just in time.

The shock of the mechanical beast landing crushed the very path that alex was on and knocked her off balance. She wasn't about to to jump into electrical jawed piranha infested waters, so she took the less dangerous but also the craziest option. Before the dragon could escape, alex jumped on and stuck a red hot knife into the beast's back so she could hang on, big mistake as the beast dived back underwater and started to swim up the waterfall.

Alex could make out the faint sound of axel calling on the visor that chimera gave her but the rushing water drowned out his voice. At this point she had two options, let go and get crushed by the waterfall and be left for the piranha bots, or tough it out and hang onto the dragon's back for dear life. Again, she took the crazier option, whether this was a smart idea, only time would tell.

"No. "That energy it's emitting is definitely that of a chaos emerald..." Chimera shrugged to himself as he dashed through the forest, deciding not to care and crash through the trees, toppling them over. He needed to go faster, and the two were ahead of him, so there would be no harm. Soon, they came to an opening, and the dragon flew up to the top of a mountain. The trio began to follow, but the dragon was causing the rocks to fall on top of them. Chimera took to blasting them to pieces with his blaster and water gun, but then... the dragon was readying its roar.

Thinking quickly, Chimera placed his hand on the mountainside, blasting it with as much power as his combined laser and water gun could muster, creating a hole big enough for someone to slide into. He then kicked off the mountain, quickly spinning into a ball and firing his rockets, spin dashing into the hole and cutting into it, digging into the mountainside. After digging for about five feet, he began to spin in a circle, making a small cave.

"Get in!" He called, readying his Black Shield. He would block the entrance from any rubble, and since they were inside the mountain, the dragon's roar would not affect them.

The chase was going rather well so far, the piranhas were barely an issue and the group was gaining n the aquatic machine. However, the dragon soon switched to the offensive and dived underwater, seconds later it emerged, right underneath Cynthia! "Whoa!!!" The machine knocked her into the air, though it didn't knock her off her extreme gear. She used the momentum to launch herself a good distance from the robot and watched as it tried to attack Ken with another water stream.

"Dang! This thing still has some fight left in it!" Cynthia was about to charge straight for the dragon when it crashed down, but she soon realized that Alex had grabbed onto the thing and was hanging onto it as it went up the waterfall. "What is with this cat!?!" Whether something was wrong with Alex or not, she really needed some help now. Cynthia sped towards the waterfall, hopefully Ken had an idea on how to catch this thing, otherwise their feline friend was in for a rough ride.

Ken's Group

As they trailed the mechanical dragon, it attempted to launch an attack out of desperation.  Upon jumping out of the water, the machine launched a familiar looking attack, a stream of water that cut everything in it's path.

"Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-"  Ken yelled, as he made a mad dash towards the other side of the river.  When he looked behind him, he could see the angle of the water chase him.  He became more frantic, as he made a quick back flip over the jet of water.  Ken could almost feel the tingling sensation of some of the tip of his back spines being trimmed.  "-iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!"  He exclaimed as he stuck the landing.  From the dust cloud that soon came after, Ken looked back to the waterfall to see the machine ascending...along with Alex!  "Gnarly..."  Ken' couldn't help but smile at that cat's antics.  She was either way smarter, or way dumber than she looked.

"Brother!" The familiar voice of his brother could be heard. "We've located a creature that may have the emer- gwah!"

"Axel!?  Are you there?!?  AXEL!!!"  Ken almost crushed the visor in his hands...he was never good with technology anyways.  He punched a small hole into the rocky cliff side of the waterfall.

"We have no time for this."  He looked to Cynthia with a determined expression painted on his face.  "I don't care how, but we've got to end this thing quick!  I can run up this wall no problem, but you might need to be a little more creative!  Luuuuuuuuuuck!"  Ken dashed off, trying to keep pace with the dragon as he ran up the cliff's side.

BMG

"Get in!"

Axel glanced back over his shoulder to see that Chimera had managed to dig them a shelter within the side of the mountain. "Right!" He grunted in agreement, before suddenly halting is advance and allowing himself to fall back down towards his two comrades. Though it seemed that Zane was far too focused on the oncoming attack...

Realizing that the wolf wouldn't react in time on his own, Axel hastily grabbed his arm as he fell past the ice user. Without a word, he skillfully tossed Zane into Chimera's shelter before placing his feet on a nearby rock and jumping in himself, just before the vortex of green energy and debris swept over them.

"Smart thinking, Chimera." The young prodigy said whilst placing his hand on the robots shoulder. If it weren't for Chimera's quick thinking, they would have surely been dead...

"You still with us?" Axel smirked before placing his other hand on Zane's chest. The darkness of Chimera's Black shield was then illuminated by Axel's signature blue light. "Now, it's time for our counter attack!"

Meanwhile, Alex was being violently dragged up the waterfall at impossible speeds. Her would become a blur of movement, as Hydrogon used it's power to glide through the torrent of pounding water.

Though it would feel like an eternity for her body, the beast reached the top of the waterfall fairly quickly, with Ken and Cynthia close behind. They were now in what would appeared to be a manmade area. with the walls of the mountain smoothly cut to create a bowl, and the ground replaced by a could metal circle that was surrounded by a surging circuit of moving water that fed the waterfall.

Having finally reached it's destination, the wounded Hydrogon violently twisted it's body; sending the thief tumbling through the air as it allowed itself to vanish within the water that surrounded the circular platform.

iU8EggM.png

Having thought that the attack had hit it's mark, Oxydrag was completely caught off guard by the the trio's sudden appearance. With a combined assault, Zane, Alex and Chimera released a salvo of attacks as they reappeared directly in front of the beast.

Forced on the defensive, the green dragon took the air again, only to be struck in the chest by a powerful stream of water from Chimera's palm. "You're not getting away this time." Chimera's voice boomed as Zane pulled himself over Axel's shoulder and kicked off his crossed arms, sending hedgehog falling downwards. Though Chimera was ready, catching Axel with his free hand just as Zane wrapped both hands around the jet of water and began freezing it with his powers.

The deed was done in seconds, leaving the Oxydrag rendered immobile by the massive ice structure that now connected it to Chimera. "Axel, go!" Zane barked, not wanting to waste this opportunity.

"On it!" Allowing Chimera to toss him upwards, Axel span into a ball before dashing across the ice structure. Gaining speed, he slammed into their target with all of his might to send it reeling down towards the ground. As he uncurled from his attack, Axel suddenly shifted his gaze to the right upon sensing an incoming projectile.

"Alex?!" He called in disbelief as he began falling down towards the ground with Zane and Chimera. Vanishing in a flash of light, Axel reappeared in the thief's flight path; allowing her soaking body to slam into him as he grabbed her.

Storm Arena

On the ground, Chimera, Zane, Ken and Cynthia would be reunited at last. Though they weren't able to celebrate just yet...

Enraged at the sight of it's brother now in a crumbled state in the center of the arena, Hydrogon let loose a massive roar before leaping from the water and landing at Oxyrdag's side. With both robots finally together, their bodies began glowing a violent purple that was nearly blinding to all those around.

Sensing this sudden spike in chaos energy, Axel landed next his brother with Alex still over his shoulder. "This," He eyed the pair of robots suspiciously as he placed Alex on her feet. "Isn't good..." The energy that the two creatures were emitting was on a scale he hadn't yet seen before, and it was still climbing by the second.

"Subjects 001 and 002 have sustained critical damage." The voice of a certain fox could be heard from the speakers embedded in the arena. It was obviously a dated recording, but would still be recognizable to Chimera.

"Initiating defragmentation..." The voice droned on as the two dragon's bodies began falling apart. The shining purple light now completely consumed the creatures, and within in moments the sound of shifting metal could be heard from somewhere within the cocoon of energy. All attempts to breach the shell of light would be futile, and any who came near it would be forcible pushed back.

"Completed. Optimizing surviving units...."

The cocoon was now slowly shrinking, though Axel was painfully aware that the energy signature inside was still growing. When the process was completed, a single figure stepped out from the light.

"Storm Dragoon combat ability at 95%. Chaos Emerald defragmentation successful." The recording now sounded a lot like a warning, black clouds had begun gathering over the top of the mountain as if nature was also begging the heroes to flee.

Axel's gaze narrowed slightly as he noticed purple Chaos Emerald in the new creature's grasp. Though when he took a step forward, he found himself hesitant to attack the beast... "Why are my legs shaking?" He thought to himself as he tried to force his body to move.

"The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing..." Storm Dragoon spoke in low but powerful voice that seemed too natural to be from a robot. His cold gaze scanned each and everyone of the intruders as his chest opened to reveal what could only be a slot for the chaos emerald. "You've come for the emerald."

Placing the artifact in his chest, Storm Dragoon allowed his armor to slam shut before suddenly flexing his body. In an instant the air in the arena became dense with the weight of the creature's power, and the freedom fighters would find it hard to move freely. Even those who were unable to sense chaos energy would be able to tell that this entity was far beyond anything they had face before.

"I can not allow you to leave this place..." Sparks of electricity began dancing around Dragoon's body as he opened his arms in welcome of group's challenge. "It's my reason for living." He said solemnly before vanishing in an impressive display of speed. Placing himself behind Cynthia, Dragoon cocked an electrically charged fist backwards and prepared to deliver a bone crushing strike the back of her head.

[spoiler=OOC]Welcome to the true boss of the chapter. Storm Dragoon is going to be the toughest threat yet, so be prepared for the worst.

I've decided to try something new with this boss... In an attempt to allow for more smooth combat, I'm going invite you guys to ask me the reaction to your moves via skype before you post so that you can include them in your posts without having to wait for the host post that reacts to everything (I'll still be host posting of course but just for more important stuff). Of course you'll have limited moves if you do this, and there won't be any taking back your actions.

Finally, oxygen! It seemed like that dragon was taking forever to climb the waterfall, though Alex's ordeal wasn't over yet. The robotic dragon started to violently shake, causing the already weakened thief to fly right off its back. The landing would've been rough if it weren't for Axel catching her in mid-air. He brought her back to the ground, Alex was soaking wet and started to cough up water. "Remind me... Remind me to never do anything like that again..." She said trying to catch her breath.

Though she didn't have time to rest as the now reunited dragons became enveloped in a blinding light. Speakers around the area said something about 'Defragmentatation', that didn't sound good. Moments later, a new mechanicle figure appeared where the two dragons once stood... Holding the emerald! "The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing... You've come for the emerald." The robot then shut the emerald in its chest. "I can not allow you to leave this place... It's my reason for living."

Alex was getting terrible flashbacks to Mecha and Charyb, and this robot seemed on an entirely different level. But... There was no way they were going down to a hyped up robot again... As much as Alex loathed it, she was part of a team now, and she needed to pull her weight. The robotic figure made a move for the group and Alex started charging a large fireball in her hand. She turned to Axel with a sly smile. "Mind giving me a boost?"

Axel nodded at her question. "Here!" He extended his arm to meet hers and the fireball started to grow in strength. "So... This is the kind of power he uses... I like it..." Alex thought as she took the now glowing fireball. Her eyes set on Storm Dragoon, Alex hurled the fireball with all her might. Dragoon was close to giving Cynthia a hard blow to the head, but the fireball had saved her just in time.

The force of the Chaos Fireball sent Storm Dragoon skidding across the ground. Alex took the opportunity to vanish using her bracelet. She moved to a position behind Storm Dragoon and aimed for a shot at his back with a heated knife. A similar attack as she did on Mephiles a while back, but it should have the same result.

Zane immediately yelped as he felt Axel grabbing his arm, and one second vanishing from where he stood into the cave where Chimera was protecting them from the Oxydrag. He held his stomach again, grumbling slightly.

"You still with us?"

"Yeah...s-something tells me...I-I won't be getting used to that..." Zane said, chuckling slightly before looking at Axel. "Thanks Axel..."

"Now, it's time for our counter attack!"

"You got a specific plan in mind, Axel?" Zane asked, standing up some. ...Indeed the white hedgehog had a plan in mind...

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

And what an amazing combination of an assault it was!

The trio started sending out an onslaught of icicles, rockets, and even Chaos Spears in the direction of the Oxydrag, which caused him to going into a defensive stance. It was just as Axel predicted. Now the real fun could start!

"You're not getting away this time."

Showtime! Zane thought, seeing Chimera shooting out from his palm the powerful stream of water. Quickly flipping over Axel's shoulder, the arctic wolf kicked off the hedgehog's crossed arms. "Thanks for the lift Axel!" he shouted with a nod before taking his hands and grabbing a hold of the water jet.

"Alright...I think your hard-drives are a bit hot...I suggest you cool down!!" Zane shouted, before beginning to free the jet of water as it froze the Oxydrag in place and connected Chimera's arm to it. "Axel, go!!"

With a blur of speed, Axel spun and took out the ice structure along with the Oxydrag. Zane howled in victory, as he moved slightly and held onto Chimera. "Nice shootin' with the water, C!" he laughed, before they made their descent.

Xvignette_zps578dff7a.png

Though this was the least of their troubles. With the fall of the Oxydrag, the two teams converged together as the Hydrogon descended...and strangely enough had the power to literally merge with the Oxydrag and before them...stood a new robotic creature. Zane only blinked a bit as he stared at the new being known as Storm Dragoon.

-BGM-

"The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing...You've come for the emerald. I can not allow you to leave this place...It's my reason for living."

And without a second to try and recuperate, the team found themselves in another encounter. Zane quickly turned as he watched Storm Dragoon disappear and then reappear behind Cynthia and delivered a shocking blow to the back of her neck. It was obvious that this robotic being might've been on a different level than Charyb and Mecha Sonic...this one actually HAD a Chaos Emerald installed into its body now.

Zane began to grind his teeth some, before assessing the situation as quickly as he could. He soon guessed that it would be better to play the long game...emphasis on long.

"Okay...I'm getting sick and tired of robots literally being a roadblock to a goal..." Zane growled as he began to throw countless icicles in Storm Dragoon's direction. However, unfortunately for the arctic wolf, the Dragoon was dodging and weaving at incredible speeds. It upset him to see that the speeds of these enemies even was up there with the hedgehogs themselves!

However, he did notice the lightning being channeled in Dragoon's left hand. Thaaaaat can't be good... he thought, before switching tactics. It was obvious this guy was fast...but if the ground was slick, maybe he'd slip up. At this moment, Zane went to slam his hands on the ground to freeze the ground, but when he began to...Storm Dragoon was gone. "W-What?!"

It wasn't long before Storm Dragoon was now face to face with him as Zane tried his best to move back and even make a counter strike, but it was too late. Zane felt the most powerful kick to the stomach that he had ever felt, causing him to be out of breath and being flung into the air. The kick felt like something Ken would have...but the pain was unbearable.

G-Gahhh...n-n-not...NOT YET!! Zane held his stomach, as he slowly began to make his descent. He slowly moved his hands and tried his best to perform the exact attack he did on Mephiles' death ball. He pushed his hands forward and unleashed an ice beam towards Storm Dragoon, hoping this would do something.

Cynthia was surprised to see everyone together again in a strange arena. It looked like Zane, Axel, and Chimera had their own dragon problem. And this dragon problem got even worse as the two mechanical dragons fused together into a new one, Storm Dragoon.

"The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing...You've come for the emerald. I can not allow you to leave this place...It's my reason for living." That didn't sound good. Cynthia had only blinked for a second to feel a breeze behind her, luckily a combined attack by Alex and Axel saved her from a punch to the back of her head. The force of the fireball launched Cynthia back but she quickly recovered. "Uhh... Thanks I guess..." She said towards the two. "Now its my turn!" Cynthia hopped on her extreme gear and sped right at Storm Dragoon, morphing her hand to deliver a swift and hard punch.

Unfortunately, a strong blast of wind from Dragoon's mouth blew Cynthia away, right into the wall of the arena. She was able to raise her arm in time to block most of the blast, but she did have cuts along her body from it. She reoriented herself and noticed that the blast left behind a slip stream. "Perfect!" Cynthia hopped onto the slip stream with her gear and picked up more speed than normal. She hoped to deliver a metal crushing punch to the robot, but alas, Dragoon caught her in mid flight, her extreme gear went flying without her and ended up crashing into the wall and getting lodged in it.

"Let's see if you'll survive your ally's attack as well as I can..." Dragoon had a tight grip on her, she couldn't escape. He was using her as a shield, if her friends had already launched their attacks... Cynthia closed her eyes and morphed her whole body, she shined like polished metal. Hopefully if she did take any of her friends attacks, she could shrug them off without a problem.

"The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing...You've come for the emerald. I can not allow you to leave this place...It's my reason for living." Chimera growled at the sentence as he got into his stance.

"That dammed Tails. For all his talks of being a hero, he just enslaves a machine to do his bidding... and he even stole Eggman's combining idea," Chimera began to morph his arm into a gun, ready to take some shots.

"Okay...I'm getting sick and tired of robots literally being a roadblock to a goal..." Zane commented, to which Chimera replied,

"Agreed. Which is why the very first organic resistance we encounter, I am going to eradicate. No exceptions," Chimera stated. His tone showed that no, he was not joking. Zane had gone to attack, but was kicked into the air pretty quickly. The robot then grabbed Cynthia, trying to use her as an organic shield. This would not fly.

The robot revved up his engines before spindashing at Storm. He knew, however, that more than likely this robot was built to be able to counter spindashes, as Eggman was fond of creating robots with that could mimic that ability. So, instead of following through, he decided to unfurl in front of the massive robot and attempt to commando roll between his legs.

Storm was smart though, it seemed as he simply lifted his leg and smashed it down on Chimera's arm, pinning it to his chest. The pressure was immense, he wasn't sure if even he could stand it.

"You're working together with these children... don't spite my creator because you've lost your own purpose." Storm then started to exert more pressure. "It's in poor taste..."

"I'll spite your creator all I want to," Chimera managed to retorted, despite the pressure. "And I do have a purpose. I'm saving the goddamn world," Chimera aimed with his other hand, but because of the awkward positioning, he could only grab the foot on top of his chest and fire a laser point blank. As soon as the laser made contact, Storm leapt up into the sky, the pressure embedding Chimera into the metal ground.

To make matter worse, his laser was headed to Zane's attack... which quickly overpowered his own and struck the robot. Yes, it was weaker, but... it still froze his circuits and joints, making it hard to move.

"I-I think I'll just lay here for a bit...," Chimera muttered. This was gonna be a long fight...

Both groups had finally met up with each other,  but they were soon face to face with an even greater foe...one morphed from the foundations of both enemies they had encountered.  As it rose from the smoke, it met them with a cocky attitude.

"The fact that I am awake again can only mean one thing...You've come for the emerald. I can not allow you to leave this place...It's my reason for living."

"Great...another glorified bucket of bolts..." Ken sighed.  He looked to Chimera, and his expression changed to that of a poor man begging a king for forgiveness.  "I-I-I mean...not that you're anything like that Chimera!  You're totally a glorified killing machine!  All hail the egg empir-!"  Before he could complete his sentence, the battle had begun.  Ken was left in the dust as his comrades mounted an all out offensive against the powerful dragoon.  As they were all dispatched quickly, Ken realized he had to get serious.  He rolled his neck and shoulders, and took a fighting stance.

"Inhibitor of Mind, release!"  He exclaimed before rushing past the now frozen Chimera in the blink of an eye.  With all his might, he let force a punch towards the dragoon's center.  As it landed, Ken's eyes were widened as Cynthia was let loose from it's grasp.  Ken went to grab her, but hadn't noticed that she had morphed her whole body into that metallic substance.  He almost dropped her due to the shock of the realization.  However, he strengthened his legs to help him with her weight.  When he put her down, he smiled.

"We're gonna have to put you on a diet Cyn!"  Ken then dashed off again, jumping into midair, and launching both legs towards dragoon's center yet again.  He looked like he was going to land the attack, just as he did his previous punch.  However, the robot managed to pivot to the side.  It's speed was incredible.  Ken felt a pressure grip onto his leg, and force him backwards.  It was Dragoon, reeling him into it's fist.  As Ken's face made contact with hard steel, he could feel his senses dwindle away, but just for a mere moment.  This robot knocked the spirits out of him.  When he came to, the cold feeling of metal still resided on his face.  Dragoon knelt over him, a strange energy gathering in his mouth.  Ken tried desperately to get up and away, but he was pinned.

The situation was dire...but his body couldn't take a direct hit from an attack like that.

"Ihibatah off hoe reareas!"  He muffled through Dragoon's hand.  A rush of energy flowed through him, and with it he took all the strength he had to lift off the ground somewhat, and threw a sweep towards Dragoon's knees.

Stom Arena

BMG

"Ihibatah off hoe reareas!"

Dragoon watched with shock as Ken began to force himself upwards with a sudden burst of energy from within himself. "What was that?!" The lighting gathered in Storm Dragoon's right hand continued to intensify as he struggled to keep Ken pinned down with his left. Though it seemed that it wasn't enough...

Swept off balance by a low kick from the hedgehog, Dragoon allowed himself to be sent tumbling away by the astonishing power of the attack. "What frightening strengt-" He began but was force to silence himself upon Axel's sudden appearance at his flank. Reacting quickly, Dragoon ducked under a wide slash from Axel's chaos blade, and brought himself to his feet.

Axel grunted in annoyance as he flew over his target's head. Landing directly in front of Dragoon, he formed a second blade in an instant before pivoting in an attempt at a swift beheading. Though Storm was ready this time, and effortlessly caught the blade in his left hand. "You hung back and allowed me to beat down your allies so you could observe my movements and take advantage of that brief opening," Storm spoke as he peered down into Axel's glowing blue gaze. "How ruthless of you..." With every second the energy in his right hand continue to grow more volatile, and storm clouds now blacked out the sun as the hung low over the mountain.

"Call it what you want..." Axel growled as he struggled for control of his blade. Dragoon's strength was unreal, and the energy that he was gathering was now reaching a level that was frighting for the young prodigy. Within moments, Axel's chaos blade shattered from the pressure of Storm Dragoons grip, forcing him to leap backwards.

"Not that it matters." Dragoon scoffed before righting his stance. "Your plan failed..."

"Who said that was my plan!?" Axel's glowing gaze seemed to be peering through Dragoon as he hastily formed a large sphere of chaos energy between his palms and sent it flying towards the robot with a smirk.

Unimpressed by the display, Storm Dragon blocked the attack with his left hand; seemingly using minimal effort to push against the blue orb of light and keep it hanging in the air in front of him. He prepared to send it hurtling back at Axel, but just before he could thrust forward, something tore into his back. "What?!" He gasped in shock as he turned over his shoulder to see Alex wielding a red hot blade. The momentary distraction was all Axel needed to initiate the second phase of his technique, and without warning he flung a second sphere into the larger mass of chaos energy, causing it erupt into violent blue explosion.

Warping to Alex, Axel quickly shoved the thief forward and stood between her and the blast to shield her from any damage as he sneered. "How's that for ruthless?" He spat.

"Disappointing..." Dragoon's voice called from behind Axel, causing his eyes to widen in shock. In an instant, Storm appearing between Alex and Axel; smoke billowing off of his armor as sent the two combatants flying in opposite directions with a backhand and a side kick.

It felt like he had been hit by a truck. Even after all the times he had been punched and kicked by his brother during their training, Axel couldn't recall a single time that he had ever experienced such force. Bringing himself to a skidding halt on his hands and knees, Axel panted heavily as he tried his best to catch his breath with what he could already tell was a cracked rib cage. There was only one option now...

"C-Chaos...." Axel groaned as he produced his emerald and brought it up to eye level. "Contr-"

"I don't think so." He heard Dragoon's voice seconds before the robot appeared inches from his face. Unable to move in time, Axel could do nothing as Dragoon grabbed his entire face with it's left hand and lifted him high in the air. Sparks danced around the pair as Storm Dragoon began pumping hundreds of volts of electricity into the white hedgehog's body, causing him scream in agony.

Glancing over his shoulder towards the rest of the battered intruders, Dragoon lifted is right hand into the air. With his preparations now complete, he used the energy that had been gathered to seize control of the storm clouds above and force them to begin swirling violently. Axel's screams were soon drowned out by deafening thunder as the clouds crackled with energy.

"Thunder Dragon's Indignation." Storm Dragoon's tone was stoic as he called forth the name of his technique.

Answering his call, the vortex of clouds immediately parted its maw to release five massive bolts of chaos infused lighting that fell towards each of the remaining freedom fighters. The heroes would have only moments to react before the bolts would strike and release an explosion horribly electricity.
